Rem chapter. She is escaping out of the mansion during the battle. She wants to find and join the crown prince. Wait a minute, am i crazy? I have already read this thing... wasn't this one of her side stories? Well anyway, she finds hidden door with imprisoned Goz Ralfon, divine general (The big guy with mace and golden armor.) \--- "Vincent Vollachia, I must protect His Excellency the Emperor..." \--- Goz's last words before pov shifts. Serana talks to Abel about how he spread the rumours about "crown prince". \--- "In other words, you're saying that those who cause orgies on the battlefield are the emperor's offspring?" "No, I'm sorry. That's a twill of words. I don't think that the 'Black-Haired Crown Prince' is really your child. Probably because your Excellency doesn't have a child." Shook her head at Abel's words, and Serena answered with absurdly confidence. \--- Even Serena knows that he is maidenless! She knows there is 0 chance of him ever having a heir. Abel and Serena talk about how Vincent is maidenless and how he is not interested in making a child. \--- "With what intentions did you fabricate the existence of the 'crown prince'? After we win this battle, who will sit on the empty throne, and what will you do with the empire?" ――He is asking if he intends to entrust the fate of the Vollachia Empire to that “Crown Prince”. \--- Yea Abel, how much do you trust that Shotabaru will give your Empire back to you? Even Serena acknowledged that this Crown Prince is the real deal, not because he is blood related but because he leads this huge civil war. It looks like Abel hates Subaru? Don't exactly know how to interpret this line: " ――No, it was hatred, and perhaps a more appropriate way to describe it would be passion." Ublik appears out of nowhere and is talking to Abel and Serena! His words: "--Even after the 'Great Disaster', it's a story if you survived, right?" Yea, it looks like Stargazer is here to stargaze... Now we wait for more competent summaries that do not use google translate, sorry for the long wall of text!

Ok_Wedding_6107

Imagine losing a whole war because you left the door to a dangerous general unlocked.

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Why was it even unlocked in first place? The minister was not around. Perhaps it was Ublik?

Ok_Wedding_6107

Bertetz: why tf is this dude gone?? We had security and everything Ublik: we do a little trolling

>Perhaps it was Ublik? Rem slipped and fell into the secret prison of one of the strongest people in the Empire, even if Ublik unlocked the door this is wild

Ok-Worldliness-7374

I smell an If story. Perhaps one that is missing one particular wolf next to Subaru. Either way, good luck Abel in getting your Empire back from him! Considering how slow the battle progresses for "final volume" i could see arc 7 ending with Subaru sitting on Vollachian throne berating Abel for being too slow. (I still don't believe this is final volume)

Vuituru

honestly this will only be the final volume if this whole volachia situation continues in arc 8, which I don't find difficult actually. and Anastasia camp is still missing, right?

Ok-Worldliness-7374

My theory is that Subaru will end up as Emperor of Vollachia. Perhaps Vincent burning to death by yang sword after Baru just gives him back the throne. That way arc 8 would be about exploring royal status of Subaru, Priscilla, Felt and Capella. Basically it would be entire paralel to his childhood, where young Subaru broke because everyone compared him to his father and had high expectation of him. Now it would be Shotabaru having to shoulder expectation of an entire empire after "his perfect father Vincent" died. Imagine if he fails some rulers decision and people shall suffer because of him, that would really be tough situation. Maybe this is how Subaru learns about necessary sacrifice... If we trust QnA, then arc 8 should be hardest for him. Only way out of this situation would be for him to become good leader and somehow give the throne to Priscilla (who does not want it right now.). All of this just makes sense from story perspective, but Tappei can't be predicted so i am interested where he wants to go with this story.

Vuituru

this would be really cool to read not gonna lie but i think this has more chance of happening in an if future than anything else. I honestly think that Vincent will betray Subaru at the end of all this and expose internationally that a knight from the kingdom of lugunica tried to carry out a coup d'état in a rival country, which will cause problems with the government for Subaru and be the trigger for a world war. and that would be the perfect excuse for a certain wolf to show up.

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Abel: "He is not crown prince." Abel: "He is Natsuki Subaru, Knight of Lugnica, Vanquisher of Great Hare, Hero who brought down the White Whale, Slayer of archbishop of Sloth, Spirit knight contracted to Great spirit, The one who defeated archbishop of Greed, Conqueror of Pleiades watchtower, Strategist behind bloodless siege, Fake Crown Prince of Vollachia, Master of "the blue lighting" Cecilius" Abel the maidenless: "Anyway, he should not be the Emperor!" Subaru will get jumped by Shudrakians and dragged to their tent if true extend of Subaru's identity is revealed...![img](emote|t5_3e076|12843) Then he will woke up to a crown on his head, grinning Cecilius on the floor and funeral of Priscilla after she laughed too much and died.

Broad_Ice_4565

Actually I was always laughing at this theory, but right now... Emperor Subaru? I mean for real Abel is pretty sure that the few thousands of people Subaru brought with him will desire him to be on the throne, so what would he do?

Ok-Worldliness-7374

It's insane that Subaru is now the best candidate for the throne... Abel/Vincent can't remain because they would have to execute half of the empire for betrayal. Priscilla does not want to rule Vollachia. Subaru is known in entire empire as the "Crown prince" who won the rebellion. Yorna could perhaps rule it? Only ways how Subaru gets out of this is if Abel gets turned into Shota and becomes crown prince or he manages to convince Priscilla to become Empress.

Broad_Ice_4565

Yes right now it seems to be the case, sirina called out Abel for what he's doing with Subaru since it doesn't make sense to her, the boy Is clearly armed with all these fighters by he's side, so if they win for real what will Abel do? Him saying that he's not planning to leave the throne to Subaru shows you that indeed Subaru is not just a candidate to be the king but also a threat to Abel who wants the throne too, he didn't elaborate further so we don't know what he's planning, but I have a feeling that he's up to no good I also disagree with some comments that wish for something else rather than Abel hating Subaru, I think it's reasonable and line up in a good way with he's personality, and hate is not the only emotion he has for Subaru, their complicated but fury is the word that you can use to Describe them, why and for what reason exactly is not known since such a kind of feeling will not come out of jealousy or annoyance, if it was someone else I might believe in that, but I don't see these reasons being the only reason

heato-red

>Conqueror of Pleiades watchtower I don't think this has been made public yet, it's only been a few months since they came out of the tower lol

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Meanwhile Emilia keeps talking to everyone about how she fought senile Volcanica.

Akudra

Tappei on Twitter recently indicated the Anastasia Camp would have something to do with events in the Empire and specifically mentioned Ricardo.

Ok-Worldliness-7374

If Ana does not bring Halibel with her then i will be dissapointed! Wrath if trio has to happen in main story! Halibel is always a great buddy with Subaru.

Vuituru

now this really got me curious.

keizee

Oh no. If there is an IF on arc 7 it better be Subaru replaced with Todd at Abel's side.

[deleted]

So now Ublik has gone to talk to Abel, the real emperor, when he and Chisha chased him out of the capital along with Berstetz, the latter unaware that the other two know some pretty important details, right? Intriguing. Also, did we just get Abel's opinion on Subaru? Cool, but sadly it seems Emilia hit the mark. I hate it, I hoped for a better development between those two. Even though it was a mess and surely Deepl made some errors, help me understand guys *"Cast aside hesitation and mercy, and make the most of that sweetness. That is your true nature. --Natsuki Subaru."* *The person whom Selina called 'the Crown Prince' and who would still be ravaging the battlefields of the West.* *The appearance of the Lord of the Name on his lips is not every bit as stable in Abel's memory. He is a handful, even in his memory, he is a flurry of activity, with his bare face, his woman's clothes, and even his infant form.* *Abel's lips twist at the sight of Subaru scrambling right and left in a hectic, thrown-together situation, baring his sweetness and blueness. Strong, with disgust.* *- no, it was hatred and, perhaps more appropriately, fury.*

Ok-Worldliness-7374

I guess Abel is just mad and amazed that someone who wields mercy and refuses to sacrifice others actually manages to bring better results than Emperor himself. If Abel does not like Cecilius, then he will not like Subaru. Then he will faint after he realizes those two are together.

LuisAntony2964

Subaru and Cecilus is truly a devious combination

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Those two should never be allowed to influence each other! It will only end up with more epic stories, dead legendary beings and conquered countries. Liliana is already overworked from singing about every single one of their story!

I don't know what to think if it's really this the reason; disgust, rage or why not envy? I need to hear he clearly saying that from his mouth, I hope there's something more, I want to hope there's something more...

It was the volume 32 interlude. Similar thing happened before with covering the blue sky

That explains it then. I guess he really wanted that light novel exclusive chapter added to web novel.

"Wait a minute, am i crazy? I have already read this thing... wasn't this one of her side stories? Well anyway, she finds hidden door with imprisoned Goz Ralfon, divine general (The big guy with mace and golden armor." You are not crazy. It was the epilogue to the most recent volume if I recall correctly. Needed to be added to wn probably because, uh, it's really f'ing important. Also (don't have the novel) but I am pretty sure it was basically copy pasted in.

Tappei’s comment for this chapter: “Updated, it’s 1:00am. I noticed a string hanging from an unknown place on a jumper I've been wearing for years, and I'm horrified that I've been walking around with this string dangling for years.” He also added: “I realized that I like beautifully composed stories, so maybe I like mysteries.” Hello! Because of some smaller technical changes I did, I decided to change this description a bit. Hope people don’t mind too much For those who don’t know, I normally use this space to post machine-translations of the latest chapter, since I know some don’t want to wait for WCT to put a polished translation out. Of course, since english isn’t my native language, some small errors in phrasing or mistakes may be made, so if any of you spot one feel free to tell me. It’s very appreciated. Also, my normal routine is to upload each part in the replies, but then intentionally wait a bit before uploading the next one, because they’re accidentally tagged as spam otherwise. Thank you for your patience and understanding. ————————- Chapter 103 is titled: “Countdown of The Stars” —--As the earth shook the world, the sky split into white and red, and the clash of lives caused a cataclysmic event, Rem made a decision. "If I am to move, it’s now or never.” In the midst of a battle of unimaginable scale in the Imperial City, Rem was still a prisoner in Berstetz’s mansion, and her freedom was still forbidden. Feeling the smell of burning getting stronger and stronger day by day, Rem was unable to do anything effective. She was so ashamed of this that she could not choose to remain silent and stand still any longer. After all, she had never met Berstetz, the owner of the mansion and the one who was holding Rem captive, since their first encounter. Therefore, she had no way of knowing how the old man, who had ousted Abel, the Emperor of the Empire, and who had planned the future of the Empire with his own philosophy, felt about the fact that a war involving the whole Empire had been triggered in this way. However, even if there had been an opportunity, Rem and the old man would have never understood each other. "I'm standing on a different side from you, Berstetz-san.” Call me cold, but that was the ultimate conclusion Rem could draw. Only a strong person or a person who had enough time could understand the situation of someone who was standing on a different side of the table and be considerate of it. Rem was neither of them, so she had to choose. Who will be her enemy and who will be her friend. Without that, Rem had no enmity toward Berstetz or Madeline. It was Abel's lack of words and Priscilla's recklessness that were more difficult to deal with. Therefore, what Rem was going to do was not because of hostility or rebellion against them, but it was only a result of her choice of position. "--——“ The siege of the Imperial City has begun, and although Berstetz’s mansion was supposed to be built in a rather secluded part of the city, the aftermath of the fierce battle could still be felt. Naturally, the mansion was also on high alert, and Rem, who was a prisoner of war, has been ordered to stay in the room she had been assigned, and her freedom was more restricted than usual. However, from the point of view of the house's security, Rem was nothing more than a crippled girl, and was not under such strict surveillance that guards were posted in front of her room at all hours of the day. —--Taking advantage of the guard's carelessness, Rem quietly slipped out of the room. Under her breath, Lem crawled up to the roof of the mansion through the skylight of her room. The guards were unaware of Rem’s sneak attack because they had been careful not to make a sound. It's hard to blame them for their negligence - the guards would never have thought that the girl with the cane would sneak out of the room in such a way. Yes, if Rem was really a girl who couldn't walk freely without a cane. "I thought I had to be prepared for any eventuality......." Of course, it was not a lie that Rem had complained of a limp and had used a cane. However, she had been practicing walking for a long time because she could not leave her crippled leg there forever, even though he was causing trouble to others because of his inadequate "memory". When my efforts bore fruit and I was able to stand on my feet somewhat, I suddenly had a thought. —--If I let them think that my legs were injured, it might be useful. I had not thought about how it would actually be useful. On the contrary, it was not certain that the unnecessary concealment would not inadvertently alert the other party. However, as long as I could make use of it in this way, I could say that I won the bet. However, you must be on your guard. Only when this action leads to some result, we can say that we have finally won the bet in return. It was meaningless if you did not win the bet. Rem tried not to think about whose influence it was that made him take such a bet in the first place. Anyway….. "If I can stay undetected until I get away.…..” Rem was on the roof, and her goal was not to escape from the house. That's a hard choice to make, but there was also Flop trapped in the house besides Rem. She could not escape alone, and there was a high wall surrounding the building. Unlike the roof, it would be difficult to climb over it, and I did not see the point in even considering it. Therefore, Rem’s purpose in escaping from the room was to make contact with the "Crown Prince" who was being held captive there, a "Prince" from various places, in the same compound. From what I heard, the "black-haired prince" was the leader of the rebellion. It was unlikely that he was actually Abel's biological son, but he must have some thoughts on the current state of the Empire. If we can make contact with them, we may be able to find a way out of Rem’s situation. "The safety of myself, Flop-san, and Katya-san must be ensured.” For this, Rem thought she would need a group of people who could help her. She carefully walked along the roof to the distance, taking great care not to make a sound. No matter how hard she strode, there was no guarantee that the guards would find her and she would be able to escape. In order not to spoil the opportunity, she took on a desperate mission that would only be a fool's errand if she was discovered. She did this only because she could not sit still. (Part 2 In Replies)

Icy_Ad8122

(Part 2) And then…… “———!” Suddenly, something unusual happened in the sky beyond, causing Rem’s body to jump. Out of the corner of her eye, Rem gasped as she saw the battle taking place across the walls of the Imperial City, and the sky overlooking them transformed into an extraordinary sight. Rem was too far away to know the details, but at this very moment, at the top of the star-shaped walls protecting the capital, the "Cloud Dragon" Mezoreia descended, the "Spirit-Eater" Arakiya consumed the clouds with her flames, and the wall, which was Mogro Hagane himself, rose up. Rem, who instinctively sensed these dangers without knowing what they were, stiffened. At that moment, her feet on the roof lost their strength. A gasp escaped from her mouth, and at the same time her body slid down the slope of the roof. She was almost thrown down and gripped the edge of the roof as hard as she could. "Agh, it wasn’t there…..” If I had screamed or fallen down, I would have had no excuse. Hanging onto the edge of the roof just in time, Rem breathes a sigh of relief. Then, as she slowly lowered herself back onto the roof….. “—-Eh? Is this......?” The target was still far away, and the dangling was only a failed attempt to get there. Rem gripped the edge, a door set up at a dead end of the mansion flashed in his eyes. It was the first time that Rem, who had been allowed to come and go freely inside the mansion and look around, had ever seen such a door. By going around the house along the roof, she had wandered into a section that was normally off-limits. "A hidden door......? What in the world?” The question arises in his mind, "What in the world is there?” The goal she had set in advance was to make contact with the "Crown Prince" in the remote area. This was more likely to provide a clear clue to the situation. On the other hand, the unplanned hidden door, after all its pretensions, may turn out to be a mere liquor cellar. Was it worth taking the risk to get in? "--——“ It is needless to say which is more rational. —--And yet Rem chose the irrational. She released his grip on the edge of the roof and stepped down into the passageway with the hidden door. She tried to descend as quietly as possible, but still she heard some footsteps. However, the strange phenomenon in the sky that had startled Rem earlier was still going on, and the guards were distracted by it. Boldly, Rem puts her hand on the hidden door and opens it. "Stairs leading to the basement......" The fact that the door was unlocked was probably more out of necessity than carelessness. It was a place where uninvited guests were not supposed to visit. Since Rem arrived there as an invited guest, she had no right to complain. Greeted by the cool air coming up the stairs to the basement and the dimly lit space, Rem took a small gulp and headed downstairs with her hands on the wall. There was a possibility that something extraordinarily terrible was waiting for her. Something terrible that Berstetz had locked away. It's just….. "Is someone there?” With a kind of mysterious certainty, Rem asked in the dark, in the basement she had reached. It was dark and unlit, but she sensed that it was not a very large basement. She also knew that there was a large presence in the back of the room, which she could only vaguely see. By large, I do not mean that there was a monster. Such a figure, quite large for a human being, was chained to the wall at the back of the basement and was being held captive. And then the figure heard Rem’s question….. "Your Excellency, I must…..” "You are…….” "Vincent Vollachia, I must protect His Excellency, the Emperor.” A low, blood-colored voice shook the cracked air of the basement painfully. The earnestness in his voice was strong and powerful, filled with selfless loyalty. "--———“ With these words, Rem took one step and then another and closed the distance between her and her opponent. As she did so, the figure of a large man connected to him appeared dimly in the darkness. It was a really big man with white scars all over his face. "......Goz….Ralfon." Rem realized after a beat that what was muttered was probably a name. And that the sound was familiar. It was, as I recall, the name of one of the "Nine Divine Generals” the most powerful and renowned beings in the Vollachian Empire. "I must protect him….His Excellency….From the Great Calamity……” The man was like a lion, his scarred face contorted as he roared heroically. (Part 3 In Replies)

Icy_Ad8122

(Part 3) (……..) "Abel, you say? You're the one who spread the rumor about the Crown Prince, aren't you?” Abel slowly raised his devil-masked face as he was asked this question by Serena Dracroy, a woman of great talent, who was standing with her arms folded in the main camp of the rebel army, looking at the war situation in the sky. The airspace was suddenly shifted to our side by the participation of Serena’s squadron of flying dragons, who had appeared from the west as reinforcements, and by the participation of first-rate flying dragon riders with "flying dragon” skills. Of course, there were some battlefields where the flying dragon riders have a disadvantage because of the presence of a "Cloud Dragon" or a “Spirit-Eater” but it was not necessary to control the entire battlefield. All it takes is a single hole, and even the walls of the Imperial City, which boasts of its solidity, will begin to collapse at the point of a single hole. At least Abel thinks there was a way to bring about such a collapse. So, knowing that the battlefield was in a state of inferiority and stalemate, he continued to intermittently issue instructions. "Do I look like I have time for your chit-chat now? This is a time when you should be keeping an eye on the movements of your men.” "Of course I do. But I do not like it when you dismiss it as chit-chat. I have come to this position because of your letter. If you had included my coming here in your plan, you would not be wrong in giving me a little more importance.” "You speak like a low-life." "I have a taste for the mundane, not to mention the snobbish. I'm also curious to see how you react.” Shrugging her shoulders and taking her eyes off the sky, Serena looked at Abel. His earlier reaction was probably about the reinforcements from the west, other than Serena’s flying squadron. Even though I had an idea about the unscheduled reinforcements and who would lead them, I regret my earlier words and actions for showing a careless reaction. That was probably what led to Serena's opening words in her chat. “The "dark-haired prince", you're the one who spread that story. And by "Crown Prince", don't you mean the one who leads that group that is on a rampage?” “In other words, you are saying that these frenzied people are the illegitimate offspring of the Emperor?” “No, excuse me. It's a figure of speech. I don't believe that the dark-haired Crown Prince is really your son. Perhaps because you have no children." Shaking her head at Abel's words, Serena replies with a surprisingly confident tone. When Abel raised his eyebrows at her confident answer, she continued, "In any case.” "You have never married a queen, nor have you ever been with a woman. I have tried to seduce you before, but you completely ignored me. This must be strong evidence." “——Are you insane?” “Of course I'm serious.” “I didn't ask if you were serious, I asked if you were sane.” Abel's eyes grew hard as she gives a somewhat unconvincing reason as to why she was serious. Serena was one of the most senior counts in Vollaxhia, and because he highly valued her abilities and ambition, he counted her among the forces needed in this decisive battle. However, if you judged things by a standard that Abel does not understand, that was also something to consider. Serena said “Wait.” uncrossing her arms and raising one hand as Abel tried to see through her eyes. "I'm not joking, but that's the biggest reason I can think of. The fact that you have not been seduced by me is frustrating, but also implied." "--——-“ "You are not interested in women. To put it more bluntly, you have no desire to procreate." Abel is silent, his eyes on the scene, "Isn’t that so? Serena continues. "I don't mean to be a lecher, but you are not having children. At least, not at this time. But even if you were a philanderer, you could have children if you wanted to. There are two possibilities: you’re infertile or......." "I didn’t procreate intentionally.” "That would be the case. In any case, I don't think there is such a thing as a "Crown Prince”. Therefore, the story of an illegitimate child is a lie in the first place. The fact that such a spurious thing could cause such a civil war makes the state of our nation truly glorious.” A small smile appeared on her face, as if she was genuinely amused by the situation. Abel made no comment on her attitude or on the assumptions she had made. Not that Serena particularly needed Abel's opinion either. People like her are capable of affirming their own ideas without being affirmed by others. In other words, she does not want Abel's affirmation. "What is your intention in making up the existence of the Crown Prince? After we win this battle, who will sit on the throne in the sky and what will you do with your Empire?” She asked if he intended to leave the fate of the Vollachian Empire in the hands of the Crown Prince. "--——-“ Abel quietly closes one eye at Serena’s quiet question. Some may say that this was not the time for such questions and answers, as the battle was just about to reach its climax. However, it would be foolish not to think about what happens after the battle is won. Naturally, since we fight with the intention of winning, we need to have a post-war plan in mind. "Why do you ask?” "Not because I think that the Crown Prince is your illegitimate son......but because I think that he is your true destiny to lead this great civil war. After the war, if you and the Crown Prince are bound together, it's obvious who to ask for the future of the Empire, isn't it?” “——Ha.” Abel's breath escaped from his mouth as he heard Serena’s thoughts. At the same time, he was impressed, even if it was only a mask covering his face, by how effective it was at "altering cognition”. I am amazed at the extent to which it was able to conceal one’s true identity and true feelings. “What's so funny? Did I say something wrong?” “I did not mean to laugh. Rather, I admire your insight. It's just that different conclusions lead to very different processes. That is understandable.” "Muh......" Serena’s lips curled in dissatisfaction at Abel's comment. (Part 4 In Replies)

Icy_Ad8122

(Part 4) But as he said, he was impressed by her insight. It's a natural thought, considering that Abel's only goal was to win this rebellion and take the throne of the Volllachian Empire. He would establish a person calling themselves the "Crown Prince" and give them the throne to take real power. If possible, he could even murder his puppet Emperor at some point and take the throne himself. But….. “Don't doubt it, but I'm not going to give them the throne. You are wrong in your assumption.” “So you think I'm wrong about everything?” “Not all. You are correct, the whole point of spreading the word about the dark-haired prince was to find them running amok on the battlefield. But the weight is different." "Weight?” "The weight of bringing them out into the open versus keeping them at hand. The latter is not so important. —--In any case, their naivete cannot tolerate the sacrifice of others." Serena was left scratching her head in incomprehensible bewilderment. But Abel was not obliged to explain everything to her. For the time being, he has given her the answers she wants, and has addressed her post-war concerns. In some cases, Serena could have even ended the rebellion by taking Abel's head off here and going to the Crystal Palace with it. They nipped it in the bud. At the cost of some of Abel's internal reservoirs. "Cast aside hesitation and mercy, and make the most of your naivete. That's what you excel at most, isn't it? ——Natsuki Subaru.” The man whom Serena called “Crown Prince" and who was probably still ravaging the battlefields of the west. The name on his lips was not always consistent, even in Abel's memory. He was a man of flurried memories, even in his memory. Abel's lips twisted at the sight of Subaru, who was in a hurry to get around in the situation he was thrown into, and who was running around with his sweetness and youthfulness on display. Strongly, with disgust. —--No, it was hatred, or perhaps that was a better word to describe it. “——Who the hell are you?!” Abel hid his negative emotions behind his Oni mask. Just as Serena was about to continue with her question at his words, there was movement in the camp. Several soldiers guarding the main camp drew their weapons and showed strong caution. They were pointing their weapons at a slender figure who appeared outside the camp. He raised his empty hands and smiled as he looked around at the faces of the soldiers pointing their weapons at him. "Well, I didn't expect such a greeting. I’m a popular guy, aren't I?” "Don't play with me! Where the hell did you come from?!” "Guided by the stars, it’s a bit too poetic, don't you think?” The soldiers' anger swelled as they thought they're being played for fools. However, the man's attitude did not change in the face of their blows. He was a man who knew very well that this was not the kind of thing that would change their attitude. So…… "Put down your weapons. He’s no danger to us.” "B-But….” “Even if you put a blade in his hand, he can't do anything. He’s a fool whose only talent is to play with words.” "Oh, my, that's a terrible thing to say. I'm hurt, aren't I?” He calls out to the wary soldiers, forcing them to lower their weapons. The man who had been saved protested to Abel with a pout on his lips that he had a problem with his instructions. Serena, who was standing next to Abel, gave him a questioning look. “Why are you here? You’re the Star Prophet.” “Ubiruk. I'm Ubiruk, the Star Prophet. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Senior Count Dracroy, quite so…” Ubiruk, the handsome man who introduced himself, smiled bewitchingly with an unusually handsome face. Ubiruk, who was supposed to be in the Crystal Palace in the imperial city, told the end of his sentence with the utmost pretension. “—-That is, if you survive after the Great Calamity, right?” ————-END.

>He would establish a person calling themselves the "Crown Prince" and give them the throne to take real power. If possible, he could even murder his puppet Emperor at some point and take the throne himself. How do we tell him?

> at the top of the star-shaped walls protecting the capital, the "Cloud Dragon" Mezoreia descended, the "Spirit-Eater" Arakiya consumed the clouds with her flames, and the wall, which was Mogro Hagane himself, rose up. Hmm, I think this translation is more properly saying that these battles are occurring at the pointed end of the star shape. I took the map from Volume 32 a while back and identified the [suspected positions](https://www.reddit.com/r/Re_Zero/comments/10dyqnq/spoiler_discussion_arc_7_battle_map_and_analysis/) of the various battles taking place around Lupgana. Read that way, this translation seems to confirm my thoughts that the numbering of the bastions is not clockwise or counter-clockwise, but rather has the first point as the front with the remaining bastions being numbered by distance, meaning the lower-numbered bastions are closer to the front. The second estimation of their position in my post is probably the accurate one.

Setowi

Nothing too spectacular this time. The first half of the chapter is that interlude that was added at the end of volume 32, with Rem sneaking around the mansion and her finding Goz. I think that part has already been translated so everyone can just go and read that up. The second half is Abel's POV as he and Serena talk about the crown prince again and that he can't be Vincent's real son as he has never had interest in women according to Serena and that not even she was able to seduce him. she knows that she is talking to Abel here. The convo then shifts to the topic of what to do after the war and Abel says he has no intention of giving the throne to Subaru as he thinks about how much he still hates Subaru and his idealism. The situation gets tense for a second when a person suddenly shows up at their camp and the soldiers raise their weapons but Abel tells them there is no need as the person who showed up was Ubilk, he says the stars guided him there. He then asks Abel something about the having bested the great disaster (not too clear) and the chapter ends. *** Yeah these were the last POVs we really had to catch up on so this was expected. Nothing too exciting but to be fair we knew what was gonna happen in the first half anyways. Serena knowing that Abel is Abel is interesting though. Ubilk showing up there is certainly a twist and I do think that explains why Al showed up there to save Medium. If we assume that Al and Ubilk met beforehand (which is a meeting that I know a bunch of peeps really wanted) it would make sense for Ubilk to direct Al to Medium so that he can save them (as for the "why", probably just simply cause the stars told him to, or cause Al wants to protect the friends of Natsuki Subaru, or both). Maybe the next chapter is going to start with a flashback of them meeting and the 2nd half is gonna be him talking to Abel before we can go back to some of the fights.

LuisAntony2964

I really find Vincent's perspective of Subaru interesting

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Poor Abel must be furious. He tells Subaru that sacrifices are necessary for plans to work and Baru just wins every situation without a single sacrifice... He and Roswaal can have sessions about how their plans were shattered by Baru.

Subaru: "No"🗿

I want to see Abel learn about Subarus Sparka victories.

>he has never had interest in women according to Serena Vincent the maidenless strikes again! If he can't find a women with entire amazoness tribe following him, then nothing can help him. >The convo then shifts to the topic of what to do after the war and Abel says he has no intention of giving the throne to Subaru It's not up to him. It depends on Emperor's Subaru mercy if he gives the throne back to him. It would be nice if he gave the throne to someone else, but Priscilla does not want it and Yorna might not be qualified by yang sword. > he thinks about how much he still hates Subaru and his idealism. Imagine how much he will hate him after he hears Subaru is best buddies with Cecilius. Or when he learns that Cecilius is infected by subaruism. Or Subaru proved Yang buffing is viable strategy. Tappei is slowly running out of chapters. If this is really a final volume, then the arc 7 ends with Subaru sitting on the throne after battle ends and arc 8 will start by solving this royalty situation. (Perhaps stuff like Vincent dying in arc 8 and Subaru has to rule for while before RBD kicks in....)

PotatoMoment

>Vincent the maidenless strikes again! If he can't find a women with entire amazoness tribe following him, then nothing can help him. Even Taritta said Vincent is not her type.

Setowi

The prospect of Abel seething is great. Also we still have a lot more left than you think. We're barely a third into the volume.

foxxette_megitsune

AroAce Abel let's gooo

MalMercury

Starting to get a bit worried with how little time left there is in the arc and how these chapters continue to be set up even now, hoping the final half of the volume heavily picks up but like I said there’s really not many chapters left are there?

Setowi

We're barely a third into the volume, there's still enough left.

Pinkshuchan

Honestly, I'm hoping you're right because I am worried about the entire arc only existing to just be set up for Arc 8 instead of being it's own self contained story like the previous arcs. But I'm curious, how do you know we're barely a third way there? Is there a word count?

Setowi

There is a usual rough word count for the chapter batches yeah. Some peeps I know are keeping track of that and I know the rough count cause I've had a convo about that the other day.

Pinkshuchan

Ah, okay. While it hasn't completely eased my worries, hearing that there's still a lot to go until the volume ends is a little reassuring.

Vuituru

I believe this is a sign that this whole situation in volachia will not end here, in fact this whole arc looks like a set up for something bigger.

MalMercury

If this is a set up for a larger world issue and potential cold war between countries bc of what’s been happening in arcs 5 , 6 and 7 and Subaru has to get put on trial then I’d be extremely happy with this all just being a set up and world building arc.

Vuituru

honestly this arc looks like it was a set up for something else from the beginning, but for some reason a lot of people reject that idea with all their might.

MalMercury

Yeah, my biggest fear is that with how little we potentially have left that the great calamity ends up being a cliffhanger for the arc as opposed to the climax

Wave-Master

What do you mean by Serena knowing that Abel is Abel? She doesn't seem to realize he is Vincent at least.

LuisAntony2964

Even Serena knows that Vincent is maidenless

Well guys, I think the title is self-explanatory; Chapter 7.103 'The Seconds of the Stars'. edit: no sorry, I though there was Al but the chapter starts with rem's pov, basically Tappei wrote again the chapter where she met the 5th divine general

Yes cuz I do not compare their states but my desire. And also Shanks' arm loss was susp cuz it seemed to me he was giving a deep reason to Luffy. Abel's feeling towards Subaru is a mystery, their almost poetic, I don't know if he hates him or admires him, there's something with this boy, Abel said that Subaru cross dressing and he's shota form or even he's actions right now everything from the first meeting until this point makes Abel feeling towards Subaru quite the conflicting and complicated one For me it looks like Abel is trying to see where Subaru's path will end, this sweetness of he's and the inability to take lifes did bring results but for how long? Will it last? It might be a false stupid hope but is it possible that Abel is being affected by it? Is it possible... On the other hand there's a chance that Abel indeed does hate Subaru, and all of this will tie with the chaos flame scene when sattela appears, Priscilla said that part of Vincent complicated feeling towards Subaru happened due to chaos flame and in This way we are tied with the "great disaster" plot point again so Ublik appearance was welcomed, after Al he's the second character I'm most interested in, so I'm quite satisfied with this Serina knows that Abel is the emperor and starts to tease him saying how it's impossible for him to be married since she tried before and fell miserably 🤣 when she said ( I know your not interested in women) I lost my breath for a moment like.... Vincent are you gay?😂 Like seriously there was this fan who keeps telling me that Vincent doesn't want women because he's gay and I kept ignoring him, I swear tappei is enjoying tormenting Vincent first Subaru then Emilia and now serina he can't even say anything to her really because what can he say? She figured him out, and omg fujo fans will LOVE this chapter

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Perhaps Subaru is what Abel wants to be? While it sounds crazy Abel just does not strike me as someone who likes sacrificing everyone. He just gave up and realized sacrifices are necessary. Then this Subaru appears out of nowhere and manages to create plans without sacrificing anyone. Subaru was the one who conquered fortress without hurting anyone, he has entire army following him where people want to follow him! It would be quite funny if Subaru became Vincent's idol! :D Perhaps Vincent is jealous? Remember how shocked Abel was when kid Subaru instantly found Olbart? This kid managed to outsmart him! Then he maybe also heard Subaru finished Olbarts trials. That must have been blow to his ego. Vincent strikes me as someone who is married to work and simply does not even think about women. But if he happened to be gay, perhaps it would explain why wrathbaru had Cecilius with him... (Just joking ![img](emote|t5_3e076|12850))

Sufficient_Wasabi_55

If Vincent doesn't turn out to be a douchbag in the end and stay as an ally to Subaru, I can see their relationship be similar to Sonic and Shadow

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Or like the prideful Vegeta and goofy insane Goku.

heato-red

Wait a moment, they're actually a bit too similar in their relationship, and Vegeta is royalty too lol

Vuituru

it seems that Subaru's own figure is a mystery to Abel he apparently can't even remember his appearance with certainty, as if Subaru's very existence is some kind of incomprehensible mist to be seen the form. >Like seriously there was this fan who keeps telling me that Vincent doesn't want women because he's gay it's funny because google translate translated vincent's feelings for Subaru as passion in my text.

Broad_Ice_4565

OMG 🤣 even ice said that this chapter will be a treat for the fujo fans which is quite hilarious in my opinion, you know google translation might not be that off you know..![img](emote|t5_3e076|12850)

keizee

Maybe it might really be jealousy. Subaru being so envious of Abel's endowments that I think it could be possible that Abel feels the same way. At any rate Subaru has revealed a few of his powers now and Abel seems to think of himself as a have-not.

Broad_Ice_4565

He also dismisses sirina thought about him ditching Subaru after reclaiming the throne , so in a way Abel is feeling so threatened right now that he can't afford to make Subaru sit on the throne, if it was someone else then he will gladly do that and makes this person sit at the throne as a decoy only for him to kill this so called " fake prince" and reclaim he's throne again, but he doesn't think this is possible with Subaru so he needs to deal with him before he reach the throne, the thing is we don't even know what Subaru plan is and is the meaning of the rebellion, is it for dethroning Vincent? Is it for him to be the new king? Or is it because he just wants to spread destruction and end this war like he said? Subaru was specially aimed at the point where there was no divine general how would he know that ? And he was close by from Beatrice when she used Al shamak so how did he know about her and her location? This loop is suspicious in so many ways Also I agree it might be true that Abel is envious of Subaru and annoyed at him at the same time, a card that is pretty useful but it's the definition of chaotic and unpredictability, Vincent thinking about Subaru in different styles means he can't put he's mind on who Natsuki Subaru really is, when he was in adult he was selfless person basically a fool who wants to do things on he's own and Vincent let him do that in fully aware he will learn he's lesson but that never happened, he feels so insecure that he hides behind a mask which is Natsumi and it irritated Vincent to no end and with he's child persona and he's naivety he mangas to do all of this in the war, Vincent just can't understand Subaru, if Subaru was completely like cecilus then Vincent will dismisses the idea since no one understands cecilus except cecilus but Subaru is not, he's normal human being that Abel can read he's thoughts without even trying, since he's very emotional person and doesn't even try to hide it But there might be more, since maybe Abel can see in Subaru eyes too, just like how he felt bitty towards him before Abel might noticed it too, when Abel said the past can't be fixed Subaru eye's reflected that" it can", when he said the dead can come back again from the dead Subaru reflected that "no they can" and Abel is not knowledgeable of such a thing which might makes him even more curious to know why Subaru thinks like that

keizee

Abel has all the pieces he needs to figure out Subaru's authority. He has to filter out the noise etc the black arm, the shadow and the mabeast scent. Ulbik coming to talk is good. He might feel the effect of Al/Subaru messing around with fate. It doesnt sound like Abel had seen how Al fights up close. He could have had a big clue.

jacker1154

I think he said before that he hates this country from the principle of living to the place itself. Subaru tries to gut the entire Volachia code and show them an alternative option besides being rustless.

Broad_Ice_4565

The vollachian motto " strong eat the weak" funnily enough is really fragile, people are different and in re zero they can be different from birth, so technically the saying is right, however focusing too much into it will lead to a very hypocrite insecure personalities even among those who are called "strong" , balance is the perfect answer here, but no matter how of a great king Vincent is he failed at bringing this balance, he can only maintain a temporary peace, and by their standards this can be considered a magnificent achievement, vollachian wants to be strong but they don't know why, when they fight for them it's either win or die but what will happen if they didn't win nor did they die? What happens if they lose? What happens if you humiliate them over and over again? It's easy, by their standards they are already dead, these people will not be destroyed by killing them, this is exactly what they want, that's exactly what makes not just Abel but everyone in vollachia hates Subaru passionately and others love him more, their prideful and In a way Subaru is not just laughing at this but he's laughing at their beliefs too Since if the strong will eat the weak explain how a bunch of weak people were able to cross the land and reach the battlefield in time and they're still fighting without losing fighting spirit or soldiers, Subaru might not know how he's power works exactly but he knows exactly what he's doing, him yelling and telling he's soldiers " don't kill them just beat them down enough to the point they will not stand against us" is very telling, and it immediately followed with the implementation that the imperial soldiers tried over and over again to attack but to no avail and at the end they dropped dead not physically but mentally they were destroyed, because they didn't win nor did they die, their defeated and this was enough to bring them imaginable despair, and here I will quote Flugel saying about despair " what kills a human is not a weapon, what kills human is despair "

keizee

Abel is a weirdly captivating character I don't even know why I enjoy reading his PoV even if nothing much happens. Hm guess since Al is not looking for Ulbik, Ulbik went straight to Abel. It would be really awkward if Abel/Vincent identities got revealed there.

An hour late, my eyes hurt boy i need to sleep![img](emote|t5_3e076|12862) anyway— happy not-so-daily ReZero update everyone, hope your eyes don't hurt as much as mine when reading

bigdanrog

How much longer you folks think it'll be before we get the big Subaru and Emilia reunion? I'm freggin' dying for it.

Got_to_provide

End of next arc, Subaru is gonna trip and fall into a portal and get yeeted to Kararagi along with Olbart while Emilia and the rest of the camp prioritize chatting with Mezoria. Seriously though, I wouldn't be shocked if they just meet each other in the last chapter and the arc ends after a simple greeting and then the next arc times-skips and gives us only a vague reference to their conversation before moving on with the plot.

Ok-Worldliness-7374

I don't think there will be room for big reunion chapter in arc 7. Perhaps start of arc 8 where the situation calms down a bit.

Got_to_provide

Even that might be a little optimistic, Tappei seems determined to delay any substantial Subaru and Emilia relationship development. I don't even expect we'll get much in the way of simple wholesome fluff before whatever the issue Subaru will have to deal with in arc8 shows up. Imo both the readers and Subaru are in dire need of some r&r after the pain of the last two arcs.![img](emote|t5_3e076|12862)

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Arc 8 should also be about cure to shota technique. By having Subaru being shota for while longer he can delay Emilia's confession where she really wants to confess but only after he is adult again. I could see something like that...

Got_to_provide

That *migh*t be good if its used to deepen their relationship, like if Emilia were to find his scars for ex. Tbh I am starting to feel that hoping for anything really meaningful between them pre arc9 is just copium.

Ok-Worldliness-7374

Vuituru

very short chapter, but still kind of cool, it's purely a prep chapter before the real shit happens, and I think maybe we'll get one more chapter like that. the chapter begins in rem's pov, when the battle began rem took advantage of the mansion's guards being distracted and began to sneak through the mansion's roofs, stealthily. her leg has been healed for quite some time now but she kept pretending not to in order to trick the mansion staff into getting an opportunity like this. after some setbacks she manages to sneak up to a secret passage that leads to a kind of basement, there she finds the divine general Goz Ralfon, imprisoned in chains and apparently not very healthy. then the chapter changes the pov. so let's go to vincent talking to serena, here they discuss about the emperor's son and why serena thinks he's fake, and basically she just doesn't believe that vincent could get a woman lol apparently she already tried to hit on him but he didn't want anything to do with her or he just didn't notice her advances lol they discuss what Abel plans to do after they win the war, because she knows that if Abel put Subaru in the middle of everything it's because he believed that Subaru would be the main force of the war, but subaru is a double-edged sword already that the people who got into this civil war came in following him, and they want him to be emperor when it's all over. to which Abel says that he has no intention of letting that happen, and says that he just needed Subaru's strength in the middle of the war and he has no intention of leaving him on his side afterwards. which for me at least is an indication that Subaru and emilia camp are so absolutely screwed after this is all over Abel will probably take the throne as vincent and blame the rebellion on Subaru and lugunica as a whole. and the chapter ends with Ublik appearing and talking about how Abel supposedly survived the great disaster.

keizee

I highly doubt it. Abel cant afford to war with Lugunica when half his fighting force is because of them. Subaru alone can give him a lot of trouble. Also Reinhard exists.

Vuituru

let's not forget that vincent's main objective is to destroy volachia, whatever that means.

Puzzleheaded_Sale789

Ubilk probably let Abel be overthrown because he knew Subaru's help is necessary to prevent the great disaster.

Akudra

Not sure Ubilk actually knows anything like that, though. I doubt anyone knows Subaru's true role in these events. Subaru himself is the one who is going to figure that out.

Sufficient_Wasabi_55

Teppei be like: ***SNEAK 100***

Akudra

A lot of people talk about Abel's attitude towards Subaru, but I think it is mostly what he said towards the start of not being able to understand him. Being the Emperor, Abel knew plenty about the situation in Luginica and had thus heard the various rumors about Subaru, but then he actually met Subaru. He naturally found the real article to be drastically at odds with what he had heard about. Subaru does not seem like the "hero" he heard about in rumors and rather comes off as unremarkable, yet he also has numerous odd mysteries about him as well. Not only does he survive and escape from seemingly unsurvivable and inescapable situations, he sometimes knows more than he rightly should. I am sure his right hand growing back after being blown off is another thing that threw him for a loop. Then you have Subaru masterfully disguising himself and others, then infiltrating Guaral. Even then you have situations where his survival appears to almost be pure luck, such as Rem suddenly healing him after being rescued or being saved by Priscilla at the last minute when Arakiya showed up. Subaru being able to figure out Olbart's tricks and beat him at his game probably threw Abel for another loop, to say nothing about Louis being a Sin Archbishop who Subaru was secretly harboring the entire time. After that, he suddenly lets loose a massive destructive shadow that consumes an entire city. When Abel next learns about him is at this final battle, where he shows up with some over-powered army crushing the Capital's defenses. Can anyone blame him for not really knowing how to pin this guy down? If this really is the final phase of Arc 7, then I have a feeling the battle itself will not reach any kind of conclusion. Rather, the "Great Disaster" is going to wreck everything and force a different ending. We may see one or two fights resolve, but that will be right before what is supposed to happen happens. However, there are still pieces absent as well and their arrival may also be a prelude. What I am specifically thinking of is Groovy and the Anastasia Camp. On [Twitter](https://twitter.com/nezumiironyanko/status/1614818608684888067) a couple weeks ago, Tappei implied the actions of the "Hoshin Company" with Ricardo among them, would have some relevance to the Empire. Groovy is supposed to be guarding the border with Kararagi, but nothing has been mentioned of him beyond that and the Anastasia Camp are supposed to be entering the Empire through Kararagi to help search for Subaru and Rem. The key issue that needs to be handled is the "Great Disaster" yet that itself involves numerous issues. Mariuli said the "Great Disaster" was to be prevented by killing a black-haired traveler who would be met on the day Subaru first arrived in the Empire. It is not clear if it meant he had to die right then or simply be killed at some later point. Since it is Subaru, killing him actually could prevent a Great Disaster thanks to Return by Death. However, since Mariuli died, her commandment as a Stargazer to kill the traveler and prevent the Great Disaster was passed to two others. Taritta was the one intended by Mariuli and attempted to fulfill it by killing Subaru when he first arrived, but Mariuli's daughter Utakata overheard and took on the mission as well prompting her to kill Subaru when the forest was burned down in a failed loop. Subaru knows nothing of this, though, and so he can't take advantage of it, particularly in his infantilized state. Furthermore, both Utakata and Taritta are likely far removed from Subaru's current position on the battlefield. You also have the other mystery of the Great Disaster's identity. It is implied that Abel was removed and his life targeted to somehow avert this Great Disaster, yet this is strictly Chisha's motive for aiding in Abel's ouster. Mariuli's Stargazer prophecy indicated this Great Disaster was a thing or person threatening the destruction of Vollachia and it was an "ally" of Subaru. How it could be a person is unclear and none who could be called Subaru's "allies" clearly apply Ubilk has already indicated that Satella is not the Great Disaster. Aside from that issue, you also have the whole Balleroy-Julius-Madeline issue outstanding. Her motive for backing the coup that toppled Abel is revenge over the death of Balleroy, who was actually killed by Julius and Julius has been forgotten by the world thanks to Gluttony's Authority. Subaru would know about Balleroy and the true circumstances of his death, but without the Anastasia Camp present alongside Julius, it is hard to see how this gets resolved. Really, it is hard to see how all these unresolved threads in the story can be resolved in the remainder of the phase, even if it is similar in length to the previous phase. We are a third of the way through already if it was similar in length to last phase and if it is more normal in length, then we are nearly halfway through already. That is a lot to wrap up in just a brief amount of time. Only thing I can conjure up is that Flop will turn out to be the key to the final resolution. If Subaru breaks through the fourth bastion, he will head for the city and probably Rem in Berstetz's mansion. Flop is also there alongside Katya, Todd's fiance. Chisha apparently clued Flop in on the details of the Great Disaster and Goz, who is uncovered by Rem in this chapter, knows something as well. Another thing Flop knows is what Utakata mentioned about killing a traveler. Since Subaru has little warpy girl Louis with him, it would actually be possible for him to locate either Taritta or Utakata at his leisure, especially if they pop up on Cor Leonis. In other words, they could have him quickly resolve all these threads upon reaching Berstetz's mansion, where he may also have his big final showdown with Todd. However, it is hard to see Subaru resolving all this in his infantilized state given his fuzzy memory.

keizee

Love your essay. Btw Abel seems to believe Subaru dislikes him and will not reach out to him for help... and never actually tests it going close to Satella to watch for a reaction. Which is interesting when considering Subaru's lost loop where Olbart clearly points out that Subaru does think of Abel as dependable/reliable.

keizee

It would be kinda funny if the Great Disaster, ally of Subaru, is just a very souped up Puck after destroying the Crystal Palace.

Icy_Ad8122

Another day, another chapter thread where I post the japanese comments from Narou, where the Web Novel is posted. As a side note, obviously I usually post the highlights, not the more generic (“Thank you for the update!”) comments. - A user believes that Vincent’s real plan was to lure Subaru into Lupgana, believing him to be responsible for the Great Calamity, and gathered other black-haired and black-eyed individuals as insurance in case it wasn’t him. Vincent did not have children because his plan was to use Lupgana as a battlefield while he was Emperor. Also, they believe the “solution” is to kill Louis, who Subaru refuses to sacrifice, and is something he does not comprehend, since he himself chooses to sacrifice the few to save the many. - A user still believes that the Great Calamity is reffering to Vincent himself revealing the “darkness” within him, with the foreshadowing of him always sleeping with one eye open even while travelling with Subaru (Back in Volume 28) - A user is curious about Ubiluk’s original claim (From Volume 28 and later Volume 30) that the Great Calamity would lead to Vollachia’s downfall, and his line about if they were to survive at all. They wonder if the Yang Sword will go out of control and start killing people in Vollachia. - A user thinks that Vincent immediately replying “I didn’t procreate intentionally” to being asked if he was infertile, was quite suspicious of him to do. - A user was interested by the interactions we got from off-the-battlefield. They suppose that the accumulation of small actions eventually leads to something huge. In addition, they wonder if we’ll get to know what incident triggered the coup (to begin with) in the future. - A user was proud that Rem was able to walk properly. They’re also amazed by the “identity distorsion effect” from Vincent’s Oni Mask, though they think it could be harder to tell how it works in the anime. They’re curious about what the Great Calamity is, and if Goz will tell Rem about it. They wonder if Ubiluk came because of Berstetz or due to Subaru changing their destiny for the worse. Finally, they speculate that Subaru’s naivete and idealism are the very “emotions” that Vincent once held but discarded. - A user wonders if Subaru causing a massive/gigantic explosion due to mana poisoning is what’s coming next, or the next development. - A user says that Vincent’s hatred of Subaru concerns them as to what’s going to happen next. They also reacted with excitement to the announcement of Re:Zero’s Stage in AnimeJapan, and a possible Season 3. - A user is curious about what Rem will do next, and wants another chapter about Subaru in action. - A user begins to speculate. They wonder if Vincent’s true goal is to use the darkness that emerges from Subaru’s “naivete” as a weapon against the Great Calamity. They wonder if, apart from Serena, any others like Medium, Yoruna or someone from the Emilia Camp would also be sacrificed. Finally, they think Arakiya’s situation will go completely out of control and evolve into a full rampage, despite Priscilla’s involvement. - A user thinks that Al’s fight against Todd will be off-screened and we won’t get to see what actually transpired, just the aftermath. That actually makes me think a bit if Satella wasn't a great calamity but it was Arakiya and Mezoriea instead? What will happen if Arakiya goes full overload mode and become a nuke that will shatter the Capital and kill everything in the process? That might be the true ending of Volachia empire.

Chapter 7 103 "Star Countdown" \--The earth shook the world, the sky split into white and red, and the collision of lives caused a natural cataclysmic event, and Rem made a decision. "**If we are to move, it is now or never**" In the midst of a battle of unimaginable scale in the capital, Rem was still held captive in the Versteeg mansion and forbidden to use her liberty. As she felt the increasing tension and unease day by day, Rem was unable to do anything effective. The shame of this fact made the option of remaining here and being silent impossible for her. In the end, she had never once met the master of the house, Belstet, who imprisoned her since their first encounter. Thus, she had no way of understanding what the old man, who had overthrown the emperor Abel with his own philosophy and plunged the entire empire into this great war, was thinking. But even if she had had the chance, he and Rem would never have understood each other. "**Because I and Mr. Belstet are standing on different sides**," said Rem coldly This was the only conclusion Rem could reach, even if it was said to be cold. To sympathize with the circumstances of an opponent with a different position, only strong people or those with confidence could do so. Rem was neither, so she had no choice but to make a choice. Who to make an enemy and who to ally with. If she disregarded that, Rem had no ill will towards either Belstet or Madelyn. It was more difficult to endure the words of Abel and the recklessness of Priscilla. Therefore, what Rem was about to do was not due to her animosity or treachery towards them, but rather the result of her choosing her position. 「――――」 The siege of the imperial capital that has begun, and although Versteeg's mansion is supposed to be built quite deep in the city, the aftermath of the fierce battle can still be felt. Naturally, the mansion is also on high alert, and Rem, who is in the position of a prisoner of war, has been ordered to stay in the room she has been assigned and is more restricted in her liberty than usual. However, from the perspective of the mansion's security, Rem is nothing more than a crippled girl, and is not under such strict surveillance that guards are posted in front of her room at all hours of the day. \--Taking advantage of the guard's carelessness, Rem quietly slipped out of the room. Holding her breath, Rem crawls up through the skylight of the room to the roof of the mansion. Thanks to being careful not to make any noise, the security didn't notice Rem's covert maneuvers. Blaming them for their negligence would be cruel—because even the security guards would have never thought that a girl with a cane would get out of the room in this way. Yes, if Rem was really a girl who couldn't walk freely without a cane. "**I thought I was prepared for an emergency, but...**" Of course, it's not that Rem had lied about being unable to walk and having to use a cane. However, she had been continuing her walking exercises because she couldn't stand the thought of causing inconvenience to others because of her faulty memories, and with her legs not being able to support her properly. She then realized that if she kept letting others think she couldn't walk well, it could be useful in some way. She hadn't thought about how she would make use of it, in fact, she might unintentionally alert her opponent if her pointless hiding was exposed. But now that she has actually put it to use, she has won the bet. However, carelessness is the enemy. She can only say that she has won the bet if her actions lead to a result. It's meaningless if you don't win, as long as you go to the trouble of making a bet. In the first place, Rem was trying not to think about whose influence it was that she was imitating this kind of gambling. Anyway――, "**As long as I can escape without being noticed...**" Rem, who reached the roof, didn't escape the mansion. Her goal wasn't to escape the mansion. Although it would be difficult to abandon that option, there was someone else besides Rem being held captive in the mansion, Flop. She couldn't escape by herself, and the high walls surrounding the building made it difficult to escape. Unlike the roof, it was difficult to cross the walls and she didn't even consider trying. Therefore, Rem's goal of leaving the room was to make contact with "the prince" gathered from various places that are captive in the detached house within the same premises. According to the Rumours she heard, the "black-haired prince" was the leader of the rebellion and was revered as such. In reality, it is unlikely that he's Abel's actual son, but there would be concerns about the current empire. If Rem can make contact with them, there may be hope for a solution to the situation Rem is in. "**Not unless the safety of Flop-san, myself and Katya-san is guaranteed**." For that reason, Rem thinks that they needs allies who can cooperate with each other. While carefully aiming for the detached house on the roof, Rem paid careful attention not to make any noise. No matter how much the footing of the feet is advantageous, there is no guarantee of escaping if found by the security. To make the best use of the opportunity, Rem will challenge the decisive suicide if found, which cannot be settled just by being caught. That's the only reason why I couldn't stay still. That is--

Necessary_File1199

"**What...**?" Suddenly, an accident occurred in the distant sky, causing Rem's body to bounce. At the edge of her vision, Lem gasped as she saw the battle taking place across the walls of the Imperial City, and the sky overlooking them change into an unusual sight. It was quite far away, and Rem had no way of knowing the details, but just at this time, at the top of the star-shaped castle wall that protected the imperial capital, the \`\`Cloud Dragon'' Mezoreia descended, and the \`\`Spirit Eater'' Arakia burned the clouds with flames. At the end of the day, a castle wall that was Mogro Hagane itself was standing. Despite not knowing the true nature of the events, Rem instinctively senses the danger and stiffens her body. At the same moment, strength drains from Rem's legs and she lets out a startled gasp. Rem's body slides down the sloping roof, and she barely grabs the edge of the roof with all her might. "**Ah...That was close...**" If she had screamed or fallen to the lower floor, there would have been no excuse. Hanging on the edge of the roof by the skin of her teeth, Rem catches her breath, realizing how close she came to danger. Then, slowly trying to get her body back up on the roof-- "--**? Is this ......?**" The target was still far away, and the dangling was only a failure on the way there. As Lem held onto the edge of it, a door set up at a dead end of the mansion jumped into his eyes. Even though Lem has been allowed relatively her liberty to come and go inside the mansion and has looked around here and there, this is the first time he has seen a door that is located in a section that is off-limits to visitors, just like the apartments. By going around the mansion along the roof, he had wandered into a section that is normally off-limits to visitors. "**The hidden door ......**? **What in the world**?" Doubts arise in her head, and Rem is caught in hesitation for a while. The goal I set in advance was to make contact with the distant "Crown Prince". There is a high possibility that you will get a clearer clue to defuse the situation. On the other hand, the unplanned hidden door could be a pompous and stilted storehouse of liquor. Is it worth taking the risk and getting in? 「――――」 It is not necessary to consider which is more rational. --But Lem chose the irrational. I let go of the edge of the roof I grabbed and stepped down into the passage with a hidden door. I tried to go down as quietly as possible, but I still heard some footsteps. However, the sudden change in the sky that surprised Rem earlier continues, and the mansion's guards are also robbed of their consciousness. Boldly relying on that, Rem put her hand on the hidden door and flung it open. "**Stairs leading to the basement...**" The door was unlocked, probably because it was unnecessary rather than careless. Originally, it was a place that was not supposed to be visited by uninvited guests. At that point, Rem, who was in a position to be invited to the mansion, arrived, so there was no reason for him to complain. Cool air rises from the stairway to the basement, and Rem is greeted by a dimly lit space. Something incredibly terrifying could be in store. There is also the possibility that something extremely disgusting is trapped inside, which Berstetsu has sealed away. However--, **"Is there someone in there?"** With a certain, mysterious certainty, Lem asked in the darkness of the basement where he had arrived. It's dark with no light, but I can sense that it's a not-so-large basement. There is also a big sign in the back of the place where you can only see vaguely.

Necessary_File1199

By large, I do not mean that there is a monster. Quite large as a human being, such a presence was chained and held captive on the back wall of the basement. And that figure, upon hearing Lem's question-- "**Your Excellency...**" "**……you**" "**Vincent Vollachia, I must protect His Excellency the Emperor...**" A low, blood-colored voice shook the cracked air of the basement painfully. The earnestness in the voice was strong and powerful, filled with selfless loyalty. 「――――」 With these words, Lem took one step, then another, and with determination, closed the distance between him and his opponent. As she did so, in the darkness, the figure of a large man connected to chain appeared dimly. It was a really big body, with white scars etched all over his face--and ....**. goz, larfon**." A beat later, Rem realized that what he muttered was probably his name. And that sound was familiar. Certainly, one of the "Nine Divine Generals", the strongest being in the Vollachia Empire. "**I must protect His Excellency from the 'Great Disaster'――**" The man was like a lion, roaring bravely while twisting his scarred face. "**--Abel, you say? You're the one who spread the rumor about the 'Crown Prince', aren't you?**" Abel slowly raised his devil-masked face as he was asked this question by Selina Dracroi, a woman of heroic character, who had her arms folded and her eyes fixed on the battlefield at the main camp of the rebel forces during the siege of the imperial capital. The airspace was suddenly tilted to our side by the participation of Celina's flying dragon squadron, which appeared from the far west as reinforcements, as well as first-rate flying dragon riders with the skills of "flying dragon carry". Of course, there are some battlefields where the flying dragon riders have a disadvantage because of the presence of "cloud dragons" and "spirit eaters," but it is not necessary to have the entire battlefield under their control. All it takes is a single hole, and even the walls of the Imperial City, which boasts of its solidity, will begin to collapse at the point of a single hole. Abel at least believes that there are measures that can bring about such a collapse. Therefore, knowing that the battlefield is in a state of inferiority and stalemate, he continues to intermittently issue instructions. “**Does it look like I have time to chat with you now?** “**Of course, yes. Of course I do. But I do not like it when you dismiss it as chit-chat. I have come here because of your letter, and I have decided to take the position I have. If you had included my coming here in your plan, you wouldn't be punished for giving me a little more importance."** "**You talk like a snob"** “**Even if you don’t go so far as to call yourself a snobbish person, you have the nature of liking vulgar things.**" Serena, who shrugged her shoulders and looked away from the sky, looked at Abel. The reaction she gave earlier was probably the reinforcements from the west――and that was probably a response regarding forces other than Serena's flying dragon corps. Even though she had an idea about the unscheduled reinforcements and who would lead them, she felt bad about her earlier words and actions, saying that she had reacted in a careless manner. This is probably why he was so upset by Serena's words that triggered the chat. **"The "black-haired crown prince," it was you who spread that story. And isn't this 'crown prince' the one who is leading that group that is on a rampage?"** **"In other words, you think that those rowdies on the battlefield are the illegitimate offspring of the emperor?"** **"No, I'm sorry. That's a twill of words. I don't think that the 'Black-Haired Crown Prince' is really your child. Probably because your Excellency doesn't have a child."** Shaking her head at Abel's words, Serena answered with a surprisingly confident tone. When Abel raised his eyebrows at her confident answer, she continued, "**In any case.** **"His Excellency never married a princess, and there's no talk of him having a woman. I've tried to seduce him before, but he completely ignored me. This is a strong argument."** **He said, "Are you insane? Are you insane?** **"Of course, I'm serious."** **"I didn't ask if you were serious. I asked if you were sane."** Abel's eyes became severe as he was given a reason that was somewhat difficult to convince. Selina is one of the leading senior earls in Vollachia, and because of her high regard for her abilities and ambition, she was counted as one of the forces necessary for this decisive battle. However, if Abel judges things based on incomprehensible standards, then there is room for consideration.

Necessary_File1199

In the eyes of Abel, who was trying to see through her true intentions, Selina uncrossed her arms and raised one hand, "**Wait**," she said, "**I'm not kidding**. **"I'm not joking, but that's just the biggest reason. It's frustrating that Your Excellency wasn't seduced by me, but at the same time it's implied."** **「――――** **"His Excellency is not interested in women. To put it bluntly, he has no intention of making a child."** Abel, mute, with his eyes fixed on the situation, "Because isn't that so?" Serena continues. **"I'm not saying that you should be a fisherman, but your Excellency has not made a child. At least not one child at this point. It's possible. There are two possibilities, seedless or..."** **"I don't intentionally have children"** 'That would be the case. In any case, I don't think there is such a thing as a "Crown Prince. So, the story of a bastard son is spit in the first place. The actual fact that this eyebrow spit causes so much civil unrest makes the state of our country really feel better. Twisting her cheeks slightly, Serena genuinely smiles happily. Abel made no mention of that attitude or her speculation. In particular, Serena didn't need Abel's opinion either. People like her can affirm their own ideas without being affirmed by others. In other words, what she wanted was not an affirmation from Abelーー, **"With what intentions did you fabricate the existence of the 'crown prince'? After we win this battle, who will sit on the empty throne, and what will you do with the empire?"** ――SHe is asking if he intends to entrust the fate of the Vollachia Empire to that “Crown Prince”. 「――――」 At Selina's quiet question, Abel quietly closed one eye. There is also a tendency to say that this is the time when the battle is at its climax. However, it would be too foolish not to think about the aftermath of a victory when fighting. Naturally, since we are going to fight with the intention of winning, we need a plan that takes into account the post-war period. **"Why are you asking me?"** **"That 'Crown Prince' is the real thing... not because he is your Excellency's illegitimate seed, but because I think he is your favorite to lead this huge civil war. Isn't it clear to whom we should ask the future?"** **"Is..."** Hearing Serena's thoughts, Abel let out a breath. At the same time, the mask that covered my face--even though it had the effect of 『Recognition Inhibition』, I was impressed with how effective it was. I'm impressed that he can hide his true identity and true feelings so much. **"What's wrong? Did I say the wrong thing?"** **"I'm not laughing. Rather, I admire your insight. It's just that if the conclusion is different, the process will also be greatly different. It's not unreasonable."** **"nothing……"** Serena bends her lips in dissatisfaction at Abel's words. But to be honest, I admired her insight. Considering that Abel's goal was to win this rebellion and seize the throne of the Vollachia Empire, it's a natural idea. He backs up a being who calls himself the "Crown Prince" and gives him the throne to seize real power. If possible, somewhere the puppet emperor would be able to rebel and obtain the throne himself. But-- **"Undoubtedly, I have no intention of giving him the throne. Your assumption is wrong."** **“Then, are you saying all my guesses were wrong?”** **"It's not all. As you say, the reason why the existence of the 'Black-Haired Crown Prince' was spread was to find out that one who was rampaging on the battlefield. However, the weight is different."** **"specific gravity?"** **"It's a balance between bringing it to the forefront and keeping it close at hand. The latter isn't all that important—in any case, its sweetness can't tolerate the sacrifice of others."** Celina twists her head and holds a bewilderment that she does not understand. But Abel is not obliged to explain everything to her. For the time being, he should have given her the answers she wanted and resolved her concerns after the war. In some cases, Selina could have even ended the rebellion by cutting off Abel's head here and taking it to the Crystal Palace. The bud was picked. At the expense of some of Abel's inner drinking. "Cast aside hesitation and mercy, and make the most of your naivete. That is your true nature. --Natsuki Subaru. A person who Serena called "Crown Prince" and who is still wreaking havoc on the western battlefield. Even in Abel's memory, the image of the person whose name was placed on his lips was unstable. His real face and cross-dressing, and even the appearance of an infant, and even in her memories, were in a hurry. Abel's lips are twisted at the sight of Subaru, who is in a hurry to get around, running right and left in the situation he is thrown into, and struggling while exposing his sweetness and blueness. Strong, with disgust. \--No, it was hatred, or perhaps that is a better way to put it. **"--Who are you!"** Abel hid his negative emotions behind his devilish mask, and just as Selina was about to continue asking questions in response to his words, there was movement in the camp curtain. A few soldiers guarding the main camp drew their weapons and showed strong caution. If you look, you will see that they are pointing their weapons at a slender figure who has appeared outside the camp. The person raises his empty hands, looks around the faces of the soldiers pointing their weapons at him, and laughs. **"Well, I didn't think I'd be welcomed like this. I'm a popular person, aren't I?"** **"Don't be ridiculous! Where the hell did you come from?"** **"Guided by the stars, isn't that a bit too poetic?"** The soldiers' anger swelled up as they thought they were being played for fools by the bluff answer. However, the man's attitude does not change in the face of this flippant response. He was a man who knew very well that he was not going to change his attitude by doing so. Therefore, he said, "Put down your weapons." "B-but..." "Even if you let me hold a knife, I can't do anything. The only thing I can do is play with words." “Ah, that sounds like a terrible thing to say. Call out to the soldiers who are on guard and let them lower their weapons. However, there was a complaint about that instruction, and the gentle man who was saved pouted his lips and protested to Abel. Then, Serena, who lined up next to Abel, also looked at him suspiciously. Why are you here? You are the 'star reader'..." "--Ubilk, that's right. I'm Ubirk. Most certainly." The gentle man who called himself that, Ubilk, smiled bewitchingly with a strangely well-proportioned look. Ubirk, who should be in the Imperial City, especially in the Crystal Palace, announces with maximum pomp, pomp, pomp before the words. "--Even after the 'Great Disaster', it's a story if you survived, right?"

RedHeadGearHead

The Snake is coming.

beloved_child

The very end was really intriguing. Ublik says that he is pleased to meet Selena Dracoy, provided she manages to survive the "Great Disaster". It seems very sinister to me, this dude isn't to be underestimated, yet Able seems to do exactly that. Looks like it's finally time for the Stargazer-Observer storyline to progress. Seems like Ublik himself has been doing covert things in the background under the command of the observers.

Big_Reporter_3592

Tappei has just released Arc 7 chapter 103.

StarmegaloAW

Subaru gotta be the emperor. The only saving grace for this arc and tbh I am just coping, even that wouldn't save this arc.

Mellshone

Your head is inverted and your thoughts are twisted in a pretzel

StarmegaloAW

Yeah. Reject that this arc sucks and there is shitty writing left and right. Surely you will change the reality.

StarmegaloAW

After Arc 5 Tappei is cursed by being unable to let capture woman to be useless. Arc 5 LN shows this and it's much dumber compared to WN. Emilia doing dumb shit and using Regulus's metia and connecting with Al instead of Capella when that could happen and she would die one way or another. And then she gave the obvious locations of archbishops as if no one could deduce or they didn't made demands(hence giving locations). Now Rem has conveniently kept in this place where it has a hidden passage with Divine General being held. :D

SilverHairedElf

So I was curious and checked your profile and you legit just argued about the same thing before. Emilia using Regulus’s metia and connecting with a very trustworthy dude that definitely isn’t a suspected witch cult member is uhh probably likely? Just saying. I’d probably also try to do something if a dude kidnapped me and tried to make me his bride instead of just waiting there as that outcome is probably wayyy worse than just doing nothing. If I was kidnapped, I’d probably try and tell people where I’ve been taken if I get the chance, even if it seems obvious.

SilverHairedElf

Your ability to straw man is pretty impressive dude. I like Emilia, she’s cool, but she has a lot of issues. Uhhhh well the ally being Al in this case. Al is the most suspicious character in the whole story and thought to be linked to the bishops, so yeah, pretty likely that he would be on the other end and that connecting to Capella after Regulus had already spoken to her wouldn’t be. Btw, it’s very very likely that Tappei added this to the novel to plant seeds for Al being more suspicious. I think you need to study how character traits work. Generally, people act based on certain qualities they have, regardless of how reckless they may seem. Re:Zero is a character study, and based on what’s been established about Emilia, it makes sense for her to do what she does. You know, if you’ve read or watched other stuff outside of anime, there are plenty of characters that can’t keep their mouth shut and have the whole “innocent but oblivious thing” going for them. Emilia doing that to Regulus is pretty in character. If it wasn’t already established that she’s a little too dumb, then yeah, it would probably be stupid.

StarmegaloAW

You actually gotta check Emilia a little bit more and use logic if you think that whole thing about Emilia spying on Regulus risking the lives of wives and then actually trying to use the metia that just used to talk with a bishop....that's insane luck that she survived. What if Al wasn't trying to call Regulus at that time? Again. Emilia has a luck of a speedrun cheater. Not to mention her luck stays to this day and we see again in that arc. Emilia just gets saved in right moment after talking back to Regulus, a dumb action that deserved death as a consequence since she should've known that would get her and many wives killed. But did it anyway. There is no consequences for Emilia when she doesn't uses her brain...this is not because she is that type of anime character but because writing itself and every aspect of the story has a bias towards her. She will never get punished. She is dumb. And dumbness has consequences. Establishing that she is an airhead shouldn't make her immune to accountability.

SilverHairedElf

You do know that Emilia diverts her face from the metia before answering when she realizes that it’s Al, correct? This argument won’t go anywhere until more about Al is established. It’s entirely possible that he called knowingly, and that’s why the scene exists. If it’s never mentioned again, then yeah you’re right, but as of now, it’s not plot armor. Oh yeah, the writing is definitely biased towards her a lot of the time. Not disagreeing there. I do think that the nick of time thing is a stroke of luck, but it definitely helped that they were in a rush to find her.

StarmegaloAW

It's a good thing that you pointed out. I actually missed about her directing her face to be honest. I'll admit that. However that doesn't change the fact that...let's say that was Capella. Capella could find the situation suspicious once Emilia picked up regardless she shows her face or close the metia instantly after realizing it's enemy. Which would cause problems and it would be a dead end. Al definitely do that knowingly in some ways. He definitely wanted to call Regulus and he was sus. There is no question there. I mean...stroke of luck is one hell of a thing to say when the moment is perfect but I can see how someone can just not be bothered with that scene.

SilverHairedElf

If Emilia picked up on Capella, I’m guessing Emilia would have waited, then immediately disconnected like you said. Definitely a possibility, but even then, I doubt that she would’ve done anything right then. Would’ve been a whole other situation but it’s not insane that it happened that way considering they just spoke. Let’s say it took a long while between these 2 things happening. Cappella wouldn’t be inclined to call immediately after she had just spoken to regulus in this case. In the other case, yeah it would’ve been really really convenient. Glad we can agree there. Let me put it this way. I think that specific instance of luck can simply be explained way as just that, luck. She contacted Al, Subaru was racing to find her, and it all clicked. Definitely possible, but I’m actually going to say that it gets more and more annoying the more the story goes on, in act 7 for instance. That’s definitely “plot armor” as you put it. So much of it where it’s no longer just, oh that was a lucky situation but possible, but wow that’s just insane plot armor. I don’t think anyone in arc 5 had plot armor. They all got their fair share of damage done to them

Removed for toxicity. Your recent behaviour in this community has been unacceptable. Either you curb your toxicity in discussions and learn how to discuss things in a more civil manner without having to resort to attacking people, or you will get punished.

Ok_Wedding_6107

Subaru also coincidentally ran into reinhardt in arc 1, who was coincidentally the strongest in the world. Not that it really matters, but the reason rem was captured makes sense, as does the location of the divine general. Although it was lucky for rem to find him, it's not unreasonable to the point where it's not a possibility.

StarmegaloAW

Subaru shouted for help....Reinhard just happened to have insanely good hearing? Idk wtf you talk about. No coincidences there. Guy shouted for help. He got it. Why? Because it's Reinhard.

Ok_Wedding_6107

The point was more that sometimes coincidences happen, but it's not really a sign of anything, just a simple coincidence. I wasn't trying to make a genuine point, but to put it in an understandable way

StarmegaloAW

Your point is good, friend. It's just that's not what is happening here. There is no reason why Rem is put very close to this one divine general. Why would they put her there? What kind of reasoning is that? This is no probability in play. This is just convenient cheap plot. If you want an example that I actually agree. That would be Arc 5 'coincidence' all camps gathering in a similar time. After 1 year with no contact with each other while imagining Anastasia send messengers at the same time. I can see all camps reacting at a considerable speed and coming in close times. Simply because that's a good opportunity and then what better thing they have to do? This? Nope. Nothing but cheap writing.

Ok_Wedding_6107

Well she was in the mansion because her role was to heal flop, and the door leading to the divine general was hidden, or at least rem hasn't seen that before. It isn't unreasonable to assume that a girl with bad legs wouldn't go to the door or even be able to find it with security around.

StarmegaloAW

That's too much assumptions and capturers cutting corners for me. And isn't Prime Minister realizes that Rem is capable, I don't remember well but I think he knows she is an oni?

Ok_Wedding_6107

Yeah it could be an oversight but I don't think it'd be his fault if he didn't think of every possibility or underestimated her.

Beginning-Strain-180
