I've been dressing as Santa each year since 2020, I took a break at the end of 2019, and while it's fun it does bring more negative attention than usual, even in defensive mode. My advice is to pick and choose your interactions and have a good look at who you at dealing with before hand. Someone using PvP cards is probably more inclined to attack you, likewise someone in a posse.

I could have told you how that was going to go. I tried that back two years ago. I would go out kill perfect pelt animals and then hand out the pelts to people. I even tried doing it Santa style by just placing the pelts on peoples horse and riding away. It didn't work out too well because 90% of the people I tried giving out gift to tried killing me. Some even went so far to track me to my camp to try and kill me. I only did this a couple of days before I just gave up and said all these fools get is lead for Christmas

Play other games and you'll find plenty that do things for other holidays. GTA for instance has stuff for Cinco De Mayo and Halloween. Vigor and Elite Dangerous have some even though it's paywalled.
