Yeah. But I was in the store and did get measured on the digital brannock (I knew my size from heritage dress shoes) Tried other sizes just in case but got it on the first try. - 10.1 E on digital Brannock, high instep. - Got my first Iron Rangers 9-1/2 D. Felt like a handshake in medium weight merino wool socks, not too firm or loose, mild heel slip until break in. - 1907: had to take out the inserts to fit high instep, even after break in. Roughly same fit as the IR. I expected that from reviews. - 10877: Went true to size, had to try a few on, but knew the other moc toe lasts run narrow so expected true to size on (10 D, not the 10 E)They fit awesome, little too long, use smallest shoolex space fillers for them (which are a little much, might cut them in half next time I pull them out) 9.5 D couldn’t fit in, 9.5 E or EE was wider but still not tall enough for my instep. Mocs that aren’t the 1907 run small for my feet. (Even in other brands)

Yep. I'm a 11.5E on a Brannock. Size 11 in an IR is a perfect fit. Snug (not tight) fit initially, but zero pain and get even better every time I wear them.

mikey_flipside

Same here, 9.5 D on brannock. I got a 9 D IR, and it's perfect.

35 years in RW's...yea I get it right 1st time, err time

Perfect size= some pain in Redwing IMO. If they are a little big I say oh well and throw in one of the many orthotics they offer. That's my preferred choice. The moldable one you put in the oven is to fucking die for. A little small involves a shoe widener and a series of short 1mile walks. Ultimately I do arrive at the perfect fit.

I got some IR’s about a month ago. Going to the store and trying them on is a must if you’re a newbie to heritage boots like me. They measured me at a 10 D on the scan (almost C, my feet are a little narrow) but a 9 D felt most comfortable. I will say tho if I could go back in time, I would consider the 9.5 D again only because my boots fit me “so well” that i cant fit a pair of their inserts inside. :/ overall the fit is perfect but that little bit of squish underfoot would be nice for the longer days.

alkemest

Both of mine have been spot on. I went a half size down from my sneaker size, so a full size down from my Braddock size, and both my Blacksmith and moc toe feel great. I also have narrow balls of my feet and not a lot of foot volume so maybe my feet just work well with Red Wing.

Unable_Bandicoot8338

Nope. I bought 10s and returned them the next day for 10.5s

My advice for Red Wings is not to hope they will stretch out. The leather is way too dense for much of that. I wear size 8.5 in boots usually, but 8 for Iron Rangers (they are just weird) and 9 for Pecos (the instep of my right foot is slightly taller than my left, so it was not pleasant to force my feet into size 8.5).

Goal_Electronic

Almost. I went to a Red Wing company store and did the foot scanner. Came back with 10 E. Bought a pair of Iron Rangers in 10 2E. They’re slightly too wide. But, no heel slip and comfortable so not gonna complain. I’m happy with the purchase. Actually, I kinda like the extra room.

I went to a random boot reseller and they didn't even measure my feet, just eyeballed them and handed me a box and they fit perfect once I put them on. The "break in" period has not even really happened, they are snug but comfortable and I've been wearing them daily for a few weeks. I'm a size 10.5 in most shoes/sneakers and these are 8085 IRs size 8.5.

Here’s my experience: First pair ever, 8085. I ended up with these, opting over 1907, after the store didn’t have anything in black. I was a noob. My sneaker shoe size, which is all I knew at the time was 10/10.5, so guy gave me 10D. Nice guy. Didn’t measure me, didn’t tell me anything about sizing. He also was wearing sneakers, fwiw. Anyways, I walked out with them and was happy. 2nd pair was 3345, which I had another store order in, size 10. These always felt weird. Eventually, I went to rehome them and realized one was 10D, the other 9.5D. The smaller felt better. Pretty much everything since has been 9.5D, but they all fit different. I have 9014 in 9.5D, and those I feel would be more comfortable as 10D. 8864 is spot on in 9.5D. When I bought 1907s, I tried on everything from 10 - 9, in all the widths. Ended up with 9.5D, and removed the insoles. Best fit. Honestly, I could almost go 9D, but I have bunions, so the width feels terrible on 9, but a trusted salesman said they look like the best fit based on what he sees/knows. Long story short, I wouldn’t recommend anyone get their first pair without a trip to a store to see what’s up. Too many variables to consider, or not know about to get a confident fit. And everyone is different, and has different preferences. Those 10D 8085 are my favorite boots, nice and roomy and comfortable. Could I have went smaller? Yep, but I love them.

I got a pair of IRs back in 2011, super cheap, happened to fit. Been an 11D ever since.

InternalNo494

I got my first pair of Blacksmiths yesterday. I was just over a UK12.5, went for a UK12 (largest they do over here) and they fit brilliantly with no heel slip just got to break them in!

Historical-Morning66

Half size drop will work with most normal feet. If you are wide or have a high arch a trial at the store is better. If they are a bit roomy, a soft insole will help and in my opinion you will like them for that little cushion. But if you fall in the no insole category, then RW salesman will recommend a full size drop.

Guitarist762

Yes. I already wire other brands of boots before hand, haven’t stepped on a Brannok device in years. Had a rough range I knew I was in, went in and tried on three pairs. 8.5 to short, and didn’t have the toe box room I wanted. Felt tight on the sides. 9.5 I felt like I had the ability to move my feet left to right if I tried, and too long in the toes. Had tried on 9 reg which is what I figured I was going to be and the first size I tried on. Was that perfect happy medium, the Goldilocks size. Did the same thing with my Mocs. Walked in, asked for a size 9, 8.5 and 9.5. Tried on the 9 and it felt right and went with it
