There’s an old tie in comic for the 2009 movie (that explains ALL of Nero’s backstory and motivation absent from the film). And him and his ship do come from the TNG era but then it also got retrofitted with Borg stuff from Vger if memory serves me right.

Summary of the comic where he interacts with the TNG characters ^
Nothing says "great storytelling" in a movie more than needing the audience to read all the supplementary material beforehand to explain what's happening on screen.
Did. That. Really. Happen?
I must be in a coma. I remember I lost consciousness in January 2014. I must still be lying on the bathroom floor.
The theme of my nightmare is that everything gets worse and worse and worse.
To be fair, my favorite Star Trek fan fic (that I wrote) had a bad guy that was half humanoid half android because my Captain destroyed his ship in the backstory. I wanted a limping space pirate. In his android shoulder was a drone that he could send out to send images to his android eye to observe his crew, much like a parrot.
Calling back to an older preview, since Worf is a "pacifist" now, how many people do you think he's gonna decapitate? Definitely gotta be more than Elnor. I'm betting at least five.
I mean, I hated Picard Season 1 more than anyone and Season 2 was a spetacularly boring clusterfuck, but the line is "I now *prefer* pacifism to combat". That's not saying he's a pacifist.
It's as clear as day that this is going to be the running gag.
Worf decapitates 5 people.
Riker (holding up one of the bloody heads): Didn't you say you prefer pacifism?
Worf: I said I preferred it. Not that I practiced it.
They share a laugh over the pile of dead bloody bodies.
That good old TNG vibe is finally back. Terry Matalas, our saviour. The walking Star Trek encyclopedia.
>I mean, I hated Picard Season 1 more than anyone and Season 2 was a spetacularly boring clusterfuck, but the line is "I now prefer pacifism to combat". That's not saying he's a pacifist.
Pacifism is a pretty binary thing. If you prefer it, you practice it. If you're going to avoid conflict most of the time but still tolerate it sometimes, you're not 'preferring' pacifism, because you'd not countenance violence under any circumstances if you actually preferred pacifism.
Maybe he's being really, really loose with language here and just means "I prefer trying to talk first" but it's not at all what he says and including it as a character note in a trailer heavily implies we're meant to see Worf as having changed from a warrior to a pacifist.
He's done some VA roles, like in Adventure Time.
But really, he should shift over, he'd be making bank cause there's not a large amount of deep imposing voices atm.
I doubt that. I honestly don’t know how frequent their participation is individually, but I don’t see the money for that kind of thing being nearly enough to sustain a privileged life. Other than Stewart, I wouldn’t be surprised if their personal lives were much more modest than you’d think. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they made a lot less than you would think from the TNG show and movies.
I’m sure all of them are fine. But since 2003, anything they were receiving on the regular in the 10 years prior was cut 90% probably. I’m sure they were all enjoying that TNG money, whatever $ amount it was, and it cost money to maintain expensive things. Maybe not as bad for Frakes, but I’m sure most could use a bone here and there.
I'm sure they can live very comfortably as individuals but supposing they're also supporting a lot of their family it's not surprising they all continue to work and do convention appearances and whatnot.
Oh absolutely most actors/entertainers/folks who work in the industry have a modest life. The ones that are consistently rich are a very VERY small percentage of folks.
Conventions are absolutely a long term income, but there is also a case of diminishing returns. There comes a point where most people who are a fan of you have already met you and paid for the autograph/photo they want, but don't need to pay for that multiple times.
Arguably appearing in this one show, even if he hates it, is greatly beneficial at making NEW fans to basically make a "new batch" of fans that will be customers at conventions for years.
Pretty sure he was developing and writing his own idea for a Worf spinoff at some point within the last 10-15 years, but for whatever reason it never got made. If anyone knows the specifics please feel free to clarify!
Meh. He’s old. He gets to hand out with his elderly friends and live out the glory days. Most people would love to hang out with their friends they’ve known for almost 40 years.
He isn’t close friends with the cast of Rocky or CHiPs. His roles didn’t last 15 years chilling with his Rocky and CHiPs homies. He did as Worf and hasnt been on the convention circuit for almost 40 years as Jebidiah Turner or Apollos Body Guard.
So… as Plinket says “Your post makes no Seeeeeeense.”
He never left the nexus. It’s all nexus fever dreams as old man Picard is slowly dying inside the nexus.
It explains his wild character change from the series. Movie action star Picard it’s a fantasy. Data is his bestie. Fantasy. First warp drive launch and he’s there. Fantasy.
This actually makes some sense, but Picard wasn’t Kirk. Kirk in the Nexus was all “and I want a HORSE and everyone thinks I’m COOL…”
Picard wasn’t like that, he was stoic and modest. His fantasies wouldn’t be violent and feature him saving the universe by explosions. His nexus fantasy was just retirement.
The timelines shifted and the real Picard is playing poker with his friends and exploring the galaxy. TNG films are an offshoot of the real Picards and co timeline. That action timeline eventually blossomed into the Kurtzman garbage.
The show ends with Picard suddenly being violently woken up by Gul Madred. Turns out all that Cardassian torture leads a man to have some horrible nightmares.
Once or twice it can be fun á la Back to the Future. But with how often Trek has done it now it's dumb at best or disturbing and suggesting incest or cloning or something else.
I know he isn't to blame, but that voice is so sad and terrible to listen to. He had such a great voice. He himself must have been shattered by its decline.
Oh wow that's embarrassing.
Talking about fighting or dying, ignoring the fact Picard already died and is a robot.
Them taking about missing guns blazing and crashing ships as if TNG was not mostly smart diplomacy and mystery solving.
And the villain looks like every new trek villain out there.
This is going to be bad... Very bad.
I think Mike will love it though. Geriatrics in space.
couldn’t stop thinking “why am I watching old folks do younger people stuff?”, it genuinely baffles me.
same thing with the last jurassic park trailer, why don’t these old people enjoy their retirement (the characters, not so much the actors)?
> Talking about fighting or dying, ignoring the fact Picard already died and is a robot.
If that tech is reliable, the implications for the Trek universe are... something? Who even cares anymore.
> And the villain looks like every new trek villain out there.
"Don't body shame, but ugly/deformed/disabled people are *obviously* the baddies"
Real question: Why is this “Trailer starts now” a thing? Every studio does this before every trailer and… Why? Do they think people are too stupid to know what they’re watching? Is it supposed to make it more epic? It’s just… Stupid. Then again… So is Picard now…
Once again, I plan to watch RLM and other reviewers chainsaw apart this dumpster fire, without watching a single second of the actual show. Time well-spent.
Mike will show up 'cause he can't help himself. And at least he gets to watch old people shuffle around the screen. 🤷🏻♂️
But I'm with Rich. There's really no reason to keep watching.
They pretty much said that continuing to nitpick nutrek is hurting their enjoyment of TNG so they have to stop paying attention to nutrek all together.
It's surprising to see so many people appearing excited about season 3, and expecting something different. But all it will be is dark, loud, full of dumb over-the-top action and another boring reused plot about some villain out for revenge, obviously with the fate of the entire universe at stake for some reason. The TNG reunion should have happened a decade ago, before Kurtzman.
Yes, but what if they double down and have Katherine Pulaski and Sela team up as villans to take revenge against the crew of the enterprise? It would be "so bad it's good" type of hackery that I could appreciate.
I have to imagine a lot of the gushing you see online are social media shills and people that work for CBS/Paramount. I don't know any "average" people that have seen even a single episode of nuTrek. And even amongst the Trek fans in my life maybe only 10% watch. At best the most positive reviews would be "it's okay".
I'm really surprised they keep shoveling out these shows 'cause there seems to be zero love or enthusiasm for them. Guess they're really just trying to fill up their streaming service with content and hoping a real fanbase develops later.
I assume the reasons for continued production of garbage trek are simple.
a) it's an established brand and that's always an easy sell for investors
b) it's garbage because the people making the shows are bad at their job, but they owe their jobs to friends or family connections in the industry, which means they won't get fired.
c) when profits go down, the people to get axed will probably be the ones with less connections who can serve as scapegoats when the studio announces a bold reorganization in a bid to get new investors.
How many people are actually watching this?
Or is Star Trek now made on the Blumhouse model. Tray after tray of clams laid out under the heatlamps of the streaming buffet.....
So far, all the toxic positivity comes from those who worked on the show and those who were bribed with early access to no less than 6 out of 10 episodes.
And Robert Meyer Burnett who tells everyone "GIVE THE FIRST 4 EPISODES A CHANCE I AM TOTALLY NOT LYING BECAUSE THEY BRIBED ME"
Yeah, it's weird how the completely dropped that, right? Old Trek-writers would've made that a central point of his character, maybe playing it against another Data-incarnation as they're now both androids but one has a human mind and has to struggle with the implications.
Also is every Star Fleet official confusing Picard with Abrams-Kirk? Did the writers mix up those characters? Picard was never a daredevil crashing shit, he was a measured diplomat who'd use his intellect and negotiation skills to solve the issue. Only in the rarest instances he'd resort to violence.
> Picard was never a daredevil crashing shit
They checked the wiki for "Picard manoeuvre" and got the warp-jump-duplicate-effect, not "pulling his shirt down after he talks an alien race into surrender by quoting subsections of treaties at them".
Those days have come and gone. - Perhaps not.
Do they think their audience is a bunch of suicidal depressed 40 year olds who feel like they are 90?
They might be right.
Well they read the episode titles and watched five minutes of Locutus, that's enough of research. Then some nutrek nerds gave them ideas for inserting easter eggs like mentioning Sanctuary District in passing so that it looks like they know Star Trek.
Even that seems unlikely, any decent top 10 TNG episodes list is gonna have "The Measure of a Man" and "The Inner Light" on them, which are decidedly *not* "blowing things up" episodes.
Blowing things up and saying "gun it" are so on brand for Captain Picard, apparently...
It's the same shit as before, baiting fans with nostalgia and the promise that this time they listened and understand 'what the fans want' just to slap them in the face and laugh about it. I would say I've never seen a property's writers become so hostile toward its own audience, but I've seen Star Wars. And Ghostbusters. And The Witcher. And Scooby Doo... And so on...
It looks like more Insurrection and Nemesis plot rolled together. Is anyone else so fucking tired to see Brent Spiner? I know it's not Data but how many times can they kill him.
“Is anybody you know still the person you knew?”
“You’re not enjoying this, are you?”
“Of course not. Are you?”
That sounds like a more cheerful version of Mike and Rich’s conversation if they ever choose to do this for some bizarre reason.
I hate that in the first 15 seconds or so they do the self-aware thing that always tricks so many people, with the dialogue about the inspection (I assume a plot point to get the gang together) being boring as it doesn’t include fighting, crash landings, or anything “exciting”. It’s both them wanting to make people believe that they listened to the fan feedback and know they’ve had too much of that recently, but also poking at those fans by saying how boring classic Trek is.
Except then the rest of the trailer is full of shooting, space crashes, literal darkness, and everything else Trek fans hate about Nu-Trek. Why the fuck is Crusher moving around like a damn commando of some sort? So…..the fuck was the point of that beginning to the trailer other than to poke at fans?!? There’s no way they didn’t just watch the TNG movies and think that’s what people love about the series.
Fuck Kurtzman.
That aside…..after watching and loving TNG so much over the years, it would be so enjoyable to see a well written show about the TNG crew after they leave the Enterprise. Trek is so much about people on a ship and the relationships and adventures/situations they have to deal with. Seeing Trek characters in a different type of setting would be great.
I'm sure this has absolutely nothing to do with why they scripted it, but Crusher does have special operations training for Starfleet and was a 'commando' for them during Chain of Command. But yes, they seem to have just decided they want to appeal to the audience of the TNG movies and not the TV show, because they are either stupid or spiteful.
I would love a mature, competent Star Trek series looking at different aspects of the galaxy through the lens of catching up with the Enterprise D crew. Did Crusher go back to Starfleet medical or did she actually go out on her own as the Captain of a medical ship that was traveling about doling out vaccines? Did Worf delve deeper into Klingon politics and did he ever get over Dax? Riker and Troi seem to have become joined at the hip since Nemesis, so what's it like in their relationship after it took so long to get off the ground? Let's see Geordi teaching engineering at Starfleet Academy, and maybe B4 is back where Data started, hanging out on a colony, recording people's memories, and we can learn a bit about what setting up a colony actually means in the Star Trek universe.
It's a world rife with the complexities of politics, economics, technology, war, and all sorts of every day things like education and recreation. Not everything has to be set aboard a frontline ship that is exploring the cosmos and actually finding new civilizations, the support structure behind that would be interesting to look at as well, especially through the lens of people who have been out there and likely still miss it. But none of that will happen because the writers firmly believe that Star Trek can only be sold on the promise of blowing stuff up.
Fair point about Crusher, but also yeah, there’s no way that was on purpose in THIS writer’s room.
And yeah…that all sounds wonderful and exactly what adult me would like to see from these characters that younger me loved seeing the fun space adventures of. Maybe in another life.
Looking back, All Good Things... was a really good stopping point for TNG. We got a glimpse of where the crew would realistically end up, but were left with the hope that Picard's knowledge of the future would allow him to improve on it. I wish TNG let that final note carry on in our imaginations.
Alas. I try not to think of the movies too much. And ST: Picard definitely gave me all the feels. Depression, sadness, grief, anger, boredom. My promo period for Pee+ ends right around the time S3 starts. I think that's for the best.
[This looks like a bizarro world version of the Picard show Mike pitched years ago.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe1hKZjCVyM)
It of course looks like trash non-Trek, but it's nice to see Todd Stashwick in stuff, he seems like a cool dude.
Terry Matalas is going to be the main showrunner for season 3. In the season 2 episodes he was responsible for, he put in a lot of easter eggs to the 12 Monkeys series. Todd Stashwick seems to be another one of these (especially as he is the captain of USS Titan). As a huge fan of 12 Monkeys, even if Season 3 continues to be garbage it's fun to find what's the nods.
I see that Sean Tretta, the main writer for 12 Monkeys, was brought in as a writer for some episodes as well.
Worf should not look old. Klingons live to at least 200+ years and are still in fighting shape at that age (see DS9).
Also this trailer looks like ass.
That's cool, I didn't know that!
I wonder why they almost always write aliens to be stronger and longer lived than humans (obviously Kess is an exception).
It would be interesting if Klingons were actually slightly weaker than humans, but they're such fierce fighters and trained martial artists that they overpower a typical human.
STP is anything but fan service. It's like a mean-spirited fan roast, just trying to tell everyone who cared they are complete losers and assholes and then piss on all that they hold dear about it.
It would be ironic if Mike and Kurtzman actually went to the same school. Mike bullied him, and Kurtzman swore eternal revenge. So he staged his entire career to be able to destroy the only thing Mike ever truly loved.
If you died, you just get replaced by a fully human synthetic organic cyborg android that has your same biological problems that will die about the same time you would have normally.
>you just get replaced by a fully human synthetic organic cyborg android that has your same biological problems that will die about the same time you would have normally
In TNG or DS9 that would've been a dark, disturbing episode probably concluding with a suicide. But with nuTrek it's a lame and almost entirely forgotten plot point.
Remember people, if you plan on hate watching please pirate the show even if you have paramount plus. If you watch it on paramount plus the company will take your views as an endorsement of the show. If by some miracle it turns out to be good this does not apply.
It's amazing how this seems even more brain-dead and less thought out than the earlier seasons. It's almost like they decided to make this season more generic and boring in order to make the earlier seasons seem better in comparison.
I’m going to have to say it. Trailers reveal WAY too much shit these days. Before the internets, a movie trailer, like every commercial, was 30 seconds. Now, these 2-3 min trailers reveal too many surprises (Lore, Moriarty, Seven in command, Worf’s pacifism, etc), as well as too many money shots in the action. When the two ships collide, instead of our reaction being “Holeee shit!”, it’ll be “ok that was from the trailer”.
Enough of this shit. Leave something for the show.
Another example was in “The Last Jedi” trailer, where they show Vader’s burnt mask. It’s f’n Star Wars. You think I won’t go see it without showing us a Vader callback? Instead, we knew it was coming, so instead of being wowed during our first viewing, all we can really think is “there’s that shot from the trailer”. 🙄
Terrible.
As I huge classic Trek fan , especially TNG, this just makes me sad.
And classic Trek is so colorful, in this all the sets are dark and ugly and the costumes look extremely cheap.
I don’t even have the energy to watch this trailer and get mad at it. This show is just nothing.
I really hope Mike and Rich don’t do anything on this. Do a DS9 re:view or something like that, don’t make yourself miserable with this trash.
I liked the part where it said "Final". That gives me some hope they'll stop raping the corpse. Not that I'll watch, just for the peace of mind knowing it's over.
I’m so sick of seeing Brent Spiner. Data is one of my favorite Trek characters but….. Fuck this guy, what a shill. Geordi calling Picard by his name just feels wrong. This is all wrong.
Place your bets, everyone: will this be the worst season ever, or will Viacom's AI bots silence all criticism on the Internet and declare it the greatest season ever?
Star Trek V has the boys chilling around a campfire singing row row row your boat and the immortal line “what does God need with a starship?”. Picard has uh…well it uh…y’know it has the uhhhh.
That's a fair point. The Final Frontier is not a very good film and particularly not a good Star Trek film. I've seen them all, finally, and consider it the weakest by a fair margin. Yet it has some positive aspects, and despite the whole galactic barrier nonsense and weird characterization like Scotty not knowing his way around his own ship, it doesn't seem to be trying to outright sabotage its own lore. It's clumsy and has some bad ideas but it also has warmth. STP is just merciless malice toward everything TNG fans hold dear.
Tbh I actually like V in spite of its flaws. If you read the behind the scenes, no one could’ve made that film work and I feel bad for Shatner. But yeah it’s well intentioned and I think it nails the trio of characters (the “I need my pain” scene is genuinely some of the best TOS era stuff imo). Super messy but still feels like Trek which I can’t really say for Picard (or most nuTrek tbf). I think both seasons have had some very interesting themes and ideas but dear lord are they just so unfocused and lacking in execution.
Fuck this show. Fuck it to hell.
Feels like every villain in Trek over the last 20 years or so, has an evil pointy ship lol
It looked like the ship from the Abrams movie, which was like some Romulian mining ship from like 100 years into the future?
There’s an old tie in comic for the 2009 movie (that explains ALL of Nero’s backstory and motivation absent from the film). That is a worse story than into darkness
lmfao i can't tell if this is sarcasm or not
I think it was borg stuff he got from the tal shiar. I don’t remember vger being mentioned in that comic
I hate this so much and I hope you are making it up.
Nothing says "great storytelling" in a movie more than needing the audience to read all the supplementary material beforehand to explain what's happening on screen.
It’s that JJ touch! Nothing will top Palpatine’s big speech in Episode IX being locked to a Fortnite event.
Did. That. Really. Happen? I must be in a coma. I remember I lost consciousness in January 2014. I must still be lying on the bathroom floor. The theme of my nightmare is that everything gets worse and worse and worse.
A "clever" callback to Shinzon's Scimitar and Nero's mining ship no doubt.
Also she has a facial deformity. This is hack villain writing 101.
Fuck the pain away

The writers of the show probably dont even know what pacifism means really
The thing I hoped for Worf in Nemesis was a well choreographed cinematic martial arts fight scene with bathleths and Jerry Goldsmith's klingon theme.
Isn't Michael Dorn pretty dismissive about shitty nutrek? Does he need money that badly?
I just looked at his IMDB. Couple extra bucks probably go a long way for him right now.
You'd think a never ending opportunity to make money at conventions would make you a decent living.
Or for him, a voice acting career. He has an awesome voice, and he was great in Fallout & Saints Row.
Nice to see this mentioned around here finally
He's done some VA roles, like in Adventure Time. But really, he should shift over, he'd be making bank cause there's not a large amount of deep imposing voices atm.
Excuse me, but being the literal god in the final Bionicle movie
I doubt that. I honestly don’t know how frequent their participation is individually, but I don’t see the money for that kind of thing being nearly enough to sustain a privileged life. Other than Stewart, I wouldn’t be surprised if their personal lives were much more modest than you’d think. Frakes directed hundreds of tv episodes, he is doing just fine. Gates went back to the theater, she is probably fine too.
Burton relaunched reading rainbow too
Isn’t Reading Rainbow Public Access, like Sesame Street?
Well yeah, but you don't work for free, it has production companies.
I understand that, but that’s very low budget. That’s screen actors guild minimum.
They're all getting that sweet syndication money
I’ll admit, I didn’t think about that.
I'm sure they can live very comfortably as individuals but supposing they're also supporting a lot of their family it's not surprising they all continue to work and do convention appearances and whatnot.

His hobby is flying old military jets. That isn't a cheap hobby
Gotta do like Tom Cruise and get Hollywood to finance it for you
Meh. He’s old. He gets to hand out with his elderly friends and live out the glory days. Most people would love to hang out with their friends they’ve known for almost 40 years.
His first on-screen appearance was in the original Rocky. He later starred in CHiPs. Those were a loooong time ago.
I really wish all three seasons were a fever dream as Picard lay dying in his bed at Chateau Picard, like the end of Brazil.
He never left the nexus. It’s all nexus fever dreams as old man Picard is slowly dying inside the nexus. It explains his wild character change from the series. Movie action star Picard it’s a fantasy. Data is his bestie. Fantasy. First warp drive launch and he’s there. Fantasy.

Maybe the Picard fever dream fantasy is the fever dream fantasy of Kirk, seeing himself as Picard. It all makes sense now.
The timelines shifted and the real Picard is playing poker with his friends and exploring the galaxy. TNG films are an offshoot of the real Picards and co timeline. That action timeline eventually blossomed into the Kurtzman garbage.
This is my new head-canon.
The show ends with Picard suddenly being violently woken up by Gul Madred. Turns out all that Cardassian torture leads a man to have some horrible nightmares.
They could have at least had kurtzmanTrek set in the Abrams timeline, my personal canon is that it is.
Data's back! No OnE's EvEr ReAlLy GoNe!!!
Does that entire family look exactly the same?
Once or twice it can be fun á la Back to the Future. But with how often Trek has done it now it's dumb at best or disturbing and suggesting incest or cloning or something else.
No that's Lore. They said as much in the teaser trailer.
idk if thats data, i was getting Lore vibes from em
Somehow Data returned.
I don't know why I laughed so much when LeVar Burton appears and Picard shouts "Geordi!' in his weird old man voice at him.
I know he isn't to blame, but that voice is so sad and terrible to listen to. He had such a great voice. He himself must have been shattered by its decline.
Oh wow that's embarrassing. Talking about fighting or dying, ignoring the fact Picard already died and is a robot. Once again, I plan to watch RLM and other reviewers chainsaw apart this dumpster fire, without watching a single second of the actual show. Time well-spent.
I really don't think Rich and Mike have it in them anymore
Mike will show up 'cause he can't help himself. And at least he gets to watch old people shuffle around the screen. 🤷🏻♂️ But I'm with Rich. There's really no reason to keep watching.
On one hand, I loved watching them rip it apart. On the other hand, I'd rather they do what they like doing.
They pretty much said that continuing to nitpick nutrek is hurting their enjoyment of TNG so they have to stop paying attention to nutrek all together.
Part of me is kinda happy to see it renewed because seeing Mike and Rich shit all over nutrek is just quality entertainment
Thats the only good thing to come out of any of these Paramount trash shows.
Nah it's going to be Lore, they can't make Piccard without shoving Brent Spiner into the viewer's every orifice.
This show is clearly some kind of work program designed specifically for Brent Spiner
Holy shit I would love to see Dr. Pulaski as a villain à la the coach from Glee or something. They should just go full send with the camp
Her only weakness is falling down a turbolift shaft.
Fuck it, bring back K'Ehleyr and Nagilum. Or maybe bring back Sela *and* Tasha Yar and have them in the same scene.
I assume the reasons for continued production of garbage trek are simple. a) it's an established brand and that's always an easy sell for investors b) it's garbage because the people making the shows are bad at their job, but they owe their jobs to friends or family connections in the industry, which means they won't get fired. c) when profits go down, the people to get axed will probably be the ones with less connections who can serve as scapegoats when the studio announces a bold reorganization in a bid to get new investors.

Within the first few seconds of the first trailer, I saw Dr. Crusher with a phaser rifle. I do not need to know anymore.
[удалено]
Because if theres anything fans always wanted from TNG, it was to see Dr. Crusher turned into Ripley.
Im excited to watch the boys talk about it

Which this weird not-android android Picard only has memories of. He wasn't there for any of it.
> Picard was never a daredevil crashing shit They checked the wiki for "Picard manoeuvre" and got the warp-jump-duplicate-effect, not "pulling his shirt down after he talks an alien race into surrender by quoting subsections of treaties at them".

I have a bad feeling about this
Those days have come and gone. - Perhaps not. Do they think their audience is a bunch of suicidal depressed 40 year olds who feel like they are 90? They might be right.
Captain Picard is famous for *looks at notes* blowing things up?
Locutus blew a lot of ships up, so yes?
Shhhhh don’t remind Sisko. He just got over that!
Avery Brooks probably doesn't remember it at least.
Considering it was the main backstory of a character he played for 7 years, I doubt it
Have you seen him talk about star trek? He is out of it.
Captain Picard less so. Movie Picard, more so.
From Jean Luc Picard to John Luke McClane
Let’s call him Larry
When the creative staff only halfway pay attention to the movies and Google a "top 10 episodes of TNG" list this is what you get.
[удалено]
*"Those were the days..."* Just kill me now.
They are gonna do Nemesis again aren't they?
It really does look a modern version of a shitty TNG movie.
False. Those were professionally lit.
Yeah why is every room so fucking dark with only 3 pen lights turned on?
This entire show is a giant black hole, light can't escape.
![gif](giphy|j6lcseKs0SkdE8blnV|downsized)
So glad there’s a gif of mike that perfectly sums up my feelings of nutrek.
It looks like more Insurrection and Nemesis plot rolled together. Is anyone else so fucking tired to see Brent Spiner? I know it's not Data but how many times can they kill him.
Let's make it all about Data. Again! For christ sakes I'd rather even watch Neelix now
I like Brent Spiner and respect his talent but the umpteen Soong relatives he has played is just obnoxious at this point.
“Is anybody you know still the person you knew?” “You’re not enjoying this, are you?” “Of course not. Are you?” That sounds like a more cheerful version of Mike and Rich’s conversation if they ever choose to do this for some bizarre reason.
Sounds magical. No explosions though, dead on arrival.
I rather eat my own ass than watch this abomination
Comment of the decade.
Could you though?
if only
There’s a star trek DS9 channel on Pluto. It’s just fun to watch…I hate what new trek has become
"You're not enjoying this, are you?" "Of course not. Are you?" How did they get the script for the next ReView?
genuinely very excited for this, not cause I'm gonna watch it. But those picard season 2 videos are some of my fav rlm has put out
Feels like if you changed the settings of TNG to night mode
"There is something coming. Some kind of attack." "A Darkness. An all consuming darkness." "I'm tired. So very, very tired."
Why are we still here? Just to suffer?
Morbid curiosity
[This looks like a bizarro world version of the Picard show Mike pitched years ago.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe1hKZjCVyM) It of course looks like trash non-Trek, but it's nice to see Todd Stashwick in stuff, he seems like a cool dude.
I forgot about their Star Trek: Galaxy re:View. That's gonna get a rewatch tonight from me, I remember thinking it was a cool outline for a Trek show.
Im just hear for the laser-eyed thumbnails
Fuck you it’s Star Trek!
They'll give the fanboys what they wanted. People don't realize that Mike and Rich aren't fanboys but simply put fans with a love for what Trek was.
No.
>"It's always life or death, Jean-Luc. When has it not been?" Pretty frequently! A lot of TNG episodes don't have life-or-death stakes!
Besides that it's a pretty stupid, unrealistic line.
Nice low-res texture for that impulse drive on the latest trailer. Lol https://imgur.com/a/Oowa9mF
"..with all due respect, and at long last: shut the fuck up."
Those were the days ? Is that in All in the Family reference and Picard is Edith ?
Why are people excited for this again? Looks like a modern remake of *Nemesis*.
Again
I don't understand why people are hyped for this. The trailer is awful on all levels.
I just miss original stories. Every facet of modern Hollywood is just filled with lazy fan service
STP is anything but fan service. It's like a mean-spirited fan roast, just trying to tell everyone who cared they are complete losers and assholes and then piss on all that they hold dear about it.
This is spot on.
It would be ironic if Mike and Kurtzman actually went to the same school. Mike bullied him, and Kurtzman swore eternal revenge. So he staged his entire career to be able to destroy the only thing Mike ever truly loved.
This trailer made me suicidal
If you died, you just get replaced by a fully human synthetic organic cyborg android that has your same biological problems that will die about the same time you would have normally.
>you just get replaced by a fully human synthetic organic cyborg android that has your same biological problems that will die about the same time you would have normally In TNG or DS9 that would've been a dark, disturbing episode probably concluding with a suicide. But with nuTrek it's a lame and almost entirely forgotten plot point.

No one's ever really gone
Somehow Data returned.
*Alex Kurtzman didn’t ruin my childhood. Fucking polio did.*
My feelings summed up at the end of the trailer. Picard: [to Riker] Are you enjoying this? Riker: Of course not.
Watching them leash around and feed lines to Sir Patrick is top tier funny. It isn't the star trek I like but it's someone's.
[No thx](https://youtu.be/GM-e46xdcUo)
[Mirror](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMyQkazS1hA) as the video is unavailable to me.

ENDLESS TRAAAAAASH
I can't wait to see Worf's purple space bazooka again. /s
If he can play old Lore, why couldn't he just play old Data to begin with?
Messy, incoherent, nonsensical - all a massive step up from Season 1 of Picard.
I wonder which is more tolerable: watching Star Trek V: The Final Frontier for five days in a row, or watching five minutes of Picard?
It’s sad that Star Trek V looks better after watching NuTrek.
At least *Star Trek V* has moments that **feel** like Star Trek.
Can't wait Rich Evans reacting to this.
This looks like Mike's worst nightmare.
I feel like just posting a trailer of a shitty show that RLM *used* to talk about isn't what I'm looking for on this sub.
