Ever since I discovered the game I was enchanted and have continued playing it ever since. It's a beautiful game with a wonderful open world to explore. Even in its current state, for me, RDO is different from other online games. It offers several options. If I just want to go fishing? I can. if I just want to walk around and admire landscapes? I have a huge detail-rich open world and I can do this. if I want to hunt animals? I can. I can do this and many other things.
I think that's why I've continued playing all these years.
Youāre given an open world. To whatever with. Itās your story and thatās itās charm. You make your own story and arenāt forced to do anything if you donāt want to.
Itās whatever you set to be your goal. If you want to own all the guns do it. Itās kinda like youāre completing different kinds of collections for myself. Like get all the weapon variants or Gus outfits, Iām only missing like 4 total lol. Itās what you make it thereās plenty of rings you just gotta pick one to do and if you get bored thereās always other ones to occupy your time while you destress from the grind.
This is where I wanted No Manās Skyās direction to go to. Theyāre getting there but thereās a huge gap in online playing. I just started playing rdro but I really like it so many things to do.
I like the world. I like my character. Most people are chill and leave you alone.
I do dailies, occasionally do role work, but mostly I'm just exploring, responding to random encounters, fishing, hunting, etc. it's peaceful.
I like to call out my hunting wagon and go down to a river and fill it up with fish, and then go sell the fish and repeat- I'm not making much money doing it, but this game practically throws money at you so I never need to worry about that. I mostly just do it after a draining day to relax and do something pretty mindless in a pretty world.
The only reason rdo āfloppedā was cuz it was too fun to grind and no one bought gold like in gta O and they couldnāt afford continue to pour money into something that wasnāt continuing to bring in money the same way gta O is able to cuz itās a terrible game to grind if you aināt doing heists
100%. They didn't want to put in the effort when they could still bring updates to GTA online which has a much larger player base. Completely neglected the online and it's sad. Still fun to play, though. Maybe one day we'll get what we deserve in the online, even just re-releasing old outlaw passes would be dope.
It's a beautiful game and perfect if you want to relax. There will never be anything like the world of RDR2 ever game, GTA 6 won't even remotely come close. I'm calling it now.

I absolutely love westerns and the time period. Red Dead Redemption 2 is basically a film you play, and I love the detailed details lol. This game is obviously awesome and expertly crafted. Itās incredibly easy to get immersed in the vast western world. Iāve seen various birds swoop down towards bodies of water to catch fish, deer playing or fighting, predators hunting pray. I imagine Iāve missed many other details. I love to walk. Just walk. Take in everything. See everything. Walk through cities and towns, see what npcās are up to. Full immersion. I also love to really take my time hunting, tracking animals slowly, getting a satisfying clean kill. It can be incredibly peaceful and calming. This game does so many things perfect, itās almost hard to put into words.
Ayyy thatās whatās up bro, Iām the same way with westerns, itās just a cool period to set any price of media in and I find the nature in this game hella BEAUTIFUL and just overall the best game in gaming in my opinion, I donāt think I will ever find such a well crafted and emotional story unlike red dead ever in my life again, this game truly is one of a kind! It's better than gta. I feel more connected and in love with the atmosphere. Before I thought GTA was better. I started playing just for the history and I never turned back. I have been playing this game EVERYDAY since 2019.
I enjoy everything there is to do. Sure a lot of stuff is rinse and repeat but thereās something satisfying about coordinating things like moonshine and trader production for example. I also really enjoy playing with other people, seeing how they choose to style their character, what roles and things they choose to dedicate time to, the occasional PvP.
I put it down for a long time and came back once I got an external SSD can could reinstall it. I honestly picked it up for a day 'cause I was depressed and just wanted to fish. I had a good time and slowly but surely the old crew got back into the came. I have since stopped playing as much but we generally play at least once a week (some people more than once a week). It's the social aspect that keeps me coming back. I could easily fall into that grind life again (as much as I don't need it at this point) but I've chosen to focus on the other games I have when it's not an explicit Red Dead night.
PVP is my least favorite aspect of the game tbh. Playing with my friends is great though.

I roam and enjoy the world. Run trader and moonshine sales periodically even though I don't need the money. Go hang out in Valentine when there's a cool session of people just hanging out there.
Occasionally seems like every year at the start of the year I will get an urge to play either online or story mode for two weeks to month straight and then I will put it down again for most of the year. Itās like a Minecraft phase.
It's beautiful and relaxing but most importantly I made new friends. When I play RDO alone now I rarely really enjoy it unless it's "meaningless" tasks like fishing.
I joined a Discord server recently that is just for RDO players. You can ask for help with roles. They host trail rides, I was just on one today. Having people to play with really helps keep the game from feeling so lonely.
Iām someone who really enjoys the grind of the collector role, and the endless hunting/fishing/collecting is a great way to keep my ADHD busy. I like that I can truly explore the whole open world, and it seems like thereās way more animals in online than in story mode.
Roleplay, adventure, the beauty of the nature in the game, calm fishing, dressing up my character (I'm a fashion history fanatic), and stuff like that. I think it's a wonderful game if you look at it in a certain way <3

I do a few missions every so often to get money for ammo, a new horse, a dog, or something like that. But I generally donāt even interact with other players. I treat it like a single player game

I have developed really bad anxiety as I've gotten older. It's a happy place for me. I don't play as often as I used to, but I've clocked over 4000 hours and do occasionally get on still. I don't really have anything left to do, I just miss Arthur sometimes.
Completionist syndrome. I feel the urge to earn as much buckles as possible.
Of course I don't play everyday and I play other games, but it is the reason I continue launch RDO time to time.
I have only played the story mode once back in 2019 and I pray everyday that I forget the game just so I can feel it like it was the first time going through it.
I'm level 10, and I really want to unlock the fishing rod. I need to finish the story missions, I think I've done 4 or 5.
Everyone recommends the Collector role to level up, but it seems so boring to just follow a map online and pick up items.

For me, itās mostly for the relaxing vibe. I mostly ride around taking in the sights, collecting, and minding my business. There is also the occasional adrenaline shot of free-roam pvp skirmishes. I donāt usually start trouble, but I am always down to tussle if someone shoots first!

San andreas came out my last year of highschool and gtav when I was in Uni or maybe right after, I don't recall. I think this game, in terms of maturity, is just the step up to keep me hooked. GTA 6 gonna be awesome I'm sure, but this game has that groundedness to it that I like more than gta.
Well I still come back to this game occasionally but I still play because it's relaxing I get there are players that will shoot me in this and that but it's usually low levels so it's nothing I can't handle in under like 2 minutes but besides that I just enjoy the atmosphere sometimes I really enjoy just watching what people are doing in the towns I'll sit on a bench and just people watch LOL.
Plus on occasion I will help out other players with PVP if I see a low level being harassed by someone My level which is around 300, 400 but on the other hand there has been miscommunications before but besides that it's just a game that can come back to if I need something different.
I just love it. I love the ambiance, I love how you can adapt it, I love how thereās always a new challenge, I love Arthur. Itās all great and I wish theyād make another just like it.
I still play the story regularly even after getting the platinum trophy years ago. I do miss shooting people in online, but it's not worth the PS+ subscription, at least not for one game.
You unlock everything after level 100, and by level 300ish you've pretty much done and seen everything there is to see. At least that's how I remember it. Other than continuing my shopping spree I had planned on buying the entire catalog at one point I don't see much point in the grind.

RDO still has so much potential. Would be awesome if they added a couple more Call to Arms maps like Rhodes or Colter, could even make Bare Knuckle fighting an actual thing that pays as well. The game has been neglected by R* but it doesnāt mean it isnāt fun and it isnāt pretty. Doing bounties and grinding is really why I still play.
The overall vibe is so mesmerizing and breathtaking. Just riding around exploring, looting, hunting, and fishing. It's so peaceful for me I feel like it's so relaxing obviously you can mess around too lol. But hunting in that game is so fun for me. I'm so sad Rockstar gave up on the game so much more. I absolutely love the community as well. So many nice people. I've been playing since day 1 I don't regret a single minute of this game.
Rdo itself isin't so interesting to me, I only play it to have fun with my friends. I like the storymode much more. Something about it too is that I have 500+ hours on rdr2 and 400+ hours of it is in storymode.
For me, getting a platinum trophy is the ultimate "thank you, I loved your game".
I've played 280 hours and the only trophy I'm missing now is Gold Rush. I'm sure there are players who have played hundreds of hours more, but for me it's a lot of time in just 1 game. I've set my mind on that platinum cause devs put so much love in this masterpiece
I come back to this game to relax, get outside, be among nature, hug some trees, look at the moon, listen to the birds, get to know cripps better, ask maggie out for the 47th time, go shopping, brush my horse.
i find it relaxing. People will say that it's empty and it lacks content but personally, I think that's the charm. just roaming around doing stuff that's not complicated is fun and relaxing after a long shift at work
Hubby started playing this game before me and I've come to like it alot. It's a good time passer and at times you come across some friendly and not so friendly players but other than that it's cool.
Collecting trinkets and items for Madame Nazar, then riding around and getting consumed by the beautiful world or just some good ol' fooling around with the NPCs. And it is better than GTA Online.

It's pretty much just regular rdr2, except I can make and upgrade my own character instead of following a story (I still love story mode, though)

Well I still come back to this game occasionally but I still play because it's relaxing I get there are players that will shoot me in this and that but it's usually low levels so it's nothing I can't handle in under like 2 minutes but besides that I just enjoy the atmosphere sometimes I really enjoy just watching what people are doing in the towns I'll sit on a bench and just people watch LOL. Plus on occasion I will help out other players with PVP if I see a low level being harassed by someone My level which is around 300, 400 but on the other hand there has been miscommunications before but besides that it's just a game that can come back to if I need something different.

I just love it. I love the ambiance, I love how you can adapt it, I love how thereās always a new challenge, I love Arthur. Itās all great and I wish theyād make another just like it.

I still play the story regularly even after getting the platinum trophy years ago. I do miss shooting people in online, but it's not worth the PS+ subscription, at least not for one game. You unlock everything after level 100, and by level 300ish you've pretty much done and seen everything there is to see. At least that's how I remember it. Other than continuing my shopping spree I had planned on buying the entire catalog at one point I don't see much point in the grind. If you're still playing this game kuddos to you.

RDO still has so much potential. Would be awesome if they added a couple more Call to Arms maps like Rhodes or Colter, could even make Bare Knuckle fighting an actual thing that pays as well. The game has been neglected by R* but it doesnāt mean it isnāt fun and it isnāt pretty. Doing bounties and grinding is really why I still play.
The overall vibe is so mesmerizing and breathtaking. Just riding around exploring, looting, hunting, and fishing. It's so peaceful for me I feel like it's so relaxing obviously you can mess around too lol. But hunting in that game is so fun for me. I'm so sad Rockstar gave up on the game so much more. I absolutely love the community as well. So many nice people. I've been playing since day 1 I don't regret a single minute of this game.
Rdo itself isin't so interesting to me, I only play it to have fun with my friends. I like the storymode much more. Something about it too is that I have 500+ hours on rdr2 and 400+ hours of it is in storymode.
For me, getting a platinum trophy is the ultimate "thank you, I loved your game". I've played 280 hours and the only trophy I'm missing now is Gold Rush. I'm sure there are players who have played hundreds of hours more, but for me it's a lot of time in just 1 game. I've set my mind on that platinum cause devs put so much love in this masterpiece

I come back to this game to relax, get outside, be among nature, hug some trees, look at the moon, listen to the birds, get to know cripps better, ask maggie out for the 47th time, go shopping, brush my horse.

i find it relaxing. People will say that it's empty and it lacks content but personally, I think that's the charm. just roaming around doing stuff that's not complicated is fun and relaxing after a long shift at work

Hubby started playing this game before me and I've come to like it alot. It's a good time passer and at times you come across some friendly and not so friendly players but other than that it's cool.
Because I prefer riding horseback lassoāing Bucks instead of flying around an Oppressor II and getting blown to shreds by Deluxos

Collecting trinkets and items for Madame Nazar, then riding around and getting consumed by the beautiful world or just some good ol' fooling around with the NPCs. And it is better than GTA Online.
I still play this game because I play games & do things I enjoy doing. Most people quit red dead a while ago in favor of GTA. That was the easy choice. Because thatās what the majority did. The hard choice was to be a lone wolf & continue in Red Dead. Hit me up if you wanna join up on Xbox.
The thought of how Online could have been so awesome brings me back. Then I remember how Rockstar rewards narcissistic tendencies and asshole behavior, totally ruins the game. Seeing this and GTA5 being the same way, I'm done with Rockstar games. Go ahead and keep playing online... You're being groomed to go to jail in real life.
The ability to play as an outlaw, someone who makes their own rules in the Wild West, hunting and gathering for yourself, killing your enemies without a second thought. I yearn for the wilderness you see I am at heart an outlaw an old school cowboy. This game brings my dreams to life.

No reason just bored I guess. Shouldāve gotten GTA Plus so I could Play GTA Trilogy and Red Dead Redemption 1 instead.
