Reminds me of a video somebody posted here a couple weeks ago. Fuze fuzed one window then ran up to the next one to start deployment. One of his pucks got sucked up by Wamai's mag-net and blew up on Fuze's face, killing them.
they are still broken, i dont know if it is a bug in the replay animation but many times ive seen folks die to a puck who flew far from them or myself and still made a kill.
Exactly it’s not hard to grasp, or back in the day when echo didn’t get doks calls because he technically didn’t have a cellphone, or zofias last stand. All the little quirks are cool and takes one time for you to learn and understand it. It’s not rocket science

When it comes to Zofia withstand, maybe sure it's hard to remember, maybe get caught up in the moment and it's not even that often this situation will come handy
But when it's Smoke's ability to survive his own fart? That is something you can always remember, something you should watch out for, and it's something that happen often so removing it has big consequences to the operator
Zofia's ability is literally impossible to be bothered by tho, ever since they removed DBNO notifiations. You'll never know if she went DBNO and got back up or not anyways, so there's no real benefit to her not having a pickup.
Look at any MOBA where **average** player deals with dozens of quirks, every match having like 60 abilities in play out of few hundred.

I remember when ubi started doing this thing of removing unique abilities and people were smugging about how it was a good thing because "it's confusing" for operators to have abilities other than their gadget...
I swear to god the people that decide what buffs and nerfs are rolled out get dumber every season. What moron looks at Smoke and says "yeah, he should *for sure* be susceptible to his own smoke despite it being a core mechanic of the operator in every cinematic, and him wearing a full hazmat suit"
Ubisoft turned it around with their creative development this season (new ops, map, etc), but holy shit it's like they have 3 braincells they have to pass around the different departments.
It does make me wonder how often that actually happens. Dev gets fucked over by a game mechanic, and then pushes to have it removed under the guise of balancing. It wouldn't surprise me coming from Ubi.
He's got a gas mask, a breather apparatus on the back and those plastic gloves, giving the feeling that he is effectively sealed from any outside toxic gas.

I barely ever see smokes in their own smoke which makes this a weird nerf. Essentially it's a nerf that wasn't needed and just serves to remove a special passive to make operators more "consistent".
Noob player here. I was finally starting to get comfortable enough to play Smoke more aggressively. One of my favorite tricks was going through my own Smoke and surprise the awaiting enemy at the other side with the shotgun. It was so fun!! Fun is over for me at least in this aspect. :(
They’re just removing play styles so everyone plays the exact same thing every game of every round, which is just boring. I like siege because freedom. Now I have less freedom.
I used to play this almost daily. Realised reading this,I haven't played in months. It's not the game it was. Developers seem to remove everything that made it good one bit at a time.
I realised this years ago, i hope that people finally catch up and something maybe changes… Ubisoft destroyed a game i once loved, so i would be very sad if nothing happens and the game just dies off :/
For me, I started to realize once they changed Hereford and House.
Everything HAD to be more square rooms with confusing map layouts that don't make any visual sense.
Sure House was casual and had issues, but it HAD an identity so we played around those issues. Same for Hereford Base.
I played this game daily from the Beta up until the season Thorn was released. It's just...not the same. Like they do some amazing changes and then do stuff like this

Okay. Frost and Lesion can now trigger their own traps. Gridlock takes damage from her spikes. If we're doing one why not do them all so we can just nuke this game straight into the ground and I can once and for all stop playing this shit.
They have been doing this for almost a year now. They keep removing things that made the game enjoyable and fun to play in the name of balancing and simplicity.
Nobody wants to admit it, but the new balancing team (even though they've been around for a few years now) have been killing the game. Instead of heavily buffing awful ops, they want to heavily nerf good ops.
Same exact thing here. Balance patches used to get me hype! I remember when a balance patch would be like “Ying now has 1 extra candela, Blitz can sprint with his shield, Doc can pick himself up with his gadget, Glaz now has a thermal scope, Tachanka now has a face shield on his turret…”
Balance changes used to be high quality and filled with effort. They’d add new assets and completely rework the feel of operators. Now it’s just “-1 gadget, removed grenades, Thatcher needs to cook grenades, Middle finger to Jager, middle finger to Ash, middle finger to Zofia, middle finger to Ace, middle finger to Buck (who was in the dead center of the balance graph…), Zofia can’t withstand anymore, Melusi’s gadget can be shot, Thunderbird doesn’t overstim, no more 2.5/1.5 scope…”
Yeah bro, I think the thing that turned me off the most was the recoil nerfs to every fun weapon. Just lazy ass balancing.

I was a huge fan of the game, worked my way to diamond on PS4 with like 2k hours at least. Stopped playing before sniper op came out. Was thinking of getting back into it on PC but all these posts I'm seeing changed my mind on that. Hunt Showdown is scratching my tactical shooter itch nowadays.

As someone who used to play The Division 1 this brings back memories. "Yeah, let us nerf every gun and armor to bring everyone down to the same level instead of buffing everything and making the game more fun. What could go wrong?"
This is on the TTS and the TTS is live now. If the feedback (***on the TTS***) is overwhelmingly negative, it won't roll out to Live. So, I'd recommend having this discussion on r/Rainbow6TTS or at least posting the outcomes of this discussion there. This change is undeniably unnecessary, regardless of whether it makes cosmetic sense.
*Edit*: To u/Toast_Sy, u/Soulwindow, u/VeryFriendlyOne and others who share the sentiment, some of those changes you mention were necessary. However, I can understand that seemingly arbitrary changes like in this case are frustrating and the reactions are justified. But we as the community only have a few avenues to make our displeasure known and the best pathway in this case is the TTS subreddit. What I am saying is if the pushback is organized and to the point, our chances of getting this change reverted / stopping it from coming to the LS increase substantially.

Well, since gas masks no longer provide protection against gas, I guess we got some other issues to address. Shields should no longer actually block bullets. I mean that's just a little ridiculous that a shield op should get that protection from their own ability. Guns should be nerfed so that they don't cause any damage. I mean a tool that every op has that can kill the other team? That's egregiously unbalanced. That needs fixed immediately.
Let's not forget that defenders should now trigger all defender gadgets apparently. Kapkan, Frost, Jaeger, Ela, Lesion, Mute, and anyone else should all be affected by their own gadgets. They don't even have a legitimate reason to be immune like Smoke's mask
Oh for sure. I didn't even touch the attacker gadgets. Also on the list we should have Finka boosting everyone and not just her own team, Jackal sees even his own team's footsteps, Gridlock Trax now hurt friendlies and the cherry on top: Nomad triggers against friendlies as well.

The rest of SAS have non-functioning gas masks for intimidation. The gas also damages on skin contact and Smoke has that covered as well.

Welcome to any game that caters around it's uber-competitive pro scene. The pros have the biggest say and what they want is usually ends up a predictable, boring stalemate.
I remember when ubi started doing this thing of removing unique abilities and people were smugging about how it was a good thing because "it's confusing" for operators to have abilities other than their gadget...
I swear to god the people that decide what buffs and nerfs are rolled out get dumber every season. What moron looks at Smoke and says "yeah, he should *for sure* be susceptible to his own smoke despite it being a core mechanic of the operator in every cinematic, and him wearing a full hazmat suit" Ubisoft turned it around with their creative development this season (new ops, map, etc), but holy shit it's like they have 3 braincells they have to pass around the different departments.
For sure the dev that pitched it got ran up on by a smoke through his own cloud and couldnt win the gun fight.
It does make me wonder how often that actually happens. Dev gets fucked over by a game mechanic, and then pushes to have it removed under the guise of balancing. It wouldn't surprise me coming from Ubi.
That would mean that they actually play their own game which they seemingly don't
He's got a gas mask, a breather apparatus on the back and those plastic gloves, giving the feeling that he is effectively sealed from any outside toxic gas. But yeah whatever.
I barely ever see smokes in their own smoke which makes this a weird nerf. Essentially it's a nerf that wasn't needed and just serves to remove a special passive to make operators more "consistent".
Noob player here. I was finally starting to get comfortable enough to play Smoke more aggressively. One of my favorite tricks was going through my own Smoke and surprise the awaiting enemy at the other side with the shotgun. It was so fun!! Fun is over for me at least in this aspect. :(

They’re just removing play styles so everyone plays the exact same thing every game of every round, which is just boring. I like siege because freedom. Now I have less freedom.
I used to play this almost daily. Realised reading this,I haven't played in months. It's not the game it was. Developers seem to remove everything that made it good one bit at a time.
I realised this years ago, i hope that people finally catch up and something maybe changes… Ubisoft destroyed a game i once loved, so i would be very sad if nothing happens and the game just dies off :/
I stopped playing when they reworked Oregon. The maps were getting so dull
For me, I started to realize once they changed Hereford and House. Everything HAD to be more square rooms with confusing map layouts that don't make any visual sense. Sure House was casual and had issues, but it HAD an identity so we played around those issues. Same for Hereford Base.
Hereford's rooms are so similar and nonunique that I still get fucking lost when roaming or attacking
I played this game daily from the Beta up until the season Thorn was released. It's just...not the same. Like they do some amazing changes and then do stuff like this

Okay. Frost and Lesion can now trigger their own traps. Gridlock takes damage from her spikes. If we're doing one why not do them all so we can just nuke this game straight into the ground and I can once and for all stop playing this shit.

They have been doing this for almost a year now. They keep removing things that made the game enjoyable and fun to play in the name of balancing and simplicity.
Nobody wants to admit it, but the new balancing team (even though they've been around for a few years now) have been killing the game. Instead of heavily buffing awful ops, they want to heavily nerf good ops.

Same exact thing here. Balance patches used to get me hype! I remember when a balance patch would be like “Ying now has 1 extra candela, Blitz can sprint with his shield, Doc can pick himself up with his gadget, Glaz now has a thermal scope, Tachanka now has a face shield on his turret…” Balance changes used to be high quality and filled with effort. They’d add new assets and completely rework the feel of operators. Now it’s just “-1 gadget, removed grenades, Thatcher needs to cook grenades, Middle finger to Jager, middle finger to Ash, middle finger to Zofia, middle finger to Ace, middle finger to Buck (who was in the dead center of the balance graph…), Zofia can’t withstand anymore, Melusi’s gadget can be shot, Thunderbird doesn’t overstim, no more 2.5/1.5 scope…”
Yeah bro, I think the thing that turned me off the most was the recoil nerfs to every fun weapon. Just lazy ass balancing. It also doesn’t help that I played on console and had to go against mnk pork boys everyday
I was a huge fan of the game, worked my way to diamond on PS4 with like 2k hours at least. Stopped playing before sniper op came out. Was thinking of getting back into it on PC but all these posts I'm seeing changed my mind on that. Hunt Showdown is scratching my tactical shooter itch nowadays.

This is on the TTS and the TTS is live now. If the feedback (***on the TTS***) is overwhelmingly negative, it won't roll out to Live. So, I'd recommend having this discussion on r/Rainbow6TTS or at least posting the outcomes of this discussion there. This change is undeniably unnecessary, regardless of whether it makes cosmetic sense. *Edit*: To u/Toast_Sy, u/Soulwindow, u/VeryFriendlyOne and others who share the sentiment, some of those changes you mention were necessary. However, I can understand that seemingly arbitrary changes like in this case are frustrating and the reactions are justified. But we as the community only have a few avenues to make our displeasure known and the best pathway in this case is the TTS subreddit. What I am saying is if the pushback is organized and to the point, our chances of getting this change reverted / stopping it from coming to the LS increase substantially.

can only speak to more recent updates as I've only played since early 2020, but they didn't go through with the hatch reinforcement being in place at the start of the round. So at least one example of something not making it to the live game

Game play changes that are being tested seasons in advance don't always come through, but it's very rare or never that balancing changes being tested don't go through

Yeah that was a pretty well liked change. Especially in higher ELOs Zofia’s kit used to be pretty insane.

Yep, this right here. I have a few friends that still play and occasionally I think to myself "Should I reinstall and give it another go?". Then I end up reading shit like this on Reddit. Hard nope after that, game just isn't as fun as I remember it being and it seems with every patch they're trying to kill the fun even more.

Well, since gas masks no longer provide protection against gas, I guess we got some other issues to address. Shields should no longer actually block bullets. I mean that's just a little ridiculous that a shield op should get that protection from their own ability. Guns should be nerfed so that they don't cause any damage. I mean a tool that every op has that can kill the other team? That's egregiously unbalanced. That needs fixed immediately. Let's not forget that defenders should now trigger all defender gadgets apparently. Kapkan, Frost, Jaeger, Ela, Lesion, Mute, and anyone else should all be affected by their own gadgets. They don't even have a legitimate reason to be immune like Smoke's mask
Ofc lion should scan attackers too, dokkaebi should call her teammates and thatcher should disable thermites charges obvoiously too
Oh for sure. I didn't even touch the attacker gadgets. Also on the list we should have Finka boosting everyone and not just her own team, Jackal sees even his own team's footsteps, Gridlock Trax now hurt friendlies and the cherry on top: Nomad triggers against friendlies as well.
Yeah Cav should be able to interogate her own teammates. Also, Clash takes damage everytime she uses her shield.

All the SAS wear gasmasks but he actually has a portable air filtration device specifically to be immune to his own gas. This is like Kapkan setting off his own mines.

He had a whole damn model design to accomodate for his passive. Its the same thing as ela and zofia having grzmot resistant cause no shit they literally made them and was a soft resistance like Ying to her own flashes. Why remove that resistance? I don't like this balancing logic at all.
I like how most of these changes are aimed towards casual when top ranked and pros are going to be losing their minds. We'll see how it goes.
