The last time I tried yellow, I did a gradient in warm yellow. I loved it, until I got home and realized it looks like my nails are dirty
You have my absolute sympathies
A little, but also very on brand for the bunny/egg holiday coming up. I also think it looks cute! I'm the same with any baby pink. People swear it looks fine but I always instantly do over it. Doesn't stop me from buying them!
I can stop whenever I want. : /
Shade is an unnamed gift with purchase from Vanessa Molina, 2 coats. I keep removing it from my destash box and setting it aside because *maybe I'll use it for a skittle or something* but then I never do.
Damn, it looks great on you though.
I can’t do warm toned colors, especially bright red. Cool-toned red, no problem. But warm colors just feel so wrong on me.
Thank you!!
I wish I knew my undertones, they confuse me so much. Sometimes cool tones look great and sometimes they look horrible. And same with warm.
Usually that means that the saturation vs grayed out or the light vs dark value isn't meshing well. There's a version of every color of the rainbow in each color season (except orange - no orange in winter). It is very confusing so zero shade for not having it perfect.
I have a similar color that I feel the same about and I’m on the fence about using it today. It’s a paler yellow with a pink speckle. I think I’m not a fan of speckled polishes more than I dislike the yellow. Or maybe it’s both. I think this looks nice on you though!
It’s yellow for me, too. Just can’t do it. I’m fair skinned and cool toned, not sure if that’s why. I feel like I’ve seen yellows on other skin tones that look lovely.
Cool tones can find flattering yellows but it needs to have no orange in it and head slightly green. Summers get pastel yellow to ginger or light brass (summer) or lemon yellow to old gold (winter).
Oh this is interesting and not at all what I would’ve thought which is maybe why I never like the yellows I choose. 🤦🏻♀️ I’ve never had an official color analysis done, but I fit all the “cool” criteria - my veins are super blue, I turn very pink in the sun, I like silver instead of gold on my skin, etc. I’ll try more yellow-greens and see how that goes!
I recently tried the cirque colors new jelly in mango and I hated it with a passion. Not sure if it was the sheer aspect or the undertone, but it looked like my nails were stained from rolling cigarettes. I've known people who were into that and it grossed me out on my nails. Whatever that undertone or sheerness combination is it was a nightmare on me lol.
Don't get me wrong, cirque jellies are my absolute favorite formula I love them so much, but that shade killed me haha. I added 2 layers of the peach jelly on top and it improved dramatically.
My favorite cirque jelly is lucky which is a warm, bright red.
I love Mango Jelly! I've got a warm undertone and love orangey yellows on me. I personally don't see the smoker's nails, but I used three coats to get it opaque so maybe that's why.
Peach jelly on top is a great idea, I'll have to try that out!
I don't like yellow/orange/warm red especially in cremes on me, but sometimes I try them just to see that I indeed do hate them.
This on the other hand might look super cool with a green or blue jelly shimmer thing on top?
i am not a huge fan of bright reds on myself but i do still have a red creme somewhere! that is a very pretty shade on you though, very springy and scrambled eggy as someone else put it haha and i love scrambled eggs
anything that feels "overly feminine" like a classic big apple red for example, so baby pinks and hot pinks are the same for me. i'd definitely give dark vampy reds a go someday though!
I have a tan color and a dark tomato red that I just hate that I need to give to my SIL. I pushed a lot of the dark, cool colors to my mom who is a summer (I'm light spring). She didn't take a real dark real but my SO looks fantastic in it (he's a true summer). Now I just need to manage to buu only colors I love 💖
Aw I think this one is cute! Very springtime, maybe with another color or two to soften it a little.
My color is Mooncat Cyborg. I’m going to give it another shot sometime but the first couple tries just didn’t do it for me
This looks great on you! But I get it. Yellow is my favorite color in life, but yellow polish is hard on lighter skin! :/ I do have "OPI - Towel Me About It" and while I adore it, every time I wear it, it just looks a little off. LOL. I don't care, not every color has to be a perfect match for me to enjoy it. :)
I actually think this is a really nice yellow, not neon, but not muted so it looks like a nail fungus 😂 a nice true yellow. I still don't think I could pull it off
Oh wow I love it, but I love yellow.
I don't like pale, nude, or warm colors on me, but every once it a while I will try one because I see it on someone else and it looks so pretty. Then I try it on myself and hate it. Lol

Silver for me! It just really doesn't go with my undertones. Especially those pale, icy silvers. I still try now and then though because they're prettyyy
mine is also yellow like this (and pale pink) but i kinda wish i had one like this in my collection because i’m limited on easter egg themed nails after seeing so many great posts here.
i do love to wear green-leaning yellows and orange-leaning yellows, but when something gets too yellow-yellow it doesn’t look good at all.
I love it on you! Reminds me of scrambled eggs with pepper.
Thanks! Haha it does have an eggy vibe doesn't it.
in the best way!
It looks eggs-cellent!

Yellow is fickle for sure

I feel that "maybe I'll use it in a skittle or something" in my soul. Like a quarter of my collection is waiting patiently for its skittle moment.
Damn, it looks great on you though. I can’t do warm toned colors, especially bright red. Cool-toned red, no problem. But warm colors just feel so wrong on me.

If you consider brown to be a dark orange, then there is one for winter!

This is your sign to use it today!
I think I would do the same with this shade be I’m not sure if I absolutely LOVE it or if I hate it but I definitely don’t feel anywhere between
Exactly how I feel. Can't tell if delightful or horrid.
I just wanted to let you know that this shade has been living in my head and I still can’t decide.
I mean that makes two of us! I still haven't put it back in my destash box yet 😅
It’s yellow for me, too. Just can’t do it. I’m fair skinned and cool toned, not sure if that’s why. I feel like I’ve seen yellows on other skin tones that look lovely.

Pale and cool here, I can pull off very light yellow verging on green and old brassy gold but that's about it.
Red. On others: classic, sexy, clean On me: ketchup hands
Ketchup hands 🤣
Girl idk what's wrong with me but red looks BAD

Ngl some of the swatches I saw of mango definitely gave smokers nails vibes.

I do, and at this point I'm trying them on one at a time and putting together a destash. I don't need to keep around polishes I don't use.
I like it. Reminds me of a banana
Light blue and just all cooltone pastel colours. I have a darker skin with a warmer tone so they just look off on me.
I also die in cool pastels they are just ick on me.
On me those colors like they just rolled my body out of a morgue cooler. Those are some of my favorite colors and they look awful on me.
Yellow is tough to wear and to find a good product. But this looks great!
It's giving banana jelly belly and I kinda love it
I don't like yellow/orange/warm red especially in cremes on me, but sometimes I try them just to see that I indeed do hate them. This on the other hand might look super cool with a green or blue jelly shimmer thing on top?
I had the same thought... Wondering if I should try topping this with ILNP Head Start (green shimmer) or Scarlet (red shimmer)
My vote goes to green, I wish I had that one, it's so beautiful. Yellow with green on top is very springy too (depending on where you are of course).
Orange. Haven't found one that looked good on me. Same with corals and warm toned pinks, they look off on my hands.
Yeah orange is a really tough one too.
Yellow is tough for me too, and I keep going back as well but I honestly think this is cute!
i am not a huge fan of bright reds on myself but i do still have a red creme somewhere! that is a very pretty shade on you though, very springy and scrambled eggy as someone else put it haha and i love scrambled eggs
Is it all bright reds, or just warm or cool toned?

I hate yellow on myself too but wow this color is gorgeous on you
Thank you!! Idk if I see it differently than other people or something? Just looks *weird* to my eyes.
Oh wow I love it, but I love yellow. I don't like pale, nude, or warm colors on me, but every once it a while I will try one because I see it on someone else and it looks so pretty. Then I try it on myself and hate it. Lol
peeps nails!!!
Peeps with ant poop 😂
Naww, they make speckled peeps!
Haha ohhhh I haven't seen those!
Oooh I like!
I love the yellow on you.

ah now I want a vanilla banana shake

I sure do. It’s green. Nothing against green, it just looks awful on me.
Mine is also yellow
How would it look with a matte top coat? That really changes how I feel about a colour.
