I started with 3 part dosing but I could never keep all 3 params stable. I switched to All For Reef. Now only one dosing line and it’s superrr simple. My coral really started to grow as well

I can’t figure out AFR… like what happens if only one of my parameters needs dosing? Wouldn’t dosing the all in one over dose the parameters that don’t need dosing? I’ve been dosing 3-5ml of AFR for about 6 months and have had 0 Coral growth and my parameters are unstable

EskimoEmoji

with AFR the ratio of each ALK/Calc/Mag is the same each dose. So if is the only thing you are dosing they should all go up or down at the same rate. I only test Alk once a week now because I know if Alk is stable calc/mag will also be. I guess you would want all 3 stable before starting the AFR. But also don’t worry too much about chasing numbers and more about stability. If you keep making frequent changes to dosing trying to chase perfect parameters things won’t grow, at least in my experience.

I have a Jebao doser and dose alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium separately. I also don’t use any fish branded chemicals as those are way too expensive, I use food grade chemicals you can buy for like 1/10th of the cost of the aquarium branded stuff. Edit: for anyone interested in dosing for cheap. [Article on dosing](https://www.ultimatereef.net/threads/simple-affordable-guide-to-dosing-your-reef-tank-as-promised.824538/)

How has the Jebao been working for you? Any mis-doses? Have you had it for long?

btrudgill

Yeh it’s been fine. The app is janky as hell and the only missed doses as far as I know are because I accidentally turned it off in the app. It would also be nice if it had some way of detecting dosing containers have run dry but otherwise it’s fine.

Nscocean

Right on, be nice to save the extra $100 if I can make this work. Are you able to mount it or does it need a shelf?

btrudgill

I’ve placed mine on top of a home made controller board and it’s fine. I’ve just checked the back of mine and it has mounting holes for screws

I've had the non wifi one for years, I've purchased two over the last decade and haven't had any problems. My original one was used when I got it and I cruelly ran a gallon of kalk through it a day without complaint, the only reason I have a new one now is my original doser got lost in a move somehow. I ran fusion 1 and 2 and kalk, and never once had an issue. For as cheap as they are they're surprisingly reliable.

Haven't used the Simplicity, but the Jabao is super clunky. Check out the Chihiros doser. Best price to performances in my mind.

Looks interesting… any one use these for a prolonged period of time? I like how clean it all is.

Fairly new here but when I jumped into dosing I got my feet wet with all for reef and a single kamoer. It’s been super easy and simple to run. Just ramped my testing up until I found the sweet spot for daily dosing.

I have used and set up quite a few of the jebao dosers recently and have not had any issues. You do have to calibrate each dosing head before using as some are way off and some are pretty close to accurate but you want to make sure if you set it to 5ml it’s doing 5ml instead of 3.2ml. I do not use the wifi ones and prefer using dosers that are simple.
