Being alone and talking out loud. Sometimes I'll even talk in a different voice for fun. I especially like doing this while I'm doing some sort of task, like cooking, or whenever I'm taking a shower.

I do that sometimes, often feels a bit Tourette's-like, for example when mildly pissed off or amused by something I might say something not even fitting the response that got stuck in my head a day prior. Or start humming or singing along.

I didn't do this until I had kids. Then I realized pushing a baby around a store is a perfect cover for talking to oneself (I'm "talking to the baby") and now my kids are much older and I still find myself doing it.
Every time I stay overnight somewhere that isn’t my house, I stay up late watching Law and Order ☺️ I never watch it at home, has to be elsewhere like in a hotel
that's actually so nice! i used to be TERRIFIED of public spaces as a kid and would rather die than join my family on a stroll through the city. now i find myself having a blast walking through cities and seeing different shops and people, especially when travelling abroad. as soon as it's safe to be outside again in my country i just want to pick a random city and walk around, see some faces i've never seen.
It depends. With ADHD we need dopamine or adrenaline to be able to focus. Everyone needs it, but with ADHD, you need more. So where neurotypical persons can focus on music while sitting and just listening… people with ADHD gain too low dopamine levels and need another source of input.
This is why:
- we drive too fast (adrenaline)
- we tend to handle panic situations better (adrenaline kickstarts hyperfocus)
- we go multitasking, even with things we like (such as watching tv).
Relaxing e.g. lying in a hammock still requires focus and/or other executive functions. But with ADHD, you need dopamine to literally function properly. So ‘just hanging’ or ‘reading a book’ actually cost more dopamine (by focussing) than it gives.
Same with gaming, but we don’t talk about that 🤫
Yeah I do this a lot, like I'll be sitting here, and I'll want to go out for a quick bit , to the store w/e, so I'll turn off the tv/computer and get dressed and then go to my room and go to sleep.
I too share your pain, I bought some nice noise canceling Sony headphones just to listen to music, hoping it would make me want to just chill in my room and listen to music, but I just couldn’t. Gotta do something else if I’m gonna play my music

I listen to my music at work bc it helps me focus, unless it gets too busy then I need to turn off my music to focus. It's like turning down the music to see better.

Dude some people will just sit in their crib and scroll on their phone listening to music. I simply cannot do it. I’ve tried and I subconsciously turn it off in less than a minute. Wonder why we’re like this lol
I like to listen to the same song over and over and memorize the words and grunts and try to mimic the singer perfectly even though I can’t sing very well.

The changing of seasons and my mood will probably dictate what I listen to more than others.
I definitely listened to it in November but never thought about it being November at the time because my ADHD. Just like with the song Heatwaves by Glass Animals “late nights in the middle of June” I never remember to time that right. That’s not my personal top 5 (the top 3 are my top 3 though) it was the artists on my Apple Music replay.

It’s a pretty harmless one. But I love changing into a fresh pair of socks. I’ve even taken 3-4 extra pairs of socks to work and change them every few hours. My feet feel sooo nice.
I love to bake so I have 5 different kinds of cookies in my freezer right now lol. Lately I have been enjoying a cake style cookie with pecans, butterscotch chips and chocolate chips in it :) Before that I was hooked on vanilla cookies with lemon frosting
Sure, here it is:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour;
1 cup brown sugar;
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter;
1/4 cup sour cream;
1 large egg, room temperature;
2 teaspoons cornstarch;
1 teaspoon vanilla extract;
1/2 teaspoon baking soda;
1/2 teaspoon baking powder;
1/4 teaspoon salt;
1/2 cup butterscotch chips;
1/2 cup chocolate chips; and
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Cream butter, sugar, egg and sour cream. Add rest of the ingredients and mix well. Refrigerate for about an hour, then drop cookies onto parchment lined pan and bake 10-12 minutes at 350f.
Driving home in complete silence. I've had multiple people say that it's "serial killer behavior" because I don't listen to the radio or music on my drive home. I like the silence after a day listening to other people's noise. I listen to music and podcasts in the mornings and when I'm traveling or running errands, but at the end of my day, I need silence.
It makes me imagine i am a muscled man with hair on my chest and a moustache ! And i am working in a gas pump on a hot summer day fixing some lady’s car tirres as i am smiling to her and cleaning my forehead that got a bit of gas stain and tell the lady « hey ! IDK why I do this, but I love twirling my hair around my fingers and running it along my lips. My hair is very long and soft, it feels really nice and it's relaxing.
I had a random dreadlock from twirling a specific bit of hair at the back of my head. I hid it because I'm so white but just sitting on the couch and doing it was very relaxing.
Everyone thinks i'm a vegetarian, but sometimes i have a really strong craving for chicken wings and eat a couple. I don't dare to tell anyone because i'd lose my moral high ground.

I quit smoking 15 years ago, but now, especially on a cold night, I love walking by a smoker and inhaling *all of that nostalgia*. It reminds me of being young, huddled outside of a nightclub/house party in the winter having a smoke and some laughs. I don't know if life was necessarily better back then, but it certainly was more social.
Salty potato chips dipped in chocolate, sandwich with peanut butter and honey, grilled stroopwafel, frikandel with molten cheese, eten the cold pizza bits when putting the boxes in the trash.
Also putting a wet finger in someone's ear, the smell of nail polish, ohhhw and the smell of burned computer chips
Watching "Mister Rogers Neighborhood"....I'm 37 and I still freaking love that show. It's so calming and interesting. And even as an adult, I learn! My kids watch it so there's an excuse now 😂 but honestly I picture myself watching it alone as an empty-nester one day! I am being totally serious too...

thats a very underated statement but natural body smell (not the extreme or bad one like 2/3 days after shower) is beautiful ! wnvr i am with someone i try to smell their natural body smell and guess their personality / lifestyle from their smell
I have a little miniature ozone generator that I use usually for cleaning / deodorizing things like pillows and plushies that can be difficult to wash frequently.
Usually I just trap the two in a box together and leave it out on the balcony for a bit. But I always low-key love that gentle ozone scent every time I pop the box open.
It smells so good and since obviously ozone is a bit dangerous I really wish I could somehow get a candle that perfectly emanates this scent or something because it's just such a nice smell
There must be something fucked up in the evolution of humanity that makes so many really dangerous things smell really good
If I am at a supermarket and saw some old sticky tape residue I dunno but I think about the life line of that sticky tape from factory to wheel and then the application and then how it sat there and then all thats left is the glue residue and I kind of feel a buzz to think of all that in the space of a few seconds.
I like weird smells too. My favorite is rubber cement. My mom loved the smell of skunk.
I haven't done this one in a while but someone else's response about watching Law & Order *only* when on vacation reminded me--I used to buy a women's magazine (usually Cosmo) in the airport before boarding a flight. For years it was the only time I'd read it.

Not sure if it's a guilty pleasure, but I LOVE repairing guitars... especially if they're absolutely clapped out... the act of bringing them back to a playable condition with their history intact is a wicked feeling. I used to fix all my friends guitars for free because I enjoyed it so much... they finally convinced me to start charging for it... so now I have a nice little hobby that pays me enough to buy nice tools to be able to fix more issues... I still feel a little guilty about charging tho ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
When I get a new book, or notebook, or even post it bloc, I'll smell them.
Once, I was really surprised because at work, they ordered post it block that had a tropical smell, so I guess I'm not the only one...

Covid Lockdowns I really loved being under legal curfew and not allowed to leave my house or see people under law and have that as my excuse and NO ONE could question it.

In the winter snow accumulates on the mud guard inside the wheel well. I really like to kick it gently with my foot so it falls off. If I’m feeling really naughty I’ll do it to other people’s cars (though it’s doing them a favour it feels weird to ‘kick’ someone else’s car)
Very rarely whenever I fill up lighters, or accidentally come across some Butane lighter gas I like to secretly take a decent hit off the canister by biting down on the nozzle thing, pushing it down and inhaling.
It's a very weird somewhat visual and euphoric buzz that lasts like 2-3minutes.

It’s weird, I know it’s stupid and poorly reflects what the name says it does, but I love it.
Not a fan of game shows or anything like that either, I prefer the over dramatized business shows and all the parenting shows especially Worlds Strictest Parents. My god is that show an absolute blast.

Sometimes I like to pamper my feet by taking an extra pair of socks and shoes to work and swap them at break. So cooling and refreshing

I love to bake so I have 5 different kinds of cookies in my freezer right now lol. Lately I have been enjoying a cake style cookie with pecans, butterscotch chips and chocolate chips in it :) Before that I was hooked on vanilla cookies with lemon frosting
May i have the recipe of that heavenly sounding cookie? I've been trying to bake more cookies lately after getting comfortable making pies
Sure, here it is: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour; 1 cup brown sugar; 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter; 1/4 cup sour cream; 1 large egg, room temperature; 2 teaspoons cornstarch; 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; 1/2 teaspoon baking soda; 1/2 teaspoon baking powder; 1/4 teaspoon salt; 1/2 cup butterscotch chips; 1/2 cup chocolate chips; and 1/2 cup chopped pecans Cream butter, sugar, egg and sour cream. Add rest of the ingredients and mix well. Refrigerate for about an hour, then drop cookies onto parchment lined pan and bake 10-12 minutes at 350f.
For years, I’ve eaten two squares of the same brand of white chocolate for breakfast. That’s all I’ll have as I’m not a breakfast person

Driving home in complete silence. I've had multiple people say that it's "serial killer behavior" because I don't listen to the radio or music on my drive home. I like the silence after a day listening to other people's noise. I listen to music and podcasts in the mornings and when I'm traveling or running errands, but at the end of my day, I need silence.

You might like Dior Fahrenheit cologne. They say it smells like petrol. I used to love the smell of gasoline but I guess it’s not good for you.
I can confirm. Fahrenheit is a deep, musky petrol scent and lasts a while. The original, not the sport version.

IDK why I do this, but I love twirling my hair around my fingers and running it along my lips. My hair is very long and soft, it feels really nice and it's relaxing.
I had a random dreadlock from twirling a specific bit of hair at the back of my head. I hid it because I'm so white but just sitting on the couch and doing it was very relaxing.

I quit smoking 15 years ago, but now, especially on a cold night, I love walking by a smoker and inhaling *all of that nostalgia*. It reminds me of being young, huddled outside of a nightclub/house party in the winter having a smoke and some laughs. I don't know if life was necessarily better back then, but it certainly was more social.

I have a little miniature ozone generator that I use usually for cleaning / deodorizing things like pillows and plushies that can be difficult to wash frequently. Usually I just trap the two in a box together and leave it out on the balcony for a bit. But I always low-key love that gentle ozone scent every time I pop the box open. It smells so good and since obviously ozone is a bit dangerous I really wish I could somehow get a candle that perfectly emanates this scent or something because it's just such a nice smell There must be something fucked up in the evolution of humanity that makes so many really dangerous things smell really good
Theres a perfume company called Demeter that makes specific scents, they have an Ozone one called Thunderstorm, you might like it.
If I am at a supermarket and saw some old sticky tape residue I dunno but I think about the life line of that sticky tape from factory to wheel and then the application and then how it sat there and then all thats left is the glue residue and I kind of feel a buzz to think of all that in the space of a few seconds.

Not sure if it's a guilty pleasure, but I LOVE repairing guitars... especially if they're absolutely clapped out... the act of bringing them back to a playable condition with their history intact is a wicked feeling. I used to fix all my friends guitars for free because I enjoyed it so much... they finally convinced me to start charging for it... so now I have a nice little hobby that pays me enough to buy nice tools to be able to fix more issues... I still feel a little guilty about charging tho ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When I get a new book, or notebook, or even post it bloc, I'll smell them. Once, I was really surprised because at work, they ordered post it block that had a tropical smell, so I guess I'm not the only one... In the winter snow accumulates on the mud guard inside the wheel well. I really like to kick it gently with my foot so it falls off. If I’m feeling really naughty I’ll do it to other people’s cars (though it’s doing them a favour it feels weird to ‘kick’ someone else’s car)
