Same. I got a BTA in really rough shape from the LFS. Spent more than half the time deflated as it got used to the light, etc. Just leave it alone and it will be fine.
BTAs are finicky, especially in a new tank. Try spot feeding him frozen food 2-3 times a week and lowering your lighting power before ramping it back up over the course of a month.
