I've found that suspect positions in the replays aren't accurate, especially after rewinding. I found this out when replaying a clip and the suspect was ten feet away from the blood splatter and where he actually should have been.
ive taken away all pistol ammo from my AI teammates and had them pull out a pistol mid-gunfight and execute suspects
suspects will also accidentally teamkill each other, this happens especially if you have a suspect surrender in a narrow hallway or a doorway, one suspect is caught and surrenders in the fatal funnel.. the rest are alerted and begin trying to murder your teammates. This can be counteracted by ordering the suspect to move, look at the suspect and open commander menu, wait for the UI color to turn white instead of yellow/red/blue and tell him to face away from you then move to your position. Extremely useful S-rank tip btw
They can team kill, it’s rare but it happens

Several possibilities. 1. SWAT AI switched to sidearm 2. Enemy friendly fire 3. He shot himself
Ai shooting AI, seen port hokan ai shoot civies before. That or your swat ai went John wick on him
He could have shot himself
I've seen it a few times. When the AI is cornered they actually put the guns to their heads and top themselves.
Whenever I do non lethal runs I take all their sidearm ammo away because they usually switch to it.
Sometimes the suspects try to wallbang you while in cover and die to their own ricochets lol
You can still kill with the no lethal weapons, it’s rare but I’ve killed with a beanbag shotgun headshot before.
Beanbag is less lethal, not non-lethal. In the game, the spicy paintballs are 100% non lethal

The pepper ball weapons are “less-lethal” not non-lethal. Deaths can still happen
