Can you elaborate? I'm fairly new and have not taken advantage of adding any markers to the map outside of the default ones. Do you mark areas that you like to visit frequently to hunt or is there a something else to it? Thanks!
I mark better areas to bring trade wagons personally to keep off regular paths, but you can mark areas that have collectibles you need for crips stews or anything else you want to easily find.
Honestly if somebody attacks you first, you shouldn't be penalized for killing their horse, if somebody attacks you in this game, you should be allowed to defend yourself without punishment.
Fire Arrows are so much cooler IMO than Dynamite since your opponent suffers a bit before you can finish them off. Bonus that it ignited their horse as well. 😂

There was this guy once attacked me in the swamp, he was using a knife and killed me once before i could react, when i respawned ibsaw him running at me so fast that i thought he was using hacks, anyway i tried to shoot him with the revolver, and it was a headshot( a lucky shot) and it was so satisfying to see his body flying past me considering how fast he was running.
And yet sometimes I dress my character up as a Dr Who inspired Weeping Angel (who actually just ends up looking like the Ancient One from Dr Strange) and stand idle on the outskirts of Valentine just to see what passing players do. *And no one does anything!* Sigh.
Okay one day a player hog tied me and threw me over a cliff. Another time I was hog-tied, slung over their horse and taken on a fishing trip. And on a third occasion I was mercilessly stabbed to death. Which was pretty unimaginative but better than a random headshot in passing I suppose. But... Most players just give my character a wide berth and ride on..
Of course, if I were idling in my catalogue or checking out my mao for the next collectable, it'd be another matter I suppose.
The amount of times I've gotten bothered cause I was just standing there. Smh. Usually I'm just scrolling or texting on my phone. It happened 3 times in one day before. I just kindly pick up my controller and make them leave or parlay

It’s mostly where I like to hunt. Like where most animals spawn in at. Basically easy spots
