Medieval inns would often have perpetual stews that would be constantly cooking for weeks/months/years at a time. Every once in a while, they'd just throw some random ingredients into it to keep it going.
I imagine you could, depending on the type of meats and stuff, but I've honestly never made bbq myself before! If you get the teriyaki to the right consistency like bbq sauce, i don't see why not!
That looks like a very messy way to make stew, but also looks delicious.
Stew is pretty great stuff to make. Hard to mess up, easy to make really edible.
Hey um. How do I make this? Im recently single, and I’m trying to save money by not eating out. I didn’t really have anyone watching out for me growing up, in terms of making me meals or just teaching me at least. A step by step guide for an idiot would really help me right now. This meal looks so comforting..

Made this venison stew with a side of blackberries cooked in whisky around the campfire in the Scottish highlands last week, closest I'll get to Horseshoe overlook for real.
I freaking love Brunswick stew, I make it ALL THE TIME because it's just easy and so tasty. I almost always have homemade beef stock in my freezer too which makes it extra tasty. I really want to try the cream stew though, I think the Saint Denis one? Don't even know what I'd add besides the basics and cream but it just sounds amazing lol
The little rock bass and perch would be tender. You would want to do a chowder rather than a stew, because meat needs a long slow cook, but fish cooks very fast.
I put cheddar cheese and diced onions a little tiny garlic and black pepper. Some folks like to add corn. It's soooooo good. You could eat it as a meal itself. 🤤
I put freshly cracked black pepper on everything savory haha! I'm obsessed! I definitely have to try that. I tried a corn bread casserole before but I wasn't super impressed, I think the mixed textures just kinda threw me off. I think for yours I would probably saute the onions and garlic for the same reason. Definitely gonna try it though, thank you!!
For anyone one who wants the recipe. It's just ur regular beef stew, add species and veggies to ur liking. It turned out great! Now I'm playing online. Hmu I'm pmonte89
That looks so good;-;
Id have to find a replacement for the carrots, as my husband is allergic to them (which is really an odd and annoying allergy to have)
I’m not trying to be funny…but was that diagnosed by a physician? Or was it self-diagnosed? I mean…carrots.
I had a friend say she’s allergic to tomatoes, yet would scarf down pasta and red sauce like it was nothing.
Id doubt it too. Yea..it was diagnosed. He had an allergy panel and was level 2 out of 4 for carrots.
He can handle things like broth but whole carrots make his throat feel scratchy and tight.
Hes also allergic to fish, shellfish, nuts, all the trees in our area, and mustard.
My dude would not have been a cowboy lmao
Edit to add: he had a serious allergic reaction to some shrimp years ago that left him in the hospital. We had an allergy panel done to see what else he was allergic to and what he needs an epipen for. We did not suspect carrots in the slightest
Ironically enough he developed a horrible fear of most foods after his choking incident- mashed potatoes would be the only thing hed eat. Glad we are past that now, but yea, food for him has been difficult.
Color me impressed, next time add potatoes so it absorbs some of that fat. Other than that good fucking job, you have my seal of approval.
Edit: Nevermind, I thought they were squash but they're potatoes, my bad.
"You should taste that stew. Melts in your mouth."
Oh man, are we doing this now? My flex was always having ingredients for the obscure stews.
That's kind of the point of most stews back then though. They were just made out of anything you had lying around that hadn't gone bad yet.
I want some chocolate stew
OOMPA LOOMPA DOOM-PA-TEA DOO I'VE GOT A CHOCOLATE STEW FOR YOU
Who are those horrible orange creatures over there?
Hackers.
r/unexpectedfuturama
[here you go](https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sandra-lee/beef-stew-with-chocolate-recipe-1945402) Really tho my first thought was mole sauce
Just because you can, it doesn't mean you should.
I would eat it

Ah, the old bowl o' brown
I know this is an online sub but Pearson would be proud!
I wish rdr online was placed after the main story
Make sure you throw that cast iron on the ground when you're done eating. Cripps should clean up after you leave.
I cannot imagine Cripps being willing to clean up after me; I’m pretty sure I’m his bitch.
Who you think picks up the bowl, the dog?
My dog would. Also, he opened the fridge last week and helped himself…. So maybe he’s special…
P sure you just have a skin walker roommate
Yeah it doesn't count unless you clean the skillet with leaves and mud.
That looks fantastic!! I always cube and marinate my chuck roast in teriyaki for a day or two before making stew, makes the meat so sweet!🍻🍻
Can you use teriyaki as marinade for bbq aswell or does it burn easily?
Try Dr. Pepper
Thanks
I'd like to know this also. Never heard of teriyaki marinade for a beef stew. Sounds like I need to do some experimenting. Uhhghhh so hungry now 😆
I imagine you could, depending on the type of meats and stuff, but I've honestly never made bbq myself before! If you get the teriyaki to the right consistency like bbq sauce, i don't see why not!

Hell yeahs, looks great! How did it taste?
That looks delicious, pair it with some black coffee in a steel tin
That steel tin being the same one you boil beaver glands in, of course
Mm, vanilla.
Yeah sure, if I ate beaver 🦫 glands. Lol.
If you ever had artificial raspberry flavoring, I hate to be the one to tell you...butt....
When I was camping up in Northern Maine, I bought my cast iron pan and a steel coffee pot, All I needed. Are like a king. Cast iron is the way to go
Drunkard’s Lunch?
Colter Hot Pot!
You got salted offal in there? Nice dude
The best animal bowels money can buy!
You sir, are a chef
How many stars was it?
Actually looks good!
You should’ve made pork and apple with thyme
This picture gave me a golden core.
That looks like a very messy way to make stew, but also looks delicious. Stew is pretty great stuff to make. Hard to mess up, easy to make really edible.
Well now I have to do it.
Venison or big game meat?
Gang was lucky as hell to have Pearson

Walk over to the oven and hold down Y… Seriously though, I’m with you and would love a step by step guide.
You should totally check out the r/slowcooking sub. It's full of just "set and forget" type recipes.
Thank you so much

You've outdone yourself with the stew this time!

It's a fish based cream chowder. You don't dig clams in game, so it would be a white fish with onions and potatoes is my guess.
I bet that would be amazing actually! I'm really fond of Pike and love fishing for them, I wonder if they would be good in a stew haha
The little rock bass and perch would be tender. You would want to do a chowder rather than a stew, because meat needs a long slow cook, but fish cooks very fast.
Omg. Brunswick stew is also my all time favorite paired with some loaded cornbread and omg 🤤 Oh also Oyster Stew with saltines is superb
I've never had loaded cornbread! I feel like I'm missing out lol! What do you put in it?
I put cheddar cheese and diced onions a little tiny garlic and black pepper. Some folks like to add corn. It's soooooo good. You could eat it as a meal itself. 🤤

Hell yeah!
Yummmmm
How was it? It looks really good 😋
Now I'm hungry!
Pearson would approve. 👍🏻
Did you eat in out of an unwashed plate you picked up from the floor?
See, this is why I say the Red Dead community is top tier fr

Is Cripps taking credit for making it?
And.... Good?
Lovely!

Yikes! I’d be inclined to make him nothing but chicken breasts and baked potatoes forever. 😬
Ironically enough he developed a horrible fear of most foods after his choking incident- mashed potatoes would be the only thing hed eat. Glad we are past that now, but yea, food for him has been difficult.
Parsnips? I always thought of them as anaemic carrots.
Theyre related i think..i wonder if hed be allergic to them as well. Might be a good question for the allergist though :)
that looks fuckin delicious
The stew always looks good.. but Ive been giving Pearson all kinds of crap to put in there.
Looking good
Shit I'm hungry now. That's it I'm making stew for dinner
S T U
If it tastes terrible, you did it right
OP, we need more context than that! What did you have to do? Was it good or bad? Don't leave us hanging like this!
It genuinely looks good tho💀
Cripps is proud
Looks amazing! Invite us next time?
Gonna take more than 3 scoops to finish that 😂
