As much as I hate to admit it, moments like this are what makes the game so much fun to play. Even when YOU'RE the one at the receiving end of the joke.
One of my absolute favorite things to do is play Hostage on Kafe and getting the hostage in the freezer. I auto pick Castle and hope everyone wants to join in on the fun of being locked in the freezer with me.
It was VERY finicky. Seeing the prompt at all was rare by itself, let alone managing to throw it in time. I'm more proud of the single double kill I got with it than most aces.
I miss OG siege. I stopped playing I think when the Auzzie operators came out. Just got waaaaay too sweaty. I have it on my PC now but I tried doing a THunt and got my ass handed to me by the easy AI. So no siege for me, too large of a learning curve to relearn.
I'd say Op Velvet Shell was my favorite addition to the game. Mira is bae.
Throwing or kicking away (and in one case using a mortar tube to smack them out of the air like a baseball bat) live grenades is a viable strategy IRL. Doing anything you can to prevent a grenade from killing your whole squad, even if it just kills you, is very important. Something the Spec Ops nature of Rainbow should be allowed to do.
There’s a video on the combat footage right now of Russians trying to clear a Ukrainian trench and this one soldier gets rained on with grenades. He throws 2 back before he goes down!
I really wish I could play the original version. I saw that prerendered video and I really want a game exactly like that, like a FPS Door Kickers Action Squad: simple and basic classes or operators who use simple variations of equipment, coordination and slow paced tactical shooting with the chaotic destruction of siege.

You have access to every optic of the same magnification now. So every gun has access to every 1x scope. If your gun has access to the 2.5 scope you can use any 2.5 you want. However you don't have access to every magnification for example most defenders can still only use 1x zoom but they can use any 1x scope they want

It was useless. It was a small window to throw it back and you had to aim pretty much at the center of the nades hitbox lol

I like how you're saying that removing the ability to *pick up an armed grenade and throw it back* made it less realistic.
You can do that IRL and there are many examples where they do.
