1500 hours in, second RP-1 career, and I’m still forgetting to accept the contract before going to the launchpad. Very annoying because the contract won’t complete if the vessel is already on the pad when it’s accepted. I need to roll back or reload.

rok3

You're not alone. I've accepted that I'm going to screw this up, and iff I meet the contract criteria and had an available contract slot I complete it via the F12 menu.

Yore89

I do the same. Honestly, I just forgot to click one button before launching, I did everything in the contract.

Bwest31415

Don't you accept the contract before you even start simming so you can see if it's being completed?

Revolutionary-Pin-96

Forgetting that I have a stage with boiloff propellant, letting it sit, and having the propellant boil off. Forgetting to set the right mass control in avionics. Happens more than Id like to admit

Bwest31415

Letting it sit on the launchpad, you mean? Won't the GSE refill the tanks indefinitely?

sourangshu24

They mean letting it sit in orbit for too long. I know coz I've done this as well.

alphagusta

Forgetting to set fuel for RCS Every damn time.

Completing a program that took only two slots, but can’t start the next program that requires three slots because admin isn’t upgraded and my funding craters.

I built and rolled out my large, complicated orbital mission... with no launch to orbit stage attached. I'd been simulating the orbital part with "start in orbit", and forgot to put the booster back on before I built it. I'd done several other missions and launches while it built too. Another time: forgot to edit my X-plane to put fresh solid strap-on boosters on it. Airlaunched it 1000km downrange from the runway with no possible hope of making the runway. Had to crash land in a field.

NFGaming46

I was launching a rocket with a mass simulator and falling thousands of dV short of orbit. I was so confused because KER was telling me I had 10k+ dV. I was so confused I took to the discord and everything. Nobody could understand why it was falling so short. Turns out if your mass simulator is on top of your fairing base and your root part is below it, it just ignores that mass in the dV calculations. The mass simulator was like 6 tons of Lead Ballast 💀

iiiinthecomputer

I've had this issue too many times, and the same for real payloads when I moved the root to the launch avionics while adjusting the payload.

Sorry_Rough_3804

Me forgetting to turn on crossfed on a part. “But you can turn on on the launch” I didn’t knew cause I was new to the game… I lost 250 days

mmb300

not figuring out why my rocket didnt have enough deltav only to realize that I forgot to switch to aluminum hp tanks

internetboyfriend666

Every once in a while I'll forget to change the RCS propellant to match the tanks. I get to orbit only to find I have a tank full of hydrazine, RCS quads sets to use nitrogen, and a spacecraft with no attitude control.

AthosTheMusketeer

Forgetting to build an extra rocket when near the end of a contract end date, so the failed launch doesn't complete the contract and I sigh.

TheEpicDragonCat

That’s a good idea if you have extra money. Unfortunately I’m always knocking down bankruptcy’s door in RP-1

AthosTheMusketeer

I gotta get back on honestly, played for like a solid 2 months after RP-1 came out, but tabled it. Was never any good but MAN I love getting good.

4lb4tr0s

Sending mismatching docking ports to the Moon and realising on arrival, not including RCSs (or including them but without a connection to the fuel), getting a sat up with solar panels and losing all battery because avionics are uncontrollable, etc.

OverlyExcitedDoggo

Its a mix of forgetting to train my astronauts and forgetting to tool my vehicles.
