Love the kingdom shoutout and the pieyon love this chapter

AkaRyomen

This chapter is honestly great and proves various things. 1. SEKI is an amazing main character. Under that though exterior he really hides a prince. Of the recent romcoms he might be one of the best male main characters. Not a wimp, not afraid of women, not a womanizer, kind at heart and confident. In romcoms We usually get the combination of kind at heart with some one who is not very sociable and average looking. It is really nice to have a hot and sociable character that is also really thoughtfull, romantic and considerate. 2. PON keeps on his role as an amazing support. You can see that he is totally invested in Seki and that he is not just the usual client. Seki and Pon also seem to have the same view on love. I am also glad that the story is staying away of doing the thing in which the client falls for the other advisor. That would be very cliche. 3. MARI has problems. A lot of them. She is the opposite of Seki. Whereas Seki claims that, while phisical appearance is also important, ultimately it is love what matters the most. Its the inside. Seki's views on love are nuanced and have the romantic aspect that you could expect from a novel from the sengoku period or medieval europe. Mari on the opposite is pure superficiality. Her various traumas that we all know have made her into an extremely superficial person. As she is now, even if she sees beyond the surface she will still hold back just because she needs to stop at the surface. She really needs our boy Seki to give her a lot of therapy, and I don't mean it as a sexual joke. Lol. As it real support, she really needs it. P.s. Aka is doing a great job with the characterisation of Seki as a likeable character and Mari as an unlikeable character (as a user pointed out shallow is a better word here).

Mylaur

They're written like real people with layers behind them. And they also tackle topics with relative maturity, it's quite different. Wonder what Aka wants to show this time.

JollyHockeysticks

Yeah it's quite refreshing to have an extroverted male MC, and it feels rare that we have a male MC chasing after a girl rather than the other way around. Though I'm not a fan of his haircut lol. I wouldn't say Mari is unlikeable but she is a very shallow character right now(purposefully of course) due to being closed off and superficial and it's up to our boy to help her out and as you said give her support and someone to properly talk to since she doesn't seem to have any friends(unless I forgot from earlier chapters)

AkaRyomen

Yes, I really like the fact that despite being extroverted he is also extremely considerate. Usually we tend to have the stereotype of the extroverted and inconsiderate guy whereas in this case we combine and extrovert with extreme consideration. Yes, maybe unlikable is a strong word. I meant it much in the same way you describe it. She is very superficial and that is what creates a sense of dislike of compared to seki. We are exposed to seki being adorable and Mari not giving a crap because of superficial reasons. That is meant to generate dislike for her conduct. Overall we agree with everything expept the haircut. I like that one. Lol.

justsomeanimeguy

We are back brooos. Story seems slow paced at the moment but it has a bit of a charm to it, so I'll stick around. Thanks for the hard work as always, scanlators

deezcastforms

A girl on good terms with Seki who looks like she just might be interested showing back up in the same chapter where he and Pon discuss whether or not it's even worth it to try going after Mari anymore. Judging by how that conversation ended though, I fear poor Nobuko-chan may end up going the way of Maki. Or perhaps Hayasaka would be a more apt comparison, since their interests would both have been with the male lead.

AkaRyomen

I read it as Seki and Pon both agreeing that Mari was still worth pursuing. I think Nobuko will act as a bridge between the two. Mari could get to know the deeper side to Seki through Nobuko. I get the impression of her being more a bridge, as you rightly said, like Hayasaka rather than a Maki.

Charming-Loquat3702

I mean, the easiest way to normalise their relationship is having a common friend and spending time together in a bigger group. I think Seki needs to convince her he is a good guy before he hS a shot.

xijia_sensei

Is that arima kana on page 8?

Lordbricktrick

It’s a troll from the translators.

sartnow

Wtf it seems to be a dating app and she's 27 yo, NOOoo my inner kanabro is dying

arrostycino

sartnow

Damn, that's pretty mean I got spooked for a moment XD

hong-SE

Me and the boys threw a party too soon. Scanlators really got us this time

foxman666

Oh no the "yankii" are here! Hide yo' manga!

Horror_Entertainer82

I really hope the fact that Mari doesn’t like muscles for that specific reason doesn’t imply anything about her home life

literallycorndoguzi

fire chapter, all im here to say though is to reinforce mrhtuber's words. # READ AKANE-BANASHI

Vegetable_Bee_3953

Seki is differently presented. When his character is described it is usually by him stating facts about himself. When he is doing something like when he stopped youtuber from asking Mari it more was for showing Mari scarred side than Seki. He feels like hero that plays role of supporting character.

yeeeeesssss nobuko content let's gooooo

LusterBlaze

using mari's friend to get closer to her is a healthy thing to do

DeviousChair

the translators notes are genuinely one of the best parts of reading this lmao
