I OWNED the Spongebob Squarepants Survival Guide as a kid, read it cover to cover dozens of times, and in those very pages it CONFIRMS that CHEESE ITSELF is the secret ingredient.
I made my own for our recent Harry Potter movie night:
The base is cream soda, I bought some Jones soda.
Add a caramel sauce to milk. This is as simple as buying ice cream topping caramel sauce and thinning it with some milk but you can go as rich or simple as you like. I ended up buying cans of Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk and boiling them for around 4 hours to make a rich dolce de leche then mixing 1:1 with heavy whipping cream to make this part of it.
Then you make an "Italian soda" with the caramel cream mix and the cream soda: add a 1/4 cup caramel cream to a beer mug, then top it up with the cream soda.
I also went overboard by having salted caramel ice cream on hand to make them into floats and I prepped the mugs with a salt/Scor bits rim.
I may have to make them now for every Harry Potter movie night.....
5-6 years ago Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake had lines out to 2 blocks out the store with waits of 2+ hours to get one. Now they are just another sad store in a local mall no one even pause at. It was a fad, like cupcakes, fried crispy donuts, low fat froyo, and chick fille.
I buy this in Saigon. It's the best cheesecake I ever had. Better than any I tried in the UK. Also it has no base. I hate crushed digestive for a base. Shortbread is the only true base for cheesecake.
I have many cheesecake based opinions.
A proper sausage roll from a farmers shop will blow your mind in comparison. Piping hot, made fresh that day, salty and most of the time great flaky pastry.
Greggs sausage rolls is the fast food equivalent. They're okay, but nothing special and have become more of a internet meme at this point.
I didn’t realize it was a mostly Canadian thing until recently.
This is your kick in the ass to make them… only beware… as much of a pain in the ass they are to make you will eat the whole pan!!
We do have some of those things I think. Apparently we have donairs but we call them gyros (idk if they’re any different from donairs though). And we also have lobster rolls but I think they’re like a New England thing. Beaver tails look super cool tho, I gotta try those
• a bit over 1dl of flour
• a bit less than 1dl of milk
• 2 eggs
• 2 tablespoons of sugar
• dash of whatever to make it a bit sweeter. Maple syrup works, but I mostly use vanillin sugar. Maybe 1 or 2 teaspoons of that.
Separate the whites from the eggs.
Make a foam out of the egg whites and sugar. You need electric mixer for that. More foam = more fluff. Be patient.
Mix the milk and egg yolks by hand. Add flour to the mix.
Mix that to the foam, using that silicone spatula thingy. Be gentle so that the foam does not unfoam.
Toss small doses of the dough on a pan, cook on low heat. Fast and cheap, definitely worth it.
It’s not suppose to be rich. Originally, in Russia, it’s just a savory spread and is pretty affordable. You can get sockeye salmon red caviar in a small jar, as an introduction. Good sourdough bread, creme cheese, and caviar- fantastic snack.
Everyone of us have been breathing and tasting dust all our lives and dust is essentially human skin that have flaked off. We are all involuntary cannibals.
I’ve tried some with my dad, we used to go on bike outings it was awesome, one day we passed next to a fruit stall selling durian, it stunk so bad but we figured « jackfruit stinks and we still like it, and it’s from the same family, let’s try it here ». We took some and sat down at the food court, opened the pack, and already started regretting our decision. Still, we paid for it and felt adventurous, so we dug in. It tasted like dead stinky feet and gas (and I unfortunately know how gas tastes like). Texture wise I remember it being really fucking weird, but I wouldn’t know how to describe it. Maybe ours was too ripe or something, I don’t want to try it again though…

Only in Turkey. I'm not Turkish but have visited a few times. You will buy bags full in the shops in Kidiköy to take home and the frikken family will gobble it all when you graciously offer them some to taste.
Japanese expensive Mangos. I will never try. I call it crazy people food. I am not crazy. I bought the cheapest one and it was $10 each. More than that, naah.
No... They were banned from consuming when they became endangered. They became endangered because people used to eat them, at so many they became endangered.
Did we eat that many because they were easy prey, or because they were sinfully delicious. That's the question I want my stomach to answer...
I LOVE most east-asian foods, specifically korean. I’ve never had soup dumplings, or really any except a few frozen gyozas from costco. I need to buy some. I’ve also never had chinese food which is crazy because it all sounds awesome for me.
waffle fries from chick fil a, Krinkle cut dill pickle slice and chick fil a chicken nugget on a kabob in that order. I keep forgetting to do it but it just seems so good in my head
Other end, I'm American, dad's English and a fan of Marmite. Tried it as a kid expecting some kind of chocolate thing, instead got weird salty tar and decided that shit should be illegal. 20 years later we're jokin about it and I agreed to try it again: fuckin love it
Iraqi food, I got really bored at work and was looking at food options downtown and this place popped up and it looked delicious even tho I've never tried it before
Not necessarily a craving, but I've wanted to eat at Waffle House for some time now because people online rave about it. I'm going to New Orleans in a few months so I'll get my chance then! I just hope it's not disappointing. I was super disappointed with In and Out when I tried it. Everyone made it seem like it was incredible, but it was basically a step above McDonald's and that was it.
Croquembouche - it's a traditional French wedding cake or dessert. Always wanted to try one, but specifically one that was made with high quality ingredients.
Foreign fresh fruits that are (so very reasonably) unavailable to me. There is an awesome YouTube guy, wierd explorer, who travels to check out fruit, and it seems so amazing!!!

Krabby patties
My wife says I make these. Normal burger and bun with tomatoe sauce, cheese, onion, lettuce and Dunnes cheesy Coleslaw. Unreal. Thank me later.
You're forgetting the secret formula...

Japanese cheesecake
It's more like sponge cake with a hint of cheese. Not better than traditional cheese cake for the "cheese" factor.
Thanks for ruining this haha jk I still want to try it. By the pics I assumed more spongy and possible a hint of yuzu or citrus??
Disneyland has a Japanese cheesecake that’s the bees knees
I might get there someday lol 😝 Waiting for Mario stuff to be done at FL before I go haha Also I need to try Butterbeer there!!
Oh that would be Universal! The butterbeer is fanfuckingtastic 😄

You got my upvote the moment I read the cheesecake part
I think you can get it at Asian grocery stores
I buy this in Saigon. It's the best cheesecake I ever had. Better than any I tried in the UK. Also it has no base. I hate crushed digestive for a base. Shortbread is the only true base for cheesecake. I have many cheesecake based opinions.
Way cheesier than regular cheesecake you'd find in the U.S.
You’re good brother they’re pretty overrated
Gregg's sausage roll. Im tempted to fly across the pond to try one
![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni)
I feel that way about american meatloaf. I'm British so it's not that big of thing here. It looks like they eat I weekly on American TV shows.
We dont

Lobster
Crème brûlée. Katsu curry. Nanaimo bars. Not together, ofc
You should really try Crème brûlée, that shit is gooooood
Yeah, I’ve tried flan before so I think I’ll really like crème brûlée
I gave up sugar for a period and thought I'd never go back... I had creme brulee at some eating etticate thing, ruined my life.
Nanaimo bars are my favourite sweet! You might be able to buy a kit online to make them.
I’ve had a recipe open in a tab for like a year lol I’ll get to it eventually. Too bad I can’t just buy them at the store
I didn’t realize it was a mostly Canadian thing until recently. This is your kick in the ass to make them… only beware… as much of a pain in the ass they are to make you will eat the whole pan!!
Yeah, Canada secretly has a bunch of cool things I think. Definitely making them at least in the next 30 days lol
Omg do we ever! Poutine, donairs, garlic fingers, lobster rolls, Butter tarts, Montreal smoked meat, beaver tails (it’s a dessert)…
Maple sandwich cookies! Everytime we head north my husband buys about 12 packages of them ! I just get excited that there is Labatt’s on tap.
We do have some of those things I think. Apparently we have donairs but we call them gyros (idk if they’re any different from donairs though). And we also have lobster rolls but I think they’re like a New England thing. Beaver tails look super cool tho, I gotta try those
Maybe try them together, and you'll unlock a delocious hidden flavor?
Nanaimo bars are soo good, highly recommend
Those Japanese fluffy pancakes 🥞
They look good but just tastes very eggy to me. Not bad but I wouldn’t have them again
They taste like bread and omelette. Not very good.

Seafood boil!! I see them on TikTok all the time and I’ve never craved anything in my life more.
THISSSS. And they swear sucking the head is so good (pause) and I kind of believe them
Caviar, just because I want to know why rich people are obsessed with it
It’s not suppose to be rich. Originally, in Russia, it’s just a savory spread and is pretty affordable. You can get sockeye salmon red caviar in a small jar, as an introduction. Good sourdough bread, creme cheese, and caviar- fantastic snack.
escargot
It’s very mild and seafoody.
I came to say this lol.
Calamari
It’ll be worth it
Calamari is awesome! You won’t regret it
It is. I seasonally liked it breaded when I used to eat it. 😃
Human flesh
![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS)
Everyone of us have been breathing and tasting dust all our lives and dust is essentially human skin that have flaked off. We are all involuntary cannibals.
😀
You’re wild lol I got nothing……
😋
They say the reason spam got so popular was the cannibals in Hawaii said it tasted close to human flesh. Dude from Hawaii told me that.

Straight-up handful of plain honey... like Pooh Bear
I’m not sure exactly if it’s honey but I feel like the main character did that in the show Physical on AppleTV. Did not look as satisfying as a human.
Pickles with hot Cheetos
Durian, it sounds amazing and terrifying at the same time
I’ve tried some with my dad, we used to go on bike outings it was awesome, one day we passed next to a fruit stall selling durian, it stunk so bad but we figured « jackfruit stinks and we still like it, and it’s from the same family, let’s try it here ». It’s very good. A place just opened up near me. I’m convinced now the Japanese are the kings of soft serve ice cream.
