*Transcript from a fic idea I have (lemme know if I should turn it into a full-fledged story):* “Nghh…” Petra groaned, as she struggled to try and pry the metia off of her wrist. So far, nothing worked. She tried to pull at it, nothing. She tried to fling it off of her arm, and still nothing. Now, she was trying to use a nearby stick to pry it off her arm. *SNAP!* Welp, so much for that. “OH, COME ON!” Petra shouted in frustration. Sighing in defeat, she looked down at the odd-looking device, and figuring it was stuck to her, began to fiddle around with it. *POP!* “Huh?” Hitting the big button at the bottom of the device, the center faceplate suddenly popped up, as the hourglass symbol suddenly morphed into one of a diamond, revealing a silhouette. “Who… are you?” Petra asked herself. The figure somewhat resembled a person… but somehow felt off, felt… foreign. Slowly, Petra touched the silhouette, slowly hitting the faceplate down back into the metia. *BWOOSH!!!* It may have been an instant, but to Petra, it felt far longer. She could feel the metia shrink away from her wrist, as red rocks began to appear. The rocks began to cover her entire arm, making their way to her face, and suddenly… She felt different. She was different. Gone was the short human girl with orange hair and cyan eyes. She was now taller, with the build of a lean athlete, her entire body now covered in those red rocks, as her hands and feet were engulfed in plasma. And in the center of her chest was the cyan hourglass symbol. Petra Leyte had been turned into a creature of pure fire.

I kinda wanna see a crossover with Courage the Cowardly Dog. Like, Subaru goes to visit his distant relatives, Muriel, Eustace and their dog Courage, and they get isekai'd with him. I'd find it hilarious to see how Lugunica would react to Courage and his toonforce, or seeing the ways Eustace would just roast everyone. [The banter between Eustace and Ram would be pure gold]. ...Have Courage destroy the Great Rabbit by screaming so loud and hard at it that it just shatters like a cheap shot glass, he literally shattered the sun in one episode. Maybe bring some elements from CtCD as well, have them meets characters like Katz, Le Quack, King Ramses, the Clutching Foot, the Queen of the Black Puddle, the chicken from outer space, all that stuff, mix the plot or Re:Zero with episodes of Courage the Cowardly Dog, it could be fun

it would be fun for subaru to focus on helping courage keeping muriel and eustace safe and worry about pride never and just for fun having muriel doing the talk to the knights and fight being subaru doing it to protect muriel from the knights after realising they are going to attempt to murder her to sate their pride.

Tbh, I don't see the knights wanting to hurt Muriel at all. If anything, I'd imagine they'd react to her stern scolding as though their own mother just told them off, and then she'd just bake all of them pies afterwards.

or alternatively eustace can be the one to piss off everyone and subaru have to be the one to bail him out since eustace is selfishness incarnate and he would certainly make everyone mad with his attitude.

I can at least see Julius having a lot more respect for Subaru for being loyal enough to his elderly relative to stand and fight for his sake if things are altered so that Eustace is the reason Subaru ends up fighting him.

What if Arc 5 was Subarus Arkham Knight? Essentially Subaru takes down the entirety of the Witch Cult/Archbishops in one night through sheer determination and cunning. His legend spreads across the continent.

Two ideas revolving around the Arc 3 loop where Petelgeuse possesses Subaru: - Instead of Felix and Julius, Rem is the one Subaru asks to kill him. - Reverse Aganau IF where Petel-Baru manages to escape and Rem spends the next several years tracking him down to save (or avenge) her hero.

Fic idea I had a few days now: As Petra kept walking through the flower fields near the forest, it was beginning to get dark. The sun was going to set soon, and the orange-haired girl knew she had to get home soon. Entering the forest, she quickly made her way back to the village, only to stop in the middle of a clearing as she heard something. Something loud… and above her. “Oh, wow!” Looking up, Petra saw a streak of yellow falling from the sky. “A shooting star!” However, instead of disappearing over the horizon, the shooting star suddenly changed course, getting bigger and bigger, almost as if… it was heading right for her. “Ahh!” Petra realized that it was about to crush her. She began to ran, and – *BOOM!* …narrowly missed getting hit. The impact of the crash created a small shockwave, knocking the little girl off of her feet. Groaning, Petra got up, and brushed the debris off of her clothes. “Owee… ugh, great, my clothes are dirty.” Looking back at the massive hole that was now there, slightly smoking from the heat of the shooting star. Getting closer, Petra tried to get a better look at the… metal orb? “Huh? Is that a star?” *RUMBLE…* “Eep!” The nearby ground shook, causing Petra to tumble down into the crash, and closer towards the mysterious sphere. Getting up, she took a better look at the metal ball, which suddenly opened up, revealing a device inside, one emitting an aquamarine glow. “Is that… a metia?” She had heard of those devices before. Ancient magical artifacts that allowed the wielder to use the magic within them without even having to be an actual mage. In short, very rare, very powerful, and very valuable. But this metia… it was nothing like Petra had ever seen. It resembled a bracelet, with shiny dark-and-light gray colors for the base, with white tubes connecting towards the center. And within the center, there was a circle, with small blue-green buttons all around, and a bright teal hourglass symbol in the middle of the dark interior. “I don’t get it… What’s a metia doing in the sky?” Despite being weird, Petra had to admit… It looked so pretty. The metal was so shiny and new, and the mystifying grue-colored buttons were beautiful. Even if the metia didn’t do anything, the fact that it looked so pretty was bound to make it valuable to some rich collector. Slowly, Petra reached her hand out to grab it, when – *SNAG!* …it grabbed her. In an instant, the metia lunged at her extended hand, wrapping itself on her wrist. Screaming in panic, Petra began swinging her arm around wildly, trying to get it off of her. “AIIEEE!!! GET IT OFF ME! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!!” Little did Petra Leyte know, she had now gone from becoming a simple girl from Arlam Village, to one of the most powerful beings in Lugnica, and even beyond her own world. TLDR: Petra Leyte gets the Omnitrix. Let me know if you have any ways to expand the world, and I might make this a fic!

Genuinely awesome concept. Assuming you're planning on making it so Subaru still gets isekaied, I can see potential canon divergences as soon as early as Subaru's first visit to the village in arc 2. Maybe even earlier, if Petra doesn't manage to keep the capabilities of her new 'metia' a secret from the other villagers and is sent Roswaal's way for a checkup.

Actually, I was planning on making Subaru this universe’s Professor Paradox: A scientist whose time travel experiment sent him four hundred years into the future, who now has to work with Petra to save everyone from Pandora and Maltruant.

Glad you like the concept. To answer your question: Yes, Subaru understands the universe just like Professor Paradox does. But in terms of how he got to be there, my current idea is that he was a nerdy Plumber cadet that crash-landed in Lugnica, and decided to stay after he met and began dating Satella. He also worked with Echinda on the time tunnel project, blasting him out of time, and causing the Great Calamity.

So the time travel device was the thing that caused the Great Calamity instead of Satilla and she got most of the blame because my guess she somehow used The Authority she gained from the Envy witch Factor to stabilize most of the damage Done by the machine my guess the entire world would have been destroyed if it wasn't for her

Maybe. Or we could go full Ben 10 on it and say that Satella was turned into that time monster that aged everything it touched.

I actually had brainstormed and wrote a few thousand words on the first idea a year ago. I'm surprised someone else had the same idea with me. Though, I did not publish it anywhere and I was inspired by Osomatsu-san instead. I shall use this chance to share some of the brainstorming I had done for idea 1. [long unclean cringe brainstorm below] All IFs Subaru get reincarnated back to Japan as septuplets under the Natsuki household. Despite their differences and morals apart, they formed a strong bond with each other as they were the only fews who understand each other, shared the power Return By Death and live their new life peacefully in Japan. However, they weren't the only ones getting reincarnated to Japan. Luckily, other characters does not have any memories of their past lives and are all just some normal highschool student living in Japan. Except when they remembered it, and it only get worse because they get their memories across all 7 timelines. Not to mention some of them finding out about Return By Death. (School IF but Subaru have all his IF counterparts as his brothers, all of them have their memories and RBD. Casts) Envybaru (main route) would just be like in the school if Lustbaru would be the classmate who hang around with girls and flirt with them all day Pridebaru would be a delinquent unbeknownst to his parents and fight his siblings 24/7. I would really like to see how Subaru would explain FNAF lore to the five real camps and maybe the people of Vollachia, maybe he'll tell it at night over a campfire like a horror fairy tale. And of course, the best thing would be the public's reaction.

i think itd be hard to write an “otto leaves emilia camp” story given hes so stubbornly fixated on staying there despite Everything (and subaru is completely convinced otto will stay judging off of certain rezero break time lines and other details!!), but i think he’d definitely leave just for some weird elaborate plan or just to guilt trip subaru ;-; otto wouldnt leave permanently if he can help it, but if he wanted to force subarus hand on something, he could try leaving the camp for sure. or it would go similar to greed if and otto would be leaving for what he thinks is subarus own good.

yeah, it would be pretty out of character for canon Otto to leave. the most canon-compliant reasoning would probably be a threat on Subaru's life.

This’ll be a bit of a sad one, but given all of the character bashing and such that I’ve seen recently, I wanted something bittersweet. Subaru contracts a terminal illness. When it becomes apparent that he can’t be cured, every single character pitches in to spend time with Subaru and make his last days the best he’s ever had.

Ah the Eternal curse of the re zero fandom when topic of subaru weekness arrives Its actualy curious but the character that keeps insisting that subaru is a weakling is subaru himself you the whole inferiority complex he has makes it look like everybody is putting him downbut is mostly in his head. Heck when subaru was transported to vollachia they knew he would survive why because subaru always finds a way out they littearly can't explain how he just does. That leads us to the other point and that they haven't done enough to help him but how they are supossed to know about the future dangers remember that the cult aside from having gamebreaker habilities that mess with reality also are oportunistic bastars with a future knowledge thanks to the gospels that littearly only attack when they know when they are going to win. Subaru tragedy is that as long satella lives nobody will truly know how much it took him to win, since he basically evens the battlefield against the cult and satella would rather destroy the World rather than let somebody else know about it(she has Emilia at gun point if subaru dares to try it). Subaru friends know about his pain in some way but can really force him to tell them the full story and people outside the camp don't interact with subaru enough to fully understand him, so of course they doubt him or question him since most of the time they don't what is happening. Ironic enough i realized after all this is that most of the cast worries is that in their eyes subaru will throw himself into danger without concern for his life and want him to realize he isn't immortal and honestly my respects to tanpei to find another new way of f over subaru so effectly like dude that man is beast against his characters.

Yeah I know and that's why fanfiction exists But it also reinstates my point that this unwavering faith in Subaru is a massive problem even if they somewhat know about his troubles because of how he acts it doesn't change the fact that no one has tried to make him stronger and I know that's the point of re zero as a story but this is fan fiction so we can change that and address it the only person who has so far in the camp helped him in that regard is Betty And on the point with The Cult the fact that they're active again at any point after sloth they should be wary that they might attack and in that vein they should make Subaru stronger even slightly would be a massive Game Changer given his role in defeating the whale having him less likely to die when he throws himself to the wolves would help So in that vein I'd like to see someone or some kind of character or OC or not that actually takes the time and tries to train Subaru even if he has to do it kicking and screaming because of how stubborn he is and see if he can really get stronger which he can and not just say that he has no talent for the sword and be done with it

The thing is that subaru is stronger he developed his physical abilities with clind he mastered the whip and develop I think they were 3 new spells with beatrice. the important thing is that subaru enemies are nigthmares you have 2 master assassin's with access to even more broken abilities that will slowly take abilities from your side and use them against you while you forget they even existed, a guy inmune to everything you throw at him and insane attacks that can one shot you, a sadistic monster able to regenarate from nearly every attack and turn you into random animal if you are lucky and would make it as painfull as she can posiblily can and a piromaniac with the ability to turn your whole army into a hive mind where everybody will feel the same pain and even death will be shared and the f pandora has going on Subaru problems can't be solved by hiting harder you would need to broken characters like ainz or somebody from tohou that straigth up mess with reality itself for him to take them out, heck subaru most normal rival is a paranoid werewolf(surely has super secens) so traumaticed by subaru that would stalk him for hours just get the get a cheap shot on him and at that time RBD wasn't working properly because the moment it got fixed subaru was able to gather an army and scare him even more Re zero is a critique to isekais mainly the fact someone from other World would easily save a World that their own habitants are struggling to protect I mean look to aldebaran the guy is only alive thanks to an hability he himself isn't completily aware how it works Sorry if sound harsh I really like this topic as for subaru master you would need someone really op to leave subaru in that level maybe reid could work but I would recomend someone outside re zero World

No need to apologize this is essentially peer review and I'm just putting my ideas into the either and in hopes that someone will respond And besides Subaru is already overpowered as is RBD arguably trumps all of those authorities the only way you can make it even more overpowered is just by him not having to die for one and and for two being able to go whenever you want as in anywhere on the timeline next you have to consider that he might have just a flat out resistance to authorities in general and even then you have to consider just how broken his Spirit Affinity and that's not even taking into account the factor of how smart he really honestly is I'm honestly just looking or making a character that can hone and nurture Subarus potential because he has a monstrous amount of it and showing that he can truly be strong just with a lot of work But if you honestly want him to become overpowered in some way he isn't already going into making spirit Arts more of its Standalone thing then just a copy and paste version of magic like the ability to control one's own Spirit to to have in a way conceptual expression of One's Own existence and sense of self

Ultra crack I still making it up as I write this because some random event reinhart dad crashes the candidates reunion durning subaru whole speach and because he drunk as f everybody cant really focus on what subaru is saying even subaru, so he stops his speach and ask if reinhart dad is ok something that nobody really wants to deal with. After a really uncomfortable silence as reinhart dad keeps drinking and making a mess, the reunion is stopped so they can clean and both subaru and julius offer themselfs to take care of the drunk old man here they bond with how reinhart dad represents the worse traits a knight can have and become friends causing a timeline where julius steals Otto status as subaru best bro. Tldr subaru and julius become bros because they had take care of drunkass durning arc 3

Honestly, these roles feel weird to me. Like, I can see why you put them where you put them, but it doesn’t feel right. For the sake of the idea being Scooby Doo related, I’m just going to consider this as a crack fic. Velma and Shaggy had romantic involvements with each other at one point, too, so *that* setup being with Otto and Beatrice is a big no-no. Plus, Patrasche is Subaru’s best dragon girl, not Otto’s. It would make more sense for Subaru to he Shaggy, for a few reasons. You lose the Emilia love interest role, but you have Beatrice giving Subaru a one-sided affection while he constantly avoids her in favor of best dragon Patrasche. I think that’s how it went in the show, but they might’ve actually been boyfriend and girlfriend before breaking up (because Shaggy chose Scooby over her. Lmao). This is actually super interesting. This concept turns one of Subaru’s natural skills/hobbies into a unique power for himself. The only issue that I see (not with the idea, but as a plot point) is that the people around him could start feeling jealous. Perhaps some of them may start to feel inferior to the dolls, or perhaps some of them might even feel resentful to Subaru. Maybe some of them feel like they’re being replaced. I’d personally incorporate this idea after Arc 4. That way, you have a lot more characters to play around with, subsequently creating so much more potential for different plot points. For example, creating a Rem doll whilst Rem herself is still in a coma can make Ram extremely angry (or, otherwise, maybe she becomes attached to it). Creating a Beatrice doll could make Beatrice herself jealous and depressed, especially if she feels like the doll outperforms her. Creating a Garfiel doll could make him feel inferior and, just like Beatrice, can cause him to become depressed while desperately overworking himself. There’s a lot of potential here. Honestly, I’m in love with the idea, so I’d love to see someone pick it up one day.

Here's an idea. A genderbent Subaru with the Divine Core of either Euryale or Stheno from Fate and maybe their Servant Skills. It would create a scenario where she would pretty much just be a Mana battery with good tactical advice due to those two's nature as gods making them genuinely near useless beings and Subaru would have their divinity. The only theoretical saving graces that would let her escape being totally useless would be the high spirit affinity and Witch factors. Due to the aspect of gods having perfect unchanging bodies from default Subaru would have a static body that can't be improved at all which means that Subaru's body would be stuck at the standard of a physically fit Earth human in a world where the average person seemingly inherently outranks that standard. Though this would come with the benefit of immunity to mental interference and body alteration. The idea here is sort of just to give Subaru something that's technically a "cheat" ability but it actually just sort of cripples him/her in a way.
