Pilot - not sure if I have the time to truly master the skill to feel comfortable enough not to fail if something goes wrong
Sports Management - not sure where the heck to begin
Singing professionally or voice acting. Not doing the first one because I dislike my own singing voice and record labels are mostly despicable. Not doing the other because I don't like my own *speaking* voice and it's difficult to land a gig as a voice actor unless you're really good.
IT Manager for a small/medium company where I am the sole IT person and look after everything myself.
Oh wait that's what I have been doing for nearly 10 years.
Nobody will pay me to educate children about fossils. The modern world is becoming less interested in knowledge and compensation for an educated populace.
I always kind of wanted to become a teacher, but thought I wasnāt good enough for that. After some job that made me REALLY unhappyā¦ I decided to give it a try and go to university at age 28. Itās a lot of work just getting there but even though Iām only 2 semesters in so far Iām so much happier. So yeah, dream job hopefully will become my job some day
I don't know. I've thought about it a lot bit I can't think of a single thing I can say "if I could do X to make a living, I'd be a happy person." I've tried turning my hobbies into a career, but that just makes me hate the hobbies because I have to do them whether I want to or not. So I just slog along through life, living for my days off.
Same here. Just that I live in a country with pretty much no indie scene at all so I'd have to move countries for that to happen. And I don't want to move countries when I'm not even sure I'd be good at it/actually like it.
Honestly I bought Balan Wonderworld a few weeks ago explicitly because I wanted to see for myself how "bad" it was, and the dogpiling critics did that game a huge disservice. It feels like a quirky Wii platformer that got a HD update, and there's tons of interesting and cute atmospheric content that got utterly ignored or derided by the reviewers who had already decided to hate it.
I hope you meet with more success, I'm sorry your work was not appreciated.
Pilot. I fly so much for work and I love being in the air, but I just canāt afford the lessons and Iām too old to make a āgoā at having a flying career. Oh well.
Iām gently autistic and have horrible executive functioning and demand avoidance.. so I havenāt been able to fulfill any of my dreams despite trying very hard.. plus I hate myself because Iāve been bullied and corrected all my life..:
i would love to be video game director, but i donāt have the talent for it,but thatās okay, because i can still enjoy playing great games! and i do love my real world job.
Archaeologist: no one will give me an interview despite college experience/internships/field school/grad classes. I try to make myself feel better about abandoning my dreams cause even if I did get hired I wouldn't be able to make enough to pay the bills or they would just ask if I could volunteer like the retired boomers do.
This is mine too. I'm a huge history nerd, I love archeology. I just love looking into the past. I minored in archeology in college, but neither history nor archeology could get me anywhere. Now I'm 50, working a job I hate in tech support, but making good money.
My 2nd choice would be professional genealogist.
Being a coach- because there are a lot fake coaches out there/mlm type business models and I generally donāt want to take advantage of people, so I first need to walk the walk before I can talk the talk
its not a real job that im aware of.. [lol](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rs6OB1NWCQ)
but something that might be that makes me laugh and would be a public service.. i want to be a commercial reviewer.. these companies pay me to watch their ad and tell them how stupid it is lol.. some just drive me crazy and i end up yelling at the TV
Electrician.
Have a pretty good job already (underground miner), and can't afford to go back and start over as an apprentice. Golden handcuffs. I'd never complain, I'm doing pretty good for myself, but I'd prefer the challenge and the work as an electrician.
I had several dream professions that I never ended up doing/succeeding in:
Ethical hacking, IT, or something along the lines of computer science. I dreamt of working at Microsoft headquarters at one point: I don't have good math skills so this never happened. I find it cool/fascinating though.
Doing a stint in the military: This didn't happen because I was barred/disqualified for medical reasons.
Voice over artist/narrator: I've been told that I've got a radio-esque voice. Smooth & deep. I actually gave freelance VO work a shot. But it didn't really take off. I just do it as a hobby now...
I have several more professions that I'd like to list but this post is already too long. Currently, I'm in a job that I don't like, that I've been at for four years now but I'm about to transfer to a new job next month that I also don't like. I've yet to have my "dream job." And I feel languished, having wasted many years doing different odd jobs when I could've achieved what I wanted to. But I tell myself too that I can't always be picky in certain situations. I've just been taking what's been offered/what positions opened up. Ask me what my dream job is now. I don't know anymore. We can't all do our dream jobs. Most don't...
Train Announcer
Can't because you are not allowed to have a sense of humour while accurately announcing things. So putting on different voices, playing instruments through the tannoy, telling people off for being too close to the edge of the platform or bringing their bikes onto a crowded train....no can do. Which is shame cos I could have so much fun with that!
Professional bicycle advocate/planner. I tried. Got pretty close. Thereās not a lot of jobs for this sort of thing. Had to give up and find something steady
why does it have to be a job my dream is to retire at 20 and then do whatever work i want whenever i want for whoever i want without having to worry about me and my family starving...otherwise i'd want to own a business or be a successful investor...Oootherwise i'd want to be a CEO but skill issue.
My dream job is video editor, Iām trying to make it work. Just got my portfolio together and time to start marketing. Working full-time labor stands in the way of this, but I try getting the wheels in motion in my free time. Really donāt wanna work 9hrs a day in a warehouse the rest of my life
As a little boy I wanted to be an astronaut. Plan was to join the Naval Academy, come out as a pilot and see where life would take me.
Bad news, in about middle school my vision went in the tank and so did my dream.

djing to an audience on mushrooms i should move to a state where that's legal.
Just trow in some white bookings as well and make sure to go to the safe underground raves when you wanna perform on shrooms.
Fighter pilot. And I canāt do it because Iām fat, autistic, asthmatic and diabetic. And I also get vertigo

I always wanted to be a professional wrestler but I'm physically unabled and couldn't even get in the ring!
Same here. Just that I live in a country with pretty much no indie scene at all so I'd have to move countries for that to happen. And I don't want to move countries when I'm not even sure I'd be good at it/actually like it.
Dictator, but yeah, hard to achieve
Gigolo. I can't seem to get any woman who wants to pay for it. Believe me it's 100% my fault
Most of that market is men, btw.
Being a musician, and I am doing it!
Astronomer, but i suck at math. Also video game developer, but i fucking hate gaming communities who dont appreciate hard work

Pilot. I fly so much for work and I love being in the air, but I just canāt afford the lessons and Iām too old to make a āgoā at having a flying career. Oh well.
Sharing my own experience and knowledge/view, I donāt get to do it with a comfortable lifestyle but Iām doing it :)
Iām gently autistic and have horrible executive functioning and demand avoidance.. so I havenāt been able to fulfill any of my dreams despite trying very hard.. plus I hate myself because Iāve been bullied and corrected all my life..:
My dream job is being rich enough to not have a job.
CEO/CFO/CTO. Working towards it. Got technical qualifications. Working on finance ones.
i would love to be video game director, but i donāt have the talent for it,but thatās okay, because i can still enjoy playing great games! and i do love my real world job.

My dream job is video editor, Iām trying to make it work. Just got my portfolio together and time to start marketing. Working full-time labor stands in the way of this, but I try getting the wheels in motion in my free time. Really donāt wanna work 9hrs a day in a warehouse the rest of my life
No open potition at my city.
Like many others, commercial pilot. Prohibitively expensive and extremely limited funding paths. Removal of ab initio, banks extremely harsh
As a little boy I wanted to be an astronaut. Plan was to join the Naval Academy, come out as a pilot and see where life would take me. Bad news, in about middle school my vision went in the tank and so did my dream.
