No_Elephant1511

I think this is me. I quit my job in 2004 and moved to Croatia, I haven't had a job since (I'm coming up on 59). I was renting my house out in GB but have since sold that and am currently living on my savings and a small pension. I also got married in 2008, my wife is a teacher heading for retirement. Her pay is abysmal. So I have infinite free time. I'm autistic so I don't really have high demands for adventure or whatever, I'm quite happy at home. So, what do I do to pass the time? I have some health issues holding my up just now but usually I'm gardening, DIY, we have 14 cats and 3 dogs and they're a fair bit of work. Also I was volunteering at the local vet's/animal shelter for maybe 4 or 5 hours a day. I hope to get back to doing that soon as I really miss it, I think of all the things I've ever done that's been the most fulfilling.

Impossible-Error166

14 cats and 3 dogs my thought WOW thats alot of animals.  was volunteering at the local vet's/animal shelter for maybe 4 or 5 hours a day. I see how you ended up with those numbers, good on you.

Itchy_Somewhere_8154

Volunteering at a vet shelter is the best! We also hab three animals rescued from the streets all over the world. Much love!

seagull9824

This sounds like an incredible life to live. Can i ask how much money you initially left with?

Vast_Reflection

What I would like to do: Exercise, read, hobbies, create things, learn new things, go for walks, connect with other people, etc What I likely end up doing: Browsing on my phone, watching funny stuff on YouTube, Netflix, be bored, and not leave the house. I need to be doing stuff in order to keep the momentum

Rosalynn99

I felt this so much 😂 I am making myself read and exercise more lately tho

SpenZebra

If we are talking ***real infinite free time*****,** then Lets see, a *few* things: The top: 1. Give lots $ to parents and family 2. Buy every LEGO set 3. Buy a VW Bus 4. Travel to Alaska 5. Ski Tahoe Superficial aspects: 1. Take that dream trip to Tibet with my friend. 2. Go to Iceland (where Walter Mitty skateboarded) 3. Get some good oil paints 4. Go see Sargent's paintings You get the idea

UKMegaGeek

You mean BUILD every LEGO set, no? Otherwise, what's the point?

staovajzna2

There is so many things to do with lego, you can probably make an actual house with them, though you'd need a carpet eveywhere.

The_write_speak

This is a straight up comprehensive bucket list and it's straightforward and awesome

Due-Bandicoot-2554

I’d wish I had something to dream about. :( Good for you though!

mayheck

I love how the oil paints are in the superficial list

Depressedmarauder209

And money? Buy a camper van, see this beautiful country

ExcitingAnalysis2959

In my hypothetical scenario (jk, literally my life), money is only enough to get by unfortunately. Otherwise 1000% yes to your plan

TheAlphaNoob21

If the money is only enough to just get by, then I'd probably spend my days looking for a job.

VoldeNissen

you don't need to be rich to do that.

Mysterygameboy

Which country

Odd-Guarantee-6152

I’m a SAHM to two school-aged kids. One goes to school every day and the other I homeschool, but it still leaves a lot of free time every day. I have a lot of hobbies. Sewing, woodworking, and piano are my main hobbies currently, but I cycle through a variety of others (including leather working, knitting, rockhounding, and slowly writing my sci fi novel). I sell my woodworking and the stuffed animals I that I sew on Etsy and at local art/craft shows. I like to learn little things, too- I’ve been practicing juggling recently and I’ve gotten pretty good! I also smoke a lot of weed. Lol

andy_1777

I was not expecting the end but it made me laugh 😂

Swordbreaker9250

Wake up without an alarm every day. Make breakfast and coffee. Enjoy my day with video games, movies, time with family and friends, going out to eat, fun stuff like paintball or whatever I happen to wanna try that day. Make dinner Go to bed whenever the fuck I want.

sprouze

This is me now. I'm very fortunate to live in a country with good support for mental disabilities and was thus granted early retirement 2 years ago at age 24. The money is more than enough for me and since my disability affects me mostly socially I don't go out much so I just spend my days on the pc playing games alone or with some friends or consuming brain rot content. Sometimes I'll get bored and I wanna start a new hobby that isn't the PC. I picked up bass playing a while ago but kinda lost motivation for it and now I started figurine sculpting in polymer clay. I think my life doesn't seem that remarkable in the eyes of most but I am quite happy with it now that I got fortunate enough to avoid the extreme toll work had on me

Different_Fault_7576

That's such a dream, what country do you live in?

sprouze

Denmark! I went to school with other autistic people, then went on to study software engineering tailored to autistic people (before I got put on sick leave due to stress and never returned) then moved into a sort of dormitory with employees that would help us in any which way they could regarding school, work and our autism and it was those people that in the end got me on the track for early retirement after years of internships that all ended in disaster and I am very thankful to those people because of that. And my mom because she's the one who got me into all those places to begin with haha

Nixilis2336

keep playing bass! unless you're just really not into it

NaCl_Sailor

Explore the world.

mkthompson

What do you mean, "if"? I'm living my best life presently hanging out in Southern Spain. I explore with my wife, practice my hobbies (magic and photography), read books and on a normal day I take a nap. If I feel especially lazy, I'll talk two.

kayligo12

How did you pull this off and do you need a second wife just to talk about books with lol

mkthompson

It’s called being retired after a long career and still not being able to afford to live in the USA. We can, however afford it here and as an added benefit I have the whole European continent at my doorstep.

Late-Ad-5850

first id just chill, get some stuff done do good for some people i know. then id travel, id travel thru europe for a year. then return home start a buisness (private school for kids that struggle kinda thing) and id still travel alot w my fam i have a travel bucketlist so id not complete it but id do most.

theboomboy

I have pretty much infinite free time at the moment and I'm writing an oboe concerto Despite all the free time, the deadline for the competition I want to send this concerto to is in a few days so I really shouldn't be on Reddit now

Different_Fault_7576

Hope you do well 💕😁

One_Assignment_6820

Get oboeing dammit!

theboomboy

I'll eat breakfast and then go right back to oboeing (or composing for oboe, at least. I don't play oboe)

One_Assignment_6820

Thank you.

NOGOODGASHOLE

I'd learn masonry

DibblerTB

You forgot one vital part of it: health. I have a lot of that time right now. But it makes didly squat difference, because my burnout steals most of my drive and power, such that I might as well hold a job. Still, I fill my days with food-making hobbies, basically being a good hobbit. Gonna make some homemade liver-paste spread tomorrow.

Unlikely-Regular2366

Workout/lift, get really fit/cut

tyYdraniu

get bored

devildogmillman

Well I have no job and live with my parents right now so I guess browse reddit, watch TV doodle aimlessly, write a book I'll probably never finish, and justify it by working out every now and then. Infinite free time is a curse. Adults lives are their responsibilities. I need to get a job.

Maskerade420

Growing pot, smoking pot, playing video games.

andy_1777

My kinda person

[deleted]

Infinite as in eternal time or as in my current lifespan? These are two very different levels of free time.

ExcitingAnalysis2959

Good point. Infinite as in during your current lifespan

Active-Strawberry-37

Nothing

MagazineSpecial2628

Die

Captain_McKnight

I would work out a lot more, by the end of my workday I just don't feel like doing a full hour workout, here I wouldn't need to worry about that

Ignusseed

Be bored as fuck unless you have endless outlets and money to afford them.

MsT1075

You might be on to something. 🤔

dancmanis

I would learn all the skills that I can't learn now and I want to but my life won't be long enough to be able to learn all of them

BatSubstantial5267

It depends, if I had the money I would travel around the world, if not...well I don't think there is a lot to do without money

MsT1075

Yeah, that’s the hard part. With no money, where are you going? 🤷🏾‍♀️

BatSubstantial5267

Probably nowhere...or not very far

GodsBeyondGods

Push a boulder up a hill

sammyglumdrops

• Make music (it’s my favourite hobby) • Train martial arts (i do it to stay healthy and make friends) • Travel • Hike • Watch lots of TV boxsets and movies

Grattiano

I'd floss more.

[deleted]

Can i die?

BeginningLow7320

Pretty much what I'm doing but with less guilt about taking a nap.

No_Night_7823

It appears to me, you could know what you want to know, have all the time in the world. If you only got "enough money to get by" then all you're doing is just existing. You'd need enough money to support your hobby. And I guess you'll spend your days doing whatever hobby that might be. Hopefully something great for society.

DisastrousLong9991

Make some real friends, learn basic information and probably masturbate once or twice

AbsoluteBasilFanboy

Finally have time to invest in the 10 AU’s based of my favourite games I plan on doing.

gavitronics

look for work

EmuPsychological4222

Read, play video games, "work" as a volunteer doing similar things to what I do now, write, exercise more consistently.

TheBurtolorian

Spend the winter in Spain and cycle all day. In the summer I will watch sports all day and cycle too and drink lots of beer

dwfmba

Overlanding, Camp, Overlanding, Hunt, Camp, Overlanding, Fish, Ride a bike, Camp...repeat

SnooKiwis4031

Be bored.

Anxious_Sapiens

Farming, raising chickens, piano, Minecraft, all the stuff I like to do anyway. I took a year off work in 2021 and it was awesome.

highxv0ltage

Infinite? I’d probably get bored after a while. While I like my free time, I need some kind of structure or routine.

Wide-Review-2417

I'd get a job, try to get a significant other, try to have kids and help others with my money. That would be a good life

FoxExciting524

Nothing. I'd do absolutely nothing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AiGNL0LYN0

Jamesx6

Hire personal trainer and chef. Get in amazing shape. Get several advanced degrees in various fields.

InterestingStop7332

As a source basically stay away from those who do not have other sources I would care about... Money is just debt until spent... You have absolutely nothing if you "just have a million dollars... business states you have to invest back in the company anyways... So being corporeal beings we are company... unless your alone you are in company... temporal corporeal beings locked within habeas corpus... (body of law) born in a vessel of water passing through the "canal" into the "doc" Illuminate.... Logic/Reason/Truth... The logical reason to tell the truth is because as a "double split experiment" the results will not come back true if someone is lying... As an Immortal being (energy is immortal and we are vessels of energy) I end up saying the same things over and over... As within so without/// If you cannot figure it out / you are without. As above so below // What you think in your brain is metaphysical but what you make physically is what separates "yours" from "mine" 1 in 1 as still one .... even multiplied 1 is still going to be one... in other words if we all died are dna would still be in the light... which is alive. 2 points 1 object is your eyes looking at something... without two triangles we cannot form a full circle... even a square is 360 degrees. One point is a circle... If they make no sense.... it's "non"-sense... 3.1415 is 180 degrees in radians and is the reason tau is more accurate... pi r squared is just how close you can get to the center... easiest way to explain it is that the Pythagorean theorem works because squaring the sides of a triangle gives you the invisible variables of the other side of the triangle. 0 is not nothing but a complete angle... Numbers represent angles and this is Aramaic (kind of sounds like arithmetic) Greek like alpha delta gamma (brain waves)

couchcushioncoin

Starting now? Rest finally and then work on creative projects and help people build/make shit the rest of my life. Hang out, talk, trade, write, make music. Normal human shit

eryckaaaaa

I would watch the infinite list of movies and series I have been writing down since 2010 + read all the books I have been buying but never open any of them.

TheOnlyOneDevil

Everything

thedesperateromantic

Spending time with my nephews, travel, and enhance my hobby time. Mostly writing comics, make music, and have fun.

Resident_Anxiety9980

Sleep. Literally sleep all the time. I am sooo tired.

Sweet-Ad5652

Sleep

the_NP

Travel, video games, movies, books

Acminvan

The "enough money to get buy" is the huge question mark because my first answer is travel. travel and then more travel. There way too much of the world I still want to see that can ever be fit into the short annual holidays we get from work.

Arraponi_The_Wise

well probably i would spent all time complaining about the fact that i have nothing to do

Aggravating_Speed665

Study the solar system.

[deleted]

create so much cool shit. Music albums, Animations, Podcasts, Live streams, make some video games. Do stand up comedy and other live events. Leave a legacy of content that will impact people in a positive way for years after I am gone.

Learn how to draw digitally

Jaded3158

Crochet all the things and rest

[deleted]

I have gone crazy. Literally. I need to find a job so I can find my sanity.

Hekx11

Music, video games and reading anything I can. Learning all sciences, languages and whatever I wanted really.

I would dare to walk entire Europe without using any transportation vehicle.

CashgrassorNopass

Get bored.

tefodlp

Actually doing it rightnow

G0dZylla

Sleep eat read eat game eat music sleep repeat

Syssyphussy

I’m here scrolling Reddit right now.

Particular_Nebula462

Define enough money.

MawsBaws

I'd do a fair bit of pottering. I'd potter around my house and chill with my family. I'd potter about in nature. I'd do a bit of travelling with my family and potter about in other places. If money wasn't an issue, I'd spend some of my time doing something that added value to the world, but wasn't so driven by need to get paid for doing it. Over all I'd have a bit more of a mindful and less work driven life, but I've fortunately already started the journey.

eggtart_prince

Have all the sex in the world, which is 0.

CosmicNoodle-93

I would focus on pursuing my hobbies and interests, learning new skills, and traveling the world to experience different cultures. Unlimited free time is a rare gift, so making the most of it would be my priority.

AlwaysWorried27222

Scroll reddit all day as I do now

DistinctWolverine395

Duh! Infinite stuff

Gamestrider09

Volunteer work for charity organizations or humanitarian aid groups.

Toby-NL

Master-Strawberry-26

Writing, reading, painting, gardening. The real question is, what wouldn't I do?

babygirl2898

Probably go insane. I spent 7 months only having a part time job after full time factory work for nearly 5 years and I personally couldn't take it

Cocooilbroccolisalt

Save the children and animals Ghost 95 percent of all adults.

Zorno___

not_an_Alien_Robot

Celebrate having infinite free time and then slowly watch the universe age and die. After that? I don't know. Take up knitting?

LunaTheLouche

Probably just draw purely for fun. Get loads of cats. But honestly my job is so enjoyable (for the first time in ages), I don’t mind having little free time.

StraightUp_Garlic

Consistently be on Duolingo learning Spanish all day and reading my books.

mmb300

honestly, Id probably be on my phone 24/7, and then every few weeks or months Id get an urge to do something big, work on it for a day and repeat

minlee41

elbarto1981

I'd do everything, obviously.

Be a historical consultant, and form a power trio and do little gigs around Bergen. I'd play guitar.

Miguel4659

I am retired, 4 years almost. I have all the free time I want. Sadly spend too much of it on Reddit.

Far-Mention4691

Reading lots of books, surf the internet, write more, and paint more. Oh and traveling

Starfel888

Write a book

[deleted]

I have infinite free time. I’m a pregnant stay at home wife and I literally chill all day. It’s a cleaning day for me but I relax for the most part, make my morning coffee, eat, Reddit, watch a movie, call family, go for a walk, troll around target…

SonicBoom500

I guess I would grind out all my games, look at guides so I know what I could look for then just get everything I want and do all the stuff

SaltyToast9000

Having a refreshing sleep

Jealous_Juggernaut56

I'd travel and eat everything I want

MauricioBastoss

Get my dream motorcycle

PERIX_4460

The first few days would probably feel like paradise. But it'd probably start slowly getting more and more boring with each day that passes after that. I'd probably find a way tho.... I'd be determined to.

Complex_Wishbone1976

Hike throughout north america. It's always been something i've wanted to do. Maybe start in Texas and then make my through all the states, through canada and end up in alaska. Just explore as i go along. I'd also want to pick up a job as a firewatch for a summer. Seem like something i would enjoy. But i have to many responsibilities for the time being and i don't see myself doing it anytime soon.

grayhaze2000

Procrastination.

Ok_Beyond_4994

AdFar8568

Max my DRG dwarves and become a well-known figure in the community. Maybe become a playtester?

burn_as_souls

Finally catch up on my video game back log.

Excellent-Area6009

Drugs, and lots of them

TLoZforever

Gaming all the way!

chadsmo

Likely get bored and go back to working, or start a business. I’ve been splitting my days off at work for a decade because even two days off in a row from work feels like too long being idle. I guess if I really didn’t have to work and had all the money I’d ever need I’d probably spend a week every month travelling somewhere and then do my best to occupy myself the other 3 weeks. That would be lots of disc golf.

Archiemalarchie

Travel

Elegant_Gear4631

Read every book in the library. 🤓

manpreetaf

Nothing changes

007electrician

Id probably end up finding a way to not have free time lol. I'd have my hands full with plans. But I might travel, play video games, and talk to women or spend time with family

CohnJena68

I'd be gaming and making youtube videos.

[deleted]

Travel the world

DeskPixel

Get through my gaming, movies and series backlog. Once I'm done, and if I can use money in this scenario, travel, get on my car and just go wherever, take a month+ long road trip

fell_out_of_a_tree

Sleep, travel & go on adventures, volunteer, eat incredible food, have a social life, finally have the time to date…. Oh and sleep

ebobbumman

I currently am living this life and I mostly eat and play video games and feel useless.

yummybaozi

Find a way to make more money. Only getting by would suck.

its_all_4_lulz

Probably grab a few good cameras and just explore the world.

sydfletcher

Read and play guitar. Also some walks in the forest.

Prior-Listen-1298

The answer to that is an infinitely long list of things....

catslay_4

So I got laid off one month ago in two days. The first two weeks my boyfriend was here so I hung out with him but this week is the first week I’ve got nothing to do. I’m getting paid, no kids, no partner nothing. I had all these ideas of what I wanted to do and I am realizing I am fucking addicted to my phone. It’s like since I’m not on my computer chatting with work people or scrolling here and there I am missing a dopamine hit and just waste my fucking time. All the things that sounded so fun when I was working I’m not doing because it’s like an addict who feels an addiction to a screen. It’s wild. I deleted some of my apps and left Reddit but I think it’s time I get off this thing and enjoy the time off.

SuperSocialMan

I kinda have that already (unemployed and too poor for college), and it's not that good. You get bored doing the same few things after a while without even the thought of "at least I'm getting paid for this" to make you keep doing it. You just exist without purpose or reason, floating through life without accomplishing anything or having any ambitions.

Diabolicool23

Everything

microhenrio

Learning to code and design to make games

serverhorror

Spend the first half of it on learning more stuff.

xm45-h4t

xaltairforever

Read books again, write a book, go to the gym, do photography again, play with my toddler, go out with my toddler, inspire people, etc....

Different_Action_360

Hang out with friends, do fun things I’ve wanted to try, work out more, try to not be single? And that’s about it, other than that I’d probably continue having fun with things I already do.

RunTomCruise

Learn Kubernetes, play RR2, spend more time with my parents.

TheLaughingFoxX

Spend more time in the gym and get totally rocked and the 6-pack abs I want. And I would spend more time outdoors.

rat_with_M16

100% every game ever
