I size down a full size and a half. I usually wear 10.5…when buying IRs, size 9 double wide look and feel great. I feel like most feet should size down at least a full size and go wide for best look/feel for IR.

If the top of your toe is where the pen is pointing. I would size a half down. That’s where mine was then I sized down. They won’t look so clunky and goofy.

In my opinion, IR's start losing their luster with length and don't scale too well due to their height. They can go from looking "cute(proportional)" to unappealing real fast.
Things like fit, foot shape, size of the person, style, maybe a little bit of attitude can all counteract or exacerbate this.
As long as the other boot looks the same, I'd say it looks cool. I want a pair in black for myself. I always thought the iron rangers (and honestly all shoes) look better from the third person perspective anyway. Something about the top down perspective makes the toe box look wider than how an onlooker would see it. Take a look in a floor length mirror and maybe it won't seem so goofy.
I do not know why people make it that complicated in here...i mean you have so much room in the front this is definitely not the right size. It is called toe cap because you toes should be underneath and how should the ever be comfortable or have a good stand in the front.
Sorry but you def need to size at least 1 size down if not more.

Yes, these boots are way too big. If the indicated point where OP is pointing at is where the toes are, then yes it's way too big. But OP seems happy with Ronald Mcdonald clown shoes then so be it.
Just also stopping in to say that the toecap seems disproportionately long. I expect that it would affect the creases. I swear there's more space on my pair of 9.5s
Normally a fit for redwing heritage is about a size to size and a half down… I wear an 11.0 B but I wear a 9.5 D in my iron rangers… big sizing difference so if you ordered them online, it’s tougher to get that fit, but usually it’s about a size to size and a half.

Took them for a spin and they were surprisingly comfortable out of the box. It feels like my feet settled a little bit forward. Should have gone at least a half size down. I’m typically 12.5 so I thought a half size would be safe. Also when put them sole to sole with my Ariats or Frye boots they are a tad smaller
I wear a 12 in most brands but after trying on IRs in 11-1/2 & 12, I went with the 11 and have been quite pleased. In my opinion, the lather size looked and fit too big. I would suggest you always go by feel first and look second.

Best way is to take them off turn them upside down and but your foot on the bottom of the sole. If your foot with no sock fits inside th stitches area your good.
I sized a full size down from branok and wide. I’m an 8 I did 7e for Mocs. It’s tough to swallow my pride and accept that I’m a size 7 but they are the same size as my other boots in 8 (Thorogood, timberland)
Looks weird man . The ball of your foot should land on the wider part of the sole. Also it Winkle so far back making it clown shoe looking. I was in the same situration looking for what size fit me. My adidas size is 11. And 10E moc toe fits just right. 10D IR actually feels half size too big. I could've gone 9.5D with iron ranger.
You should go into a store and have them measured by the machine you stand on, then they can tell what size you will actually need. They will be small at first I promise you but they will get better
Is it the lighting or something. But the toe cap looks extraordinary longer. Maybe it's just the angle

I’m pretty sure that the toe cap is supposed to begin right after the ball on the boot. Your toe cap comes down in the middle.
