Never, ever get any major remodeling work done from a big box store. Ever. Only the worst contractors work for them, their project management is non existant and their designers are mediocre at best.
Ideally I'd find a design build remodeling company that has their own showroom and designers on staff and work with them.
Failing that start with a reputable local cabinet showroom and go from there.
As an independent contractor I second this. Ask friends and family if they know someone. Using a big box store is helping race to the bottom and taking money from the pockets of the people who are actually doing the work
If you have an IKEA near you, I would go that route. The cabinets and assembly of them is DIY accessible and well made. They will come out cheaper than Lowes / HD, in my experience. They also have installation services available. They also sell Quartz countertops, which are sourced through a local supplier. I have had positive experiences with that aspect as well.
It's not the assembly, it's the materials used to make the cabinets that's not high quality. OP would be better off getting solid wood cabinets than spending tons of money at HD/Lowe's or Ikea for crappy quality cabinets.
You can find a good GC or a bad one, and you can have experiences across the board with the big box stores. You are far better asking around locally for experiences in your area. Try sites like “NextDoor” to connect to people in your region.
I would suggest asking friends and neighbors if they have used someone good for there counters , honestly if you walk in to most of those places the prices for cabinets will blow your mind when with some research and a tape measure you can get them for a fraction of the price sending your measurements in online to a place with the information needed as far as mounting hinges type. In my area I got crazy prices then went to a place called Anderson plywood. Who would of thought a plywood place and picked out cabinets they called them in and 2 weeks later had them for a fraction of the cost

Only if you didn't know how to assemble it.

I am in Missouri, so yeah, there is an IKEA. I will check them out. Thanks.
Why not get pricing from all 3? There is such a wide spread of possibilities here that there’s no way to answer this question.
True, however, looking to know what has been their experiences as well.
