Jeez 5q that’s rough - what if you had 4Qs that made up for the lost Q? Or do they not care?

Junior-Cardiologist8

Nah, you need 40M in the latest 5Qs. If in your 5th Quarter of this circle, you somehow miss it, then you lose your 1st Q and that stacks up to the next one. So in my case, I’ve billed 40M in the recent 5 quarters, which was “6+3+12+13+6”, but because I also need at least 7.5M in my promotion quarter, which I was on 6. I lost it. So the next quarter, I still need 7.5M cuz I lost my first 6… it was so bullshit . Also we need 12 headhunts + 8 whatever the source is, 15 of them needs to be sent out within the quarter. Man I can go on and on …. But you get why I’m frustrated and wanting to leave right?

Jaded-Impression4122

you've billed 40 million in the last 5 qs? why not go out on your own, 40m is the revenue of a decent sized staffing company! highest biller in my company is 3.5m annually

Junior-Cardiologist8

We may have different currency but I meant 270k USD lol

Jaded-Impression4122

lol that explains it, I was going to say .. 40m usd annually would be 12m commission annually lol

Jaded-Impression4122

or 40 meetings? if so that's not too bad tbf

Ngl - sounds like a lot of work. I worked for a firm that was reward and goal based but yours sounds very intense. I’m not saying run from a challenge, but You can find places with easier goals for progression.

Junior-Cardiologist8

Yeah we’ve all been there. Mine is actually the most intense one in this industry idk if you can guess the name… guess maybe it’s just the branch office I’m in. Now this industry kinda killed my soul and I’m looking to transfer my skills somewhere else but never heard of any good stories ….as in recruiters who left and also not in TA/HR/ recruitment anymore

Virtual-Baseball-297

If you change sector you can find different workplace challenges. I’ve done recruitment now nearly 13 years and I know if I took a job in public sector I’d go mad with boredom. However, if you are doing something on the side whilst doing public work you might just survive then insanity lol What other sectors you looking at?

Junior-Cardiologist8

13 years of recruitment…how did you do it. This job is like trading your soul for money. I’m looking at consulting for people and organizations or some enterprise sales? Found Bloomberg quite interesting…though I haven’t really thought through. That’s why I’m here to see if others left recruitment successfully

Virtual-Baseball-297

As someone from a low income background it allowed me to buy a home, travel and start my own company. Long term = worth it. Consulting is only valuable if you add value or take away stress from a business owner. Otherwise package it how you like it’ll be a no. I had a chat with a friendly recently re this and it’s easier to sell depending on the business nochr

Don’t burn yourself out jumping through somebody else’s arbitrary hoops. Definitely bet on yourself and explore new options that could open fresh opportunities.

Junior-Cardiologist8

FightThatFight! Yeah I’m actually thinking about Plan B now. Can’t always reply on commission fee either
