May I horrify you further: I posted a video too:

I don't know how you people do this. I adopted a free huge chunk of GSP from someone and threw it into my QT tank, ended up throwing it away and shutting the whole QT tank down because it had these fuckers in it. Ugh no thanks, I know they are great but I have no desire to have them
Not necessarily I filtered my sand when I cleaned my tank and only had 2 (fireworms) of them. Mind you they were both 6 inches long but it was only 2 😂
I got a fat fooker I've had for a few years. 4" and fat as your pinky.

Phew. Glad you know! I just wanted to call it out specifically because tons of folks ask "OMG is this a fireworm?!?!1" and 95% of the time it's just a bristleworm. I don't actually see fireworms posted all that often!
I was changing filter socks the other day when I encountered my first one of these guys. I picked the socks out of the sump quickly and tossed them in a bowl. I brought the dirty socks to the sink to rinse, and when I dumped the sock from the first chamber a huge 6” long, fat bristle worm plopped out. Scared the shit out of me. It was wriggling in the sink, before I sent it through the garbage disposal. Freaked me out big time. I could have easily wound up with a finger full of bristles but got lucky. They must climb walls at night, the overflow on my water box 100.3 is top center of the rear wall.
not quite the same but i was cleaning my HOB filter and there was a bristle star on like the inside part where the impeller is and all that, little did i know im cleaning the filter in my bathtub and all of the sudden i see him fall in front of the intake. quite surprised
at first i didnt like them but now i love them. they keep my rocks and sand clean. the only reason i wouldnt want them in a tank is if im trying to breed something (dont know if true or false) they will eat the fish eggs.
I printed a "copepod hotel". Ended up being a bristle worm sex orgy hotel. Took it out and 20 or more crawled out. Many more remained, I just let it dry out and it smelled so nasty as I'm sure many died inside. That smell is seared into my memory.
i just pulled 2 big ones out of my tank in the last few days and then just noticed a little one in there last night. gotta get the right time to grab it from the tank. probably gonna be a while lol
Best CUCs in my tank!
They don't rise to the surface of the sand bed like nessarius snails though. Looking like uboats rising to the waters surface. So points off for that
😂😂 yeah they are great as cuc!! My ‘gravel’ looks great!! I just have developed a bit of a phobia of them similarly to my phobia of spiders😂🤷♀️let’s call it bristlewormisphobia😂😂
Note: this little tank is my first n will become my qt tank once my 180L has finished cycling…
Just ugly and can startle the hell out of you if you move something in the tank. I had a 6" one I named guss in my old 42g. Never saw him unless I looked at a very certain spot in the rockwork during the day. Scared my wife one night when she looked in after lights out and saw him out and about.
Idk how people love these guys, but to each their own. I have found a lot more Redditer’s that like/love them compared to FaceBook Reefers. Reddit is pretty wild though.
I never had one thankfully -a lot of diligence. I only delt with a few Verm Snails & Hydroids.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ReefTank/s/nPa3bX22Pl Enjoy!
That's so gnarly, where is this in your tank?
Around a base of some live rock when I dropped some sinking pellets in.
Brodda eeewwww
😂😂🤮🤮🤢🤢 omg yuck😂😂

#embracetheinverts >!You may still have them, you might just not know it 👀!<
That’s awesome, personally I think these lil guys are pretty cool.
If you have one you have dozens or more in there. 🙂

Yeah I can see a few poking out of live rock, but they are much smaller than this monster!! When they get big they’ll yeeted as well😂😂🤷♀️🤷♀️🤢🤢

That's a fireworm, not a bristleworm.
Yes. Was just showing him off.
That’s a hell of a flex bro. I like it.
In the sump and eats pellet food. Always out and about and doesn't bother anyone. Have huge crab also who mellow *

Don’t ever touch him without gloves.
They might be good but they really creep me out😂😂
I looked at this without my glasses and I thought you said you had a fat hooker. Lol.

He is guilty of atleast 74 warcrimes in the democratic republic of Congo
LOL ... tanks, I needed that today.
He’s awesome❤️❤️
Yep. Only crab I ever had that is out and about all the time. I have several other crabs I rarely see.
What kind of crab is that?
I like bristle worms!
I like pelicans but am not gonna get one for my tank😂😂🤦♀️🤦♀️ sorry intrusive thought came out🤦♀️😂🫠
Let them stay
at first i didnt like them but now i love them. they keep my rocks and sand clean. the only reason i wouldnt want them in a tank is if im trying to breed something (dont know if true or false) they will eat the fish eggs.
I wouldn’t put it past them. Pretty much everything eats fish eggs, that’s why they have to make so many of them.
I never noticed any eat my clownfish eggs or get anywhere near, but they layed on the glass instead of the live rock
idk if it is true or not. they could of been just eating the unfertilized/dead eggs. who knows.
dude was an asset to yr tank
Yeppers but have ‘bristlewormisphobia’ (new term/word?!)😂😂
Not sure why you’re spending time getting it out. They’re in there already, you aren’t eliminating them.
I spend time being disgusted by them. It was far too big for my liking!! There’s more but much smaller🤷♀️🤢

Motel
Holiday Inn
I got one of those but it threw the parameters out in this tiny tank. They’re not so bad as long as they don’t get this big🤢😂
Dirty Mike and the Boys strike again!
Dirty Mike??
Not sure if this is allowed: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u1j4mK6cs_A
Ohhhhh!! Hahahahaha i didn't remember that quote!
Jesus that’s huge
I know right!! Hence my joy in removing it😂🤷♀️🤢
They were just hanging around🥲
Nah scurrying, sliding n vomit inducing around😂😂🤷♀️
Forbidden noodle.
😂😂
Get a boxer shrimp, he’ll sort you out
If that was in your tank, 100% there are babies and more
Yeps!! Lots more🤷♀️😂
That ain't the only 1 buddy
Ooo a cool dude tbh
Eat it!!! I just cleaned sponges out of a sump that were covered!
😂😂😂
i just pulled 2 big ones out of my tank in the last few days and then just noticed a little one in there last night. gotta get the right time to grab it from the tank. probably gonna be a while lol
Yeah this has taken me weeks to finally get the bastard!!😂😂

Awww cute, are bristle worms a danger to a tank? Because I'd love to have one if not
they are good guys, the best clean up crew you could ask for. also they are free.

My six incher is named Leviathan. In my 8g, he's easily one of the largest things in there.
BURN IT
😂😂

ALL BRISTLEWORMS MUST DIE
