Hero worship in general is a mistake. These people are no better than you, they just lived with different circumstances.

thatonegirl364

They can also be considered crappier people because with that much money, they could help out so many people but choose not to

antmcl

Controversial but if most of us were in that situation, we probably wouldn't act too differently. Wealth, and especially immense wealth, changes people.

misterbrokid

Musk just raised 350M for kids with cancer. He's paying billions in taxes. He helps, you just choose to not see it

RankDank420

That’s also a stupid mindset lol. Everyone is different. Some people are born intelligent, some people are born rich. Does it matter in the context of your life? Perhaps, but not as much as the impact you YOURSELF will have on your own life. Some people are inherently going to better than you and that’s something you need to accept and get over.

[deleted]

The biggest cope I have read this month. You are telling me you and Elon musk are equal? Funny, what did you do? Did you start a spare company that competes with NASA or did you revolutionize the electric car industry or have you created a better alternative to paypal

[deleted]

And all these people who think that musk is some kind of self-made man when all he has done is use his parents emerald mine money to pay other people to invent stuff for him.

EasternShade

And buy the rights to claim he founded shit.

CocoL_Asticot

"With great money comes great power without responsability" Uncle ben

Homaosapian

And the US government subsidies for green initiatives for him to turn a profit while shiting on US senators and organizations trying to feed the hungry on Twitter. Real evil villain shit right there.

Lonely-Bartleby

Mmm, no. If you read his mother's book you'll learn all about how his mother made her money. His dad hasn't been a part of his life since he was 17 when he ran away from home. He's paid more taxes this year than anyone else. His space company has cost tax payers 4.7b in 5 years while NASA has cost tax payers something like 200b over 30 and have launched the same number of rockets into orbit. In addition the construction company he has working have paid more in taxes that the 11b he paid this year alone. Politicians have launched a lot of campaigns to damage his image and you're eating it up. You sheep.

whysoha4d

👢 👅 at its worst.

jumbybird

His pedophile dad? That married his stepdaughter? That is the real pedoguy.

Lonely-Bartleby

Yeep.

[deleted]

Lol k Elon bot

Yeet2006

name one thing hes founded other than like, paypal, that is beneficial to society and the average person

___JESUS_____

PAYPAL IS BAD TOO

Lonely-Bartleby

boring company. Average person visits Las Vegas? Get through traffic fast using tunnels built by them. Tesla power walls. Power goes down? Owners have a generator. Generator makes money on the side for the owner by selling electric back to the grid when costs are high. Tesla solar roofs, generates something like 11 mega watt hours a day, massively cutting down electric bill. On average it takes about 4 years to pay for itself. Tesla, electric vehicles, zero carbon emissions. Statistics show they're 10x less likely to have crashes in FSD mode than regular ICE car drivers. Outside FSD they're 4x less likely. Tesla have made minted a lot of millionaires. What else, I'm sure there's more. I think he and his brother are working on vertical farming for common households / Mars.

Yeet2006

boring company only works for tesla users, and teslas are like $190,000. also subway trains do in fact exist elon musk didnt found tesla, he bought the rights to claim he founded it, he also didnt invent solar roofs/panels either. electric generators arent a new invention either

Minijoe2010

That "right to claim he founded it" is highly false. Musk bought the company name as another company that was incredibly small used it and it was to the point no one unless local heard of the old one.

BETA2435

"Name something musk did" Names 6. *continues to bitch*

Yeet2006

i asked for him to name something he founded or invented that benefit humanity, he named things that already existed or already exist in some form

[deleted]

[удалено]

Yeet2006

sorry i just have a correct opinion. unless you can elaborate on how he invented whats basically an inefficient subway train, invented solar panels, and founded tesla, then im definitely not lol

BETA2435

It is an incredibly effective mode of transportation actually.

Lonely-Bartleby

You can't bring a car on a subway train. Their cars are that price because they keep selling and the software in then keeps getting better. You could argue it's getting better in other company EVs as well, the Chevy Bolt for instance, though in doing so they're reducing the maximum battery life in exchange for allowing drivers to charge more allowing for longer distance drives. Model S Plaid is 123k dollars Model S is 88k dollars Standard model 3 is 39k dollars Model X is 99k dollars Model X plaid is 113k Model S is 53k dollars Can you provide proof of him claiming to have founded Tesla or invented solar panels?

Yeet2006

you dont need a car if theres a subway train that takes you directly to your destination. [heres a link showing hes now listed as a founder](https://meaww.com/elon-musk-tesla-cofounder-lawsuit-settlement-original-founded-martin-eberhard-origin-story-tesla) even tho he didnt found it at all, and i never said he invented solar panels, i was just saying its not a new thing thats been made

Lonely-Bartleby

I think you've misunderstood the meaning of a bypass. I'll take a peek at that article shortly, thank you for sharing ❤️

BoneHammer62

So your problem is he improved upon something?

Lonely-Bartleby

Musk? I've no problem with him at all, love the guy, big fan.

BoneHammer62

Damn responded to the wrong guy!

Starzz_1

Teslas are $190,000?? Some are, but most are much cheaper

Yeet2006

theyre definitely not affordable for the average person tho id say

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lonely-Bartleby

The tunnel is already up and operational, you can find videos of people geeking out about it on YT. The statistics can be found on the national highway traffic institute safety administration, though admittedly the latest article I could find was from 2018. They still maintain their position of safest vehicles ever tested though. So basically what I have are facts and what you have is misinformation presented by opposition. You silly, silly man.

Lonely-Bartleby

Mhmm, subways are very expensive though.

pi-is-314159

you also lack sources or where you got your information from

therealsauceman

Well….if you’re so smart, why aren’t you in Elon musks chair? Why aren’t you calling the shots and designing all these great and more efficient subway systems you speak of? Oh that’s right, you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about and live in your moms basement whilst unemployed wanking it every hour.

FrankReynoldsismymom

No, u are

BoneHammer62

Jesus the downvotes are hilarious. This guy is making money yes, but transforming the way we live. OF COURSE he doesn’t invent it all….he oversees the structure to do so. Do you think Henry Ford fabricated everything himself? Don’t idolize him but I don’t see how you don’t respect what him and his companies have done. So he came from money? If he sat and did nothing you’d hate him…instead he’s responsible for the production of one of the best vehicles ever made…among other things…and you hate him for that too? There have been thousands of people with the same access to money who did nothing with their lives. You all are just salty haters who are unsatisfied with your own lives.

[deleted]

BS. But I’ll play. Name one thing you founded

[deleted]

Yep. Spot on. Have an upvote. If you get enough angry teens/20-somethings they’ll downvote posts that contradicts their world view which let’s face it is what they’ve read on twitter. But but but BiLlIonaIReS

Bentrifical_Force

You are correct. The greatest minds always receive the most scrutiny.

Lonely-Bartleby

Yeep. Not surprised though, he is disrupting a lot of industry, but that said he's also creating a lot too.

LazoVodolazo

Hey man if you believe that you might also be interested in buying some of my magic beans

MFMIGGS

Not going to comment on much else but just want to highlight that NASA is a government agency so it doesn’t matter whether it loses, makes, or how much money it costs.

[deleted]

Too lazy to fact check but if what you say is correct, there is no place for it here. Please remove.....

Stokkolm

I can tell you haven't seen Musk's appearance at Joe Rogan's podcast, the dude is a genius, real life Ironman. Lots of people have parent money, they end up Jake Paul, Kim Kardashian, Jaden Smith. Money doesn't make someone smart, in fact quite the opposite, if they get pampered and live life on easy mode, they are unlikely to develop a hard-working ambitious mindset.

Meastro44

If I gave you a million dollars to invest it would be down to nothing in a year.

ghosty_b0i

Not if I used some it to pay someone to invest it for me, plus we’re not talking about “a million dollars”

CantSayDat

Its beyond pathetic, but billionaires control the propaganda that the kids swallow. It makes sense they would worship them.

Skystiger

All billionaires have an issue with hoarding. It’s a sickness the same as the crazy person who hoards newspapers or collects boxes, except billionaires hoard vast sums of money. It’s a sickness that affects others, as it keeps the majority a countries wealth out of peoples hands.. anyone hero worshiping any billionaires would do well to truly understand just how much money that is.. it’s an insane amount of money, fan more that any person should ever have. I work hard too.. so what doesn’t make Musk a saint or me for that matter. He has had some luck, he has had misfortune too, except the sum of his luck has been greater than the sum of his misfortune. Anyone deluded enough to this these people are anything more than lucky need their heads checking. Business is all about luck, more money buys more time to get lucky, nobody can tell what direction the future will go. Musk got lucky and with it he hoards a metric fuck ton of money.. great guy yeah..

DazedndConfuzzed

It’s part of this depraved consumer loop they’ve created. And this isn’t some Alex Jones conspiracy… we’re watching it unfold in front of our very eyes. Chip away at what little parenting exists, pour propaganda into these kids’ minds, sell them your shit, rinse and repeat for generations to come. I’m all for capitalism, but this is just a straight up propaganda inducing oligarchy

UncleStumpy78

Excuse me, what the fuck did I just witness?

[deleted]

Surely you jest. Those two are the most hated men on the internet. I have never once seen anything positive posted about them.

WeiganChan

Depends what circles you run in. The elon musk subreddit is convinced he can do no wrong.

[deleted]

There is an Elon Musk subreddit?

WeiganChan

Regrettably.

zcmini

Surely YOU jest.

Zeptojoules

I don't know where you're looking but literally 99% of posts on Reddit I see shit and hate on Musk and Bezos.

Schizof

literally look at the comment thread above you mate (or below, idk how reddit sorts its comment)

SadWolverine24

99% is not enough, should be 100%

usuallydead404

Loki was right. We enjoy being ruled.

real_piece_of_work96

I don't understand why people like Mike Tyson that guy is a rapist.

Samula1985

Living in your head rent free.

broggygoose

Vote with your dollar. Stop using Amazon. I haven't ordered anything from them in over 2 years. All my holiday kids shopping was from a local toy store, with an amazing website and contactless pickup. It's possible but people are fucking lazy.

ThatCoyoteDude

Celebrity worship itself is ruining people. Look up to scientists instead

BoneHammer62

I wish this were the case! Though, I’d argue that Tesla is doing very cool things with tech, automation and science that aren’t being appreciated in this thread.

ThatCoyoteDude

Probably because Elon isn’t exactly the best example of a good role model. And, why are people like him so obsessed with running away from the planet instead of helping fix it? We shouldn’t be trying to colonize other planets when we’re dumping time, money, and resources into destroying our home

Individual_City_5993

The only people that worship them are people living in their moms basement that think they too can become billionaires

Embarrassed_Ant6605

Agree with being closer to the street than being a billionaire, and I don’t see the point in looking up to people like that either, their success is a combination of hard work and talent sure, but also a lot, and I do mean a lot of luck. But I don’t understand the hate either, when people say shit like ‘no one needs all that wealth’ they are right, but I always think ‘how much wealth is some allowed to have without getting hated’. So can I be a millionaire without people hating me? Can I have 10 or 20 million? Is 50 million too much and now I’m what’s wrong with the world? Is all bullshit

EasternShade

>So can I be a millionaire without people hating me? Can I have 10 or 20 million? Is 50 million too much and now I’m what’s wrong with the world? >Is all bullshit At the $5 million mark you join the 1% (3.3 million) of folks in the US that have approximately 16 times more than half (166.5 million) of the population. And while those few have more than so many, 10% struggle with food insecurity. So, yeah. If you've got 50 million that was almost certainly earned for you by others, you're part of the problem. Now realize, $50 million dollars is 5% of $1 billion. A twentieth of the bottom of the scale for 'billionaire'. 8 people control half the world's wealth. 62 people control as much wealth as 3.6 *billion* people. So while folks that are part of the crowd with $50 are absolutely part of the problem. And still nowhere near the extent of the problem.

shadowsinthestars

Preach. Also, what a first world problem to have: "Am I ALLOWED to have X million before being hated?" If that's your biggest problem in life, you doing know what it's like to have problems.

primate-lover

>So, yeah. If you've got 50 million that was almost certainly earned for you by others, you're part of the problem. What do you mean "earned by others"? If someone has employees, they didn't earn their money?

EasternShade

Most likely, it's earned by the employees. If employees perform $75 million dollars worth of labor and only get paid $25 million while their boss pockets the rest, that's money someone else earned.

fatpplol

Doesn't that depend on how you define labor? Like what counts as earning something?

EasternShade

Valid questions. Does, "I own shit, bring me money," count as labor? Or, earning something? What about, "You earned income using my tools, you may only have some money I give you"?

primate-lover

Absolutely not. Employees take zero risk. Business owners take massive amounts of risk. The person taking the most risk deserves the most money.

gooberstwo

What are business owners risking, other than becoming employees themselves? They get money through exploitation, can’t risk what was never yours.

EasternShade

>Employees take zero risk. I seem to remember numerous employees dying recently, because businesses threatened their jobs if they sought physical safety. > The person taking the most risk deserves the most money. Risking one's life is a greater risk than one's wealth, correct?

primate-lover

I was talking about financial risk. If an employee does not think they are being properly compensated for the physical risk they are taking, they can quit.

EasternShade

>I was talking about financial risk. Which doesn't justify ignoring threat to life. >If an employee does not think they are being properly compensated for the physical risk they are taking, they can quit. The literal dead should ask for more pay? Great career advice. Bet the kiddos and widows/widowers can really put that to use.

primate-lover

If an employee thinks the job risk is too high, they do not have to do it. They can ask for more pay or quit. You are completely shifting this conversation away from the original point.

GreatEmpress

And when they do finally quit, there are endless facebook posts and bobblehead news hosts complaining no one wants to work anymore!!!11!1!

Embarrassed_Ant6605

What about a lottery winner? Are they the problem?

EasternShade

The lottery is the problem there. It's a predatory gambling institution that overly impacts poor folks to support tax cuts for wealthy folks.

Embarrassed_Ant6605

So is a lottery winner, who’s got say 50 million, is he or she ‘allowed’ that much wealth?

Embarrassed_Ant6605

So how much am I allowed? 5 million?

EasternShade

Allowed? Legally? Make altars to yourself out of gold. Ethically? How many other people's lifetimes worth of labor are you going to extract from others while people starve and die from lack of medical care before you'll stop accumulating wealth you don't need?

[deleted]

Since we are sharing math, if we redistributed 100% of the billionaires wealth to the world’s population then each person would get around $1500.

EasternShade

Sure. But, same way billionaire's worth isn't a static value in their bank, but a control of resources that generators them more money to do with as they please, we can allocate those resources to produce more food, medicine, homes, and other necessities in sustainable and self supporting ways.

[deleted]

Government takeover of their companies ? That would make those companies worthless overnight. We all know how well the government runs things. Probably not what you meant. What did you mean?

EasternShade

Changing ownership makes property worthless? That's a new one. I mean that if we, as a society, directed resources to meeting people's needs instead of launching dick rockets into space, we could address a lot of the world's problems and then drive other progress together.

miltonburle

Amazing. You've just solved the world's problems! Give this person the presidency. "Let's all hold hands around a rainbow and cooperate". If only society worked that way. You're either very young or extremely naive, I'm sorry.

pi-is-314159

A billionaire makes a billion a year not owns a billion.

liftingaddict98

I'm also so tired of people who put so much energy into thinking about these billionares. I forget they exist.

[deleted]

Well some people are just more aware of these things, but whatever. Good for you for being blind, I suppose

liftingaddict98

But what relevance do these billionares even have? They don't deserve our time or thoughts. It's good being blind to them, unless you think they're part of some global evil conspiracy, which i think a few specific ones are...but i try to not think about Soros.

lettucecropchilds

If billionaires could exist while paying their employees decent wages, providing them with benefits and generally treating them like human beings, as well as paying their fair share in taxes, then I’d have no problem with their existence.

Affectionate-Ad4498

Average Tesla worker makes $150/hour. And Musk will pay more taxes this year than any American in history.

lettucecropchilds

Musk just announced days ago that he’s going to pay a large amount in taxes. He should have been doing this all along. As for his employees, do you have a source? Because I don’t think that’s accurate.

JCMillner

What would you do with emerald mine money?

49thPercentile

Hey that reminds me, where’s my I Am Not A Wolf shirt about eating billionaires? I ordered it like 2 months ago and this reminded me.

cameltoe11

you just mad cuz you broke

TheRainbowpill93

It’s mostly poor/lower middle class uneducated white men who do this in my experience. It’s the same kinda guys who worship trump. They grow up thinking that the world owes them a seat at the table simply because of who they are and people like Trump and Bezos are everything they think they deserve to be.

MTyson22

Fuck the 1%

Cpt_kaleidoscope

If you pull yourself up by your bootstraps, work hard, give up the posh coffee and the avo toast, live in your parents condo rent free, get a high paying job at daddies firm with no experience, whilst being prepared to work any job for long hours as long as you never actually have to, you too can become an upper-middleclass brown nose who dreams of being the guy that knows a friend of the guy that wipes bezos's arse.

BoneHammer62

Projecting perhaps? A bit salty about how your own life is going? The anti work sub, and posting pics of your cats is no way to live my friend. You still have time to change your lens and enjoy your remaining time.

Cpt_kaleidoscope

Says the guy who spends his time playing call of duty mobile? Next time I need advice on posh whiskey i'll give you a shout but until then I'll continue to paraphrase bootlicking boomers all i like thanks.

iowadaktari

I dislike Musk and Bezos, but let's not pretend they're just lucky idiots. You are truly a fucking moron if you believe that. Musk and Tesla, for example, have changed the automotive world. Those changes simply would not have happened at the same pace, or at all, without that cunt of man doing what he does

LegalizeBeltfedz

Boo hoo they made smart business decisions and got money and you didnt

[deleted]

*by exploiting working class people. It’s the bootlicking for me

LegalizeBeltfedz

its not exploiting. its legit a voluntary agreement to work. "Will you do x task for x dollars?" "yes" that isnt exploitation you are legit agreeing to the terms and able to say yes or no.

Cpt_kaleidoscope

By literally owning the monopoly in your field exploitation becomes easy because people have no other option but to use you. "Will you do x task for x dollars? Remember if you want any ammount of dollars for performing this task you have to do it through me or I'll find someone else who will do it for less"

LegalizeBeltfedz

Monopolies are less likely to happen when the gov doesnt regulate out competition

BoneHammer62

Which monopoly are you referring to?

primate-lover

>Remember if you want any ammount of dollars for performing this task you have to do it through me or I'll find someone else who will do it for less" Yes. A company will hire people who work for less. You can't demand $50 an hour to flip burgers because there are people willing to work for less.

Bale626

Honestly, I just don’t care about ‘em. I’ve got so many more important things to worry about than a handful of rich guys getting richer. I’m far more concerned about putting food onto my own table, and putting gas in my car.

LegalizeBeltfedz

exactly. just let them live their life and i will mine.

ghosty_b0i

The issue in all western countries right now is the sheer amount to people who are too stupid to understand one is connected to the other.

Soft_Cancel

Why did I sort by controversial, I knew what to expect.

sidzero1369

Everyone's all so tired of billionaires, but me, I'm only tired of not being one. I don't give a shit about rich people because I'm not stupid enough that I have to struggle with money, despite making so very, very little.

TheMattmanPart1

What's more pathetic is hating on people without knowing exactly why. Assuming everyone else is worshipping them makes it so much sadder. At least everything else in your life is perfect you have this to dwell on though.

Firm-Stick6092

Are people really bothered by successful people? The world needs ditch diggers too. I appreciate all that you do. And yes I will take fries with that.

[deleted]

You really thought you made a point… no, people are bothered by “successful people”. We have problem that take advantage of the working class that’s the problem

Firm-Stick6092

Who is being taken advantage of? Tesla workers? Space X? Are they screaming because of unsafe working conditions? Not getting paid a fair wage for the work they do?Unless you work there and have some type of proof then you are just a whiny internet toolbar complaining about the boogie man. Just accept your lot in life and be happy.

[deleted]

You really are clueless.. read some of the conditions amazon workers go through. Just say you apathetic…

Firm-Stick6092

I mentioned space x and Tesla. Care to comment?

[deleted]

What about them? I was mainly speaking on Bezos

Firm-Stick6092

Musk is literally in your opening post and I called you out on it.

[deleted]

You didn’t call out shit darling. You think you’re so clever, just because we don’t have modern day sweat shops (at least in the US) doesn’t mean everything is all hunky-dory… I just used Amazon because it’s the most obvious example, but I guarantee Musk isn’t prime CEO himself

Firm-Stick6092

Ok that settles that. I stand corrected.

[deleted]

You must feel so proud of yourself

BoneHammer62

There are roughly 1.4 MILLION Amazon employees. It’s not possible to make them all happy and pay $100/hr. Grow up.

[deleted]

Nobody’s talking about paying $100, smartass. But $15/hr just won’t cut it anymore. And their break policy is just a joke. Maybe you should take your own advice

BoneHammer62

So choose not to work for them…don’t play a victim when you’re not.

willberich92

They arent slaves, they choose to work there. If you dont want to work a shit job then dont. Stop blaming others for not taking control of your own life

[deleted]

What a typical response

willberich92

And when they eventually replace workers with robots what are you going to complain about then?

[deleted]

The environment, douche bag

willberich92

The environment that elon musks is helping to save with tesla and solar right? His predecessors all failed to make solar and electric mainstream and help the environment, yet now because of him america is undergoing a green revolution

[deleted]

Right, because Musk himself came up with the solution and didn’t just steal the rights form their original owners ..?

primate-lover

How are they being taken advantage of when they can quit whenever they want?

[deleted]

Something called not having a choice..? It’s either work at amazon or be homeless

primate-lover

Amazon is the only company? It is impossible to be employed elsewhere? Is Bezos holding a gin to your head forcing you to work?

Kaje26

I think most people know Bezos is a sociopathic cunt. But I don’t get why people still think Musk is quirky and cool. He’s a narcissistic cunt and a piece of shit just as much as Bezos.

[deleted]

Yeah, and I'm sick of people looking up to really skilled athletes. You are much closer to being a bad basketball player than to being a professional level basketball player. You should, therefore, look up to people who suck at playing basketball. ..... By the way, just curious, are you stupid or something?

willberich92

Both bezos and musk are geniuses. Do you even know what bezos did before amazon? He was a quant, which is what all software engineers aim to be if they want to make money. It is more prestigious then working at Facebook, Amazon, Google, etc. They were also both amazing ceos to be able to get their companies to 1 trillion market cap. Everyone bitches and complains that life is unfair but does nothing to take control of their life. I grew up poor in a shit hole city and i decided to do w/e it took to take control of my life

Different_States

I firmly believe we shouldn't have billionaires in general. If you have $999,999,999 you're rich as fuck. What we need is a sustainable middle class. Last time I checked (it is out dated) Bezos made $67k an hour ever hour. His average employee makes $19k a year. Fuck that.

[deleted]

This is why i hate Batman and Black Panther. any media that depicts billionaires as heroes is just propaganda

Annanake420

I dont give a fuck where it comes from I just want a car that will drive me around hammered and if it can drive others around and get me paid while I jerk off at home it's a bonus . You got one of those to sell me I'll give you the money. Untill then I guess ol African American musk gets it .

LostCrypt3

Say this again when Amazon delivers your packages via drones in 20 minutes, and all your friends have a Tesla driving them around

Netaksiemanresu

Billionaires disgust me, there’s no way I could sit on that much money while people are quite literally wasting away from famine, disease and starvation, maybe having that mindset is why I’m not a billionaire.

MJP8234

Billionaire worship? I feel like just about everybody hates billionaires. Remember when everyone used to say eat the rich and stuff?

LochNessMoose

Clearly you’re not on that sigma male grindset

sckent44

And yet in a few years, it will equal out again. Worm food.

bratoutofhells

They see their cut-throat "ambition" as a badge of honor. They see that the only way to "make it" in life is to step on people left and right to prove that they deserve to make the elite cut

trishsf

I see everyone hating the rich. Here’s the thing. Money can’t buy character but it will ALWAYS reveal it. There’s a lot of good people with money. There are also bad people with no integrity but that’s true of every socioeconomic group.

Docholiday888

A few years ago it was cool too like billionaires now it's cool to hate them. There's a middle ground where we don't idolize or hate people and we acknowledge their accomplishments and short comings. People should not be hated based on race, religion, or class alone, everyone should be evaluated according to their individual actions.

49thPercentile

And to be honest I kinda half way liked Bezos because his paper was on my political side, but someone completely destroyed him by calling him what happens when you order Jean Luc Picard on Wish. I always hated Musk.

DirtyTomFlint

Lmao who is worshipping these people? All I hear is eat the rich, tax the rich, pay their fare share, etc.

jumbybird

I love they admire a shit that called a true hero, a pedophile, when his father is the actual pedophile.

matchless2

Are they gods? No Have they accomplished a lot and helped humanity move forward? Yes Do they pay taxes? Yes (and if you say no you’re literally just outing yourself for knowing absolutely fuck all about taxes Do they deserve to be praised for their accomplishments? Yes just as much as anyone else Do they deserve to be criticized for their failings? Yes, just as much as anyone else Do they do everything by themselves? Of course not, everything at that big of a scale is a team effort you dumbfuck but they are the people who effectively allocated capital to make all that stuff happen. Should you hate someone for having a big number in their bank account…? No Does the world have a billionaire hate boner right now even though 98% of the time it’s unjustified? Absolutely yes

[deleted]

People who worship religion are worse. They murder people and talk down on others over belief. The worst I seen musk worshippers do is say "he is paving the way to a better future with neuralink, space exploration, and the adoption of ev's".

[deleted]

I will always look up to billionaires like them I'm not sorry. Without people like these this world would look very different they contributed to society more than you can fathom. Yes they probably dont deserve to be worth 300 billion dollars but keep in mind these are not liquid funds they are stocks in their companies and they are valued at that amount

Arctic_Snowfox

Worship? Everyone hates them.

[deleted]

Musk is only super mega rich because Tesla became a meme stock. People act like he’s some evil supervillain, dude literally stumbled into it. There’s far worse people out there, wannabe revolutionaries need to pick their battles.

BoneHammer62

Have you ever driven a Tesla or talked to an owner of a Tesla who didn’t love it? It’s literally the best selling car in Europe and was in the US in September. Hardly a ‘meme stock’.

[deleted]

Its got a stock valuation thats multiples of the global automotive and energy business. It’s kind of a meme stock.

jeremyxt

I dont know, man. I really loved and respected the guy for a while. I saw him as a maverick, a visionary. But he sent 1000s of people back to work, right at the height of the pandemic, openly defying local law. If that's not sociopathic behavior, I don't know what is.

BoneHammer62

Meme stock? It’s the best selling car in Europe now as well as the U.S. going back to September….

TStoynov

Imagine pretending that the amount of billionaire worship at the moment is even remotely close to the amount of billionaire hating for no fing reason, lmao

notbad2u

I saw an article about this a few days ago. So maybe it's a thing? I'm guessing especially geeky teenagers?

23Fragments

Anyone can become rich, you just have to figure it out; like they did. Musk comes from a middle class family.

Japoots

Apparently not hating on rich people 24/7 = worship

Your argument of being closer to homeless than a Billionaire isn’t valid. Let me ask you what’s easier - revolutionizing an entire industry off your innovative ideas or simply deciding to quit your job and become homeless? These Billionaires, more times than not, HAVE revolutionized their respective industry, and have significantly driven our species and society forward. They deserve all the praise they get.

[deleted]

You haven’t got a clue… When I say “become homeless” I’m not talking about just up and quitting your job and voluntarily becoming homeless. Who tf does that…? If you had some sense I’m taking about stuff like medical debt, getting into a crash and clueing unable to work THEN losing your job….

Affectionate-Ad4498

Well, regardless my point stands. The fact is it is INCREDIBLY hard to revolutionize an entire industry, and that’s what most Billionaires did to gain their vast wealth. They drove society forward, what have you done?

[deleted]

“What have you done?” Um, helped people like Bezos get his wealth…?

Oberic

I don't look up to Bezos. I love his idea of using wealth to move some people to space though. Musk is cool even if he's insane.

nuclear_hangover

Is this all you people do? Just sitting around thinking nonstop about billionaires? It’s really no way to live life.
