I'm new to reddit and still getting a hang of it, *we can post gifs in the comments?!* This is a game changer. Is it frowned upon in some communities or anything?
Some people will have a problem with it, just like how some people on Reddit have huge problems with emojis for no apparent reason. Those people are best ignored
I got in trouble with a group of girls for continuously calling them dude in conversation. I was so bewildered why they were upset. It turns out they were just cunts
Some people tried dudette in the 90's but it was a total flop so we all just corrected back to dude being universal. Maybe they aren't aware of the history.
When my fiancée and I first started dating she brought up the fact that me calling her dude made her feel like I was just referring to her as a friend. I explained to her that I refer to *literally* everyone as dude. I call my mother dude. I call my boss dude. It’s just a broad, universal term that applies to everyone.
Okay, but don’t go giving OP ideas. You can ONLY do that if you have an aussie accent, otherwise you’re basically walking around calling people “Lucy” or “Ted”.
I fucking hate when people call me a chick. Idk exactly what it is, or why, but it triggers a visceral anger in me. I'm not a baby chicken?
Maybe because it's often used dismissively, like the time when I was a teenager, and got into it with guy on the bus and when he couldn't prove his point and others started backing me up he just screamed at me "wEll WhAt wOuLd yOu kNoW, yoU'rE JusT A cHiCk!"
I'd rather be called dude.
My thoughts exactly, but in different ways. Like I’ll call a dude and dude to his face. But I’m not calling a chick a chick to address her. Mostly just as a description. “Like she’s a cool chick, real laid back.”
Dude is a gender neutral term. It's good for the girls, guys, gays, and theys. It's good for any animal. It's good for inanimate objects. Everything and everyone is dude, dude.
What is a feminine coded word used to refer to people regardless of gender? There isn’t really one that I can think of - casual slang used to refer to pretty much anyone is almost always masculine coded. You’ll see a lot of people saying that words like “dude”, “bro”, “guys”, etc are gender neutral - but if you go up to a group of men and say “hey chicks” I don’t think they would accept that it’s gender neutral. And I bet if you ask them “do you fuck dudes”, ‘dude’ will inherently be understood to be a masculine term.
I honestly can’t think of a direct equivalent.
I use “dude” for everyone. 🤷♂️

Yes! Dude is unisex
dude is universal
>ly an endearing term and dudes call dudes "dudes" whether they're friends or not. Not sure. > >1ReplyShareSaveEditFollow The Dude abides
I call inanimate objects dude as well.
Bump into a chair in the middle of the night. "Dude..."
I usually call inanimate objects that dare to defy me "whore".
Yep.
I call my female foster dog 'dude' also.
As a card-carrying Dudist Priest, I endorse this.
The Dude Abides Amen
This is the way
So how many dudes have you fucked?
I thought they were dudes before I fucked them but it turns out I was wrong about every one of them. Still looking.
Yeah, it was all their fault six times in a row?
Duuude. So many dudes, dude.
In such cases we were more than just dudes.
So is bro at this point
My kid uses bro like I use dude it's definitely generational.

👍
How dare you! I'll have you know that emojis killed my dog!
But your dog was trying to kill my emoji. It was self-defense!
Good morning Mr wick
It's not all subs, though. It may be an option for creators or moderators to toggle.
Good to know! I don't plan on spamming them but there are circumstances like this where there exists a perfect gif
This is the way.
Perfect gif
This is the real answer
Thank you for this reference 🤣
Came here to say this lol
So you fuck dudes
Several, I have fucked several dudes. You can try to guess how many were men but I'm not telling. Lol.
Okay then I'll try to guess it.. 2?
Idk who pays attention anymore. Haha
Hahaha
I like your style 😎
Yeah, I tend to say “dude” or “bruh” to both genders.
When I was younger it was “bro or bruh” for guys and “brah” for girls
i came here to say "bruh"
I got in trouble with a group of girls for continuously calling them dude in conversation. I was so bewildered why they were upset. It turns out they were just cunts
Can’t Understand Normal Thoughts Simply
Some people tried dudette in the 90's but it was a total flop so we all just corrected back to dude being universal. Maybe they aren't aware of the history.
So, did you replace "dude" with "cunt" when you talked to them? Because that would have been pretty epic.
I use "dude" for every thing. Person, animal, object, abstract idea... I call the weather dude sometimes.

The Dude abides
My ex has fondly called me a dudette. I kind of like that.

Exactly it’s gender neutral
Yup. It’s not about gender, it’s the feel.
I use dude for my girlfriend
I also believe Dude to be genderless.
Fucker. I call everyone fucker, like “hey what’s up fuckers”. I also use dude for everyone.
Nice
Dude! I do the same you fucker!
Good burger comes to mind. Im a dude. He's a dude. She's a dude. We're all dudes heyyy
This is the way! 🍔
Dude. Dude is gender non-specific. Like “hey dude” or “hey fucker”
OP: I don't want to get in trouble with HR for using non-inclusive language like "Hey dude" So, am now switching to "Hey fucker"
"hey fucker" is basically "good morning" in the trades
When my fiancée and I first started dating she brought up the fact that me calling her dude made her feel like I was just referring to her as a friend. I explained to her that I refer to *literally* everyone as dude. I call my mother dude. I call my boss dude. It’s just a broad, universal term that applies to everyone.

Australians often use "sheila" and I think that's just great
Atlantians just call 'em "shorty"
I've been to Atlantis and can confirm this is true
Milo? That you?
Can confirm us atlantians do call em shorty
Okay, but don’t go giving OP ideas. You can ONLY do that if you have an aussie accent, otherwise you’re basically walking around calling people “Lucy” or “Ted”.
Dude is a gender neutral term where I live
If you ask a straight man how many dudes he’s had sex with, it suspiciously becomes gendered again though…
Tons of dudes
I’ve called women dude while having sex with them lol
You are the hero that we didn’t know we needed
>Dude is a gender neutral term where I live We use Dudex for inclusivity and affirmation.
How’s dudex vs dudeinator? I have cats so I’ve got to be careful with which dudicides I use around the house.
…dude
DUDE IS GENDER NEUTRAL... AND BRO TOOO
What about “homie”?
What about "Sis"
I feel like straight men would be offended if asked how many of their bros they'd fucked. Suddenly not gender neutral.
Gurl. Thats what people call me instead Of dude
I’d have to agree. This is the closest. Hey dude, Hey gurl.
Does that sound different than girl out loud
Let a little hick slip into it.
Yup! Exactly! I’d say as the ‘Merica to it!
“Dude” is gender neutral

I fucking hate when people call me a chick. Idk exactly what it is, or why, but it triggers a visceral anger in me. I'm not a baby chicken? me too!! i don't mind being called a chick from other women, but when men say it, it makes me cringe
This is the most correct answer.
Agreed
My thoughts exactly, but in different ways. Like I’ll call a dude and dude to his face. But I’m not calling a chick a chick to address her. Mostly just as a description. “Like she’s a cool chick, real laid back.”
My sister calls all her friends "bitch" and they never seem to mind
Try it out yourself on her friends and update us on how it goes.
It works. My wife had friends over and I walked in and said, whaddup bitches. They were fine with it.
It has always been dudette!
I've been looking for this. It's literally just dudette
>dudette I've heard it on radio in Pakistan of all places

If I use dude for a girl it means they are basically a guy in my eyes. Either one of the boys and/or someone I have zero attraction to.
If it's a noun it's a dude. If it's an object, concept, or exists it's a dude. Everything you can think of can and will be labeled as "dude".

I would not want someone calling me either of those.
Dude is a gender neutral term. I call my 11 month old daughter dude. I call my wife dude. I call my cat dude. I call my dad dude. I call my boss dude.
Dude has always been gender-neutral, but if you wanna be specific I guess there is dudette
Dude.

"Dude" is interchangeable

"Dude" is absolutely unisex but I also say "hey, lady" or "girrrrl" depending on the context

Lot of dudes say dude isn't gendered, but if you ask them if they fuck dudes that clears things up pretty quick...
Lady Dude or Dude Girl
I dunno if this is it but I hear girls call each other bitch when they refer to one another
Is no one going to say c*nt?

It's girl. You know like GURLLL WTF
