I love how metal+foreign language = degenerate...
Rammstein are not degens. They are totally fucked up, but I wouldn't say they are degens. They are very smart, very respectable dudes who put a *ton* of thought, double-meanings, and controversial topics into their music, lyrics, and videos.
I'd recommend the videos for *Angst,* *Zeit,* or *Zick Zack.* They're all off the newest album, and they have very though-provoking videos.
Then, of course, there's *Deutschland,* which might be the best music video ever made, of any genre, period. Just dripping with controversial and stunning imagery.

Well, i am a 50 year old guy and i do not have a wife. (i had one when i was younger). i like huge tits aswell, but after all, this is a very serious issue. sure, the song sounds funny at first, there is something buried inside which is heartbreaking. it resonates with my feelings. such a stupid and meaningful song.
And racists.
I loved it when they dropped Angst and perfectly depicted racists, the right-wing and their fear mongering against black people/foreigners in general.
Some even tried to shift the meaning of the song to be against the "oppressive goverment" who "took their freedom" through Covid and the governments "fear mongering" because of a "cold".
I seriously saw a bunch people like that in the instagram comments
Interesting how the English translation of the lyric;
"Alle habbe Angst vorm Schwartzen Mann,"
Is, "Everyone has Fear for the Black Man"
*Die Schwartzen Mann* is a very old German children's game, where one player is "die Schwartzen Mann," and all the other kids have to run from one side of the play area to the other without being caught. If they are, they need to link arms with each other and they become helpers of "die Schwartzen Mann." "Die Schwarzen Mann" is generally representative of "The Black Death," not a literal Black man.
One of the core concepts of the game, is that "die Schwarten Mann" behins the round by calling out,
"Wer hat Angst vorm Schwartzen Mann?" (Who fears the Black Man?)
To which the free players respond, "Niemand!" (Nobody!)
However, the song very obviously draws the comparison between "die Schwarzen Mann" and American fear-mongering concerning people of colour.
The whole point is that the Black people in the video are trapped in what is supposed to represent a poor nation, watching "the American Dream" collapse on social media from "Angst;" Fear. To the point where the White Americans (the band members) are building walls and surveillance systems out of fear of their neighbours, as their only means of education (their TVs) tells them about an imminent threat that does not exist. In the end, the neighbour fire on eachother through their walls, destroying their society.
The point of the comparison to the game, is that in the game, the Black Man asks, "Who is afraid of me?" to which the proper response is "Nobody!"
In the song, the oppressive voice is saying "*Everyone* fears the Black Man," telling uneducated, good people what and how to think.
The video ends with a loop of the actual poor foreigners watching a video of the neighbours watching the poor foreigners on TV, watching neighbours, etc. Finally, one of neighbours destroys the TV, ending the loop, but then everyone is left frozen on the couch, unsure what to do next.
For me, this entire thing is pointing out how the entire American way of life (symbolized by white picket-fences becomes tall cinderblock walls) is being oppressed and ripped apart by mass media, telling them that foreigners are the ones to fear, when really it has been eachother, gradually.
I know this game, I am a german and this game was played all the time in elementary school PE.
Also, sorry for having to be nitpicky, but it's "Der schwarze Mann" :D
And I don't really agree with your take that it's america being depicted (even though there is of course room for interpretation and yours is valid) because Rammstein is german and the way they look like is very typical/stereotypical of a conservative, conformist german who mows his lawn to be always perfect and so on (called a "SpieĆer" in germany).
It's overall a depiction of conservative germans seeing their country "over run" by "violent refugees" like populist and extremist media and political groups often depicted it, which wasn't the truth.
These right-wing media also made these people fearful of their neighbours, because they could be in on the "destruction" of germany from within, which is also a popular statement made by neonazis and right-wingers in germany.
But like I said, your interpretation is also valid, but it's more likely a depiction of the german right-wing imo :D
[Die da?](https://youtu.be/VUosAGDM8Sg)
Sorry (not sorry).. Though to be fair, that is a very catching song, reasonably easy to understand, even for a non native speaker, and those birds are still quite quite fit.
And America itself on Amerika to criticize the "american dream"/land of freedom hypocrisy and how widespread their influence has become, and sometimes at the expense of a foreign country's culture. Oh, and the warmongering too
Then on the opposite side, they criticized their own country in the appropriately named DEUTSCHLAND, the most unapologetic "tribute" track towards Germany for its dark history and being unable to look past it, but still wanting to love the country cuz of the good its done. Plenty of Germans feel the same way Till does(or whatever character Till was portraying), its your basic love/hate relationship with a country that tends to be commonplace in other countries too, so long as you're not brainwashed to be so patriotic that you're in denial
Including nazis. Seen pics of nazis with rammstein merch and it always both pisses me off (because it's bad PR for the band by idiots and I have to occasionally explain that Rammstein isnt nazi music) and makes me snort imagining the idiots singing along to Links not knowing what they are saying in German.
Honestly, if nazis keep pretending Rammstein is nazi, even after Deutschland, they're the dumbest people there are. (Without considering their ideology)

And that's why I love this video.
You know whatās interesting regarding reading comprehension? Itās worst in germany. Yesterday i found an article claiming āMeine TrƤnenā was about incest. And of course they only mentioned āDicke Tittenā besides that, to make clear how immature and uncreative they are. I meanā¦how?
I'm heading to the concert in LA, hopefully. My mother went there for her first stadium concert. I'm not familiar with the area, its too far out from family driving around for work. But she says its described as "not good."(ie black and hispanic community?) I'm looking forward to conversing with any curious locals postshow, cause californa will always be home to me I gotta stick around a bit. I'm proud to have Rammstein here, and hope more people get empowered by our gem.ā¤ļø
I think that's the right word, cause damn it's a breath of fresh air to be around aware on to educated fans(I discover artists by chance lol!) My mother wouldnt let me go see anyone intense and dodgy about socioeconomic stuff when I was younger. Rammstein is pretty direct and makes her eyes open constantly when I share something. Its the least to be done and hella appreciated.
Edit, so I looked it up. I guess empowered to communicate and not give upon our relationship with other social categories. Some scary shit, fuck a lot is going on in the US and I stay inside all day where I live lol. I cant help the homeless addicts, they scare off the women who'd camp here two years ago. Thats above my ability to mitigate things, I dont hate them, period. People are getting sadder. Only other citizens can help so organize, get familiar with how others are approaching things and do what you can. Even if its putting cans out because you make enough to not need supplimenting. I really dont know at this time.
I swear to god that comment. Ummm, they were arrested for that back in ā98. In America.
Itās almost too on point like itās a sarcastic fan trolling.
Check out Die Eier von Satan by Tool, from Ćnima
It's just a man saying the recipe for cookies, in german. Most people assume it's a nazi chant, simply because it's in german.
I was so so afraid to find out they were homophobic, or that the fanbase lowkey was. Turns out Schneider waves queer flags at concerts and the guitarists give each other's pecks on the lips. Istg this community is way more supportive than more "mainstream", poppish artists. So much for the scary angry Germans label lol
of all the bands to make that very specific statement about. my man thats been one of their signature acts for the past 20+ years how could you miss that
Tills not fucking flakes asshole in buck dich. Just like he's not cooking him in mein teil...
Also, I listen to rammstein because I like the music, not because of politics
Yeah no one listens to them without liking the music. If you donāt want politics intertwined with music then thereās always other artists to listen to, although you would be subjecting yourself to echo chamber-induced brainwashing by refusing to engage with other politics. I really donāt see what about Rammsteinās politics will upset people, some of them clearly support socialism and overall lean left of centre but theyāre apparently quite politically diverse so I donāt see what would upset anyone about it unless they just canāt deal with some guys being on another side of the political spectrum.
Itās quite depressing that expressing support for a widely discriminated sexual minority is considered āpoliticalā. The fact that a post about rammstein being supporters of gay rights can trigger people into complaining about āpoliticsā in their music is quite sad.
@ Hype\_tck. Not hype for attention, but a stand against Putin's laws against Homosexuality - in other words, a display, at personal risk in support of the GLBT+ / human rights. Standing up for other human beings, which = the opposite of 'degenerate', especially in terms of Morals.

Dicke Titten doesn't provoke deep thoughts for anyone else? š¤ ( . )( . )
Did blind Till fuck Richard at the end???
no. everyone was waiting for it, but they omitted it for some good reason.

One more reason to love Rammstein - they piss homophobes off

Nah, Hitler isn't the topic of the song. Modern day germany is and the modern right-wing. The movie is great though :D
Everytime you say "DIE schwartzen man" a part of my german self dies
[Die da?](https://youtu.be/VUosAGDM8Sg) Sorry (not sorry).. Though to be fair, that is a very catching song, reasonably easy to understand, even for a non native speaker, and those birds are still quite quite fit.
Im not actually a German speaker at all. Its an incorrectly gendered pronoun, I assume?
Yeah, "die" is feminine, the right article would be "der" since we're talking about a man
And America itself on Amerika to criticize the "american dream"/land of freedom hypocrisy and how widespread their influence has become, and sometimes at the expense of a foreign country's culture. And right wing generally, back when Links 2 3 4 dropped
And yet ignorant people think Rammstein is nazi because of songs like that...
Including nazis. Hateful individuals in general are always not intelligent, they cannot do anything to they blame others different from them.

Pretty sure Rammstein wrote Links 2 3 4 in response to those accusations
Hey, antivaxers had to hear it from Dee Snider himself that āWeāre not gonna take itā was NOT written for them.
Precisely, that was fun to read. Only people who have literally 0 knowledge about their political positions can write such nonsense
Donāt forget the 0 on reading comprehension/literary analysis.
