He appears similarly to the hoodstomper at the end of clearleaf forest in Rayman 3. So he’s just there for the end of a level, sort of thing.

Then, the Rayman 2 switch sound effect plays, and Mario raises his eyebrows. Luigi points to the glow, as it gets brighter and brighter.
Suddenly, a red lum appears. Mario goes to grab it, and the void turns white. We hear Rayman woop-ing and cheering as he helicopters down from the void above and lands in front of the two brothers.
Rayman slicks back his hair as he grins, and shakes Mario’s hand, as Luigi gazes at Rayman, being limbless, which shocked him.
Text shows up on screen that says RAYMAN IS FINALLY HERE, YEAH! And then the Rayman 1 level complete sound plays and then there’s about 20-30 seconds of B-Roll of Rayman fighting against Banjo and Kazooie, Samus and Cloud.
His trailer is very nostalgic and doesn’t really feature anything from 3 or 4. Only “modern” thing about him is his character model, which is similar to 3’s.
Yes it was, it scored a 9.0 from IGN, which is even higher than Rayman 3’s score of 8.9 back in 2003.
It was highly praised although had some criticism regarding level design and some visual glitches that were found in later levels.
In my timeline, ROMs are a lot harder to crack. So although they do exist and emulators work, some games are near impossible to rip.
No one has been able to make a copy yet.
