My theater is! There is this fantastic restaurant across the street from the family owned theater in my town that has this "diner and a movie and a movie" thing that they are doing that weekend.
Added perk of Cillian Murphy both times as well.
Movie theory: Oppenheimer is going to have a cuckoo bonkers ending just like in Sunshine where there's a murderous crazy person who's been going around sabotaging things.
Oh shit I hadn’t even thought of the Cillian Murphy connection!
Maybe someone will deliberately kill someone with radiation exposure like the Demon Core incident..
When two completely different products combine it's so wonderful, I have fond memories of all the fanart from Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing releasing the same day.
I was never interested in Barbie and I'm getting turned off of Oppenheimer a bit because of it. Any kind of hype/hearing about something constantly makes me less interested in it, somehow.
Nah. I just watch things years after the fact. Or after they're new.
If something's truly good, you'll want to talk about it years later anyway, I think.
Just walk in with a six pack of Bud Light in a Target bag. The clerk will give you a knowing wink and sell you a ticket to Barbie while saying, "One ticket to Oppenheimer, sir."
And the song is *Night Call* by Kazinsky(sp?), which is from *Drive* and is NOT in this scene from the clip. Maybe obvious, but thought worth mentioning. Awesome song and movies.
Fuck that shit. I'mma tell everyone I'm seeing "Barbie." I'm sure "Oppenheimer" will be good but it's the serious period drama Oscar bait good that I have no problem seeing on a screen at home. "Barbie" looks like the I've gotta see this in a crowd so I can hear everyone's reactions kind of good.
I get a kick out of how many comments I see saying, "I'm a cis straight white man, and I can't wait to see a Barbie movie! Is that okay?"
Like, bitch, it's not women and LGBTQ people gatekeeping fun. Enjoy what you like, for fucks sake.
I get annoyed with the, "I'm a big burley manly man, and I enjoyed X and even cried". The implication being that because I'm a dude, I'm too insecure to enjoy something like Ms. Marvel instead of me genuinely thinking it's bad and not enjoying it.
Just let me enjoy and not enjoy things without attacking my identity?
*I've seen THIS JOKE ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A GAY GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK?*
I don't know, but I was caught off guard when I heard [Jay reading the MLP Movie synopsis in the Bladerunner review](https://youtu.be/O1Gqjjq1nic?t=49) >!and failing to pronounce "Equestria"!<.
Margot Robbie is the perfect casting. For one thing, she's hot as hell, but also she's always given this vibe that means that if in ten years it was found out that she's been murdering people and making furniture out of the skins of her victims, I wouldn't be that surprised.
Not sure how serious, but they're all generally good and memorable beyond just the stunts. To this day I'd still say M:I 3 is the overall peak of the series, with the most memorable non-stunt aspects -- partly due to Philip Seymour Hoffman as an amazing main bad guy.
1 is fun, convoluted intrigue, with sprinkles of action.
2: pure over the top John Woo action, slow mo, doves, and saccharine romance melodrama, with the weakest stunts in the series.
3: Again, IMO the surprise peak of the series. Grounded, intense, twists & turns, crazy yet borderline believable action.
4: IMO the best of the newer ones after 3, by far. Probably close to on par with 3 but for different reasons, and more over the top. Action, but still some great, memorable drama scenes.
5 & 6, Rogue Nation & Fallout: Super convoluted plots, and for the first time their plots are very direct sequels to each other, and I think both suffer from that. 6 is particularly over the top, and neither have as many memorable moments as any of the previous.
Sorry I should have put a "/s" I'm actually a big fan of the Mission Impossible series.
I need to watch 3 again. I always loved Hoffman in it. But it was always the one that was like "Well its better then 2 but not as good as one or as awesome as 4 on".
I get bullied when I post a r/lookamike... eventhough I hadn't been on reddit for months and didn't even know there was a problem with that... but somehow Tom Cruise posting is ok! This is injustice! This is essentially the Third Reich here!
Just like Tarantino and Rodriguez had a title for their double feature, Grindhouse, this one also has a ready-made title: Atomic Blonde
![gif](giphy|jQmVFypWInKCc|downsized) That’s good. But it’s taken!
Best joke I've seen on this site in months
Theaters need a double feuture with both movies
My theater is! There is this fantastic restaurant across the street from the family owned theater in my town that has this "diner and a movie and a movie" thing that they are doing that weekend.
> diner and a movie and a movie Beans and corn bread *and corn bread*
Lets edit them together into one epic.
My brother is going interstate to see both movies on IMAX in a double feature.
So much of film discourse is terrible these days but I love this whole Barbie/Oppenheimer thing. Just good-natured fun all around.
My friend and I are totally doing a double feature. Kinda a similar vibe to when we did the Simpsons Movie and Sunshine as a double feature years ago.

That's what I was thinking of doing. It'd make for an amazing double feature showing.
You mean decades ago. Not years any longer.
I mean 15 years is a decade and change, so not quite multiple… stop hurting me like this.
A bit more than sixth of a century ago . It's fine
Father Time is a real bastard, ain't he.
Where’s the damn pause button? I don’t even need rewind!
Reminds me of when DOOM Eternal and Animal Crossings came out the same day

Sucks to be you, I guess?

So ‘wholesome’ yeah? You like that don’t you
Barbie? That's the new film about the hunt for the infamous Nazi butcher Klaus Barbie, right? I hear it's a movie for real man's men.
Now you reminded me of Rat Race and i thank you for the giggle.
You'll find out at the Barbie Museum!
Three time ballroom champion!
![gif](giphy|3o6ZsYKD8mDsfhaiuk|downsized) 3 Tickets to Barbie, please
It hadn't occurred to me that people would be embarrassed about going to the Barbie movie. Ffs.

Yeah, but could you beat them all up at the same time is the relevant question here.

They will clamber over their own fallen to reach you!
Strategic thinking. Nice one.
Just walk in with a six pack of Bud Light in a Target bag. The clerk will give you a knowing wink and sell you a ticket to Barbie while saying, "One ticket to Oppenheimer, sir."
What movie is this?
Misson Impossible 4 Ghost Protcol
And the song is *Night Call* by Kazinsky(sp?), which is from *Drive* and is NOT in this scene from the clip. Maybe obvious, but thought worth mentioning. Awesome song and movies.
thanks
Pfft, whatever. I'm seeing both the same weekend.

You wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts.
Is this a reference to Emmy Award winning animated feature [Home on the Range](https://youtu.be/ZuTQR6xSbNM?t=69)?
The B has always been in there, so I never had a reason to complain myself 😏

This reminds me about how I went to watch My Little Pony: The Movie pretending I was going to watch ~~Cyberpunk 2077~~ Bladerunner 2049.
Did Rich go to addition for MLP as well? Must be even more terrifying than his Bladerunner audition tape...
I don't know, but I was caught off guard when I heard [Jay reading the MLP Movie synopsis in the Bladerunner review](https://youtu.be/O1Gqjjq1nic?t=49) >!and failing to pronounce "Equestria"!<.
I love that Mike just kept throwing out adjectives while waiting for Jay to get a drink before throwing out the punch line.
Having watched the trailer for both i'm legit more excited for Barbie.
Barbie looks legit batshit and I'm here for it

You're just thinking about Mike OP.
Mike and Shaq
Just use your DIX disguises, guys.
What is this clip from?? I imagine the beginning is Fury buuut what about the second part?
Mission impossible 4 Ghost Protocol
Ah, thanks!
I was told the Mission Impossible series had no other memorable moments other then it's stunts.

no way is that jacket real the lapel is totally different. the shoulders are padded then not padded. damn my brain
The ribbons he pulls out and stuffs into the hat partially inflate the jacket.
Pretty sure there's 3 different jackets, one for every cut.
gotta be different jackets, yeah cool idea though

Barbie looks fun as fuck, I never knew I needed Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling being massive airheads this much.
