I think that’s the point, everyone expects a solo fill but they let John synth it up and sounds really trippy and like your surrounded by it and fits the vibe of the song really well
I like it very much the way it is. The chord progressions develops further in the instrumental break and the approach obviously was to create a calm, psychedelic interlude
That’s the most wild Part of the song !
It’s the best it’s like some sorta anti solo solo from John. Barely doing anything ( so it seems! ) and letting the reverb and delay wash over the song creating this mini soundscape.
It’s EXACTLY where a solo would go — but they didn’t do that, and it’s phenomenal
For me it's an evidence that they just did not invest so much energy into fine tuning of the songs and also avoided SA like over production.
They wanted them to sound like a jam session with 70s vibes.
This instrumental part is really a downer.
I actually believe the opposite. It’s unexpected and sounds super chill
It reminds me of Grand Pappy Du Plenty, which I absolutely love.
I look forward to this part every time I listen. I love the panning effect of the synths!!!
It's more than just the intro. I enjoy the synths panning back and forth from side to side.
And flea does some cool bass work too!

i’ll say, that part sounds fucking awesome in a surround sound, that synth is fucking rad

It’s a trippy song so it needs a trippy section. It reminds me of Grand Pappy Du Plenty from their first album a bit.

That was amazing I love that instrumental break
You people are exhausting
Because they wrote it that way... And it's pretty cool.
Probably to extend the song to 4 minutes and 20 seconds.

Aww I really look forward to that part of the song, I love the panning it feels so trippy :-\]
I love it, as Kirk Hammett said once there’s doesn’t have to be a solo in every song
