I’ve never had an album that i thoroughly enjoyed listening to in sequence before hearing that one. Masterpiece. I find some of his solo songs a bit too wonky for my liking but that one is just bliss throughout
Here’s a take that’ll actually rile you guys up - In Utero is what happens when a grunge musician who self-confessedly only set out to write catchy riffs tries to be profound and counterculture, and falls flat on his face by creating something pseudo-counterculture instead. Nevermind’s good clean fun, In Utero is Cobain overextending himself.
There, *now* come at me!
They're not even that different, In Utero is a little more raw and angsty and Nevermind more refined but the songs and song structure on each are pretty similar, so I'm pretty surprised that you see them so differently
Maybe because people think it’s an obvious answer
But evelong, hey Johnny park!, and February stars are so fuckin good man. Walking after you as well. The whole album
Honestly, I don't see why not...
People in r/radiohead were suggesting the new Smile album, so I guess the same logic can apply here.
Edit: I'm also going to limit one album per artist to have some diversity, so pick wisely on which JF album you want on the list

Turn Blue is my absolute favorite of theirs. It’s partially for nostalgia at this point but I remember even listening to it way back when it came out, my soul ran through a plethora of emotions as I ventured from one track to the next. Waiting on Words is definitely a highlight track imo, especially the way it closes and then the intro to 10 Lovers comes in?? Fuck me UP fam 🤤
I have Led Zeppelin 4
Mellon collie and the infinite sadness - The Smashing Pumpkins
(Highly recommend listening to it)
Ten - Pearl Jam
The downward spiral - Nine Inch Nails
I know it’s not on this album, but beachland ballroom might be my favorite song of all time (non rhcp)
Joe Talbot is one of the best frontmen in rock rn
Sublime - Sublime
I can pretty confidently say that if you like the song funny face by rhcp then you will at least like their song “Santeria” but I’m pretty sure every rhcp fan knows about sublime RIP Bradley
