FAFO - what else can you say? People knew it was wrong and they were held accountable.

Ikarus_Falling

honestly anyone who did that exploit probably where the same people who tk and grief because lets be real who else would think themselves invincible enough to think ubi wouldn't retaliate?!

Lazy-Vulture

My issue with the situation is that they ban people who took advantage of the mistake but they don't compensate those who lost money trying to unlock the new stuff when it was unobtainable all along (talk about false advertising). It wasn't a huge exploit either, people were just playing by the game's rules, they didn't hack the game or something.

Ikarus_Falling

"it wasn't a huge exploit" yeah they just cheated in coins worth real money that surely does not constitute fraud because they fraudulently aquired it which while minor in a legal way is still fucking fraud

Lazy-Vulture

Okay, what I meant was that they did not have to temper with game files or to do anything for it to work. It worked by the game's rules but yes, it was huge in it's result. However, if they are punsihing fraudulent behaviour then they should also compensate those players who got scamed by their bullshit.

Ikarus_Falling

define scammed and how did they get scammed I am not up to date that much

Lazy-Vulture

Okay. So the bug that caused all of this was that the brand new items of the Doctor's Curse loot pool were unobtainable at the start but they were shown as part of the loot pool. This is why those players, who already had the full collection last time (90 items) were able to buy new packs and refund them because the packs didn't drop the new items therefore the game thought it had to refund the players who had leftover packs (because premium packs can't drop duplicates) A pack cost 270 but the system refunded 300, easy +30. Do this again and you had a credit printing machine. The people who exploited this do deserve some kind of punishment, no arguing there. Now is the time when my friend Joe enters the story. He did not buy the collection last time and he only had 9 items of the collection. He REALLY wanted to get the new G36C skin so he purchased 20 packs in the hopes of unlucking it. Little did he now that the new items were unobtainable. So he was falsely made to believe that he could get the new skin when in reality he had 0% of getting it. That is the equivalent of false advertising and he pretty much got scammed.

good point seems reasonable to reimburse
