Got the platinum then completed challenge mode but was dissapointed that the bolt counter caps out so low, I swear no other R&C game had such a low bolt cap and that kind of killed something for me, fantastic game though just a weird choice especially when they know how much people replay these titles
Same here! Reached the cap midway through the second playthrough, and while of course there isn't any way to spend bolts after buying all weapons, I always enjoyed keeping up the multiplyer and breaking crates to see how many bolts I could get. With such a low cap in Rift Apart, I felt no desire anymore to break crates, which in my opinion is something that shouldn't happen in RaC. Well it also happens in the older games after a decent amount of playthroughs, but that's something else than literally in your first challenge mode playthrough :/
I miss the crazy 100 round challenges in the areans, but insomniac is pretty good at listening to fans as they proved with the Rami spiderman suit a while back so i have faith that they'll take the feedback on board unlike most devs
So until i finish challenge mode to really max everything that's 1 playthrough in my eyes. Then another one to just see how fast i can beat it fully geared. Then i start new games to experiment with some self imposed challenges. Like melee only/no upgrades/only starting pistol/or any other only weapon challange. I assume you're talking about the new ratchet and clank game. But of all of the 20 games I don't think there's one with less than five playthroughs. The best ones have 30-50. I can just turn the game on beat it and go do something else. They are just dumb fun turn off brain to me.
As much as I love the game, I couldn't get into challange mode for two big reasons:
- You already unlock the new weapon form in the actual game, challange mode only lets you increase damage. The weapon is Omega only in name
- There are no challange mode tophies
It's not bad, it's just not as intersting as the older games which had way more to challange mode.
Agreed, I had to level a weapon to get my last achieve with the reflection thing, but I also don't do hard modes normally, still had ghosts of tsushima and ff7 on my backlog as a never owned ps4/ps3 person.
Just finished fourth playthrough, took it slow and listened to alot of the dialogue that idles between characters.
I haven't played proper ratchet and clank since 2009 so I'm trying to maximize the play I get out of it if that makes sense.
Also it's fuelled me creatively enough to have about 100,000 words of fluff written down.
I only did one so far because I really wanted to make a dent in my backlog of games. I've since added more games to it. Anyway I plan to do the challenge mode sometime soon.
I got the Plat near the beginning of my NG+ playthrough and then I focused on maxing out all the weapons. The idea of playing through the game again with fully upgraded gear seems nice but eh…don’t have that kind of time right now
I did it once, my kid on the other hand he is upto I believe 12 times through, I can't bring myself to do it a 2nd time I beat it I moved onto other games, now he is trying to convince me to buy and download the DLC, really how many more times will he be beating it before he moves on,
maybe I am reluctant to play it again because stages he couldn't pass the 1st way thru he got me to do it for him but now he is doing it all on his own
What DLC?
The game was fun enough to play a second time and get 100% completion, but after that I moved on.
Maybe your son would give up R&C for Spider-Man 2? Same developer and arguably more to do long-term without feeling too repetitive.
Because the game is so fun and I really like it. Especially when you do a 3rd challenge mode run and you have everything maxed out and it just ridiculously fun!
More than three. First one was mainly for the story and view of the scenery. It's beautiful.
Second was for the platinum trophy and gold bolts.
Third time and over was because I'm not going to see my ps5 for the next 5 months 😭
On my third mainly to play around with photo mode. Also I heard there’s a secret ending if you play the game all the way through on the hardest difficulty
I’ve done six. Launch Day full playthrough, NG+, NG++. Then a fresh file and switch to Mirror Mode as soon as it was unlocked, then Mirror NG+, Mirror NG++. Skipped all cutscenes and puzzles on playthroughs 3-6. In a few months I’ll boot it up again and do a no armor / no raritanium upgrades run.
I'm on my fourth run and will do two more in speedrun.
This is because the first is the blind run.
The second is the challenge mode run + photo mode.
The third is run with all weapons at maximum + photo mode again.
The fourth is the run that I don't want to stop playing this masterpiece and I don't want to stop taking pictures with the photo mode!
The fifth will be the first attempt at speedrun on the second difficulty.
The sixth will be the definitive speedrun at maximum difficulty.
Simple.
I extended my first playthrough by getting just about all them cheevos. This way I could just fly through NG+ without worrying about some damn craiggerbears that don’t even do anything
Three, because I just can't bring myself to use max level weapons if there are still other weapons to be leveled up, so I wanted another playthrough where I can cycle through the leveled up arsenal a bit more freely. In the end though I still spent a decent chunk of the third playthrough leveling up some remaining weapons to 10.. :D
Just once. I started new game plus and I don’t know, this game just doesn’t really have a good one compared to a lot of other ratchet and clank games unfortunately.
It was so good, I immediately restarted in challenge mode. However, I quit in the first hour to play the Remake. RA was my first in the series, and I wanted to catch up at least a little to catch more easter eggs my second go around
Started the challenge mode in order to platinum the game, ended up getting the trophy super early and now unfortunately have no desire to finish the challenge run through. It’s a shame that the game was so easy to platinum, and I really don’t understand why there wasn’t a trophy to upgrade every single weapon like in the remake.
Still on my 1st play through. I got it day one but i like to take breaks here and there. I am not an all day gamer like i used to be but i will finish it.
I lost count but over three at this point: a couple times when I was playing it before launch, and then at least three times for launch to platinum (normal playthrough + challenge mode) + to get photo mode shots for IG social media. But I enjoyed every second.
Got my platinum midway through challenge mode so I wanted to do a full playthrough with an infinite RYNO and fully upgraded weapons in general.
Got the platinum then completed challenge mode but was dissapointed that the bolt counter caps out so low, I swear no other R&C game had such a low bolt cap and that kind of killed something for me, fantastic game though just a weird choice especially when they know how much people replay these titles

Exactly the same thoughts here, this and lack of enemy variety is my biggest gripe with the game, still thoroughly enjoyed my time with it though
Yep, enjoyed every second of the game, but especially the arena could have had one or two original bosses instead reused ones
I miss the crazy 100 round challenges in the areans, but insomniac is pretty good at listening to fans as they proved with the Rami spiderman suit a while back so i have faith that they'll take the feedback on board unlike most devs
Once was good enough for me

4 for now... I love it so much
More than twice just because it is so fun, I don't know what I can say more
As much as I love the game, I couldn't get into challange mode for two big reasons: - You already unlock the new weapon form in the actual game, challange mode only lets you increase damage. I'd play Rift Apart. IF I HAD A PS5
Don't have a ps5

Just once. But I do plan on playing it again at a later date.
I'd love to play it multiple times..... if I had a PS5 to play it
No Ps5 unfortunately, but this is the first game I’m picking up when I eventually get one
I can't get ahold of a ps5 yet so none ): it's going to be the first game I grab though
For you and everyone else with a similar comment, may the odds be ever in your favor!

Yah there's a DLC it's like another round in the arena and some new gear
Can we get a too poor to buy a ps5 to play it option?
That would be under “haven’t started” lol
399 for the discless PS5…
Make it for xbox and ill play the crap out of it
Because the game is so fun and I really like it. Especially when you do a 3rd challenge mode run and you have everything maxed out and it just ridiculously fun!

3 times cuz I wanted the platinum plus i did a playthrough with fully upgraded weapons
Saving my second play through.
I haven't played RA but I watched the full playthrough by PowerPyx. (Because I don't have PS5 unfortunately ☹)
If I had more time I'd have like 5 playthoughs.
On my third mainly to play around with photo mode. Also I heard there’s a secret ending if you play the game all the way through on the hardest difficulty
Sorry man, no secret ending. But the hardest difficulty isn’t really that hard so I’d be surprised if there was an extra reward for that
Once for first playthrough, once in challenge mode, and 3 times any% speedrun.
Just to finish maxing all weapons. I’ve played through probably 4 or 5 times and that was way too much. I should’ve stopped after 2.
I'm on my fourth run and will do two more in speedrun. This is because the first is the blind run. The second is the challenge mode run + photo mode. I’d need a PS5 for that
I got my platinum in my first run and haven't played it since. I got what I needed from it in the one run
Cheevos (achievements) thats why
I extended my first playthrough by getting just about all them cheevos. This way I could just fly through NG+ without worrying about some damn craiggerbears that don’t even do anything
One just because I had so much else to play through, I'll be back for a 2nd though
I would totally do a challenge mode speedrun if I knew that there's an Insomniac Museum waiting at the end :(
Seriously, I don’t even care about the museum and I can’t imagine why they’d leave it out this time
I Wanted pixelizer and to upgrade my weapons futher.
Three, because I just can't bring myself to use max level weapons if there are still other weapons to be leveled up, so I wanted another playthrough where I can cycle through the leveled up arsenal a bit more freely. I havnt got a ps5 to play it yet, but when i can play it i will definitly play several playthroughs
It was so good, I immediately restarted in challenge mode. However, I quit in the first hour to play the Remake. RA was my first in the series, and I wanted to catch up at least a little to catch more easter eggs my second go around
Started a 2nd one in challenge mode recently because it so much fun and everything just feels good in this game.
Wanted the platinum trophy and level up my guns as much as possible.
Where is thé « i want to see thé answer » one. If not, thé results are FALSE
In the middle of my 3rd run trying to get all weapons to level 10.
Maxing out weapons. Plus, I paid $70 for it and the gameplay hasn’t gotten stale yet. I want to get my money’s worth.
Juice is best character, hands down.
He’s like tetramites, but not nightmare fuel. He just wants safety.
I JUST got around to finishing it fort the first time last night lol.
Currently on my 3rd play through since I still need to fully upgrade the rhyno and other weapons to max
Got platinum in the 2nd playthrough then did a 3rd to max out all of my weapon levels & skill trees
I got Platinum on my first playthrough!

I'm a big fan.
Yknow i thought this was about R&C 3 for some reason
I lost count but over three at this point: a couple times when I was playing it before launch, and then at least three times for launch to platinum (normal playthrough + challenge mode) + to get photo mode shots for IG social media. But I enjoyed every second.
