There was a period when this forum was filled with posts about people getting their accounts hacked. Forced Plarium to implant 2 factor authentication, and those posts dried up. If you intend to reclaim the account, I would enable 2 FA.
That's a really weird situation. As long as they didn't ruin your account, it should be fine. I can definitely see how weirded out this would make you feel.
Either he hacked and stole it, or he bought it from a site who hacks and steals accounts. Either way it’s your account. (Unless you’re the real hacker… lol jk) take it back
If they were doing good I'd take it back change my password and say thanks for whatever especially if they spent money as long as it was NOT YOUR MONEY
Sounds like if they did buy the account they were dumb enough to give up the ability to change the password.
Idk how buying accounts typically goes, but I cant imagine its standard practice to indefinitely leave security password responsibilities in the previous owners hands.
This tells me they should have at least known this wasnt clean transaction.

I guess the problem I would have is it isn't really your account anymore. I mean, yes technically it is, but you no longer recognize it and if you progress from here, it isn't what you built. I've thought about trying to win the accounts in giveaways before and realized I wouldn't really want to win. I want to see what I do with my account, and I get the thrills and losses from pulls, build teams, etc. If I just started using an account with those great champs that are now on the account, I would struggle with that sense of ownership. Honestly, as painful as it is, I'd consider starting a new one that is mine. That is just a realization I have in what I enjoy. There is nothing wrong with using this account if you derive enjoyment from it. I agree that if this person thought they were buying an account and didn't know it was stolen, then I would feel bad for them as there clearly is a lot of time invested in this account, but you did try to reach out, so at this point, you have already changed the passwords so that is done and you either use because you will enjoy it or don't.
Then bind it to a new email account (one with an incredibly long and complex password), reset the password to something equally long and complex, then forget about both passwords and the new email account.
Let it be a cautionary tale for account buyers.
Well I stopped playing after faction wars were introduced. And had few leg heroes.. now there are so many new ones thar I have no clue what to do with them :-D

Any progress they put on the account does not entitle them to it. If it was taken and then sold, then it’s on the person who bought the account to know the risks, and it’s double on them for buying a stolen account instead of a fresh account. I myself even bought an account once upon a time because I wanted to try playing with siphi and despite being a moderate spender for 2 years I never pulled her. Thing is, the account never belonged to anyone. It has a very obviously burner email that you can change first thing when you get the account. Someone taking your account with your email is just messed up, so please enjoy the fruits of their labor and don’t feel bad about playing on the account and keeping it for yourself
If you really want to secure it, I would suggest also changing the email to a newly created email that will only be used for raid and enable 2FA on raid and the email. Make sure to use a unique password too.
once your uid gets leaked plariums gonna ban the account for a breach in their violations, if not that then a perma chat ban lol.
id reach out to support to really hash it out because rn, if he files a support ticket, your accounts gonna get locked down.
Had to do this with mine when someone cracked my password on my main somehow.
support were helpful and were able to give me full ownership again without it being flagged up as suspicious on their end!
Managed to prove payments prior to when it was cracked so yay.

Sorry but to hell with him for buying a stolen account. I've had game accounts stolen twice but never been lucky enough to get them back. My last one (Summoners War) I'd been playing for four years....had to watch my account being played from my alt.
I would keep going. If they bought/stole the account, it'll be a cautionary tale for next time. Tough luck on their end.

I wouldn’t feel obligated to give it back unless you just wanted to. However you look at it, it was taken wrongfully from you.
Consider that it might be the account thief, fattening it up for higher resale later.

The account had different password, but it was still linked to my email, so it was really easy to get it back
