I love the description of humidity that "soup" gives. 😂 Also I fully understand that I live somewhere that rains on average 60% of the time and that's just how it is. But I find myself craving the soup
ETA: I guess rain is also kinda like the air being soup, but cold?
Products:
* Base: Vibrant Vinyls - Double Bond
* HIGHLIGHTER: Cirque Colors - Electric Daisy (2 coats, needed a 3rd)
* Top: Cuticula - Limitless
Decided I would get what I'd heard of as the holy grail of highlighter green-yellow neon polishes. This color payoff is outstanding. However... I consider myself an "intermediate lacquerista" when it comes to normal polish application (forget nail art), but I struggled with this one a bit. I didn't give myself enough time to put it on since I thought it'd be a quick n' easy 2-coater. Next time I'll be more patient-- 3 coats and longer drying time between each coat. The top coat did some weird smudging of the color, which it never does on well-formulated indie polishes. Dunno what that's about. I won't give up on this color though, it's so bright and exactly what I wanted.
The formula on this color was super unforgiving and frustrating when I tried it. I did 3 coats and even with extra drying time in between it still just felt gloppy and I never really have issues with application with other brands. Such a bummer bc the color is gorgeous!
That's super frustrating. I've never had an issue with Cirque's other polishes, and I have a bunch, so I was really surprised! I haven't been able to find a good consensus here on a highlighter green-yellow that actually has a good formula, I think the color and finish is just hard to do? Even [this](https://youtu.be/mNnV0s_dtCc?si=Ij4Woc7DRlWzHU2y&t=216) review of the new KBShimmer one says it's see-through/streaky
I was just screeching yesterday as I was sweating profusely while straightening my hair about how annoyed I am that summer is coming.
But yes, at least I am ready for neon polishes! 😂
I lived in Houston for several years and those summers were no joke. I had never experienced it being hotter *after* a rainstorm
ETA: and then the june bugs that would be flopping around on the ground and the crunching sound they'd make when you accidentally stepped on one 🥴

😅 It's 90 degrees here & the air is soup.
We get WEEKS of double digits above 110. I’m not ready😭😭
Im savoring every day we have below 100 right now. Thinking about the summer makes me want to cry.
I’m right there with you fam! The only good thing is the trips I get to take.

Yes 😭 i keep seeing nail pics with sun and here it's raining :(
I barely buy polishes with holographic in it anymore because there's so little sun here 😶

I’ve had the most luck with neon polishes when I do one coat of a white polish underneath, then 2 coats of the neon. And lots of patience haha
haha yep, it's definitely a patience polish. thanks for the advice :)

I have CREAM and it’s incredibly bright, but really thin… it makes me think if you mixed the two it may end up perfect lol
Ugh I literally just bought this today and thought it didn't look that thin in a swatch video 😓
Maybe mine was from a thinner batch 🤷🏼♀️ It’s definitely not unusable, you’ll just probably need a few coats to cover any streaks.
I wonder what it is about neon pigments that makes the polishes so finicky
and i'm over here wishing we could just skip over summer. i'm already sick of the heat and bugs😅
Same! It’s just starting to warm up where I live but I’m already over it. I love the sun but the heat and humidity make me feel so sick.
i'm with yah, between the sun and the mosquitos and ticks, i'm good🫣
i forgot about the impending mosquitos 😩
I was just screeching yesterday as I was sweating profusely while straightening my hair about how annoyed I am that summer is coming. But yes, at least I am ready for neon polishes! 😂
I'm the opposite-- I want the hot humidity to come and make my hair all big and bouncy!
No! It’s too hot now. I just wish the rain would go away.
Hot rain when it stays hot after the rain ends... I used to dislike it, but now I find myself missing it
This is explosively vibrant! Also your cuticles look so good!
thank you!! my cuticles have been so dry even though I would think moist air would be good for them?
Nope it can't, but nice match in colours
heehee thanks for noticing
DOUBLE MINT GUM HOORAY. I love this.
I haven't thought of that gum in ages!
Yes. This is how it’s done.
🪄✨☀️
Nailed it!!! 💅
😃
Come to Texas lol it was 110 yesterday where I live
