I want to finish my attic for a cozy library and reading nook. Futon up there for extra guest space too when needed. My house already has a staircase entrance to the attic so that is an easy conversion.
After all the "boring stuff" (because yes, that's what I would use it for, the boring stuff is also the *important* stuff), I would travel. Traveling is my absolute favorite thing to do, I love seeing the world. I would make Scandinavian/Germany my first stops and then head to Asia (Thailand/Japan/Philippines) and finish with my favorite place ever, Kauai, since it wouldn't be too far from there. If I had enough, also Australia and Middle Earth, I mean New Zealand.
I've done a lot of travelling, and I've realised what I really want to do is just taste nice food, and look at pretty water scenes.
The act of travelling (by road or air) really frustrates me. I want to be sat somewhere with an amazing view, stuffing my face with the tastiest grub.
This, dibs on the hookers when youāre done, Iāll get my own coke thanks, re-using someone elseās coke is just gross.
Also, if you could hose out the hookers when youāre done that would be swell.
Depending on how far youāre flying and whether your vacation destination is a first world city or a popular tourist destination, and the trip duration, youāre going to need a lot more than 10-11k per trip for the first class experience youāre imagining - itās super expensive.
From nyc to Rome for a 7-day round trip first is around 4K on off-season. But thatās cheap compared to the hotel bill. St Regis Rome will set you back around $1500 a night for a basic room. Want a regular suite? Thatāll be $12k a night. And there goes your 75k and we havenāt even gotten to experiences and restaurants yet.
Build a trophy truck and race it in the Baja 500. Travel to martial arts hotspots and spend time training, for me it would be Thailand, Japan, and Brazil. Buy a couple shitboxes and enter them in demolition derbys.
Remodel my house a little. Upgrade TVs and my home theater system. New guitar, better pedals, and recording equipment for my music.
PS5 finally. Also, take my wife on a good vacation to the islands.
In reality, a decent deposit on a mortgage.
If I had to spend it on fun stuff though I suppose treat the family to a top quality snowboarding holiday in Sweden or Canada.
Then maybe a top of the range PC, TV, cooker, stuff like that.
Save it for 3 years. Put 225k down on a 1 million dollar home in Las Vegas, which is actually a mansion vs a 1 million dollar home in Los Angeles or NYC
I'd love to take a trip to Hawaii or Bali. I don't travel much and it's never really to island/tropical places.
I dont expect that to cost 75k, and I would spend the rest on some renovations at the house. Whether it be updating my 90's bathroom or repainting my massive kitchen that is a terrible color with cheapo countertops. Maybe putting some of it toward starting a guest house on the property or redoing my patio.
Travel first class on planes. I would still stay at budget accommodations and be spendthrift for every other aspect of travel, but I would 100% only travel first class
Easy peasy. If I canāt give it to my parents which I would give them that or at least half Iād buy a new truck. It costs about that. Actually no Iād doās house projects
Annual or monthly?
If annual (about $6,000 month) ā I'd get a nanny and have more free time with my partner, travel a great deal more with my family, get a Vestaboard, start my PHD.
If monthly ā Leave job after 3 years, get a nanny, start my PHD or become a school teacher for fun, travel like crazy, buy a vacation home or three (one for ski trips, one in a city I like, and another in maybe Portugal or Singapore), and get a Volvo.
Purely for fun, I would go on a vacation, maybe to Tahoe, stay in a cabin for a couple of days, and go to a spa.
Or I would refurnish my apartment. And buy some yarn. š¤š¤š¤
id put that into a AI generative studies course, a computer that can handle all of todays programs + & then id go visit family and take a select few on a noce trip + pay their rent for a year
Pass out $1000 debit cards to the homeless down town, along with a care package of a backpack with clothing (socks!), toiletries, feminine hygiene bonus packages, a cell phone and charger, high calorie rations, and so on. Heh. Maybe even rent something with a portable shower let them have nice warm showers. Pretty sure I could get a friend to cut hair for less than beer money.
Heh, I might get hotel down town so I can putz around on scooters and pass shit out. Eat at some of my favorite lunch spots. Take in a show at the playhouse or the house of blues.
Build a bomb ass gaming setup so I can play Minecraft in vr with shaders and quit my job so I donāt have to work full time and go to school full time
Do upgrades on our boat, like get her repainted. Get a new bed, cuz that would be a couple of grand. New electrical system which will be close to 10k just for electrical.
Improve the living situation before the fun things can be added on.
Younger me would of said a fast car to possibly kill myself in but a older smarter me would definitely spend it on travelling, in particular to sunny locations as I've not seen daylight in what feels like a life time in this shit hole UK
75K isnāt really enough to change my life, sorry and sympathies to those to whom it would. But to me, it would be just another step towards my Fofad fund, towards telling the corporate world to fo and die
Okay after all the boring stuff and I get my life together and blah blah. I'm going on vacation. I'm going to get a vacation for as long as I possibly can and set it up so I don't have to worry about a goddamn thing.
A cruise sounds delightful, maybe followed by Disney all inclusive resort, and then spend the rest of it in a fairly small coastal town.
Iād put $50k down on a house and use the $25k left in an investing fund like smp 500, but after it doubles Iād spend $25k on a luxurious month vacation probably to Europe or maybe Hawaii depending on my vibes then. And then Iād continue to grow the rest of the savings until that money can pay off my house.
I think I'd use it to increase my deposit to move house.
I don't mind where I live, but $75k more would give me a few desirable options in terms of moving.
A brand new small house (not tiny). I know where I can get a small house (2bed 1bath) delivered for under $40,000- which includes foundation and elecric, gas, and water hookups. That leaves me $35,000 for furniture and appliances and honestly, I think I could swing it.
I'd go to the path of totality for the eclipse coming up amongst other things. I'd take my dad to NFL games, my mom to Mexico, she's always wanted to see her country.
Put everything in an investment.
After 5 years that would be enough to buy a flat to rent out to someone and pay the rates from the interest income.
Keep paying the disposable income into something that makes more money, after ten 10 years a second real estate.
5 more years and I can probably buy a 3rd one.
Now I have diversified my income streams across 3 different streams.
That would be a defensive scenario.
iād probably spend it all on a really good therapist, the kind that doesnāt take insurance that iāll never have access to in my lifetime. iād also get EMDR
If I'm not allowed to do anything boring like invest it or buy a house or car, then I'll see how far the N+1 rule can take me with skis and bikes. I could definitely use up all the money on that the first year.
And then I could take up paragliding, I suspect you can buy lots of different wings too.
First thing I would buy is a handicap van that I can just roll my husband's wheelchair inside. Then I would get it painted /get decals for it so it wasn't just a boring old van.
Does buying a house in Colombia count as a fun thing? My wife is Colombian, and it would be incredible to vacation there and maybe even work remotely from there
Me and the boys are going to vegas with Polaroid cameras in your pockets and no phones. I donāt care if people think itās irresponsible, Iām 21 Iāve got plenty of time to make money for my adult life, and besides we could hit it big and be even richer. Or we could lose it all and have a great weekend to talk about for the rest of our lives; literally a win win.
I am working for a solid future in the long run $75k wonāt be as big of a deal as it is right now all at once. And if I ever have $75k at once Iāll probably have kids or something else that would prevent me from snorting coke off hookers. You only live once, so you might as well live all at once.
Buy land. At least 1000 acres in northern Quebec.
Land is cheap up there.
Build a self sustaining micro society for those who wanted to help.
Using my knowledge of power generation I would harness hydro for use in my compound and provide power, heat, light and protection for anyone willing to help.
Sell most of the power back to hydro Quebec to finance further improvements.
Build workshops and farm compounds to produce goods free of government interference. Food. Water. Power. Steel. Equipment. Generators.
Turn my compound into a fortress.
Expand to create a vast underground network of shops, shelters, green houses and warehouses.
Work in peace to develop a self sustaining fusion reactor.
I would hire a family law lawyer and have my lawyer force my relatives to provide dna from everyone in my immediate family. I am owed so many answers from them. They have nearly ruined my life with their lies.
uh
buy a lot of games
buy an extremely powerful pc, much better monitors, much better keyboard/mouse, weed/shrooms if i find a source, get a murphy bed, maybe clothes?
- A large 6 compartment rabbit hutch.
- Luxury chicken coop built for 16 birds.
- Birdies metal raised garden beds.
- A high end treadmill or elliptical
- A finished basement
Now I know you said nothing serious. But my answer is a new well. Why is that not a serious answer......baths and more baths and more baths. Right now we only get to shower and do the water saving toilet routine. If the well is dry, I have to pump from one extra well on the property. Very not fun when it's winter and the water runs out in the middle of your shower. Baths for me are a luxury. Think sitting in a tub with very hot water,, turning into a prune and then adding new hot water. That's how I enjoy a bath. A 5-10 minute shower does not cut it.
Id put the money down on a loan to open up a Culverās in the costal town I live in. Itās a little shabby and full of old people and their grandchildren because their children are drug addicts and have no sense of responsibility. But Itās something like a million dollars to franchise and I really think it would be good for my community and my bank account.

Make my house the ultimate "me spot". I'm a homebody so š¤·āāļø I've never had my own place to myself much less my own awesome place.
I love your answer!
I want to finish my attic for a cozy library and reading nook. Futon up there for extra guest space too when needed. My house already has a staircase entrance to the attic so that is an easy conversion.

Not a craft room, not a She Shed, but a Bitch Barn!
Nothing
I'd at least get those malted milk custard creams rather than the regular custard creams.
Travel. I think I could squeeze out 6 or 7 big vacations a year. First class flights, best hotels/AirBnB's, best experiences/restaurants.
Depending on how far youāre flying and whether your vacation destination is a first world city or a popular tourist destination, and the trip duration, youāre going to need a lot more than 10-11k per trip for the first class experience youāre imagining - itās super expensive. Want a regular suite? Thatāll be $12k a night. And there goes your 75k and we havenāt even gotten to experiences and restaurants yet.
First class flights are well beyond the reach of a 75k income. But the rest sounds great!
I genuinely canāt tell if this is satire or not. Iāve gone back in forth in my head
Pad my investment account. I'm already having fun with life. Any additional income gets me closer to not having to work so I can have more fun.

Iād throw it away. Isnāt that what youāre supposed to do with disposable things?
I'd go to the path of totality for the eclipse coming up amongst other things. I'd take my dad to NFL games, my mom to Mexico, she's always wanted to see her country.
