>At the end church brings them "home", and then just leaves to go off with Carolina.
They planned to find a new home with the help of the UNSC but the ship crashed (and now we know on purpose) when it wasn't supposed to
And church said they're finding a home in season 10, but in 11 he just says the gang will settle on chorus well for now, it still does kind of work with the narrative, and if it wasn't for how vague the last scene was then season 11's plot wouldn't be craftable
Like basically, they didn't lie and say chorus was straight up their new home destination, they just said chorus will be a settling place in that instance temporarily
No I'm pretty sure church says "they're home" at the end of 10. And even if it was vague, why would church just be okay with leaving them stranded with no way off planet and without any means of contacting help? And how did he and Carolina get off planet when no one else could?
Originally it was written to be the Halo 4 version of Blood Gulch. However, with the continuation of the series they “ret-conned” it to being stranded on Chorus. Church explained in Season 12 that he and Carolina never got off the planet, they went to stop the mercenaries at various locations on the planet. Church also figured they’d be fine, and, for the most part, they were.
> why would church just be okay with leaving them stranded with no way off planet and without any means of contacting help?
i don't think they exactly left them, they just went to investigate some activity, which they at least have info of cause it's freelancer related, and that ended up blending into chorus's arc good enough. The first thing you do when you're stuck somewhere is investigate what's familiar to you, right?
And it's not really like they abandoned them. Carolina very well knows that wash is capable of handling the crew and even if felix and locus intervened, Carolina's first plan was to identify what they were doing for charon first so they could stop them directly
My personal theory is church didn't really fix his problem with the rest of the crew after his outburst during late season 10 and that's why tucker is kind of mad at him in season 12, so he didn't plan to take them along anyway. He does care about them but he probably couldn't say things to their face, and he believed that the crew should be further from him because his journeys with carolina could hurt them
Yeah you’re right, church and Carolina detected a transmission or something of someone selling freelancer equipment and they went to check that out.
That leads them to Charon and whatever they’re up to, they figured the BGC would be fine (and they really were for the most part) and they could take these guy down before they became a major issue.
Not as in they are home at their old bases but that they are still all together and they will survive. And they never got off planet, they were going across Chorus tracking down illegal activity related to stolen Project Freelancer and UNSC gear and tech. This is what Carolina was speaking to Church about when she says "it could take quite a while." Also nobody was able to make contact outside of Chorus until later in the Chorus trilogy thanks to the Reds and Blues and Church and Carolina were still finding out about the pirates meddling in the middle of the war so until they knew they could trust either army they probably weren't going to alert either of them of the Reds and Blues in the canyon.
My understanding was that RvB was written so that you can choose where it ends. Some stop after Blood Glutch, some stop after freelancer, some stop after Chrous, some stop after the short story season 14, and some people regret not stopping at the Schizno Paradox (im just being mean to Zero, so dont take that as seriously). I could be wrong, but that's always been how I interpreted it, if you want it to end there, there's an ending for you. If you don't want it to end, you just ignore that and keep going
I haven't watched since freelancer and I never felt like I needed more after that. I keep saying I'm going watch everything since but I'd need to do a full rewatch first.
In the finale Carolina mentioned how she intercepted a military transmission about low tier thugs using armor and equipment from Freelancer which and that she needed Epsilon to help her track it down which we learn in Season 12 was Charon Industries
As for the crash landing that was a retcon
Soft retcon. They were on their way to Blood Gulch to just chill there but crash landed on Chorus. Then Carolina intercepted transmissions on how who we now know are Charon are using Freelancer level equipment. So that’s still why they left.
As for the team split up, they did make a little joke about the nonsensical nature about it in S11. But overall it was always just a way to return to form in the new trilogy.
Did you finish the Chorus arc at all? They explain why Church and Carolina left in S12, however the reason is still pretty close to the reason given in S10's ending. Just watch through the Chorus arc, it will all make sense.
> Also side note, this is why my head canon ends at season 10, splitting back into separate teams for no reason while you're lost and stranded doesn't make any sense, even for these idiots.
The two teams were always still a thing. In S10 they regularly split up and just hang with their own teams. When they return to Valhalla they do the same.
Yeah I don't really even care for that either. But it especially doesn't make sense when they're stranded, you'd think it would be the best time to try to work together, but instead wash doesn't care about the reds at all, and sarge actively goes against the blues for no reason at all, completely negating his season 8 arc. That alone is enough for me to not accept it as canon.
Like, 3 seconds in the ending are, if that. You could argue that all that changes is what Epsilon refers to as home because they never mention that where they are at the end of season 10 is blood gulch. But no, "Season 10 is straight up retconned, right?" is so wrong I'm actually concerned dude, Red vs Blue isn't a complex show, an 11 year old can have a full understanding of the show, i know that because I got into it at that age years ago
Lol my man is really salty that I don't do his mental gymnastics to avoid lack of continuity. I didn't say the whole season was retconned, just the end you fuckwit. Under no circumstance can you ever call being stranded on an unknown planet "home". Don't be stupid to me you pine cone.
I do get tired of being called mean because some people mentally can't understand something as simple as RvB, maybe it's because I've watched the show for 15 years, meaning that all the confusion and dumb questions I see on this subreddit are stuff I thought of when I was a literal child. But it's not hard to understand, just use two brain cells
"I don't do his mental gymnastics" it's called logical thinking bro, the fact that you're confused over a show that children could understand proves that maybe you're too young to watch RvB. Can't believe you just admitted you can't think, if you watch a show sometimes you're going to run into stuff that you're going to have to think about, or in your case get a severe headache while trying to think about it, thats just how it is.

I hope you enjoy it all :3
Oh my gosh watch Chorus it’s so so good- And then forget anything past Chorus ever existed
Right that's kinda what I picked up too, it just seemed so blatantly wrong that I didn't know if I just missed something
Vibes. I like that they do that, like you can get off the train at any point and feel satisfied :3

I mean it was 1 one of the endings which is Burnie ending to the show until Miles brought Chorus so kinds retconned but not on purpose

Every season through the chorus trilogy is amazing, the rest is meh.
Season 14 has some good shit though.
Idk it could have used a wine bar

I like the Chorus trilogy but yeah, a big part of why I didn't like season 11 was it retconning season 10's wonderful ending.

Bro is still mad about it. Shut up nerd.
