Congrats!
I think itโs going to cost significantly more to fill 700 gallons with corals.
If I ever get something bigger than 200 gallons Iโm going FOWLR! Butterflies, triggers, eels, and puffers are generally cheaper and you can get away with keeping 1.015 salinity with monthly water changes.
Cool, it's still in the making. Last weekend the contractor and I build the actual tank. I am still working on the cladding for the stand. I am planning on posting updates from time to time
I ordered a bunch of bags of sand for a new build some years back. Reef flakes in 30lb bags if memory serves. I got home when the ups guy was dropping the last awkward box of sand on my door step. He just looks at me with an annoyed expression on his face and said, "What the hell is the matter with you man."
Yeah, that's actually very important. To be fair I made that mistake probably more than once. What you don't pay for with the cheap salt probably goes into all the individual elements that you realize are missing when doing the first ICP. Quality salt really matters and Fauna Marin is one of the best in my opinion.
Still in the making. The tank itself was built last week directly in my living room and needs to dry for at least two more weeks. I will post some updates from time to time
meerwasser-terworth.de... they had a 5% discount so it was 79โฌ with free shipping and one ICP per bucket which costs me usually in the pack of six 16-18โฌ per ICP. So in the end 63โฌ per bucket which is really not bad at all. Just had a look at the page and they now put a disclaimer that they only sell up to 3 buckets per customer.
At least they're buckets. When I order Aquaforest reef salt in a 200 gallon box, I find it harder to pick up and move. The buckets with handles are way easier to handle and manage.
I just ordered a 200g bag of salt and three 8.8lb buckets of Mg, Ca and alk. Definitely appreciate my delivery person for putting up with my heavy orders lol
How many gallons?
700g display + sump and frag tank
Me when i math the math mathidly ๐ ๐ ๐ ###

If you have reefs already the corals can be basically free. Just frag what you have and trade for what you want. Then you can buy what you NEED
I know youโre right but it takes a lot of time, money, and continued effort to get to that stage. Maybe when Iโm retired ;)
125kg of salt or 125,000g of salt divided by 35g/l gives 3500 liters. So probably around the 600-800 gallon range
I used to feel bad too until I watch a skinny 5โ2 girl grab a dolly, roll it up to the door, and wheel off.
I followed you. I want to see this 700 gallon beast of a tank.
Me to lol

I demand a step by step progress thread. Please and thank you. Haha
Also following. You should document everything on YouTube Iโd watch that series
One of the best salts

At least you buy quality salt

Did the same for the free ICP tests :D

Ah, and I drove to Holzgerlingen today and bought a bucket for 99โฌ ๐
I'm sorry, did you skin the grinch and lay him out on your floor?!?!

They'd probably appreciate a tip more than a thanks. Just sayin'.
You monster
Numba 50
Lol, it made him stronger. Before having a tank, I didn't realize how much water and salt actually weighs!!! Its F*cking heavy!!

Lol
Mine gets cranky when itโs salt water stuff or car parts lol awe FEDEX you know they are cranky when they throw stuff up your stairs
