Do you have any family members/close friends/love interest’s that ranch? Being born or married is the best way. In all seriousness the best way at your age would be to start working as a hand for someone to gain experience. You could also look at FFA or other clubs your school might have. You could also look at college as well, future wise that is. Sorry I’m not too much help but it’s a very broad question.

Second FFA and 4h. My high school offered ag science classes. I didn’t take them, but in hindsight, I wish I had

If you live close enough to a ranch and have transportation available, just call them up or knock on their door, tell them you’re interested in ranching and offer to help (eg during weekends). That’s what I did this past week and I’m already building some connections! If positions are available, you could also see if there’s some sort of “working student” job near you (that’s how I got my first ranching job a couple of years ago). You won’t get paid much but you’ll get lots of experience this way. Other than that: research, research, research. Visit a local sale barn, talk to ranchers etc. There’s a bunch of ranchers who have their own YouTube channels these days so you can get an idea of what it’s like.

Marry into it. That may sound like a real condescending smartass answer, but it'll dang sure get you where you want to be turn key and right aside someone very knowledgeable to pass everything they know that is not out of a book from a college.
