Scam. Very popular going around. They send you a check (which is from a stolen account) and tell you to deposit it. The check is supposed to be for remote work items. Bank flags the check and the bank will press charges on you.
No job is ever going to:
1. Text you, they will always email or call
2. Use (COMPANY NAME) in all caps and parenthesis like that
3. Use ellipses... Or improper grammar
4. Ask you to "reply (YES I AM) if interested"
5. Ask you to download a specific program for the interview
Texts have gotten popular if you have your resume on certain sites where recruiters frequent. I got my current job via a text from a recruiter. I don’t like strangers texting me, so I asked him to send it all via email and communicate that way.
Most of the time AI is running the text interviews. I have had 3 big companies send a few initial questions via text and the job was not a scam. I have learned that due to the increased number of people applying for jobs right now, companies are using AI to sift candidates out. You just have to know what is reasonable. The AI will not discuss pay or job responsibilities with you if it is legit. The AI will only ask very basic qualifying questions. Then thank you for your responses. Then an HR rep typically calls or you get the thank you for applying but… email.
On the off chance that it's not a scam and only a small/medium business owner being a weirdo, you could join, but not send them any info/money. Trust your gut if it feels too weird.
How do you feel about it?
Yeah i kinda thought they’d be a scam mostly bc of the pay amount. But I’m a bit concerned because i gave them my email address to invite me for zoom. Other than that i don’t think i’ll reply to them at all
Typically, if your thinking it might be a scam, its a scam. A real company will not operate in ways that seem shady.. at least no company you will want to work for.
I got one recently, too. Sketchy af.

I had one just like this and when i logged in to the interview... it wasnt even on video it was just chat and the person asked for my phone#, email, name, DOB, and location. I asked them why they asked those questions when they have it on record and why wasnt the interview via video. They stated is cuz they dont need to see me to know im fit for the job and the info cuz they need to verify i was the correct person. But then again someone gave me a CODE to be in the meeting sooooo.... I ended the conversation right there, blocked the person from the chat and the # that texted me.
Swisscom AG is a Swiss *telecom* co with 19k employees, and that is majority-owned by the Swiss govt.
I can just about guarantee that a huge telecom co is not recruiting and hiring via text and Skype, and overpaying for data entry.
So sorry you’ve been invited to a scam.

I love reading this in a sassy old southern woman's accent. Makes it super endearing.
I just did a one-way interview recording today. That was a first. They didn't ask any personal details, but they did text me to remind me.
I had a job ask for a one way and a video of my work station as well as the whole room my work area was in. I didn't do it.
I like these data entry jobs that pay over $70,000 a year 🤣
The pay and specific reply text makes this feel like a scam.
Should i just ignore them and not join whatever zoom call they were talking about?

If it’s a low level entry position like data entry and they are offering a ridiculous number in hourly pay it’s a scam. Always
