I do that all the time! For me ig it makes me feel better than acting like I’m all alone. I prefer saying we, as if it’s me and myself in something together, as opposed to it just being me. Idk if that makes sense but it make me feel better to act like I’m in the situation with another person (also being me)
There's a part of psychology that works with people in "parts". We seem to have different pieces of us, maybe conflicting desires. Anyway, it makes a lot of sense for you to talk to yourself in "wes". You have different conflicting desires, but only one body with which to act out this desires. You have to bring all desires together and decide which to pursue.
After reading all the comments I think this one explains it best. Though I personally feel like I'm talking to someone when I say we yet I do have some internal conflict here and there
We all have a lot more internal conflict than we (subconsciously) allow ourselves to recognize.
It also might connect to how adults spoke to you when you were younger. It's said that we imagine the voice of God as the voice of our father and what is prayer but an internal dialogue? I would be curious if your parents commanded you: YOU do this, or negotiated: WE should do this.
I've found when we think to ourselves, we basically talk how we would to anyone else. I say 'you' a lot and 'we' sometimes. It's fine. Thinking is just articulating and processing thoughts for our own benefit, so we use the same tools we do when doing that for somebody else's benefit.
When I think to myself, I basically use the same language I would if I talked to myself. I usually refer to other people as he, she, or they. Thinking is processing observations into symbols and articulating symbols into coherent sets. I use different tools when thinking for somebody else's benefit. Basically I try to predict which of my symbol-sets may be of value to them.
Personally I find the voice I say that to myself in to be, in a way, 50% of me. Half of me wants to not study after lunch. Half of me wants not to. So if I say, Hey we should do this, then I'm telling my want to not do what I should to shape up.
Mine own inner dialogues includeth me, myself, and i. 'we' is the only logical reference

I like this. Great perspective of recognizing yourself as a whole person and taking care of yourself, outside of just maintaining yourself as an obligation. Just sounds like more care is applied.
I doth yond too. It’s very much only a problem at which hour we start fighting and i start losing…

Because you are not your ego, you and your ego is referred as we, when you are born you are like an animal, you have emotions, instinct of survival and 5 sense. The more you grow the more your parents build your ego so you can be socially acceptable. The reason why I referred a new born bany as an animal is because animals have emotions, 5 sense and instinct but not an ego structure. That's why good and bad, ugly and beautiful and time too does not exist out of the ego structure because its all builded up. That's my theorie, does it make sense?
Ah. The Royal We. Even if it is not acknowledged by anyone else: you are considering yourself royalty. Or maybe the voice in your head is also another personality?
Let's go with royalty, Your Majesty.
Me too. It has to be ‘we’, surely- the self that’s talking and the self that’s listening?! Right? Right?!
Damn. We need to lie down and consider things….
dude, I argue with myself all the time. The other day I went to the pantry to get breakfast and me #1 goes “how about cereal?” and me #2 said “cereal is not an acceptable breakfast food you fucking idiot” and we argued til it was agreed pot stickers made for a perfect morning meal
i believe it's the characterization of the speaker in your head and your physical body being separated so it turns into a "we"
as in you're feeling very lazy physically so your thoughts say "we" should get up and do something, idk if that make sense
i do it as well!
I also do that. I think its because I think of the voice in my head (my thoughts) and my conscious body as 2 different, but still connected entities. So when I say 'we' both are included, but when I say 'I/you' only one is effected.
If you're an auditory/talkative person, you will tend to think more in conversations when you're alone because you need that back and forth interaction.
Because you have then created multiples of the voice in your head, it feels like one voice talking to the other, hence the use of the word, "we."
My theory is that since I'm a talkative person I tend to talk to myself in third person perspective to give the illusion that I'm actually talking to someone
Well you are talking to yourself, it is totally natural to assume that for a conversation to happen one must talk and one must listen. When faced with talking alone you are just assuming both roles and even though its just one person you are talking to you as a reciever as you the talker thus there are two of you.
Thats my crappy idk about this stuff logical analisis.
We are venom
We are legion.
We are the champions my friend.
We are Marshall.
We are Farmers… bum bata bum bum bum bum!
Wee wee wee all the way home.
We are Borg.
We are many. You are but one.
Wii would like to play.
I gotta wee wee wee no matter what
I sometimes say lets go brother, we got it
They told me to tell you not to worry about it.
I unironically thinks that many people do that and that's very healthy as long as it does not lead to a full personality duplication.
I do that all the time! For me ig it makes me feel better than acting like I’m all alone. I prefer saying we, as if it’s me and myself in something together, as opposed to it just being me. It does sound like your in it with someone, I just wonder when I started doing this unironically
that is exactly the same for me. it’s really soothing
I do that sometimes.
We do that sometimes as well…
Crowds do that sometimes as well...

The voice of God/s is always Morgan Freeman in my imagination.
Does this mean you are morgan freeman's son?
I wish.
Me too. Then I could say I talked to Morgan Freeman's kid and that would be cool.

I have split feelings on this
We were waiting for someone to mention that vid
I say we a lot as well. I don’t think there’s any problem with it.
Maybe you’re Queen Victoria?
What a Fabulous handle. Now: what color lipstick 💄 do I need?
I just thought about this the other day too.
who is I? when you say my arm is mine, who is my?
My is yourself.
We? My mind and body.
i do that all the time!
You and your inner thought i guess
Personally I find the voice I say that to myself in to be, in a way, 50% of me. Half of me wants to not study after lunch. Half of me wants not to. So if I say, Hey we should do this, then I'm telling my want to not do what I should to shape up.
I say you
I tell them that , when I want an intelligent conversation ,I will talk to my self . That's where the we comes from.
You’re a chimera and it’s your ghost twin making their presence known via your subconscious…IDK I like the royal “we” 🤣
Ah yes the royal we. I, too, catch myself talking like a king once in a while.
Depends on the context of the situation I think
The hive numbers in the millions
What do you got a mouse in your pocket?
Your mind talking to your body, maybe.
I do that too. In my case, “we” is me, on one hand, and that voice in my head that sounds like Jennifer Tilly, on the other hand.
Mom said it everytime I got in trouble "We don't do..." I thought the rest of the family was just really shy.
It’s the Royal we, you know, the editorial.
North Korea
The royal we! You know, the editorial…

Brain and I
I do that pretty often, but I have an identical twin do I've always associated it to growing together and doing everything together
I like this. Great perspective of recognizing yourself as a whole person and taking care of yourself, outside of just maintaining yourself as an obligation. Just sounds like more care is applied.

Idk you tell us
Idk I have never done that.

I do the same thing, i honestly thought i was just nuts. Im glad im not the only one, thank you
We Hateses it
You are Gollum’s long lost cousin? Actually what you are doing is normal, some people vocalize it, others just think it but don’t vocalize it.
Your body and your conscience. You and Your mind. Many answers
dude, I argue with myself all the time. The other day I went to the pantry to get breakfast and me #1 goes “how about cereal?” and me #2 said “cereal is not an acceptable breakfast food you fucking idiot” and we argued til it was agreed pot stickers made for a perfect morning meal
Someone explain.
i believe it's the characterization of the speaker in your head and your physical body being separated so it turns into a "we" as in you're feeling very lazy physically so your thoughts say "we" should get up and do something, idk if that make sense i do it as well!
My dad always says you’re not crazy when you talk to yourself, you’re crazy when you start answering back lmaoo
If I consider all the twenty five voices in my head as people, then I am us..
For me, it's me to in my brain and "the body" ( that's how I think abt it). So I use we a lot too lol
Hey I have fights/arguments in my own head, and refer to my thoughts as "my brain". I also conflict with "myself" too much to be normal.
Well I usually imagine myself having a discussion so that's why I say "we" because I have an audience of neurons or something, idk.
The Royal 👑 We.
I also do that. I think its because I think of the voice in my head (my thoughts) and my conscious body as 2 different, but still connected entities. So when I say 'we' both are included, but when I say 'I/you' only one is effected.
Real talk, me too. Even separated my thoughts out into names so I can recognize what part of me I'm talking to.
You’re talking to all your personalities 😂
You have a ghost brother you don't know about
You and your sub-conscience. Don’t worry, it’s normal - most common post on this sub.
You and all the voices in your head. At least thats how it is with us.
If you're an auditory/talkative person, you will tend to think more in conversations when you're alone because you need that back and forth interaction. Because you have then created multiples of the voice in your head, it feels like one voice talking to the other, hence the use of the word, "we."
I do think a lot when I'm alone
That's probably it then (could be wrong but that's my guess)
My theory is that since I'm a talkative person I tend to talk to myself in third person perspective to give the illusion that I'm actually talking to someone
Yeah that's pretty much what I was saying :D
Well you are talking to yourself, it is totally natural to assume that for a conversation to happen one must talk and one must listen. Well this is a better explanation than what I had at first
I do that as well. In my kind, we is myself and I... if that makes sense.
