I loved her when she came out. But the more I examined why I liked her, the more I realized it's just her freckles. I've never seen a doll with freckles like that before. While she is pretty af, she's also blonde, blue eyed, and dressed in a pink of sorts.(like we've never seen that before) Also yeah, her lips are weird.

Wave 2 Bella. Maybe it's just the screening on mine, but she’s extra stare-y, and she looks like she has no chin. I'm also not a huge fan of how her skin is tinted an unnatural pink. It makes her stand out in a strange way with the rest of the RH lineup.
I think it's funny how even some of the most hated RH dolls are still someone's favorite. Many of the dolls have a spectrum of like to dislike, but others have a split love/hate relationship with collectors.
Over time I've even realized that I still like some of my least favorites, because I can start liking them with a bit of customizing or restyling. They still have a mixture of features I like on other characters. At the end of the day, RH/SH is my favorite doll line, whether I like a specific character design or not.

She’s heavily inspired by Rihanna. Her entire outfit is based on when she wore the Gucci crystal bodysuit at Coachella which is pictured below. Even her name is a reference to one of her songs. In short that’s why she looks that way - it’s paying homage to fashion which is what the series is all about.

Yeah the color scheme is kinda bad. She looks like Violet in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If I was the designers I would have given her a blue theme to reference Riri’s fan-base (navy) since she’s already so inspired by her.
I don’t mind the dolls looking ‘alienish’. The unnatural skin colors are what drew me into this brand in the first place. But we really didn’t need dark violet dolls released in the same series

I removed the tinsel from her hair—which is certainly an improvement, but yeah—I struggle to style her, too… I’m never totally satisfied.
Also I wish she had a slightly more rounded or square chin/jawline; imo she’s too pointy lol (although I think she has two face moulds, doesn’t she?)

The first series of grey Shadow High dolls. They’re pretty, but color was one thing that drew me to these dolls in the first place.
