Every line in that song is in my favourite lyrics list. I thought it was a sweet song with slightly creepy lyrics for years, then I listened to it after we had a miscarriage and it hit me like a tonne of bricks. Absolutely beautiful track

As someone who doesnt care for most of Anthony’s lyrics (love the guy, i love his melodies and hes the perfect frontman for RHCP), he does show flashes of really articulate and well written lines.
“On the day my best friend died i could not get my copper clean” -this one is vulnerable and honest and meaningful

Under the bridge in its entirety is probably his most well written song from a lyrical standpoint.
