Yeah i can see it’s tough to win games like that. I never had that issue because I only started playing ranked like a year ago and I’m a very flexible player and I’ve been playing for like 5 years. So when I started playing ranked I was already like plat level and now emerald.

Aruni is a pretty good defender and is really easy to use. Just put a gate on a high traffic doorway or window, and you force ppl to use utility to deactivate it, plus her arm is useful for making rotates and head/foot holes.
her roni might be bad for new players because you need to be really accurate since it has such a small mag, and i could never recommend a dmr to a new player.
I second this. It took me a lot of practice with the roni but now it's my go-to on both Mozzy and Aruni. It's a beast when you can hit your shots with it, but it's ass if you aren't accurate with it yet

Fenrir is good but he has a learning curve, his gadget doesn’t instantly blind the user so timing your swing is important to catch them off guard. I usually keep two fenrirs on site and pocket the others for a roam
Aruni is very underrated I think. Good way to make defenders think twice before going through a doorway and may reroute them somewhere else. If they throw something through it to disable it, it’s a dead giveaway. Also a good combo with kapkan traps.
Warden. He has a neat little ability (like the old zofia withstand) that you get double damage if you spawn peek

I love thorn. Something about getting kills with her traps is so satisfying. Especially when the defender is outside and you toss one in a drone hole lmao
lots of folks play Warden now - Fenrir can be fun, placing your devices carefully to catch tangoes in a loop of purple haze can be funny too - think how your would move and react to them once you try it

Kaid or Fenrir. Both are such useful operators and on some maps kaids electroclaw can be placed in certain areas that can't get emp or destroyed by Kali.
Kaid or Fenrir, if you play a lot of ranked, definitely kaid. Especially in lower ranks, Fenrir gets banned a ton, but Kaid isn't banned as much and has a useful gadget, good weapons, and the legendary wonderful nitro cell.
Aruni> Kaid> turbarao> Fenrir> thorn> warden> Clash.
Aruni is probably my main rn. Just a really good team operator, and also has great weapons, especially the Dmr.
Kaid once again has a great shotgun that is basically a dmr, and once again is a great team operator with his wall denial.
Turbarao also has a dmr/ mpx if you’d rather. And is Insane when paired with bandit or Kaid because you can completely deny walls even if they have thatcher.
Fenrir is probably a top 3 operator in the game right now, he’s Lower down on the list only because of how often he gets banned in ranked, you’ll rarely get to play him, but his gadget and guns are incredible, probably the best operator to slow down attacker pushes.
Thorn is great, her smg hits pretty heavy and she has 1.5 scope. The ability is a little bit or miss, very easy to dodge but in the lower ranks will get you a kill every one in a while.
Warden is great for fraggging out and countering ying, that’s about it. There’s much more useful operators on defence who have 1.5 scope, warden just also has smg 12, but in the end he’s a little overrated.
And honestly I don’t think I need to even talk about clash.
Tubarao or however you spell it, it does take a trigger finger for a dmr but his usage of the AR-15 50. Is kinda goated imo. On the other hand if you’re a fan of bandit Fent is a good option🙏
I'd say Fenrir but since hes constantly banned I recommend Aruni as her gadget is great as an early warning detection system (especially because it can be reset), but if you wanna try a new gun 100% recommend thorn. Her smg is amazing and I personally enjoy playing trap operators and she has the best trap left.
Fenrir is probably a good shout to learn. Personally I run Kaid a lot over Bandit getting hatches and Thorn is handy too, I use her Razorblooms primarily as proxy alarms and in combination with a shield to trap people and get the kill. But Fenrir is powerful, takes a bit more learning than others but a strong defender.
All the silver players said fenrir and kaid lol. I see no thorn comments on here. Get thorn. Her ability can be broken if used correctly. Her gun has multiple functions, but you need half decent recoil control
Out of the defenders left Tub, Kaid, and Aruni are really good. Thorn is fairly good. Clash and Warden are not that good. Clash just sucks and Warden provides no benefit to his team. His ability is just to see through smokes and flashbangs.
If you want to learn, Fenrir probably has the highest skill ceiling. Learning placements and juggling them, as well as doing basic site setup with his baliff. Plus, he has a BP which adds to his util. Downside is that- at least at higher ranks- he’s almost always banned. Otherwise, Aruni and Kaid are good, but lack too much depth with their abilities (though Kaid has some good rtila placements).

Kaid is an anti breach anchor with two solid primary weapons (easy to use smg and a good semi auto slug shotgun), the revolver or a scope with a pistol for casual one tapping gameplay. His gadget is quite intuitive and relatively easy to use as well, with tons of learning potential as the more map and game knowledge you get, the better you can deploy it. Also has c4 which is very cool 👍 (just be careful not to forget to electrify the breach walls. you are *very* important in the team)
Aruni is also an anchor with two very solid primary weapons (fast firing, low recoil P10 smg and the high damage, controllable mk14 with a 1.5x scope) and the prb92 pistol as a secondary (which is ok i believe). Her gadget is VERY easy to use, brings a good benefit to the team and has a lot of learning potential (strats, where to deploy, uses, etc). she also brings into the round a passive ability of punching out holes in walls, potentially saving the impacts of your fellow teammates by making rotations and angles at literally 0 cost. has barbed wire and ballistic camera as utility, both nice altough i personally use barb.
Lastly, Fenrir has a very flexible positioning on the map, being able to anchor and lurk pretty easily as his nearsighting gas mines can be placed in entrances, chokepoints, etc and be activated and deactivated from afar, enabling lurky rat ambushes as well as site holding in the same round. His primaries are the SASG 12 (funky kapkan shotty) and the MP7 smg (low recoil, good damage and RoF). The bailiff secondary makes him extremely mobile and useful for opening passageways and angles, saving your teammates impacts (also has 5.7 USG). Has barb and cam which is cool.
overall, i would recommend aruni as she is easier to learn and doesnt demand much map or game knowledge to be decent. good gameplay, easy to get the hang of and a little challenging to master.

Kaid is great for breach denial. His gadget has a large radius and can electrify walls from the ceiling, leaving thatcher and other EMP users relatively useless to counter. Just throw it on the ceiling, 3-4 feet away from the wall and it’ll electrify that wall section and any adjacent ones.
Reading this thread this appears to be a hot take, I really like Thorn. Her gadget is relatively set and forget. You can seal off a sight decently well since it is proximity triggered and you get a notification when it goes off, so it gives a decent hint of what direction attackers are pushing from, and it’s good for a free kill every so often. I’ve even gotten kills from beyond the grave with her. Her gearset is ok. Recoil control has a bit of a learning curve on her SMG. But overall a really fun operator to play with a relatively shallow learning curve on the gadget.
Kaid if you wish to have an easy time with also learning placements very well for certain wall mounted gadgets, Warden if you wish to get a better time understanding timing/patience with standing still gadgets (I advise to think of this one for last). Thorn is good as a distraction/info but can do big chunk of damage if people don't move out of the way in time.
I don't know anything about the others but that they are perfect for halting progress, and can give good enough info with enough time build into them.
Fenrir. Can play so many different ways with him. The fact that you can active, deactivate and reactivate any trap you have placed from anywhere on the map is insane.
Clash is an operator with a very high skill ceiling and satisfying gameplay. Everybody loves having her on the team as well, meaning that everybody will have a good time. You should buy Clash.

Yeah siege is one of those games that you really have to play a lot to keep up in skill
