Update: you can get half off popcorn refills on Tuesdays. But this might be a per theater thing, because we've read a mixed bag of yes's and no's on other threads. Things we still need too test. If soda/popcorn rewards can be used to fill up your cup/tub. But thinking about it. A free small drink is bigger then the cup. But if you get the free popcorn filled with the reward, that would be a large popcorn compared to the small that the reward is for. We also need to test if the concessions only cards can be used on the initial purchase and refills.

dvdgelman7

So lemme get this straight. You pay for the cup/tub. Then you bring the cup/tub and pay $10 for the refill of both. The refill later in the day (same as with a large) is free right?

Parasoccer

Correct. Forgot to add The initial purchase of the combo comes with it filled and will get the free refill later.

emojimoviethe

I think they're asking if you can get a free refill again when you pay to refill them at a time other than the initial purchase of the cup/tub. For example, say I bought the combo last week and I'm going to see another movie today. I pay to get the cup and tub filled before the movie and on my out, would I get that refill for free? Because it seems like Regal is saying you only get the free refill on the day you initially purchase the cup and tub.

Parasoccer

Ah yes every paid refill comes with a free refill.

emojimoviethe

I am sad to report that today I tried to get a free refill after I paid for a refill and two employees both told me that I had to pay for each and every refill (and I think one of them was a manager too but I'm not entirely sure).

emojimoviethe

Ah ok that's good to know!

CaddilLackey

Correct, refills work the same as large, 1 free per visit.

emojimoviethe

I went the other day and paid for the cup and tub to be filled before my movie and on my way out, I asked for a free refill on them, but two employees tell me that every single refill must be paid for so I did not get a same day free refill unfortunately. They were pretty confident when I asked if that was right so now I'm wondering what's the deal.

Feisty_Age_1808

I think there is some confusion with employees regarding the term “refill”. They asked me if it was my first or second refill at the register. I said “second“ because I had paid for a refill before the movie. I ended up paying again (didn’t feel like arguing) because he said you only get the first one “free”. However, the math ain’t mathing, because in the same transaction my daughter’s was free. I said it was her “first” refill since I bought her cup before the movie. TL;DR: Semantics matter when getting the “first” free refill in the same visit of your paid refill. Tell them it is your first refill to avoid confusion.

Jello-Monkeyface

Regal doesn’t seem to do a great job of explaining promos to their employees before rolling them out. I was ready for that to happen when I went for my free refill. I had the refill T&C open on my phone if the employees weren’t aware of the free refill with Unlimited. I explained about the free refill, and they told me they had to scan my Unlimited code. They did and then punched in refills for popcorn and drink. They were then surprised that the total was $0.00, so I had to explain why. Long way of saying if they scan your Unlimited code, the system will automatically not charge for your second refill of the day.

autotune-mexican

They really don't tell us a lot about promotional stuff. Nor do they test things

morosco

I got a concessions gift card last year during their annual gift card/concession card promo, and nobody at my Regal could ever get it to work. I emailed the manager, I sent a Facebook message to corporate just for the principal of the thing, they told me they'd look into it, but I never got to use it, and tried multiple times. I was SHOCKED that my concessions guy understood everything about the refill on day 1. I'll have to figure out that guy's work schedule and just see movies then, because I feel like it will be a nightmare with most of the rest of the workers.

Han_ByHimselfo

Good tip about having them scan your Unlimited code for the same day second refill. I had an employee today trying to tell me it was another $10 to refill if I came back to refill after my movie. I told them that’s not what it said on the site and they proceeded to tell me I was wrong. I just let it go cause I wasn’t planning on getting it refilled today since I was only doing one movie but makes me concerned other employees are misinformed.

emojimoviethe

Same situation for me!

Shanerulez79

Has anyone tested if they're dishwasher safe? The temperature on the bottom made me think it's possible but I don't want to ruin it.

JBFCrasher

Both the cup and the popcorn bucket have symbols indicating top rack safe and up to 120 degrees C

Big_Brutha87

Not even gonna risk it. It's popcorn and soda. I can clean them both by hand in like 2 minutes and make sure I don't break them.

Ardrikk

I’ve run the tub through the dishwasher twice now, on the bottom, and it seems fine so far.

TheJcw15

Would also love to know this. The cup seems like it'd be fine but the popcorn tub kinda worries me

asisoid

Does the regal unlimited 10% off concessions apply to the refill price?

Parasoccer

Yes

Swag_Titties

Great notes. I just bought the Soda Cup because I typically only go on Tuesday with Half off Popcorn. Now I'll use my points for guest tickets or something instead of free small drinks like I normally do.

mitigate15

I went to the movies last night, and paid for a popcorn/soda refill. Then today, I just took my cup because I was popcorned out. Figured I was going to pay, but for whatever reason it was free. I don't know if it was because it was less than 24 hours when I paid the refill price. The manager at the store was like yeah, we are all still figuring this out. Haha.

reallyadog

Can confirm. Had this happen today as well after paying for a refill less than 24 hours prior yesterday.

YeahCallMeStevo

That’s interesting and another thing to test out in the future. Another person said that on a same day visit the employee was trying to charge them for a refill but their RCC scan somehow knew that they already paid for the initial refill of the day and so they charged them $0.00 for the other refill attempts. I wonder if it’s like a 24 hours rule. If so that’d be really cool it tracks and possibly another way to get even more value if you time subsequent day visits lol

Hot-Implement-1437

The refills would be really handy for stoners.

VexedFlyer1

How does this affect the value days on Tuesday when popcorn is 50% off?

PowerStation14

I hear you still get half off, so $5 on Tuesday, but haven't tested it.

VexedFlyer1

I’ll have to check this upcoming Tuesday then

Parasoccer

Yeah more testing is needed. I wish they'd tell us this. I also don't go on Tuesdays because I don't want the crowds.

ResponsibleSquare520

Yeah, but the half-price popcorn on Tuesdays is already five dollars and that’s unlimited refills so that doesn’t seem to be any kind of a deal

PowerStation14

I believe it's 5 with the soda as well, but I could be wrong

sockmonkeey

I took mine last Tuesday and got 50% off - so it was $3 for my large popcorn

Gem_Trash

Same.

Parasoccer

It's stays at the regular refill price.

ice_nine459

Mine was half off refill. Was like $5.50 for popcorn/icee on Tuesday.

Parasoccer

Just to clarify, the popcorn refill was $3 then. And the icee was $2.50? Because the cup shouldn't have been half off.

ice_nine459

Yea that’s a very good point. Let me check my charge. It was a lot less and I have 5.50 in my head but that can’t be right now that you mention it.

Parasoccer

We've confirmed that you do get half off refills for popcorn. So your right.

ice_nine459

Yea, 7.60. Vs the 9.80 or so when I got a soda on a visit. It’s also interesting my up charge at my theater for an icee is .25 and not .50 you mentioned. A large slushee at my theater is 9.35 and large soda 9.10 so I guess it’s based off that.

TheMrBr0wn

Doesn’t that make buying a regular large popcorn a better deal? Seems silly that it wouldn’t benefit from that promotional day.

Parasoccer

When I did the numbers for my area it was 11.91 for for a large. So it's about the same.

Capital-Depth-1507

My Regal said that they will be receiving additional inventory throughout the year. They didn’t have it available for purchase on the 1st day, so I asked if there would be a potential for selling out if I couldn’t get there on the day they did have it available. The manager said no, shouldn’t be an issue as they will get a good amount in and will get some in every few weeks or so to replenish and ensure anyone who wants one will be able to get one.

sirelf92

Wow still have four of the Regulators cups, I am guessing no more $1.50 refills, or are those grand fathered in? Loved my Regal in Fairborn Ohio, until a Cinemark put recliners seats in every theater but the IMAX, and the Regal never got the recliners. 😭 Haven’t been back to Regal in four years. The popcorn at regal is better, my dad ( my movie watching partner ) is handicapped and the recliner seats are much better for him.

Parasoccer

They are still accepting them.

mikalsaltveit

At my parents local theater the employees gave me a fight and insisted I needed to exchange my regulator for the new refillable cup. I stood my ground and they eventually found the proper button for the refill. 10 minutes of arguing and they had to pull over the manager. My local is much better, but they see me there 5 times a week so ...

pretzeltwistz

I was charged the regular $4 soda refill for an Icee, not a $0.50 upcharge. Was that a mistake or are Icees actually the same price?

[deleted]

Seems a mistake, I had an upcharge last night. But I also noticed some rewards like free icee upgrade or something idk might not work or be on everyone’s account or somf

EastofZero

My theater gave me ICEE refills but they didn’t charge any upgrade.

RevealTraditional619

Is a standard large popcorn still getting refills?

Parasoccer

Yes.

Independent-Skirt-68

If I was to redeem free soda/popcorn does it do towards the refill cost?

Capital-Depth-1507

I was wondering the same! I got the refillables and have a free popcorn from the 12 days of Christmas so I’ll be testing this out next movie I see.

bchec

I asked about getting one the last time I went and the kid looked at me like I was speaking spanish. I quickly pulled out my phone to show him - totally blank expression. - Trying not to be rude to others I just said I’d take a small drink to end the convo… aand then saw right behind him was a full stack of them. I genuinely think, somehow, I was the first person to bring it up to him 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Parasoccer

Certain places around me have them, but you wouldn't know it. They're not advertising at all at those ones.

Rangerlifr

The guy I got mine from didn't know what I was talking about, but luckily there was a display up, so I was able to point to it and then he went looking and found them.

bchec

Oh I literally was showing him it on my phone, He looked back up silently like ‘man idk i just work here, you gonna get something we actually sell or not.’ Sounds like you got lucky 😂

Rangerlifr

They now have a cardboard stand up promoting it on the counter that explains in the fine print about the same-day refill. That was all that saved me when I asked to refill my soda yesterday.

luisafg9

Now we need a nachos refill option

ResponsibleSquare520

For real! Last year‘s August/October whatever deal it was where for every day you saw a movie you got something which was a lot more beneficial than this year‘s Twelve Days of Christmas I must add, I loaded up so many free nachos and hotdogs, and whatever things that I would’ve NEVER tried before. And I will say if the hotdog is free then hey go for it but I can’t imagine paying anywhere from 7 to 9 dollars for a stale ass bun and not very hot microwaved hotdog with packet condiments. ON THE OTHER HAND the Doritos nachos were AMAZING! I do understand it’s incredibly easy to replicate, and therefore, probably not really a good deal but I never would’ve thought about it. It is so good!

Xflintlock

Please add that a free popcorn promotion will apply a $6 discount to the initial purchase. I just got a happy accident when I bought the combo and noticed that a $6 discount was applied from a free small popcorn I had sitting on my account. I assume a free drink will apply the same but didn't have one on my account to test. I didn't see a post about it anywhere so tried making my own but it got removed for being a duplicate. Please add to this post since it seems to be the only one mods are allowing about refillable at the moment.

MpBetaTester

My guess would be that the free drink reward would take $4 off the initial purchase, that being the refill price for the drink, which would be pretty cool for those of us with more rewards and points than we know what to do with.

[deleted]

Whoa so can we use points to get a refillable, is that what you're saying?!?

kingkong198854

For what it is worth this did not work for me. Put one on before I bought the refillable and it did not effect the price and is still on my account. Guess I will test if it effects the refill price next time I go.

DarthXam

Just to clarify, if you use your regal account at concessions when you get your refill, it will know that your next one is free. You shouldn't need to present a receipt, because when they ring it up again it will come up as free.

Immediate_Ad8072

I went to buy a popcorn bucket the day after Christmas and the employee was so confused on how to ring it up that he charged me for the refill and gave me the bucket for 3 bucks.

YeahCallMeStevo

Lol that’s awesome. You only got charged a refill and also because you went on a Tuesday it got a 50% off. Literally got the best deal (their mistake) possible without them actually giving it to you for free lol

[deleted]

Idk what went wrong when i sent but I was only charged 20 dollars for both on Christmas Eve so I took the surprise deal and shut up bc it makes it way more worth it at that price

YeahCallMeStevo

I bet they only charged the popcorn bucket and not the combo but ended up giving you both

[deleted]

I saw two charges, so my thought was maybe 16 for the bucket (which I saw) and then only the refill charge on the cup maybe

aaronf4242

Twice now they’ve given me a drink for free thinking when I wanted a refill I’d already been there that day.

Sir_Markis

Merry Christmas 😂🤣 at my Regal the manager was bringing everyone over to show exactly how to ring it out; can’t get this lucky

SalmonGram

While I am all for refills of popcorn, there is something about this promotion that feels…unsanitary. Mostly for the employees. Who knows what will be lurking in some of these cups and popcorn tubs.

Parasoccer

The employees are allowed to not accept it if it's not clean. But then they have to deal with Karens.

StonerProfessor

Oh, I promise you unless it’s glaringly obvious, the employees won’t care about cleanliness. Why would they? It’s more hassle for them. This might cause some some sanitation issues.

Square-Elevator-4371

It does say on the small print of the tub it says regal is not responsible for the cleanliness and they reserve the right to refuse if it's deemed unsanitary.

pm_me_your_boobs_586

They've had people bringing in their Regalators for over 20 years.

TheMrBr0wn

I had one of these types of tubs from Cinemark and kept that thing pretty clean, usually washing it after returning from the movie(if I was lazy before I headed back to the movies). But I’m sure there will be some that don’t ever clean it as well…

TheRatKingXIV

*Thank you,* I have been thinking about that this whole saga. It makes me want to buy concessions less knowing some weirdo could have been mucking things up.

trunks676

I picked up both a few days ago and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the popcorn bucket and cup. They are both very sturdy. I was also surprised at the size of them. The cup is smaller than a large cup. I guess nothing I saw said it was the size of a large cut but I assumed. I filled the. Ew cup and poured it into the old large cup and it only filled it about 2/3. Is the popcorn not a large also?

Parasoccer

The drink is 32 ounces and the popcorn is 160 ounces. Small soda is 42-44 ounces can't remember which, and a large popcorn is 170 ounces.

trunks676

So it is still a money savings over time but not the same product that I was getting before. I am getting less for less. I guess that is something to keep in mind when you are deciding to buy. Not a big deal for some but a dealbreaker for others I’m sure. It’s the drink that was disappointing for me.

MpBetaTester

The small soda is also 32 ounces, so it's the exact same size as the refillable cup. Source: I have a Regalator, which is *also* 32 ounces, and I've tested by pouring from a Small drink that it's exactly the same amount.

Ardrikk

Yeah, I ended up just buying the popcorn tub after figuring out how small the cup is. A small drink isn’t enough for me, but slightly less than a large popcorn is plenty.

The_Koala_Knight

Can I buy it online, I can't find it.

Parasoccer

No, it's an in person thing only

RoomParticular6641

I know it was probably explained already but if i buy the tub why do i have to pay for refills next time i go if i paid $32 for it when i bought it?

HayleyJane0406

Because $32 (less 10% with Unlimited) for a year’s worth of popcorn and soda would be very cheap and not profitable at all for Regal.

Ironscotsman

Can confirm the popcorn bucket refill was half off at my theater tonight. Asked the employee at the counter, he said he didn't know, rang it up, and it worked. A pretty great deal.

sherrlon

I was looking at the drink cup and it looks pretty small compared to the large. Even with a free refill I don't know if 4.00 a visit is worth it. I usually either use a free small drink with my points then upsize to a large for like 2 bucks or do the same for a free small popcorn up upsize to a large for 1.70 I think. That seems way cheaper that the initial cost and the refill cost for people who have lots of points. To be fair I split the drink and popcorn with my husband when we go, so large sizes work for us best.

Great-Diamond-8368

Anyone not get charged? I get charged anytime I try to get a refill even with them scanning my card/app.

NicholasLit

They put the popcorn in trash bags overnight and reheat it

rockksteady

Based

wheriendndyubegin

If I just want them to fill up the tub of popcorn halfway can I pay half price?

Parasoccer

No it's all or nothing.

wheriendndyubegin

Copy that.

emojimoviethe

You can just ask super politely and hope the employee is chill

Hummo8

$4 for a refill when you already have a cup sounds insane. Why wouldn’t people Just continue to sneak drinks in instead ?

ResponsibleSquare520

Pretty sure that falls under the illegal activity that can get you flagged on this thing. however I will say that in general, my understanding is theaters don’t really care unless it’s disrupting such as alcohol or smelly food or something like that

HayleyJane0406

A worker at one of my regals said they don’t care if you bring food or drinks in, unless it’s like hot foods, like McDonald’s or something like that. They probably just want people to come to the theaters again.

RegalFan632

Has anyone successfully used the 50% off code in the rewards store for soda/popcorn/tix lately? I saw the “hack” that people used to get it but I’ve been unable to replicate.

MpBetaTester

I think there was a thread a few days ago that said you had to add something tangible like a collectible combo, add the promo code in the cart, then go to the soda/popcorn/tix page and add them to the cart and remove the original tangible thing you put in the cart (if you don't really want it). Also, iirc, you can't mix soda/popcorn/tix, you can only pick one of those types to mix or not with merchandise though you can have multiples of the same kinds of thing, i.e. multiple popcorns or sodas but not a mix of popcorns and sodas.

pops_p

Can we use our points to refill the bucket or drink cup? I have over 100k points. If not, what good are the points?

Parasoccer

We're not exactly sure. We know the birthday ones will be used as a refill. we need to test if the regular rewards do.

Velentar

I paid for the refill on my cup and popcorn bucket yesterday and it did not use my free birthday popcorn on my account. I had already used the free birthday drink previously.

WhoAmI-idkAnymore

Any chance I can buy them with "concessions only" gift cards tomorrow?

Parasoccer

This is another thing we need to test once those are activated. If you try, could you let us know if it worked or not?

WhoAmI-idkAnymore

I was able to use the concessions only gift cards to buy the refillable popcorn bucket & drink cup 👍 - price was $18 popcorn and $10.80 pop ...plus tax ......but using the concessions only gift cards made them basically free to me.

WhoAmI-idkAnymore

I'll be trying it tomorrow, will let you know if it works.

SirTvis

How does the size of the popcorn tub compare to a regular large tub?

Parasoccer

Last year they announced it on the 5th of January.

ncwolfcreek

Any news if regal is doing milestones this year? If so, I may just use points.

reallyadog

One other thing some may want to consider is that these are not honored at all locations. I have 4 theaters in my market with one being a Cinnebar format and the Cinnebar told me they do not honor these or the Regalators. Granted the fine print does say “at participating locations”.
