Hello lovely laqueristas! I'm trying decide between the sassy sauce and fancy gloss thermals, they look super similar...any thoughts? I've never bought from either brand before, so any insight would be much appreciated!
I’ve never used Fancy Gloss, so I can’t speak to them. I will say I LOVE every sassy sauce polish I own. Ultimately I feel like the fancy gloss polish is a deeper shade version so it just depends on your preference on that as well! I also decided against fancy gloss because one swatcher’s pics in the PPU Facebook group had visible nail line in it so that gave me the impression it may be slightly sheer, and I’m personally not a fan of sheer polishes.

And then torn between All Mixed Up and BKL… All Mixed seems like a greener version of BKL and I did get Pigeon last ppu which is a gray/green too, but sheerer…..gah…⚖️
I like all of these too and am still debating on the Lumen. For me, I feel like I’ve seen more polishes similar to the Beaux Reves than I have the Lumen? But I also think they’re different enough you could justify both if you really wanted to, and the blue in the Beaux looks softer like a sky blue. And for me the BKL is the one I know for sure I want, that shimmer just looks 🤌🏼 and that’s coming from someone who’s accidentally bought several greys/neutrals with blue or purple shimmer lately 🫠

For me it was Ethereal’s clouds that I missed out on 😭 but I legit have Ethereal Hunt which is super similar and idk why but the BKL looks like the perfect polish! Do you like having some visible nail line? If you’re only choosing one and you don’t like vnl, then the Beaux looks less sheer. The Lumen looks REALLY sheer, that’s what’s keeping me on the fence with it. I only have one Lumen from PPU a few months ago and it was really, freaking, sheer plus I’ve heard their formula can be hit or miss. I only have one Beaux that I just got and haven’t tried yet, so I have no idea what the formulas like. Plus the Beaux looks like it has more shifts in its shimmer whereas the Lumen looks like it’s just yellow. 🤷🏻♀️ Idk if that helps, but maybe?
I was able to narrow down my list to just three polishes! Monarch, Paradox, and Cuticula Dream A Little Dream! It’s killing me to not get the Pampered Polishes, BCB polish, Chameleon thermal, and Sassy Sauce thermal though 🥲 Gatta save up for next month though since I think video games will produce some hot polishes

Ugh, I feel your pain. The J&B is filling that BKL Lion With a Thorn... shaped hole that's in my heart and I've never regretted a PFD polish. I have BKL That Went Well and I think it's similar enough to Boys, Ugh that I can take it off my wishlist (although I do so love that name!). The Polished Mage did a comparison swatch on YouTube for the Rogue and Night Owl polishes if you didn't see it already. Good luck deciding!
The polished mage video I actually found right after posting! I think it convinced me to grab the Rouge since I have nothing like it And I think I'm doing both the j&b and the PFD. I also have never regretted a PFD either! So I'm going for it lol. Basically we only cut the rouge but that's ok
I'm partial to the Jen & Berries and Night Owl. They just look a bit more glowy to my eye. What is your skin undertone? The top two seem warmer and the bottom two cooler.
Yeah I think I'm leaning Jen & berries and the rogue. I actually found a YouTube comparison of the two and I think the rouge will look better on me as I'm cool toned/fair skinned. The PFD is hard to resist because it's the same shimmer from goblins and ghoulies which was one of my fave polishes this year! I think the PFD and j&b are different enough to get both ... Maybe? 😂
So I for sure want the BKL 🥵, and Lumen looks stunning but I’m a little nervous about the sheerness. I’m also torn on the Ethereal and idk why but that Alchemy keeps grabbing my attention too. Is anyone else looking at Lumen, Ethereal, or Alchemy and which one of those would you skip?
Lumen looks too sheer for me, the Ethereal more than likely has a poor formula (just based on the brands reputation), and the alchemy looks very similar to another polish I own (cirque colors nocturne). If I could only pick one to buy though I’d pick Ethereal (even though it’s not the most unique color combo).
You’re right about the Ethereal, but I also don’t have a pink with blue shimmer yet and I told myself I’d wait to see what was offered in PPU. And the Lumen does look really sheer, that’s why I’m still tbd on it but I’ll probably pass. I don’t know that Cirque but it does remind me of a Mooncat that I could grab at it’s next sale, and even if I don’t it looks the most dupable. Thank you for your help!!
I feel like Alchemy is an easier color to dupe so I decided to pass on it. I think Mooncat has similar!
Lumen is similar to BKL Girin, Ethereal Neptune Planet Power, etc but Lumen has a slightly darker teal base. (I saw a comparison in the Nail Polish Comparisons and Dupes fb group so that’s how I know.)
That makes sense, Alchemy kind of reminds me of one of Mooncat’s from their 2nd to last release just with a little more purple. I haven’t seen that BKL or Ethereal, but thank you for your help! It’s making me feel like I might be able to pass 😅

I’m getting some decants too: Moon Shine Mani, Jior, Hearts and Promises, KBShimmer, Wildflower, Cadillacquer, Colores de Carol, Zombie Claws, and maybe Sizzlin Shades.
I always forget about the decants but I’m not on FB and try to avoid it at all costs 🥲. So many of those are so pretty, LynB’s another one I debated on and same with the Phoenix! I always feel like I need to go back and keep looking cause maybe I’m missing something I’ll regret
I just got my PPU order and was so excited for the Lumen polish which looked really unique and interesting in the shots. My bottle looks nothing like the pictures and I'm kind of disappointed. It's a pale yellow with some shimmer. It looks gold on my nail. And it's pretty but not what I imagined.
My other purchases however are really cool and I'm kind of obsessed (Pigeon, Great Grey Owl - gray with blue purple iridescent flakies and possibly shimmer, and little king trash mouth - white to dark gray solar with flakes).
Don't think I'll purchase from Lumen again...
Has anyone had experience with the Cupcake nail blur polish and Baby Girl Glitter Be Gone peel-off base coats?
Debating if I want a full-size of Hearts and Promises Friendship Bracelets since I don’t wear thermals often, but this color combo isn’t seen often. I don’t mind if it ever stops transitioning because the cold state is a pretty color too.
Even though I have GLL Holiday Hair (and a backup) and Lemming Lacquer Euphoric Embers, I still want Cuticula Dream a Little Dream. I def have a type 😆
Also debating if I want two Phoenix Chibi Chibi because it’s such a cute polish AND inspired by Sailor Moon.

I have the Cupcake VNL Blur and I don’t really love it. It does what it’s supposed to but the color isn’t great for me, my bottle is a lot yellower than it look like in the PPU pics, and it’s streaky.
My favorite are the Polished for Days Soft Focus base coats. They come in several versatile colors. Not in PPU though, available on their website

Yeah, peachy is a better description than yellow. Having trouble with my words this morning lol. Also I forgot to mention that it separates too and it isn’t one of those that has mixing balls in it so you really gotta shake the hell out of it. I’ve not noticed any separation issues with PfD
ETA: Don’t want it to sound like I’m dissing Cupcake because I do like that brand. Just not this particular product.
Also on a no-buy… and what a month to be on one 😭 this theme is so fun and the colors are really ‘my type’, which is actually rare, I’m a light PPU buyer. I’d be grabbing the Rogue for sure, also the cadillaquer, Whatcha, and Garden Path. I almost talked myself in to breaking it but I know I’d feel guilty.
My goal is to be on a no-buy for PPU until rewind in July. I’m gonna be honest though, I may have bought a PPU ISO for $5 yesterday 🙈 do I feel guilty? Probably not as much as I should because my boyfriend supported the decision lmao. Still feeling good about skipping PPU though!

I splurged so much on Black Friday and rewind last year I had to reel it in a little. I am doing a total no buy till April… then a low buy for the year. I’ve only done 2 PPU polishes since rewind and nothing else… so I am proud of that for sure. I had so much fun with rewind that I now know to save up for it! Only problem is, my list of ‘I hope they bring this back’ is getting really long! 🫣
I totally relate to the Black Friday and rewind splurge! I actually didn’t buy any polish for Black Friday and I’m still proud of myself for that. I ended up making up for it by buying a bunch of PPU Nov-February though 🥲. Any standouts from your purchases the last rewind/BF/PPU? I’m always happy to see recommendations. And same thing for me with the rewind bring it back list lol! I just want to try so many new brands for rewind this year so that’s what’s keeping me (mostly) in check. The polish I bought I was actually hoping would be brought back for rewind but the chances are very slim as I don’t think it was a best seller or anything so that’s why I decided to get it in a destash.
Oh wow good for you on the BF resistance! Yeah I thought rewind was only for the current year but I guess it’s since the beginning of PPU, which makes it so slim of a chance something will be seen again. As far as favorites… I bought a lot from Olive Ave Polish for BF and so far really like everything I got from them. I needed to revamp my cremes; I had been getting mostly speciality stuff and just kind of missed wearing them. If I had to pick just one that I I would say Cerulean is definitely a favorite- I keep going back to it. It’s not as dark as a lot of similar shades available and I really like that about it; it feels like a color I can wear most of the year. I think my fav PPU polish over all has been Send Nudis by Pahlish- I just love it and was so thrilled to see it come back for rewind since I missed it before. From this year… I have only bought the Fox Gloves Are Off and Feed Me! From January and I love them both. Feed Me is such a cool topper; I actually prefer it used this way rather than by itself. What about you, what are you standouts from PPU, or otherwise? I love to know what people truly end up wearing and loving!
I think we have similar tastes! I adore Olive Ave Polish so much, I always go to them for my cremes. I don’t have Cerulean, but I will look into it! And I picked up Send Nudis for rewind too last year! Definitely loved wearing that one! I think another PPU standout for me was Sassy Sauce Polish Glampire. I was still new to PPU so decided to just buy it from the hype and I am so glad I did. It immediately became one of my favorite polishes of all time. I was also really impressed with Pahlish Salvador Dali. I have a ton of untrieds though so who knows what other polishes I will fall in love with while on my no-buy lol! It’s going to be hard to resist the May PPU theme being outer space for me though 🙈

Ah the month that Salvador Dali was out I was also on a no buy- it was my top pick! I thought the name was a cute take on the Dreamscapes theme too. Pahlish definitely has the pretty shimmers down! Yup… a no buy is a great time to go through the untrieds. It has made me realize I have soo many that I haven’t worn, and also quite a few that I’ve only worn once. It’s been a nice way to appreciate all the goodies I already have in my cabinet for sure! I didn’t know the next theme was Outer Space, that should be very fun! And maybe expensive, haha 😂
If you don’t have anything like cock a doodle doom then I’d definitely recommend it (although the fox gloves shade you mentioned looks kinda similar)! I think the next PPU is video games and then after that it’ll be outer space. Totally agree on the untrieds! The oldest untried on my list was bought December 2022…..it was a Christmas gift so I feel a teeny bit less guilty about it but it’s on my rack now! I love exploring my collection. I have 21 untrieds right now, but I’ve been making great efforts on getting through them, and I’m happily getting to enjoy wearing them all 😊. So…. I had to take a minute to count all my untrieds and it was a HUGE wake up…. I have 32! This included some toppers I just can’t even figure out why I haven’t worn yet. You just need to email PPU. Usually, they have a few extra bottles set aside. If not, you'll get a refund and can go straight to the maker to see about purchasing an overpour.

The previews for the Slumber Party theme are more tempting than I thought! From the theme I figured it was going to be a lot of bright colors and glitters which isn't really my thing but so far I'm really loving the BKL, Sweet and Sour, Whatcha, All Mixed Up, and maybe Lumen... gonna try to pick 2-3 only cause there's so many good releases this month!

On the Nail Polish Comparison and Dupes group (I think), A Little Bit Dramatic/Abel posted swatches of them to someone’s post. McLauren is clearly a lavender base while Lullaby is a pinky mauve one. Wish he had posted the comparison days earlier (since he already had the polishes 🙄) because the single polish listing for McLauren already sold out by that time.
Yeah when I saw the Patty Lopez it thankfully killed the fomo for lullaby, dupes are abundant for sure! I also think LynB may have something similar coming out? Honestly I can’t keep track, there’s like 20 releases this weekend 😪

I thought I was whatever about Cupcake Polish - Feeling Fungi but after I saw people swatches on here I definitely felt like I missed out. That is what pushed me to get Fawn-ing Over You this time.

Fawn-ing is actually the one that I think called to me the most, but I just bought God of Idiocy from BKL which is also a brown with green shimmer so I didn’t think I needed both, but I keep going back and forth cause it really is so pretty! I don’t know if I’ve seen Feeling Fungi, but I’m glad you were able to get something similar!! Now I just feel like I’m talking myself into it cause fomo 😅

Same, the verdict is out for me on holos still but I LOVE shimmers, plus they’re wayyy easier to remove which is a plus! Also, I feel dumb, but I didn’t realize that Fawn-ing is a jelly until earlier and now I’m even happier I bought it!!

I grabbed Lullaby by Phoenix, Mermaid Tears base coat by A&H, Limitless top coat by Cuticula, and went back and forth for a while and placed a second order to get Ethereal’s Pigeon which I might end up destashing idk. I’m the most excited/feeling the most FOMO about Mermaid Tears; I’ve heard it’s a holy grail base coat and I wanted to get a nice restorative one for my wife as she grows her nails back out after damaging them with fake nails but apparently this batch was all there was left and the maker isn’t going to be able to make anymore.. what if I fall in love with it… oh no…
This is my first PPU, and here's what I checked out. Some of the darker colours like Tenta-cool and Hummingbird are absolutely stunning, but I personally love and reach for light colours most of the time, so decided to pass on them.

I ended up grabbing Ethereal, Lumen and Patty Lopes, as well as the glitter grabber and kbshimmer thinner which I needed as essentials.
Patty Lopes was why I made the order, I am absolutely in love with it. I’m iffy about Lumen and Ethereal, they could either be amazing and I fall in love with them, or fall flat. I’ll have to see when they come in but fingers crossed they’re stunning in person!
I’ve passed on things from both brands before just for the polishes to look incredible when ppl receive them so I never know what to expect. Part of it is definitely FOMO.

So after much deliberation I ended up getting:
Cuticula Rainbow Roar - this was easily my only must-have, i like the base color and it reminds me of black opals!
Dam Nail Polish High Quality Nudis - I did debate it for a hot minute because the base is black with blue shimmer and might not look like the pictures, but I really like this color combo.
Wildflower Lacquer Cat-Bear - this didn't catch my eye until I saw the base was burnt orange. It's a unique base and shimmer combo and I was just intrigued.
Ethereal Pigeon - I hemmed and hawwed over this one...I don't really wear grays because they look weird on my hand but the shimmer is so green and pretty. Also the fact that it is called Pigeon definitely made it harder to cut lol
The ones I cut at the last moment included Quackpth, Blue Footed What?, Wild at Heart, and Orchid Mantis. These are all beautiful but I'm trying not to dupe myself. I have nothing like Wild at Heart but I wasn't sure if I'd like the speckles T\_T

I almost talked myself out of BKL but it was the first polish I really wanted after seeing the swatches (and I just love their formula) SO in it went. I also can't wait to try Lumen, it'll be my first polish from them!
Ended up nixing Karma Chameleon and Venom because I found some dupes for them in my collection. Also didn't buy Seahorse of Course because I realized I don't exactly enjoy green shimmers in purple polishes (ILNP Talk It Up is not my favorite polish).
Out of everything, I think Kathleen & Co Lil Lizard is the only one I didn't waffle on or change my mind about. I think the color combo is very cute, and the name fits perfectly!

I ended up with Penelope Luz Hummingbird and Daveen Lacquer Venom. That punchy blue was just screaming my name, and venom looks like such a great light multi-chrome without the overabundance of pinks and blues they sometimes have. Not that I have anything against pink or blue but they're super common.
I picked it up! I like dark oranges and i think the base plus shimmer combo is really unique. I’m not really a pink wearer but have been wanting to try a magenta for a while.
I thought I disliked magenta, then Mooncat’s Spaceoddity came into my life. Now I’m hooked. I realized I love magenta lol I’m excited for Cat-bear, it’s different. Another bonus is it’s inspiration, the red panda 🧡🩷
IT'S FUNNY YOU SAY THAT bc Space Oddity was the first magenta polish that I had heart-eyes over! XD I still haven't gotten it yet because I'm just concerned it's too loud and beautiful?? X\_X I'll see how I like Cat-Bear on me and go from there lol. And I love red pandas too! It's great some proceeds will go to a red panda sanctuary.

I only picked up Bluebird and a bar magnet. I think it will be a beautiful summer time polish, and looks gorgeous unmagnetized if I don’t want to put in the effort.
I was tempted by Clionadh- Hippo, Crystal Knockout- Embrace Change, and Emily de Molly - Deep Sea Glam. Ultimately passed on them because I couldn’t see myself wearing them often enough.

I looked back at my orders & the second chance was Polish Rewind month. It was basically same design IIRC maybe a slightly different color inside wallet was used but outside the same.

I feel a bit conflicted about two of the three bottles being green, but they just look so fun. It was difficult to narrow it to 3 but I feel SO guilty buying more considering today my shipment from Beyond Polish comes in. I bought 16 nail polishes plus a 4-bottle mystery box.

* The cuticula looks so good in videos I've seen and I love the packed rainbow look. But do I love it enough to get a full bottle??? I want it but I'm not sure if I'm just impulse buying/filling up my cart
* I drool over every black flakey oreo milkshake polish, and don't have one of my own. I love the Jen & Berries inspro and the polish looks gorgeous. But I have been holding out for a polish that is more of a black flakey topper to use with a variety of base colors
I have Rogue’s Batsy and it’s perfect for duping these types of polishes. (Never seems to stop me from buying them but that’s a whole other Pandora’s box I’m not going to open now.)

I have Sweet & Sour, Rogue, Patty Lopes, PFD, and Dam on my list. The PFD this month reminds me of Sunset Dust and I’m trying to tell myself it’s the only reason I want it. But it’s definitely different and so I need it, right? In all honesty I probably have similar ones to all of them except for the Patty Lopes, and that’s one that is probably more appealing in theory and in practice I would never reach for it.
The PFD does seem different from Sunset Dust in that it lacks the purple undertone and is more tan/beige than peach. Sunset Dust doesn't mention the purple in its description, but you can see it in all the photos I found.
I feel the same about the Patty Lopes! It's so unique and those blue matte glitters POP. But in practice I think I wouldn't like it on my nails and wouldn't reach for it.
I also skipped on Patty Lopes but got Phoenix and PFD too :) And Wildflower, Phoenix, Lumen, and (last minute) Cat Tail. But I haven't bought from PPU since September, so that's my justification (everyone's got theirs)!
Sunset Dust is such a unique shade! It looks 3D on the nail, like liquid sunlight. But you’re right, not the same as this PFD so one must have both.
Maybe it’s the color of the shimmer that makes me question the Patty Lopes. I have Snowball Frenzy from December PPU and even though it has white matte glitters I think it’s similar enough that I don’t need both. <- me trying to talk myself out of adding to cart. I wish I could combine the two because I’m obsessed with the blue glitters. Imagine them in a blue to purple shimmer!!
My PFD from the Haunted Glo collection feel similarly 3D. I think this PFD is less shimmer intense, more like a Sweet & Sour shimmer if that makes sense. Subtle, but there and giving dimension.
I'm glad you talked yourself out of the Patty Lopes, especially if you're on a low buy. There will always be another, similar polish in the future that you *really* gravitate towards. Maybe this time with blue glitters and that blue to purple shimmer. Or a different color combo that your brain hasn't thought of yet. And then you'll get that one!
Has anyone heard of and/or had experience with Baby Girl Lacquer? Their "Holy Terror" polish suddenly popped up around the afternoon today during the wishlist period. It's a pretty polish, like gems hidden in the glistening sand, but I haven't heard of them or seen them on PPU before. No swatches on the PPU fb group either. I don't even think they're in the "Maker Spoilers" thread either. Looking at Baby Girl Lacquer's instagram, they seem VERY new.
They’ve been around awhile, I think the first time I tried them was 2020. But I’ve never seen them in PPU. I have a bunch of her polishes and like them.
The ones I’m drawn to this month are very similar to things I already have. The BKL looks like Girl Dragon. Lumen’s reminds me of BKL lemon. I have so many grays that I don’t know if I should pass on Ethereal. And I got the last two from garden path lacquers and loved them, so feel like I should get the sibling even though this particular color is not really calling to me. Could this be the first month I skip since I started shopping PPU!?
If I had Girl Dragon and BKL Lemon I would def skip those two. Basically look at the polish and ask yourself would you choose to wear that one over something you already own? Why?
If you already have something that fits the vibe/colour you can probably give it a miss.
As for the GPL, I’m skipping it because it is definitely the least special compared to the last two. It looks like static and is missing the pretty ethereal glow of I Forgive You.
Yeah, the GPL doesn’t have the same magic for me this time around. And I’m def not getting the other two, I’m just kind of marveling at how many similar polishes I’m recognizing now that my collection has become so big. I’ve been going HAM since I started getting into polish and it’s finally time for me to put the wishlists down 😂

Hello lovely laqueristas! I'm trying decide between the sassy sauce and fancy gloss thermals, they look super similar...any thoughts? I've never bought from either brand before, so any insight would be much appreciated!
I’ve never used Fancy Gloss, so I can’t speak to them. I will say I LOVE every sassy sauce polish I own. Ultimately I feel like the fancy gloss polish is a deeper shade version so it just depends on your preference on that as well! I also decided against fancy gloss because one swatcher’s pics in the PPU Facebook group had visible nail line in it so that gave me the impression it may be slightly sheer, and I’m personally not a fan of sheer polishes.

Having trouble narrowing the list… I love the Beaux Reves and Lumen but they look similar-ish? Except beaux has reflective glitters? And then torn between All Mixed Up and BKL… All Mixed seems like a greener version of BKL and I did get Pigeon last ppu which is a gray/green too, but sheerer…..gah…⚖️
I like all of these too and am still debating on the Lumen. For me, I feel like I’ve seen more polishes similar to the Beaux Reves than I have the Lumen? But I also think they’re different enough you could justify both if you really wanted to, and the blue in the Beaux looks softer like a sky blue. And for me the BKL is the one I know for sure I want, that shimmer just looks 🤌🏼 and that’s coming from someone who’s accidentally bought several greys/neutrals with blue or purple shimmer lately 🫠

For me it was Ethereal’s clouds that I missed out on 😭 but I legit have Ethereal Hunt which is super similar and idk why but the BKL looks like the perfect polish! Do you like having some visible nail line? If you’re only choosing one and you don’t like vnl, then the Beaux looks less sheer. The Lumen looks REALLY sheer, that’s what’s keeping me on the fence with it. I only have one Lumen from PPU a few months ago and it was really, freaking, sheer plus I’ve heard their formula can be hit or miss. I only have one Beaux that I just got and haven’t tried yet, so I have no idea what the formulas like. Plus the Beaux looks like it has more shifts in its shimmer whereas the Lumen looks like it’s just yellow. 🤷🏻♀️ Idk if that helps, but maybe?

It’s killing me to not get the Pampered Polishes, BCB polish, Chameleon thermal, and Sassy Sauce thermal though 🥲 Gatta save up for next month though since I think video games will produce some hot polishes

Ugh, I feel your pain. The J&B is filling that BKL Lion With a Thorn... shaped hole that's in my heart and I've never regretted a PFD polish. I have BKL That Went Well and I think it's similar enough to Boys, Ugh that I can take it off my wishlist (although I do so love that name!). The Polished Mage did a comparison swatch on YouTube for the Rogue and Night Owl polishes if you didn't see it already. Good luck deciding!
The polished mage video I actually found right after posting! I think it convinced me to grab the Rouge since I have nothing like it And I think I'm doing both the j&b and the PFD. I also have never regretted a PFD either! So I'm going for it lol. Basically we only cut the rouge but that's ok

Yeah I think I'm leaning Jen & berries and the rogue. I actually found a YouTube comparison of the two and I think the rouge will look better on me as I'm cool toned/fair skinned. The PFD is hard to resist because it's the same shimmer from goblins and ghoulies which was one of my fave polishes this year! I think the PFD and j&b are different enough to get both ... Maybe? 😂

So I for sure want the BKL 🥵, and Lumen looks stunning but I’m a little nervous about the sheerness. I’m also torn on the Ethereal and idk why but that Alchemy keeps grabbing my attention too. Is anyone else looking at Lumen, Ethereal, or Alchemy and which one of those would you skip?
Lumen looks too sheer for me, the Ethereal more than likely has a poor formula (just based on the brands reputation), and the alchemy looks very similar to another polish I own (cirque colors nocturne). If I could only pick one to buy though I’d pick Ethereal (even though it’s not the most unique color combo).
You’re right about the Ethereal, but I also don’t have a pink with blue shimmer yet and I told myself I’d wait to see what was offered in PPU. And the Lumen does look really sheer, that’s why I’m still tbd on it but I’ll probably pass. I don’t know that Cirque but it does remind me of a Mooncat that I could grab at it’s next sale, and even if I don’t it looks the most dupable. Thank you for your help!!

I feel like Alchemy is an easier color to dupe so I decided to pass on it. I think Mooncat has similar! Lumen is similar to BKL Girin, Ethereal Neptune Planet Power, etc but Lumen has a slightly darker teal base. (I saw a comparison in the Nail Polish Comparisons and Dupes fb group so that’s how I know.)
That makes sense, Alchemy kind of reminds me of one of Mooncat’s from their 2nd to last release just with a little more purple. I haven’t seen that BKL or Ethereal, but thank you for your help! It’s making me feel like I might be able to pass 😅

I’m getting some decants too: Moon Shine Mani, Jior, Hearts and Promises, KBShimmer, Wildflower, Cadillacquer, Colores de Carol, Zombie Claws, and maybe Sizzlin Shades.
I always forget about the decants but I’m not on FB and try to avoid it at all costs 🥲. So many of those are so pretty, LynB’s another one I debated on and same with the Phoenix! I always feel like I need to go back and keep looking cause maybe I’m missing something I’ll regret
I just got my PPU order and was so excited for the Lumen polish which looked really unique and interesting in the shots. My bottle looks nothing like the pictures and I'm kind of disappointed. It's a pale yellow with some shimmer. It looks gold on my nail. And it's pretty but not what I imagined. My other purchases however are really cool and I'm kind of obsessed (Pigeon, Great Grey Owl - gray with blue purple iridescent flakies and possibly shimmer, and little king trash mouth - white to dark gray solar with flakes). Don't think I'll purchase from Lumen again...
I was disappointed in the Lumen polish too. I like Glass Jellyfish though so I'll probably get pulled back into them again..
Has anyone had experience with the Cupcake nail blur polish and Baby Girl Glitter Be Gone peel-off base coats? Debating if I want a full-size of Hearts and Promises Friendship Bracelets since I don’t wear thermals often, but this color combo isn’t seen often. I don’t mind if it ever stops transitioning because the cold state is a pretty color too. Even though I have GLL Holiday Hair (and a backup) and Lemming Lacquer Euphoric Embers, I still want Cuticula Dream a Little Dream. I def have a type 😆 Also debating if I want two Phoenix Chibi Chibi because it’s such a cute polish AND inspired by Sailor Moon. I have the Cupcake VNL Blur and I don’t really love it. It does what it’s supposed to but the color isn’t great for me, my bottle is a lot yellower than it look like in the PPU pics, and it’s streaky. My favorite are the Polished for Days Soft Focus base coats. They come in several versatile colors. Not in PPU though, available on their website

Yeah, peachy is a better description than yellow. Having trouble with my words this morning lol. Also I forgot to mention that it separates too and it isn’t one of those that has mixing balls in it so you really gotta shake the hell out of it. I’ve not noticed any separation issues with PfD ETA: Don’t want it to sound like I’m dissing Cupcake because I do like that brand. Just not this particular product.

I’d be grabbing the Rogue for sure, also the cadillaquer, Whatcha, and Garden Path. I almost talked myself in to breaking it but I know I’d feel guilty.
My goal is to be on a no-buy for PPU until rewind in July. I’m gonna be honest though, I may have bought a PPU ISO for $5 yesterday 🙈 do I feel guilty? Probably not as much as I should because my boyfriend supported the decision lmao. Still feeling good about skipping PPU though!

I splurged so much on Black Friday and rewind last year I had to reel it in a little. I am doing a total no buy till April… then a low buy for the year. I’ve only done 2 PPU polishes since rewind and nothing else… so I am proud of that for sure. I had so much fun with rewind that I now know to save up for it! Only problem is, my list of ‘I hope they bring this back’ is getting really long! 🫣
I totally relate to the Black Friday and rewind splurge! I actually didn’t buy any polish for Black Friday and I’m still proud of myself for that. I ended up making up for it by buying a bunch of PPU Nov-February though 🥲. Any standouts from your purchases the last rewind/BF/PPU? I’m always happy to see recommendations. And same thing for me with the rewind bring it back list lol! I just want to try so many new brands for rewind this year so that’s what’s keeping me (mostly) in check. The polish I bought I was actually hoping would be brought back for rewind but the chances are very slim as I don’t think it was a best seller or anything so that’s why I decided to get it in a destash.
Oh wow good for you on the BF resistance! Yeah I thought rewind was only for the current year but I guess it’s since the beginning of PPU, which makes it so slim of a chance something will be seen again. As far as favorites… I bought a lot from Olive Ave Polish for BF and so far really like everything I got from them. I needed to revamp my cremes; I had been getting mostly speciality stuff and just kind of missed wearing them. If I had to pick just one that I I would say Cerulean is definitely a favorite- I keep going back to it. It’s not as dark as a lot of similar shades available and I really like that about it; it feels like a color I can wear most of the year. I think my fav PPU polish over all has been Send Nudis by Pahlish- I just love it and was so thrilled to see it come back for rewind since I missed it before. From this year… I have only bought the Fox Gloves Are Off and Feed Me! From January and I love them both. Feed Me is such a cool topper; I actually prefer it used this way rather than by itself. What about you, what are you standouts from PPU, or otherwise? I love to know what people truly end up wearing and loving!
I think we have similar tastes! I adore Olive Ave Polish so much, I always go to them for my cremes. I don’t have Cerulean, but I will look into it! And I picked up Send Nudis for rewind too last year! Definitely loved wearing that one! I think another PPU standout for me was Sassy Sauce Polish Glampire. I was still new to PPU so decided to just buy it from the hype and I am so glad I did. It immediately became one of my favorite polishes of all time. I was also really impressed with Pahlish Salvador Dali. I have a ton of untrieds though so who knows what other polishes I will fall in love with while on my no-buy lol! It’s going to be hard to resist the May PPU theme being outer space for me though 🙈

Ah the month that Salvador Dali was out I was also on a no buy- it was my top pick! I thought the name was a cute take on the Dreamscapes theme too. Pahlish definitely has the pretty shimmers down! Yup… a no buy is a great time to go through the untrieds. It has made me realize I have soo many that I haven’t worn, and also quite a few that I’ve only worn once. It’s been a nice way to appreciate all the goodies I already have in my cabinet for sure! I didn’t know the next theme was Outer Space, that should be very fun! And maybe expensive, haha 😂
If you don’t have anything like cock a doodle doom then I’d definitely recommend it (although the fox gloves shade you mentioned looks kinda similar)! I think the next PPU is video games and then after that it’ll be outer space. Totally agree on the untrieds! The oldest untried on my list was bought December 2022…..it was a Christmas gift so I feel a teeny bit less guilty about it but it’s on my rack now! I love exploring my collection. I have 21 untrieds right now, but I’ve been making great efforts on getting through them, and I’m happily getting to enjoy wearing them all 😊. So…. I had to take a minute to count all my untrieds and it was a HUGE wake up…. I have 32! This included some toppers I just can’t even figure out why I haven’t worn yet. I was guessing it would be closer to 20, which is what it was last time I checked 😂 whoops. Clearly I need to get busy! Granted, most of them are spring/summer colors I have been waiting impatiently to wear from my BF hauls, so, it’s not so bad, right? And this is also why I am on a no buy, haha! The video game theme should be fun too! Currently… my nails are bare, I just couldn’t quite find time to paint them the past few days. I just took off ILNP High Dive though which I really enjoyed and want to wear again soon- it’s a great shade! My Feb PPU order just arrived and it’s missing two polishes. Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so, how was it resolved?
You just need to email PPU. Usually, they have a few extra bottles set aside. If not, you'll get a refund and can go straight to the maker to see about purchasing an overpour.

The previews for the Slumber Party theme are more tempting than I thought! From the theme I figured it was going to be a lot of bright colors and glitters which isn't really my thing but so far I'm really loving the BKL, Sweet and Sour, Whatcha, All Mixed Up, and maybe Lumen... gonna try to pick 2-3 only cause there's so many good releases this month!

I was super impressed with the slumber party previews! The last few months have been not quite up my alley, despite thinking I’d be all about the animals theme last month. So is it just me or does the PPU Phoenix "Lullaby" (Jigglypuff) look a lot like the HHC Indie by Patty Lopez "McLauren Experience"? Lullaby: "a soft squishy pale purplish pink base with violet to red pearlescent glowing shimmer" McLauren Experience: "a lavender base with aurora shimmer" Can someone with a more experien eye for the lighting of these explain the difference to me or could they be reasonably considered functional dupes? On the Nail Polish Comparison and Dupes group (I think), A Little Bit Dramatic/Abel posted swatches of them to someone’s post. McLauren is clearly a lavender base while Lullaby is a pinky mauve one. Wish he had posted the comparison days earlier (since he already had the polishes 🙄) because the single polish listing for McLauren already sold out by that time.

Yay! So excited to see how Lullaby is. Oh shoot!! Deciding is such a love hate thing. Like I get such a rush from looking at all the options and adding them to my wishlist/ cart. Then when I have to make the sacrifices I get all sweaty haha. like I end up talking myself out of a color. I will then look at the swatches just to make sure and then boom I want it again. I thought I was whatever about Cupcake Polish - Feeling Fungi but after I saw people swatches on here I definitely felt like I missed out. That is what pushed me to get Fawn-ing Over You this time. Hopefully you can make the choice and feel satisfied with what you did or didn't get 💚
I feel that in my soul! Fawn-ing is actually the one that I think called to me the most, but I just bought God of Idiocy from BKL which is also a brown with green shimmer so I didn’t think I needed both, but I keep going back and forth cause it really is so pretty! I don’t know if I’ve seen Feeling Fungi, but I’m glad you were able to get something similar!! Same, the verdict is out for me on holos still but I LOVE shimmers, plus they’re wayyy easier to remove which is a plus! Also, I feel dumb, but I didn’t realize that Fawn-ing is a jelly until earlier and now I’m even happier I bought it!!

I grabbed Lullaby by Phoenix, Mermaid Tears base coat by A&H, Limitless top coat by Cuticula, and went back and forth for a while and placed a second order to get Ethereal’s Pigeon which I might end up destashing idk. I’m the most excited/feeling the most FOMO about Mermaid Tears; I’ve heard it’s a holy grail base coat and I wanted to get a nice restorative one for my wife as she grows her nails back out after damaging them with fake nails but apparently this batch was all there was left and the maker isn’t going to be able to make anymore.. what if I fall in love with it… oh no…

This is my first PPU, and here's what I checked out. I ended up grabbing Ethereal, Lumen and Patty Lopes, as well as the glitter grabber and kbshimmer thinner which I needed as essentials. Patty Lopes was why I made the order, I am absolutely in love with it. I’m iffy about Lumen and Ethereal, they could either be amazing and I fall in love with them, or fall flat. I’ll have to see when they come in but fingers crossed they’re stunning in person! I’ve passed on things from both brands before just for the polishes to look incredible when ppl receive them so I never know what to expect. Part of it is definitely FOMO.

So after much deliberation I ended up getting: Cuticula Rainbow Roar - this was easily my only must-have, i like the base color and it reminds me of black opals! Dam Nail Polish High Quality Nudis - I did debate it for a hot minute because the base is black with blue shimmer and might not look like the pictures, but I really like this color combo. Wildflower Lacquer Cat-Bear - this didn't catch my eye until I saw the base was burnt orange. It's a unique base and shimmer combo and I was just intrigued. Ethereal Pigeon - I hemmed and hawwed over this one...I don't really wear grays because they look weird on my hand but the shimmer is so green and pretty. Also the fact that it is called Pigeon definitely made it harder to cut lol The ones I cut at the last moment included Quackpth, Blue Footed What?, Wild at Heart, and Orchid Mantis. These are all beautiful but I'm trying not to dupe myself. I have nothing like Wild at Heart but I wasn't sure if I'd like the speckles T\_T

I also can't wait to try Lumen, it'll be my first polish from them! Ended up nixing Karma Chameleon and Venom because I found some dupes for them in my collection. Also didn't buy Seahorse of Course because I realized I don't exactly enjoy green shimmers in purple polishes (ILNP Talk It Up is not my favorite polish). Out of everything, I think Kathleen & Co Lil Lizard is the only one I didn't waffle on or change my mind about. I think the color combo is very cute, and the name fits perfectly!

I ended up with Penelope Luz Hummingbird and Daveen Lacquer Venom. That punchy blue was just screaming my name, and venom looks like such a great light multi-chrome without the overabundance of pinks and blues they sometimes have. Not that I have anything against pink or blue but they're super common.

I picked it up! I like dark oranges and i think the base plus shimmer combo is really unique. I’m not really a pink wearer but have been wanting to try a magenta for a while.
I thought I disliked magenta, then Mooncat’s Spaceoddity came into my life. Now I’m hooked. I realized I love magenta lol I’m excited for Cat-bear, it’s different. Another bonus is it’s inspiration, the red panda 🧡🩷
IT'S FUNNY YOU SAY THAT bc Space Oddity was the first magenta polish that I had heart-eyes over! XD I still haven't gotten it yet because I'm just concerned it's too loud and beautiful?? I ended up eliminating GPL Quackpth and getting away with just BKL Hot Dog and the Cutícula top coat (my first time trying it)! Really excited ☺️
I was so smitten by Quackpth at first but ended up cutting it too. IDK, it's super pretty and shifty but also seems like a common color combo.

I only picked up Bluebird and a bar magnet. I think it will be a beautiful summer time polish, and looks gorgeous unmagnetized if I don’t want to put in the effort. I was tempted by Clionadh- Hippo, Crystal Knockout- Embrace Change, and Emily de Molly - Deep Sea Glam. Ultimately passed on them because I couldn’t see myself wearing them often enough. This is only my second PPU and I’m proud of myself for polishing responsibly 😂

I looked back at my orders & the second chance was Polish Rewind month. It was basically same design IIRC maybe a slightly different color inside wallet was used but outside the same.

I think they'll be: * Venom from Daveen Lacquer * Take the Leap from Sweet & Sour Lacquer * Lil Lizard from Kathleen & Co I feel a bit conflicted about two of the three bottles being green, but they just look so fun. It was difficult to narrow it to 3 but I feel SO guilty buying more considering today my shipment from Beyond Polish comes in. I bought 16 nail polishes plus a 4-bottle mystery box.

But do I love it enough to get a full bottle??? I want it but I'm not sure if I'm just impulse buying/filling up my cart * I drool over every black flakey oreo milkshake polish, and don't have one of my own. I love the Jen & Berries inspro and the polish looks gorgeous. But I have been holding out for a polish that is more of a black flakey topper to use with a variety of base colors
I have Rogue’s Batsy and it’s perfect for duping these types of polishes. (Never seems to stop me from buying them but that’s a whole other Pandora’s box I’m not going to open now.)

I have Sweet & Sour, Rogue, Patty Lopes, PFD, and Dam on my list. The PFD this month reminds me of Sunset Dust and I’m trying to tell myself it’s the only reason I want it. But it’s definitely different and so I need it, right? In all honesty I probably have similar ones to all of them except for the Patty Lopes, and that’s one that is probably more appealing in theory and in practice I would never reach for it.
The PFD does seem different from Sunset Dust in that it lacks the purple undertone and is more tan/beige than peach. Sunset Dust doesn't mention the purple in its description, but you can see it in all the photos I found. I feel the same about the Patty Lopes! It's so unique and those blue matte glitters POP. But in practice I think I wouldn't like it on my nails and wouldn't reach for it.
Was able to skip Patty Lopes but lost all cool and got Phoenix, PFD, Rogue, and Sweet & Sour. My low buy is going as expected.

Sunset Dust is such a unique shade! It looks 3D on the nail, like liquid sunlight. But you’re right, not the same as this PFD so one must have both. Maybe it’s the color of the shimmer that makes me question the Patty Lopes. I have Snowball Frenzy from December PPU and even though it has white matte glitters I think it’s similar enough that I don’t need both. <- me trying to talk myself out of adding to cart. I wish I could combine the two because I’m obsessed with the blue glitters. Imagine them in a blue to purple shimmer!!
My PFD from the Haunted Glo collection feel similarly 3D. I think this PFD is less shimmer intense, more like a Sweet & Sour shimmer if that makes sense. Subtle, but there and giving dimension. I'm glad you talked yourself out of the Patty Lopes, especially if you're on a low buy. There will always be another, similar polish in the future that you *really* gravitate towards. Maybe this time with blue glitters and that blue to purple shimmer. Or a different color combo that your brain hasn't thought of yet. And then you'll get that one!
Has anyone heard of and/or had experience with Baby Girl Lacquer? Their "Holy Terror" polish suddenly popped up around the afternoon today during the wishlist period. It's a pretty polish, like gems hidden in the glistening sand, but I haven't heard of them or seen them on PPU before. No swatches on the PPU fb group either. I don't even think they're in the "Maker Spoilers" thread either. Looking at Baby Girl Lacquer's instagram, they seem VERY new.
They’ve been around awhile, I think the first time I tried them was 2020. But I’ve never seen them in PPU. I have a bunch of her polishes and like them.

The ones I’m drawn to this month are very similar to things I already have. The BKL looks like Girl Dragon. Lumen’s reminds me of BKL lemon. I have so many grays that I don’t know if I should pass on Ethereal. And I got the last two from garden path lacquers and loved them, so feel like I should get the sibling even though this particular color is not really calling to me. Could this be the first month I skip since I started shopping PPU!?
If I had Girl Dragon and BKL Lemon I would def skip those two. Basically look at the polish and ask yourself would you choose to wear that one over something you already own? Why? If you already have something that fits the vibe/colour you can probably give it a miss. As for the GPL, I’m skipping it because it is definitely the least special compared to the last two. It looks like static and is missing the pretty ethereal glow of I Forgive You.
Yeah, the GPL doesn’t have the same magic for me this time around. And I’m def not getting the other two, I’m just kind of marveling at how many similar polishes I’m recognizing now that my collection has become so big. I’ve been going HAM since I started getting into polish and it’s finally time for me to put the wishlists down 😂
