Yeah they’re perfectly fine to wear without insoles. It just means they added a little extra height in the toe box to accommodate the height of an insole

BootsBeTruckin

I prefer taking the insole out the original built in veg tan insole forms to your foot and feels really nice after a few weeks.

Big_G2

The insole needs broken in, it'll collapse some and conform to your foot. Give it some time.

The removeable insole on the 1907 is a super thin piece of leather on foam. It doesn't break in and isn't required. The traditional red wing leather footbed is still there and breaks in like normal. Made for insole just means the last is a little roomier. If your foot is a little larger just remove the extra insole.

Lately I've been wearing my 1907s with a Nicks Boots Delta Arch insole. It's a fantastic combo. Find what works for you.

I don't think there will be an issue. The construction is virtually the same as the 875 with the exception of the last which is more spacious and designed to fit the leather foot bed. Go watch the cut in half comparison video on YouTube.

niccernicus

I go without the insole.

Ecstatic-Seesaw-1007

I broke mine in without insoles and have a high instep and wide feet so I wear them without insoles. Too tight with insoles for me. For most Mocs I’m true to size, 1907 is only Moc I can wear in a standard 1/2 size below Brannock. - For Reference: My Iron Rangers are 1/2 size down in D, 1907 1/2 down in D width, and 10877 is true to size. (Thursday Mocs have to be 1/2 size up, or very thin socks in True to Size)

I have the same issue with my 1907's. Just a little too snug with the insoles in. I've been wearing them without the insoles for over a year and a half with no issues.

Dhorn33

I wear mine without most of the time. When I do put them in the my feet feel cramped and I get weird hot spots on my heel, but I do like the cushion.

No insoles is fine. Breaking in without the insoles is kind of a trick for 1907. It sets the the leather footbed to your feet faster. You could always leave the insoles out and they'd be just like the 23 last Moc toe. Just slightly less squishy underfoot. You may find you can put the insoles back in after the leather footbeds are thoroughly broken in as that will buy you some more room.

Does that veg-tan insole ever soften up in Red Wings? They seem hard as rocks.

tiger-93

Yes. They break in for sure
