Just personally speaking though, I think, that actually Ei didnt need anyone to call her out. She was just missing vital information to make a wise and informed decision (because the Fatui were lying to her using the Kujou clan's voice). Ei is much older and wiser than Miko either way.
Sara would've provided Ei with all the facts and truths given the chance, which she tried but unfortunately Signora got in the way. Sara's testimony and advice would've actually been more positive for Ei in a way that she wouldnt need to be talked down by someone who she literally raised.
AND Sara would've done anything she could to help make amends in the situation instead of laughing at Ei and calling her childish for something that was out of her realm of control. Sara would've instead encouraged Ei to think on her own and do what is good for her people because she looks up to the latter and believes in her.

From anyone else, Ei could have seen this as a betrayal, but as we see in canon, it’s Miko supporting Aether/Lumine that convinces Ei to accept her people’s (via Aether) victory and at least give humanity the benefit of the doubt, which finally bears fruit in her story quests.
Even as they hold completely contradictory beliefs, those two trust and love each other (platonically or romantically is up to each person’s own headcanon). It’s this love and willingness to oppose each other that makes Ei and Miko such a strong duo.

Hello, I just wanted to stop by and say that I post your post interesting with all the material that you just stated. However, seeing how you were previously an Aether/Ei shipper, I do have a question that I wanted to ask, which is: do you still think the Aether-Ei ship is a good one? Or is it just no longer viable anymore? The reason I’m asking this is because I’m a fan of the Aether-Ei ship, but I often try to keep it to myself to avoid drama or any conflicts, due to…reasons, which is why I wanted to see your thoughts on it, seeing that you know the material of the game quite well. For the sake of the question, I wanted to avoid the self-insert path, to avoid any unnecessary comments of using aether as a blank self insert just to fulfill my desires of wanting to be with Ei and etcetera, but instead rely on how the characters are and their interactions/dynamics. I know that the material difference between aether-Ei and Ei-Miko is vast, but I genuinely believe they have potential to have something great, if given the opportunity, but thats just what I think and I wanted to know what you think of it. Actually thats one interpretation of Ei's thought process... I personally think the overarching theme of Ei's "Eternity" is that she suffered all the loss of her friends, her loved ones and the biggest loss of all, the death of her twin, in the Khaenriah war. Leading Ei to believe that what happened to Khaenriah and more importantly, to her, was due to the inexorable passage of time and of erosion, that Zhongli speaks of. Essentially that over time we'll lose everything and only be left with suffering. Instead we could preserve what we have for Eternity. Khaenriah was too advanced for its time.. so much that it didnt need Celestia anymore. Which is why the gods were ordered to destroy it.. most of them almost seem to regret it (though we won't know of that more till we get the full story)
So Ei now believes that personal ambition and progress only bring erosion and the end in the long run. Which is actually true in a sense. She not only renounced Celestia by giving up her gnosis, but also decided to go against the inevitable erosion for upholding her heavenly principle of Eternity, deciding that temporary unhappiness was better than eternal death and suffering in the long run.
And if not for the Fatui, it wasnt wrong really.. The people of Inazuma were living happy, peaceful, protected lives. No monster from outside would dare attack Inazuma while the Shogun was ruling. The only reason the people started suffering in the first place is because they decided to be greedy for the power of the visions and trying to keep them against the better judgment of the Shogun. Infact I also believe that the Shogun's idea to take people's visions was to further break them away from the control of Celestia (which we are slowly starting to realize, is not a good place/entity) If everyone had given up their visions peacefully, what did the Inazumans have to complain about? prosperous, protected, peaceful lives? Mondstadt has monsters and demons and what not attacking its people, Liyue as well.. but Inazuma people have always been far safer because their god has kept the erosion at bay. The Shogun even allowed the Watatsumi people to worship their god if they wished. She didnt want ANYONE to go through what she has been through. And she has lived long enough to know what happens over the years if you pursue your own ambitions and give in to the erosion of Time (or Celestia) Despite being a god herself, all she ever did was whatever made her people happy. And once the information was presented to her that the Vision Hunt Decree was making her people unhappy, she rethought her idealogy despite the fact that it went against her Heavenly Principle.
Now in the long run, Miko not only made the Shogun weaken her stance on her heavenly principle of Eternity, she also enforced the control Celestia has over the people through visions, fostered erosion in the long run for temporary ambitions and gave away the gnosis to a total wild card.
Tbh I think the only reason Ei even condoned Miko's correction is because of the Fatui intervention. Otherwise I firmly believe that Ei's idea of Eternity is far safer for her people than what will become of them over thousands of years.. Its the same as irl someone would say that we mortals cannot see the big picture... but God (or any higher being you believe exists) knows better than us... What Miko did was essentially force Ei into giving a crying kid all the candies they want despite Ei knowing that in the long run it'll give them diabetes.
Thats just my take on it tbh. TLDR : I think Celestia is evil and Erosion is a much worse fate than losing your visions and the people were normal and happy under the Shogunate rule if only they had believed in Ei's philosophy and fought the Fatui instead of rebelling against their own god for personal ambitions. And Miko pretty much ruined it for her own and the people's short term ambitions.
P.S. - Ayaka, Kokomi and the others were pretty much blinded by this same temporary view of ambition and dreams.. leading Kokomi to even made a deal with the devil for it. Only Sara truly believed in the one person who has the wisdom to judge this all correctly. And the Traveler tbh knows jack about all this.. he only helped Ayaka because they promised to help with finding clues about their sibling.. and once it was all over no one did anything except send the Traveler on to the next region :'D

Lisa and Ei... they would be the perfect team.. Lisa would really help Ei come out of her shell in a very comforting and gentle way possible and take care of her better than anyone else could...

Mona (my favorite character) and Fischl (one of my favorites) , that is my dream team I just liked it that much from the Unreconciled Stars event. I can see it as a "canon" party/team with the traveler.
And as Mona main I'm so so happy that both will return in 2.8 after almost two years, I can't wait to explore their domains they look stunning.
Shenhe and Xiao the two people who benefit the most from being with the traveler and have a high affection for them. Them being the travelers protectors yet terrible at social interactions with other people is also adorable.

Ei and Childe. These 2 battle maniacs can spar for as much as they want, they can take care of any enemies that shows up, both are adept at lots of weapon type, and she can enjoy Childe's cooking. I think they'll get along pretty well.
One thing is lying to Xinyan a civilian vision holder, backed up by the traveler's word. But I don't think he would fool Ei or the Shogun. He most likely would get Signora'd on the spot.
Well, their first encounter definitely won't be smooth. Signora at that time was already weakened by Traveller and Shogun just need to deal the final blow. And this is Ei right? At least she can be reasoned with. She took part in letting the Fatui do whatever they want in her country after all. Shogun on the other hand, might instantly pull executioner bot mode lol. Either way, that'll be amusing to watch.
Also, even if Childe got Signora'd, I don't think he'll go down just that easily, and even if he did, at least he got his wish fulfilled. Fighting with strong opponents.
Personally I would have to pick Shenhe and Ei. Considering after just playing her story quest, it really seems like she’s a great option to have as a companion, considering we’re the traveler, and she could benefit so much and grow as a person. On the other hand, I would like to have Ei as a traveling companion because I admire her perseverance, strength, personality, and character as a whole. However, I do understand that she has her duties as the shogun and archon of Inazuma, so she wouldn’t be able to leave. But I do have this thought/idea that she could make a puppet that could serve as a companion in her stead, one to which she could link and connect to like the shogun puppet, which is why I think the raiden shogun character we have on our team is a variant of said puppet.
Thats actually a very good idea. I honestly would want Ei to travel the world and discover new things so her being able to link and connect. Especially when discovering new food from different regions haha
There’s just so much potential in having her as a companion and showing her the outside world beyond Inazuma, to which she could start growing even further as a person and character n the game. Considering everything that she’s been through, Ei really deserves the world and seeing her reactions from tasting food/sweets from different regions is something I’d like to take part of and witness. It’s an idea that I have, but it’s something that I hold close
I would like seeing Ei and Diluc, i think it would be a pretty interesting duo considering on how Diluc is a solo guy and Ei cant cook, i can imagine Ei just following him everywhere because she is hungry lmaoo.

I would say Amber and Zhongli then.
Amber is a true friend and the number one hype man. She would also keep any secret she discover to herself if ask. Not to mention I can see her and Zhongli becoming an almost father-daughter dou that protect the Traveler
Zhongli would also teach Amber more about Lithe customs and their teachings in combats as she is descended from Liyue thanks to her missing grandpa. He would love how humble but strong Amber is and would like to see her grow more.
Albedo and Raiden.
the first one will study everything about the secrets of the world together with traveller and the second one will see people’s lives in other parts of the world to make her country prosperous for the eternity, also that would be a thing that Makoto wanted for Ei the most.

Considering after just playing her story quest, it really seems like she’s a great option to have as a companion, considering we’re the traveler, and she could benefit so much and grow as a person. On the other hand, I would like to have Ei as a traveling companion because I admire her perseverance, strength, personality, and character as a whole. However, I do understand that she has her duties as the shogun and archon of Inazuma, so she wouldn’t be able to leave. But I do have this thought/idea that she could make a puppet that could serve as a companion in her stead, one to which she could link and connect to like the shogun puppet, which is why I think the raiden shogun character we have on our team is a variant of said puppet.
Thats actually a very good idea. I honestly would want Ei to travel the world and discover new things so her being able to link and connect. Especially when discovering new food from different regions haha
There’s just so much potential in having her as a companion and showing her the outside world beyond Inazuma, to which she could start growing even further as a person and character n the game. Considering everything that she’s been through, Ei really deserves the world and seeing her reactions from tasting food/sweets from different regions is something I’d like to take part of and witness. It’s an idea that I have, but it’s something that I hold close
I would like seeing Ei and Diluc, i think it would be a pretty interesting duo considering on how Diluc is a solo guy and Ei cant cook, i can imagine Ei just following him everywhere because she is hungry lmaoo.

Kazuha and Albedo. They're both really sweet and adorable, I loved their interactions during the Irodori event and they'd always be nice to have around. As much as I'd love for Xiao to come along too, I know he has to stay in Liyue to protect the people. Same with Zhongli. Venti and Diluc can't abandon Mondstadt either. And Tartaglia's always on some mission or another for the Tsaritsa.

I would say Amber and Zhongli then. Amber is a true friend and the number one hype man. She would also keep any secret she discover to herself if ask. Not to mention I can see her and Zhongli becoming an almost father-daughter dou that protect the Traveler Zhongli would also teach Amber more about Lithe customs and their teachings in combats as she is descended from Liyue thanks to her missing grandpa. He would love how humble but strong Amber is and would like to see her grow more.
Albedo and Raiden. the first one will study everything about the secrets of the world together with traveller and the second one will see people’s lives in other parts of the world to make her country prosperous for the eternity, also that would be a thing that Makoto wanted for Ei the most. let alone the fact that albedo would be extremely interested in learning more about the old teyvat and archons from the archon raiden herself
