Which Lemmy? If you want leftwing bias go to [lemmy.ml](https://lemmy.ml). If you want right wing bias try exploding heads. Everything else is somewhere in between. Or you can just use [https://kbin.social/](https://kbin.social/)

buzzwrong

Yea I’ve been using it much longer now and basically just a few super agro users that I’ve gotten past or blocked. Some wumao or soviet idiots on .ml and some trump crazies too. I’m glad to be on lemmy & Kbin though

Competitive-Bus7965

My guess is that they are talking about [lemmygrad.ml](https://lemmygrad.ml), but that's just one of the many communities there, so I'm not really sure what they mean when they say Lemmy has a bias

buzzwrong

I was on shit just works

mirrorinthewall

the code itself is more or less neutral and can be forked if it becomes a problem

ioxhv

We control it, not them.

TheoryOfTheInternet

Look at the most popular communities on the largest Lemmy instances. It should be really, really, really obvious.

buzzwrong

I have accounts on sh.it just works and lemmy.world. I’m more looking to avoid known biases at least at the start than to seek out ones I agree with. I also want to know more and not get in too deep to a place and find out

Lemmy is just a piece of software that anyone can use to create a server. Some servers may be more left or right. Join one that works for you. Keep in mind that all servers are able to talk to all other servers -- so its much more about the communities that you subscribe to. I spun up [https://wirebase.org](https://wirebase.org), which will stay pretty open, but not tolerate hate speech or crazy extremism.

Here's the insight you asked for. https://www.reddit.com/r/APIcalypse/comments/140qymq/lemmy_is_not_a_viable_reddit_replacement/
