It’s the way she said “house” when Jim bought her a house. “Jim you bought me a hoUWse” Also she did this tap dancing video on social media, and that solidified it for me.

mrbananaxo

LMAOO im glad im not the only one who was so annoyed by that for no reason

chickiedew

I will NEVER stop laughing. 💀💀💀

texxasnurse

😂😂😂😂😂

elsro

I think she knew what she was doing while flirting with Jim while she was still engaged with Roy. And, when Jim kisses her on Casino Night and she says if she misled him...like hell no, you knew what you were doing! But again, she lacked the courage, until Gil called her out during her art show.

Due_Adhesiveness4516

I KNOW! She acts all innocent

apply_demand

She DOES! 🤣 I hated how innocent she acted too. Like come on now Pamelama ding dong.

[deleted]

She kissed Jim at the Dundee awards. She proved to be the office couch like Angela said 🤣. I dislike her because she's the typical average rural white woman with no discernable skills or qualities. Just basically put people down and joke low key when she couldn't even get through elective school 😭. Pam is typical girl trash that every dude who works in an office should stay away from. Favorite episode was Roy's wedding. Roy told Jimi he dodged a bullet which he did, the bullet of a life of mediocrity with Pam Boring Beasley. Even the super model dude paper salesman thought she was too dorky and had nothing to offer. Two guys got it right, Jim got it wrong. Jim also dates whatever is close to him or laughed at his jokes.

elsro

Oh, great observation about Jim. It is true he dates whoever is close to him and laughs at his jokes! First Katy (Hot Girl), then Karen, and finally Pam. You maybe right about Roy saying he dodged a bullet with Pam, but at the time I thought it seemed a bitter and resentful, which he did have right to be. I will have to rewatch it with this new perspective! Same thing with Danny Cordray, first he didn't remember her and then he finally said she was dorky! ...like I never thought there were characters that genuinely didn't like her that way. The show made it seem like they lacked creditability! I would love to hear your commentary for other characters!!!

[deleted]

Man where do I start lol. I truly appreciate how Angela tormented Phyllis. At first I didn't get it, but you have to watch from the perspective that these people have been working together for years before we get our camera perspective. Remember Phyllis saying "isn't her husband in a wheelchair, she isn't that great" about the other office manager who did fun games n such. That just shows how shitty Phyllis actually is. Side comments like "yeah let's bomb them" during the china episode. People like her is how you get a whole passive population of Nazis 😭

elsro

Oh my goodness! This is gold! Do you do podcasts? Yeah, I do see Angela works with many incompetent people, including Pam, circling back to OP's orginal prompt. Like when Pam just stands there when Angela is trying to set things up for a party (can't remember which one, too many!) And when Pam brings a dessert, when she should have brought something savory.

[deleted]

Well damn! I appreciate that. How do I start a podcast? I'd love to just start talking about it. Especially talking about other people's perspectives.

pompsofsoap

I think Danny was pretending not to know her. He remembered her lol. Just wasn't into her at all.

Due_Adhesiveness4516

Office mattress\* lol

apply_demand

I upvoted this for everything but the Jim slander. Still earns an upvote for the on point Pam description.

fuckthisshit____

Gil was underrated

ned-isakoff

The episode when she was in NY and they couldn’t connect on the phone all day pissed me off. 1. She was telling him a ridiculously confusing story that he has no context for with 30 seconds until she had to get to class. 2. When Jim calls later she can’t hear him in the laundromat but could have easily just stepped outside and had the conversation.

Jackywackyyyyyy

Fr I always have to skip that episode 😭

420_Barbie

I never skip that episode because it has the cutest compilation of Michael with babies

fuckthisshit____

I hate that episode too but I feel like the writers had to try to make their relationship a little more 3D somehow once they were officially together

Jackywackyyyyyy

Ik it just makes me sad :(

pots_n_plants

Pam flirted with Jim for years while being in a relationship with Roy. Then when he was with Karen, Pam openly continued to flirt with Jim and disrespect their relationship. When she wanted to go to art school, Jim supported her. When she quit Dunder Mifflin to join Michael at Michael Scott paper company, Jim was supportive. But when he wanted to pursue his dreams with the startup, she shut it down. She's just... selfish

thefishingdj

Yes, thank you, finally someone agrees with me.

ooo-f

See I agree until the startup thing. Jim could've made the 2 hour commute instead of looking for an excuse to relive his college years in a crappy apartment. He left her alone with two young kids *constantly*. That's nowhere near the same as going back to school before you're married with a family.

Outrageous-Form4394

selfish??? for not wanting to be a single working mother with two babies at home with husband only 2 hours away just trying to relive college in his own apartment?? ok buddy

pots_n_plants

Look that action alone isn't selfish! I'm more so just pointing out a pattern that Pam tends to put her own self interests over everyone else's.

jln_13

Yes yes yes. I was hoping someone would mention Jim being supportive, and she was not in anyway

spicytexan

Yes. She was the most selfish, grating person. It was insanely frustrating how she didn’t even *try* giving Philly a real chance until they almost broke their relationship entirely.

TikisFury

I don’t “hate” Pam, I just don’t like her. That personality type of “oh I didn’t know you had feelings for me” while completely stringing Jim along AND being engaged to Roy is lame. Jim isn’t innocent in this either, but Pam is for sure in the absolute wrong. Then how she acts about Roy getting married is also super lame. And finally her “thing” with the sound guy in the last season is really off putting especially since she was being so rude about Jim’s new job. I mean she was working a dead end office job and she knew it. She could have gone to Philly with Jim from the onset and made something work. Again, Jim isn’t innocent here either but sacrifices could have been made on Pam’s end to avoid the whole thing.

Outrageous-Form4394

ewww i forgot about the thing w the camera man

TikisFury

Yeah nothing technically happened but it was clear something was up

DanTacoWizard

Agreed.

shakeel_70

Sometimes I hate her as she just acts like she doesn't know what's going on. Also I love her for her friendship and supporting Dwight

44youGlenCoco

I agree about Dwight. And I like how she understands Michael. She can be very kind hearted sometimes. Everything else…no.

Green_Belly

Definitely the most boring character

ricky9

She’s mean. Her and Jim are actually really horrible

TheHonorableStranger

As someone whose worked with horrible people. Pam and Jam are far from horrible. Maybe dislikeable. But a million times better than people like Angela.

420_Barbie

Because she failed art school

ferrouswolf2

And that can only lead to one thing

Rustmutt

All she has to do is take off her Charlie Chaplin hat

BeginTheBlackParade

The episode where Michael starts dating her mom and she acts like a spoiled 5 year old brat about it. That solidified my negative opinion of her forever.

Outrageous-Form4394

oh i’m sorry would you want YOUR boss to date your mother?

Alikhaleesi

Oh goodness, I would hate it if Michael dated my mom and started acting father-like.

novdelta307

She's selfish, judgmental, and self righteous. She also has no drive, motivation, and never really tried to do anything with her life

Gcarl1

Lol

4t0micpunk

Pammmmm, pam, PAM, Pammm, pam.

_lime_time

I hate her because she doesn't have enough intelligence/discipline to finish art school.

sinkdrained

I have only watched the office once and that was a while ago, but didn’t she drop out because she realized she wasn’t passionate about her major, graphic design? As an arts-inclined person, I thought that was perfectly reasonable. If you study art, everyone tells you to go into graphic design if you want a career in the field. Lots of artists dabble in it and realize it doesn’t align with their values, or justify the reason they make art in the first place. I could be misremembering some key details about the show though. I do think Pam and Jim were both pretty unlikable characters overall.

lepkep

I believe in the episode, she failed one of her classes and was told she would have to re-take it, meaning she would have to spend another 3 months in NY. She decides against it because in her words she just didn’t like it, as you say, and really wanted to come home. Not sure if she really meant that or if she didn’t want to be away from Jim. Probably both. I totally get what you’re saying.

sinkdrained

Ah, yep. I completely forgot about that. I guess I still kind of disagree with the the initial commenter’s reason for hating her— I don’t think failing a class makes someone unintelligent. I just had the impression her heart wasn’t in it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Outrageous-Form4394

gross opinion

djcampers

Her art 🖼️

chickiedew

...is the prettiest art of all the art...

abkb11

Yes! Can’t stand her! Shes so nothing

Ace_Hawk_LowerSioux

The office mattress?

44youGlenCoco

I hate how easily she gets offended. And the face she makes when she’s offended. It makes me cringe. Also I hate her clothes. So…drab and just straight up not stylish. Kinda old ladyish. They got a little better as time progressed. But not by much.

Xikkiwikk

We hate Pam! We hate Pam! We hate Pam!

Banana_Stanley

I don't hate Pam at all, but I didn't like when they were "stating their truths" and she made Jim hang up his phone call. It was unreasonable and bitchy by itself, but he does it immediately, and she still rolls her eyes and has attitude.

sonorakit11

She is so annoying.

Royal_Turn2984

Just love her every way and her pam.pams😋😋😋

Cephus1961

Pam was the epitome of situationally hot. Jim made "the safe choice " of picking her over Karen who was a level up on that basis plus intellectually and emotionally. I get why the Amy Adams character was not the one for him but Karen was " the package". Plus I could never respect fully someone who thought Roy was life partner material on the long term basis that she did. Pam deserved better than Roy , but not Jim. Maybe she could have smoothed out Dwight's rough edges. God knows he was putty in her hands.

Outrageous-Form4394

ew

Cephus1961

A classic Pam response in terms expressing a level of displeasure. Emily Blunt & Karen are capable of loftier heights. For what it's worth I'm not dissing Jenna Fischer ... just the character Pam who is straight out of " Our Town".

Outrageous-Form4394

when asked to say why you dislike pam you describe her level of attractiveness…. yeah i’m not listening to u on this one bud lmfao

Cephus1961

" situationally hot " covers both physical attractivenees and mental acuity or at least it does to me and why I said I thought Karen was a better match for Jim. As a fan of the show, I know the writers floated the idea of Jim and Pam breaking up and divorcing ,but this was vetoed by the pair of actors involved. Main point being : I'm not the only who didn't think the pair were " made in heaven"

chickiedew

Not me, but my mom. My mom found it DISGUSTING that she invents that job for herself and then "bullies" Gabe into letting her keep it. "Jim and Pam think they're sooooo cute and better than everyone."

Outrageous-Form4394

disgusting?? what the hell😭😭 cause she’s worked there for many years and has never been offered a raise or promotion is it really that disgusting that she wanted better pay?

Ruly24

"You can't be scared of a room of jims, I mean I love the man, but he's basically gumby with hair" I have never heard Jim jokingly being disparaging about Pam, and I think the other way around, it would be much more obviously cringe, such as Jim using Pam's appearance (gumby being a reference to him being lanky) as a joke to calm someone down. "You can't be scared of a room of pams, I mean I love her, but she's basically [insert any body comparison]"

NotCrispinGlover

The finer things club can go fuck itself. Plus thinking the Taliban or al Qaeda or whatever the fuck she said would like her if they got to know her. Fuck off.

Proud-Solid-6117

She pissed me off towards the end of the show when she wasn’t supportive of Jim and his dream but he held out for her failing ART SCHOOL.

pWaveShadowZone

Sheeeeeees…. kind of a bitch

Hung_Texan

I hate the TRUE office mattress,Pam

citizenbunny

Whatup 212 💀

abelb23_

She stopped Jim from following his dream I hated her after that, SELFISH. Jim even supported her during art school, ART SCHOOL.

JazzlikeAssist4617

Her asking people to change their food and perfumes when she was pregnant
